Pretty Little Liars: The Original Sin

The fact that whoever is involved in RIVERDALE is gonna write the new Pretty Little Liars just makes me so MAD. That’s the worse tv show I’ve ever seen, the worse writting ever. I don’t want that to happen to PLL’s legacy, that will just ruin everything they’ve accomplished. Yes, PLL wasn’t perfect, there were lots of plot holes, it could have been better, but IT IS STILL A GOOD SHOW. Wayyyyy better than Riverdale can ever be. It’s just sad.

in Ace blowing up at Nancy about risking her life to prove she is not a Hudson

Only for her to prove she is a Hudson when it is his life she would be risking if she didn't

Take a good look at this moment. It’s what we’re probably going to be seeing for the rest of the season. Don’t be surprised if in the next few episodes:

-Ace becomes moody and bitchy toward Nancy

-He starts pulling away from her, both physically and emotionally

-He starts focusing more on his relationship with Amanda

Let’s face it: maybe in the heat of the moment he was, but ultimately, Ace is not mad at Nancy for handing that list over and endangering those people’s lives to save him. After all, it was GRANT who handed it over, and it was GRANT who never even considered NOT handing it over to begin with. Yet, Ace isn’t angry with Grant. He’s angry with Nancy. We need to be asking ourselves what the real reason is.

When Nancy joins Ace and Grant in the back room at The Claw and hands the list back to Ace, he seems fine with her. A little relieved, even, that she was able to get it back as promised. But then—THEN—he hears her make the comment in regards to Celia: “Now I owe her a favor.” That’s the precise moment he becomes distant. If you watch his reaction to hearing that, you can tell HE HATES THAT SO MUCH. He’s known all season long that Nancy has feared becoming like the Hudsons, and now she has just sold her soul to them. FOR HIM. And he doesn’t like that. He doesn’t want to be the reason Nancy loses her integrity. He doesn’t want to be the reason she owes ANYTHING to the Hudsons. Because he cares deeply for her. And because he loves her—whether he knows it yet or not.

Also, Ace can’t be angry with her about the list. Had their roles been reversed in that scene, you CANNOT TELL ME he wouldn’t have done the EXACT SAME THING for HER. There’s no way he would have let her die. And he knows this. HE KNOWS IT. And I think now, after Nancy explains that she did what she did because she couldn’t lose him, he knows there’s something going on between them. He told her in ep 2x01 that he didn’t want to lose her. Now she’s telling him she CAN’T lose him. He sees how upset she is. He feels how tight her embrace is. His is just as tight. But he’s scared to death at what this could all mean, and I’m assuming that’s going to cause him to push Nancy away. Big time.

I just have a feeling there is about to be a lot of angst between them as Nancy (maybe even next episode) comes to a full realization that she’s in love with him and then has to deal with the fact that 1) he’s mad at her, and 2) he has a girlfriend that he seems to like a lot. And honestly, I can’t wait to see it all unfold!

I haven’t liked Riverdale in so long, and with this “time jump” thing they had an opportunity to turn it around and make it something GOOD. And yet they screwed up AGAIN. I mean, Varchie is so toxic that it shouldn’t ever be a thing. I can’t believe Veronica would ever - as she’s written - be with someone like Archie, after he cheated on her TWICE. And oh don’t get me started on Bughead. Dammmmn guys, Jughead deserves so much better than Betty. I mean, COME ON. She cheated, TWICE. How? How do you even.....? I just.

Nancy wants to wrestle with Ace. This episode is hilarious.

So I think what we can take from 2x01 is confirmation that over the course of the show so far, Ace has quietly become a rock for Nancy. She honestly just expects him to be there for her because he has proven, time and time again, that he will be. With a life as tumultuous as hers has been lately, consistency is probably one of the things she craves most - and consistency is something that Ace has always offered.

When she realizes that he’s upset with her, it gives her this unsettled anxious feeling because of how she herself reacts to being angry. Anger, for Nancy, is sharp words and cold shoulders and virtual isolation of the wrongdoer. She desperately doesn’t want this to happen with Ace. As I mentioned before, he is such a growing and steady presence in her life and I don’t think she realized how much she truly values that up until now.

The reason she is so nervous during that last scene - and also why she keeps checking in on him throughout the entire episode - is because she’s afraid his anger is going to manifest in the same way hers usually does. She is terrified that he’s going to shut her out.

So when Ace softly reminds her that he believes in her and asks her to please not sacrifice herself again, her jaw literally drops a little bit. This is not at all the reaction she was expecting from someone who claims to be mad at her.

She’s incredibly taken aback by his decision to tell her how much he cares in this moment because it’s such a vastly different emotional response than what she is used to. He has exceeded her expectations (once again) by showing her kindness in a moment fueled with blame and fear. I think she’s relieved, but also more determined than ever to make things right with him.

Ace is constantly surprising her, but I really don’t think she was prepared for this one.
