  Winter had a reputation of being harsh; long nights, cold weather, and slow-growing plants all led to it easily disposing of the unprepared. Even for something so non-mammalian as an automaton, that held true.  Palms flat, hands held themselves out to the fire in an attempt to warm himself, something that even WX-78 considered pitiful.    See? There was at least one advantage to being alone-- saving his dignity.

  The question Wilson asked was one WX-78 was extremely used to, albeit one he loathed to no end, and he responded to it in a tone --monotonous but raised somewhat-- that clearly displayed his distaste, "yes, I am not a human." Why it was so difficult for some to wrap their mind around that, he didn't know, just like he wasn't sure why people constantly rapped on his chest.

The scientist gently give soft knocks in the automaton’s chest. It seemed like there wasn’t anything inside. A smile appeared on his face, and his eyes sparkled with illusion.

"Are you really a robot?" He couldn’t hide the excitement on his voice!

  Despite his claims of disliking humans, to actually be one proved interesting, if not enjoyable. For the initial hour that he was stuck in such a state, WX-78 spent his time with his shoes off, watching his feet as he clenched and unclenched his toes or balled his hands into fists solely to feel the warmth that his body generated.    Entertained as he was, he stopped his antics the moment he heard the sound of footsteps. Be they those of a pig or some other mob, he didn't  know, though he didn't want to take any chances. Hands quickly grabbed his shoes and put them back on, and in a moment, he was standing, looking around for the potential adversary, spear raised before he found the source of the noise and--   Oh.   It was the mime.    Wes was somebody who WX only saw in small, fleeting glimpses, both of them constantly on the move, too busy to actually interact (though honestly he had no intention to interact with such a lowly human) and too suspicious of the other to find interest in his whereabouts. To put it frankly, WX disliked the mime for many reasons; he was silent, he was somewhat mysterious, and he was a human. Those three things were enough to keep him, for the most part, away from the other.   Though, he couldn't quite walk off in this scenario, not with Wes standing there and staring at him -- WX knew very well why, though he didn't want to acknowledge it -- so he was pushed into doing the exact thing he intended to never do-- speak to the human.    "What do you want?"
