I'm truly going to miss this game. I went back to it often even after getting Splatoon 3. (repurposed old art because I was too busy for something new today sadly)
Abracatastrophe and Wishology have the same issue where the second act is mostly not interesting and could be cut down significantly to improve things.
Chimpsdale and the extended Star Wars villain sequence really dont add much to either story
A big thing I like about Tumblr is how easy it is for really old art to continually get more love. Really does feel unlike other places where art can disappear out of the public consciousness after a few days
It's so cool how I'm completely unable to play the Splatfest due to connection issues and yet I can immediately go to Splatoon 1 and have a flawless connection my entire session. Really makes you think
This is one of my photos that was selected to be displayed at the SiP TGIF 2023 exhibition, which is taking place in December and January in SiP's own house gallery at Vita Magasinet, Karlholmsbruk, Sweden. 📷 🇸🇪
So no ceasefire being called by the ICJ fucking sucks don't get me wrong but also some fascinating things:
It was thought that 6 judges would vote in Israel's favour. They did not. This is huge because it means they do value international law and we may get some justice. (Apart from Uganda judge who voted against).
Hamas was told to release the hostages but not to stop fighting. If a ceasefire had been called they may have been compelled to stop also, especially as they tried to sweeten the pot with the court by saying that they would ceasefire if Israel does.
Israel has essentially been told it needs to stop the bombardments and fight on the ground (they wouldn't do this but that was never in any doubt). The court/judges are likely aware that Israel is getting it's arse handed to it on the ground. The court basically just told them to go lose the 'war'.
Both South Africa and Palestine are hailing this as a success. They believe international law has been upheld. They didn't think they'd get a ceasefire, their hopes were for some provisional measures and acknowledgement that this is likely genocide.
The confirmation that this is potentially genocide is a huge aid in our ongoing work to push for ending our governments arms sales and support of Israel.
As much as I am upset that the ceasefire was not called, this was still a far better result than the one I had dreaded.
