Golden Sun (Game Boy Advance, 2001 / Wii U Virtual Console, 2014)
An x86 Windows PC, as Wine and Proton might not make GamepadToMouse work on UNIX systems, so if you're using a Mac or other UNIX system (BSD, linux, etc) then just install Windows alongside your current OS. (On Intel Macs, use Bootcamp. For other UNIX systems, it's assumed you can either dual-boot Windows or recompile GTM on your own.)
An SD card, and a way to read/write files on it.
Local network access
Homebrew already set up on your Wii U Console
(If your Wii U hasn't had CFW installed yet, click here for the tiramisu guide. For those still using Coldboot Haxchi, or CBHC, just follow that same guide, it'll walk you through removing CBHC.)
Now, once you're prepared, here's what you do.
Click here to get GamepadToMouse, and unzip it to somewhere on your PC. You'll need to run it every time you wanna use the Gamepad like a drawing tablet.
Click here to get MiiSendU Wii U. Extract it to your Wii U's SD card at this location:
sd:\wiiu\apps
Find and take note of your PC's IP address. This can be done many ways, just google "Find local IP on my PC".
Open GamepadToMouse. You should see a window like this:
Hit "Start Server".
6. On your Wii U, open HBL and launch MiiSendU. Input your PC's IP address with the +Control Pad. (If your PC's IP address is static, that's even better because MiiSendU will remember the IP you put in, but will let you change it any time you start it)
7. Hit the (A) button to confirm and connect to your PC.
8. Congrats! Play around with the stylus or your finger, and see how it controls your mouse. It'll teleport your mouse to where you touch, and it'll follow your touch if you hold it and move.
9. Fiddle around with the settings in GamepadToMouse to make it work better for you, like the Screen Multiplier and Screen X/Y Offsets.
And, well, you're done! Now, for the controls:
ZL/ZR/A - Left click
L/R/B - Right click
Either analog stick - Scroll wheel up and down
Click in either analog stick - Mouse3/"Middle click"/Scroll wheel button
Every other button (X, Y, +, -, the +Control Pad, POWER, TV, and HOME) do nothing. I wish there was a way to map the extras to things like SHIFT and CTRL but sadly, no way exists yet.
got this package in the post yesterday from snuggumz_game_shop on instagram~ totally loving everything in it too. already have a wii u but the hdmi port is broken; hopefully this one has a working port so can play games on the tv and not be relegated to just the game pad. also loving the hilariously inaccurate art on the street fighter II card game (it's new and sealed btw, gonna leave it that way), and although I can't use the zapper gun due to only owning an hd tv, it's still awesome to have since I've never owned one before. and that magazine is SO COOL omg, love all the colour pics and tips 'n tricks and even the ads, it's so awesome. definitely a great package for me to receive in the post, lemme tell ya
