Random whumpy snippet #3

A rough shove sent him crashing into a wall. Hal suppressed a flinch when a hand landed on his chest, stopping him from moving.

"Well, well, who do we have here?"  

"Fuck off, Crawford," Hal hissed, trying keep his racing heartbeat in check. He locked eyes with Roma who was sitting on the opposite side of the room with the other hostages. Roma was there, he wasn't alone. Ray and Linnett weren't far either. They would get there and the situation would be resolved soon. Crawford wouldn't have any time to do anything. Hal drew in a sharp breath when the man's free hand held a piece of broken glass against his neck.

Crawford let out a laugh. "It's been a while, wouldn't you say? Imagine my surprise when I found out that you're here, in this prison, today of all days. We're going to have so much fun." He yanked Hal away from the wall and turned around before slamming him down on a table.

A pained cry left Hal's lips as he felt something crack. He tried to curl on his side but a hand on his chest prevented him from doing so. He couldn't breathe. Hal squeezed his eyes shut, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to spill.

"Hey!" Roma exclaimed, standing up. "Leave him alone you piece of shit!" He took a step forward, only to get pistol whipped. He grunted and fell against the wall.

"Stay down, buddy, unless you wanna get hurt," another inmate warned him.

Roma took a step forward, his eyes narrowing. "I'm not afraid of-"

"Roma, don't."

Roma looked at his teammate, worried. Hal wasn't looking good. He was looking very pale and unsteady. "Hal."

Crawford seemed to be enjoying this. "I didn't know you have a friend present, Hal," he said. "I wonder if you have told him about me."

Hal surged forward but Crawford was quick to slam him back down. "Don't!" Hal hissed through gritted teeth, although his voice lacked ferocity.

"Now, now, kid. Don't hurt yourself," Crawford told him, shaking his head. "That's my job."

Random whumpy snippet #2

OC: Hal

Halden grunted, baring his teeth as he was slammed against a brick wall. Disoriented from the impact, he wasn’t able to fight back as fingers dug into his hair and his head was yanked back. He squeezed his eyes shut as he felt the hot breath of his attacker brush against his ear.

“You shouldn't go snooping into other people's business,” the attacker growled.

Hal braced his foot against the wall and kicked back, throwing the man off balance. ”Thanks for the advice, but snooping into other people’s business kind of happens to be my specialty,” he huffed, slightly breathless, as he threw his elbow back. It connected with the man’s ribs with a crack. 

The man didn’t let go of him though, but wrapped his arms around him even tighter.

I know this is very incomplete but my friend encouraged me to post this so here it is. This is actually the first thing I wrote with Hal. I only had a very vague idea of his character back then.

Random whumpy snippet #1

TJ jolted up, panic seizing his chest. His eyes were wide, his breathing harsh as he looked around the room.  A storage room. His hands were bound around a pole, his wrists burning as the rope dug into his skin. Where were Linnett and everyone else? Why couldn’t he remember what had happened?

“Linnett!” TJ shouted but only muffled sounds came out. There was a cloth wrapped around his head, preventing him from speaking up. It didn’t stop him from trying though. He was scared. He tugged at his wrists. 

Time passed but nothing happened. TJ couldn’t get free and he had only managed to make his headache worse. He leaned his forehead against the pole, squeezing his eyes shut. He needed to calm down. Panicking wasn’t going to do him any good. He had to think like a paramedic. He had helped panicking patients multiple times before. 

Breathe. In…out. Slow and steady.  

A door opened behind TJ with a loud clang, startling him. He tried to turn around but a gun pressing against his back stopped him. His breath hitched but he forced himself to stay still. If the attackers wanted him dead, they wouldn’t have bothered dragging him into some storage room and tying him up, right?

The gun left his back and the person moved to  stand in front of him. “Good to see you awake. I was starting to worry I had accidentally hit you too hard.”

Meet the character: TJ

Name: Thomas Jason “TJ” Vaughn

Age: 27

Birthday: April 20th

Occupation: Paramedic

TJ is a bit of a happy-go-lucky type of person. He likes to see the best in everyone and everything. He is active and doesn’t like sitting still for long - unless he’s on the sofa and cuddling with his cat.

Meet the character: Markus

Name: Markus Alinsky

Age: 34

Birthday: February 7th

Occupation: Paramedic

Markus doesn’t know exactly how he became a paramedic. He had never even entertained the thought of becoming one but that’s what he has been doing for years now. While the job is demanding and emotionally taxing at times, Markus doesn’t regret anything. Had he not chosen to become a paramedic, he wouldn’t have met his fiancee or become a father of a beautiful little girl.

Name: Linnett Boyd

Specialty: Second in Command, Weaponry

Unlike most people seem to think, growing up in a rich family wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Sure, Linnett never had to go to bed hungry or worry about money but it wasn’t easy. As soon as she was old enough, Linnett moved out and started living for herself. The years living with her demanding and entitled parents left their marks though. Emotions have never been her strong suit and has always been more of a lone wolf type. Only recently has she begun to lower her guard down and let other people in.

Name: Roma Ortega

Specialty: Hand-to-hand Combat

Roma would have to say his mother is one of his role models. Raising him and his four sisters hadn’t been an easy job considering he and his siblings had had a knack for getting into trouble and causing havoc quite often. Roma especially had been an energetic and active youngster, which is why his mother had introduced him to a local gym owner. For most of his teenage years, Roma worked at the gym in exchange for boxing lessons. Over the years it became clear to him that boxing and martial arts were what he was good at. When he was later offered a job where he could use his training to make the world a better place, he couldn’t say no.

Name: Halden “Hal” Scott

Age: 29

Birthday: October 17th

Specialty: Linguistics/Translation

Halden has always loved traveling. After spending most of his childhood experiencing the world with his diplomat parents, it only feels natural. It is a way for him to forget the horrors of the world for a moment. After what happened when he was fifteen, he certainly needed an escape. He still has scars to remind him of that day but now, after finding a home in his team, he finally feels like he can start putting all that behind him.

Name: Raymond “Ray” John Willmore

Age: 38

Birthday: June 11th

Occupation: [CLASSIFIED]

Specialty: Team Leader

Ray’s life is anything but quiet. Balancing family life and crime fighting isn’t easy but he wouldn’t trade it for anything. By continuing his job, he can make the world a better place for his children.

While Ray outranks his teammates, he thinks of them as his equals. If possible, he includes his team in the decision making and gives them an opportunity to give their opinions on their plans and operations. He wants to teach his team everything he knows, to make sure they’re the best of the best - the ones that survive.

Heyo! I’m a new OC whump blog!

Or technically not a new blog. I’m actually @whumpwriterforlife but I decided I wanted to make a separate blog for why OC whump snippets and all that. At this moment, I have six main OCs that you can check out on the Character Bios page :) They will all have their own introduction posts that I will post at some point. I do have other OCs as well and they might appear every once in a while as well. I don’t have a schedule or anything but every once in a while I hope to post my own OC related ficlets etc.

The blog is still under construction which is why, for example, the character bios look a bit weird. I’m fairly busy right now so the finishing touches will have to wait.

Feel free to send me asks about my OCs or anything or send me a message! I’m always up to chatting with new people :)
