Finishing out the week with Fern's fam.
Clyde's friend Nicole is pretty cute. (Desperately trying to figure out if they are or are not distant cousins)
(Seriously though if I had people just dropping by at my house out of the blue as often as these sims do, I would lose it)
And our green fiend Salvador has been promoted to Planet Patrol! Good thing he held off on retiring just yet.
Just sims stuff. (Including the random neighbor child reading a book on the dining room floor)

The legacy cousins! Hi Everett.
Getting a little tired of winter. Someone do something!!
Saved by mom.
Sal has his mind on all the things he could be doing this spring...
(Including beefing with the neighbor kid, I guess)

Okay, we're back. Picking up where we left off over at Fern's place.
Our girl is enjoying her elderhood.
Forrest stops over to visit pretty frequently, which is cute. (Patiently waiting for spring to come so we can finally evolve & weed all these plants..)
Leo is another creative little fella. Who immediately trashed these winter crafts after finishing them. Hmph.
Dude, it's like 10pm?

Oh yeah, I forgot -- can't escape roofing issues, even here.
Also, they did good with the soundtrack. I enjoy.
So, I messed around with Vivaland: Dream House a little.
The build tools remind me of TS2, actually. There are some things I think could be added, like being able to sort walls and floors by type, more curtain options, etc. I'd also like to be able to build on more than one lot in my town (I'm not super into multiplayer things). But it's been pretty fun and the graphics are quite nice. I'll be interested to see how things turn out with the full game.
But I'm not much of a builder, so I don't know how much my opinions count for this sort of thing, haha

All right, it's been sitting in my library long enough, let's go

The boys are back.
Clyde brought a friend, Alfred, home from school (who happens to be the neighborhood kid that Salvador is beefing with for whatever reason, lol)
Fern got home from work late, but with good news. Aspiration COMPLETE
A lovely evening in Newcrest.
Why does this family like hanging out in the cold so much?!

Finally all the kids are big enough to get up and get themselves breakfast.
I don't know if Leo is appreciating his dad's stories as much as he used to.
Oliver likes the cold weather.
Now off to school!

Guess what day it issss
Oh not another double birthday
Yep, our little Leo is about to become a child too.
Fern is working on maxing out her baking skill (so she made cookies too)
The two heirs! Luckily they're besties.
Clyde goes first.
He grew up into an adventurous, loyal Soulmate.
Now for baby Leo!
He's a cute little Social Butterfly who loves the outdoors (not that you can tell from this photo)

Things are a little more cheerful over at the Fern household.
Just some spares being cute.
Clyde is not letting go of Talk Like a Pirate Day easily.

Today is Paige's funeral.
Oh Forrest.
Forrest gave Paige's eulogy in the same chapel they were married in. 😢
Farewell to Paige, our evil gloomy klepto party animal. She managed to have an unexpectedly chill family life (aside from her secret fun hobby).
She made it to witness the ceremony. So did Forrest's neighborhood rival, in a disrespectfully inappropriate outfit.
The first in our family crypt.
I really have to work on this before the next funeral happens. Off to search for mausoleum inspo

The boys don't much feel like celebrating Harvestfest this year.
Poor Everett just keeps running to his bedroom to hide under the covers and grieve.
The Harvestfest traditions carry on, regardless. Gnomies, this is really not a good time.
Um. You were here overnight?
Anyway..
Fern couldn't stand to think of them being alone today, so she brought her family over to spend some time.
Forrest thought he ought to make a little something for the guests to eat, after all. (The gnomes aren't happy about being ignored.)
Fern started a little family club gathering, and they ended up having an all right Harvestfest despite it all.

It's happening.
Happy Harvestfest!?
Everett heard what was going on and woke up, too. I don't think he expected to lose his mom while he was still just a teen. Ohh, Everett...
He taketh, but he also give.

Paige has plans for today.
She traveled to their old neighborhood in Oasis Springs to, uh, pick up a few things.
(Sadly, she did not successfully swipe this grandfather clock - someone just had to walk in and catch her at just the right moment, hmph)
Things have really changed in the old neighborhood.
Not much of a successful day for Paige (although she did manage to nab a nice flower arrangement)
She worked on her painting skills instead.

Forrest may be the chief, but he still insists on being involved in the small day-to-day tasks like taking statements from citizens. (Beverly's son turned out to be cute)
(Also, it's weird that the game doesn't actually recognize the playable sim as police chief at the station once they reach that point in the career)
Speaking of, the new chief seems a little.. unhinged
We've been giving her office a wide berth.
Meanwhile, Paige has gotten some concerning news.
