So much for putting  ‘Doctor’  in your title. He knew Strange maintained proper medical and surgical knowledge in that beautiful mind of his. Perhaps buried behind arrogance and a slew of reckless ideas. Though Stephen is nothing if not one of the most valuable people in the superhero community.

“Doc, you’re lying so terribly right now, even your  cloak  is pantomiming disbelief. If you’re out of anything, it’s gauze and rubbing alcohol.”

Age was a son of a bitch, no matter how you put it. You could put it in terms of joint pain, sterility, or just plain done-ness, but it always looked the same: unflattering and boring. And while unflattering he’d maybe grown into lately, boring he certainly had not. Boring didn’t really come with the territory of a sorcerer, but sometimes he did wonder as to how much white, middle-aged-ness might still interrupt that.

On other days, he knew that it wasn’t age that got the best of him, and he didn’t have such worries. Instead, he only worried about what gray hairs he’d earned himself, or which years he’d traded for the magic that would reclaim its debt when finally his soul wandered into hell in some wing-tip shoes. Those were the times when he worried, more than he did about getting old or ineffectual. He worried about how much magic he spent, how his lackluster life expectancy might affect the people that relied on him. People like Peter, who was currently looking at him like he deserved to be in the OR getting his guest re-sewn.

Which may or may not have been far from the truth, but not in any human OR and not in any way that Peter deserved to worry himself over. “Look, I know this looks terrible,” he said, feeling the slide of blood on his lips and trying to not be grateful that somehow it was making the process of speaking easier on his throat and tongue.

“But just think of it as me being out of… I don’t know, mana, or something. Soon as I get back to the Sanctum I’ll be fit as a fiddle… relatively.” Which was to say that “as soon as” was as relative as “fit” was due to be.

The Other {Demonically Possessed Peter AU}

Explanation: This verse can be set post-PS4 game story, and is also intended as my idea of what Mephisto could’ve done for Peter other than what conspired in the One More Day storyline.  As well, Peter has never been a symbiote host in this au.

In this verse, Peter is taken over by an unhinged spirit that represents the vengeance he holds back. He’s still pretty docile around his friends, family, and lovers, but he’s nothing if not bothersome in how different he’ll seem when talking about his rogues and the miscellaneous thugs of Manhattan. He’s a relentless bruiser, so expect him to not play nice.  In fact, expect the worst that he could do when not pulling his punches. Throughout this month, this’ll be a limited au focusing on Peter Parker doing what I imagine he might do with a demon bending his will. His suit will change, and further down the road his powers, abilities will temporarily enhance, making him seem like an entirely different arachnid themed crusader. And one with a more malicious agenda that may or may or not involve murder, I’m debating it with myself if that’s good development.

      FELICIA IS STOPPED IN HER TRACKS BY THE costumed hero and she stutters to a halt. there’s a soft whine and she looks around him at the fire tearing through the chemistry lab. she had just seen peter heading in this direction and he’d disappeared. how could spider-man even try to tell her he was fine, that he wasn’t in the pile of burning ruble. a frustrated whine escapes her and she tries her best to side step the man, knowing that it’s going to be a failed attempt… but at least she can try. “i saw him head this way. he didn’t come back. he’s gotta be in there and you’ve gotta get him out. please. if you don’t, i’ll go get him myself.” okay, so maybe rushing headfirst into a burning building wouldn’t really be her course of action. but still she could threaten it. “how the hell did you get here so fast, anyways? did you start it?”

“I’ve got a recon bug for situations like this.  And a slightly higher tolerance for pain.”  He tapped awake the spider-bot emblem on his chest, and it automatically swept the classroom for signs of life. The former mentioned upper-hand he has in this setting would assure her that no one was there after a scan of organic heat signatures would feed to his mask confirming no one dead nor alive would be in there. Midtown Academy safety and security guidelines and provisions. They sure beat most Manhattan public school systems of care and maintenance.  Even if the staff are still rather lazy...

“I’m ending it.  K.A.R.E.N., ready the hydro-webs.  Scan  for non-damaged extinguishers and the nearest switch for a suppressant system.”

He looked like he could take good poses, but his promises of real news were empty.  “He doesn’t make use of the positive ones about me. Not that he wouldn’t ever come around to singing my praises someday, but I don’t think that’s happening any time soon.”
