This isn’t about Lewis vs Max.

Max Verstappen has never ran anyone over and he’s never had a DUI. It’s beyond me why anyone would fabricate such a harmful lie. I’ve seen people claiming this is “satire”, but irregardless of that, the amount of people who actually believe this is true is shocking. This tweet is truly disgusting.

I’m with @sixdegreesofbali on this one. I want it to be known that Max wasn’t being an asshole by ignoring team orders, that Max had a very good reason for not letting Checo past, and that reason was due to Checo’s own actions in Monaco. Deliberately crashing to secure his grid position and ensure his teammate doesn’t qualify ahead of him is undeniably cheating, and that, to use Checo’s own words, shows who he really is.

And all the people saying Max should be grateful to Checo for all the times he’s helped Max, clearly don’t understand the concepts of loyalty, trust, and betrayal - and I doubt they’d be so quick to forgive and forget if they were the ones in Max’s position.

Whatever Checo did for Max does not cancel out cheating. Max has every right to be pissed off. Looking at all the hate that Max is getting right now, it seems clear that these “fans” think cheating is acceptable, as long as it was done against Max.

Interesting, when he somehow didn't know why Max did what he did, he was happy to bad mouth Max to anyone who would listen especially if there was a camera around to film it. As soon he stepped away from the media pen and went to talk to Max he found out what his reasons were and that he's not nearly as blameless as he made himself out to be, suddenly it's an internal situation that will stay amongst the team and wouldn't be discussed publicly.

Anyway I hope this can truly be the end of it, they've both said their peace and can move on.
