Here’s to the gay Muslims, lesbian Muslims, bi Muslims, pan Muslims, trans Muslims, questioning Muslims, and any Muslim who’s not cis or straight who has to deal with being told you’re haram or not Muslim or that you have to “pray the gay away” or “I’ll make dua for you” or that you’re being “influenced by the West” because you’re not cishet. You’re just as valid in your identity and just as Muslim as cishet Muslims and the things that homophobic and transphobic Muslims say about you is not equivalent to the way that Allah SWT views you and you are not hated by Allah SWT and you are not haram.

im bi and muslim and it sucks because i want to scream from the top of my lungs that i like girls and boys and be free but i feel so trapped by my parents. Its so hard. They want me to talk to this guy but he thinks im straight and he's homophobic.

okay but I feel this needs to be said:

wlw who grew up in religiously homophobic environments are strong and powerful. wlw who went to religious schools where homophobia was in the curriculum, wlw who grew up hearing things like “hate the sin, not the sinner,” “marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman because god said so,” and even people comparing homosexuality with pedophelia and beastiality, wlw who were told at home that they had to save themselves for their ~husband~. Even if after you left that environment you stuck with your religion or left it because you felt you didn’t belong, y’all are so very valid and strong and amazing, and you deserve all the love.
