King Candy's Trans Coding (hear me out)

The fact Turbo could've coded any look for himself, and yet he went with King Candy, an identity that embraces aspects of femininity. Gender nonconformity probably wasn't the intention- his design has more of a focus on being royal. Aka. "I'm superior to everyone." But even those outfits are more feminine-leaning, with the tights and frilly-lace fabric y'know. Not to mention his mannerisms. Being a silly clown guy is Not in fact a part of the gender binary

Also Turbo never seemed uncomfortable with his new identity as King Candy, and not only did he embrace it- He was OBSESSED with it. He put his FACE on EVERYTHING.

But one thing for sure is that King Candy doesn't resemble anything like his old self. That might've been out of necessity to stay hidden, but the "hiding old self and presenting in a new way" theme is Still There. And that new presentation happens to incorporate aspects of gender expression his previous identity did Not have. (am i looking too deep into this? perhaps.)

OH BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.

I find it interesting King Candy was never appalled by his new Cybug form. Cuz when encountering Ralph it was never: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME...

It was: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME :)

it was EUPHORIC for him. Because he IS a monster. "BECAUSE OF YOU RALPH, I'M NOW THE MOST POWERUL VIRUS IN THE ARCADE!!" This form finally reflects his true self and what brings him the most joy. and that just so happens to mean being parasitic, powerful, and sadistic. which. well he should work on that

But what matters is he's in a drastically different body now and he LOVES IT. this is literally the HAPPIEST he's been ALL MOVIE. Is That Not a form of Identity/Gender Euphoria.... ? ??

People joke about characters with limited screen time hitting a fandom like a bowling ball hitting pins, but the Turbo Time Twins (I don't think that was officially coined, that's what people call them) had 2 static images and they're in fanart, fanfiction, the works. Why?

I think it's a testiment to how good Wreck it Ralph is with exposition, both outright (Having Sonic Give a PSA in regenerating, King Candy's speech about the Roster Race being a daily thing that makes sense for video game characters, who repeat their lines all the time) and purely visual - like the Turbo Time game. We have Felix's voice over, but we gleam the rest of the situation through these images. Felix doesn't SAY that Turbo was a jerk or that he rubbed in his victories, all he says was that he loved the attention, a bit grimly. This shot of Turbo getting in his fellow racer's faces tells us EVERYTHING in a second:

Turbo loved the attention all right, but he was also a bad sport about it all. His coworkers disliked him. We know right away what kind of character we're dealing with: an arrogant show-pony, whose immature. It's important that the twins weren't glaring ruefully at Turbo BEFORE he shoved his trophy in their faces, they were faving at the screen. If they were moping in this shot, it wouldn't have the same effect. That gives us a little hint that these guys were, at least, more graceful losers than Turbo was. And were sick of him. We get all kinds of ideas of what they're dynamic is. And since nothing was ever outright stated, people could come up with all sorts of headcanons.
