The Coldness of My Winter

AU/Alternate Ending, post-show

Robin has nightmares about the violence he's committed, as a member of the King's Guard mostly. He's haunted by the things he's done. Marian does her best to comfort him, or at least bring him back to himself when he wanders.

“Robin,” she said quietly, finding him sitting on the fence, overlooking the backyard and outbuildings of Locksley Manor. Marian had done nothing to mask the sound of her footsteps, her heavy breathing. She did not wish to startle him. 

He gave her a small nod in welcome. This was not the first time she had woken to an empty bed. Not the first time she found him outside of an evening, in the snow, too cold even to shiver.

it is past time we jettisoned the useless false dichotomy of introversion vs. extroversion and just accepted that everybody has a minimum amount of social interaction, failing which, they get really weird. and everybody has a maximum amount of social interaction, exceeding which, they get really weird. these levels are different for everyone, for a variety of reasons, and have no moral dimension. and that is all.
