Assorted Tips For Setting Up Your Spell Farm Pt 1
Tumblr media
Been making a lot of progress on my current spell farm while laid up with food poisoning. Some of these are quality of life focused, some of these are related to my actual spellcasting process.
(disclaimer that as always, anything directly magic-related may not work for you the same way they work for me!)
If you want an off-farm area to set up shop (or if you've started a new file and everything is kind of an overflowing mess), try working out of the backwoods north of the farm. Nobody ever walks through any part of that zone so you can do most things without worrying about pathing conflicts.
Torches are super, super useful if you're doing work that requires a long term power or light source. Similarly, campfires and braziers are great if you need one that can be turned off and on again.
if you have a dedicated spellcrafting building, keep a chest or two inside with stuff you find you're using frequently.
I've found I can use fences, gates, and paths to direct energy—paths can direct it somewhere specific, gates can allow controlled access or serve as a power switch, and fences can act as a barrier
if you want a sigil that'll be destroyed when you're done with it, use the hoe to dig your design into the dirt somewhere off the farm before you go to bed.
if you're big on sound cleansing, the Singing Stone and/or Flute and Drum blocks might be good things for you to have on your farm.

Jk I have an actual ask now: how do you go about actually making your spells in stardew? With it not being entirely up to the player where you can place things and what you can pick up and what not, how do you come up with ideas as to what you can do? (My uncertainty is probably to do with the fact that I haven’t the slightest clue what the mechanics actually are save from what I hear from my friends feral rants about the supermarket and eels)
So this ended up being a suuuper long post and I am so sorry lmao. Tried to break it up into sections to make it a little easier to read!
GET TO KNOW THE GAME
The first step to coming up with spells was to learn my medium, to put it in art terms. I played the game purely for the sake of playing the game for a while, and more or less completed several files before I decided to figure out spellcasting. By then I'd had the mechanics memorized enough that everything is second nature now, which means I actually don't really know how to explain it very well in a way that makes sense to other people!
In a nutshell, I'd sorted out how decorating the farm works, what crops I like/don't like growing (which helps for associations!), etc., but also the negative mechanics like "leaving Jack o Lanterns outside on the last night of fall means they'll turn into rotten glurge on the first day of winter" and "villagers walking through your stuff can break or uproot it so be careful where you put stuff if you're sticking things in town".
GET TO KNOW YOUR SPELL ITEMS
So the first solid step I took when I decided to start branching out into using the game for tech magic was to start sorting out my associations/correspondences for villagers and items. This is a massive work in progress because of how much stuff there is in the game and I'm nowhere close to done with actually transcribing it all, but for items I generally use a combination of traditional correspondences and what feels Correct to me.
(This is probably where I'd suggest anyone looking to get into Stardew as a method of casting start—like, at least sort out a few things you think you're going to use a lot— because your process for forming associations is inherently going to be different than mine!)
HOW THE SPELLCRAFTING PROCESS GENERALLY GOES DOWN FOR ME
(Heads up that my practice frequently relies on sympathetic magic and energy work and has since the early days of starting to work with magic. That was five years ago now, so at this point I'm by no means an expert but I have enough practice that I have a comparatively easy time using things that aren't physically there in spellcraft— this may be something that requires a fair bit of practice for other peeps. Adding this warning because I don't want to assume everybody shares my background!)
So when I craft a spell I work backwards. I figure out my goal, what timing (real world and/or in game), villagers, or items would assist in my goal if necessary, draw up a rough plan for what I want to happen in the spell itself then I just... fuck around with each step independently before casting.
I do test runs for each step I want in a spell without actually casting it to make sure it's something I can pull off, sort of like a series of miniature dress rehearsals. If I don't like how it feels or if the mechanics won't let me pull it off, I rework that step on the spot. I will do this as many times as I need to with as many steps as I need to until I have a spell that I feel flows smoothly. This is why I recommend a rough guide, because sometimes things just won't work the way you want them to and you have to rework.
On a final note I do most of my spellwork on my farm because you're pretty free of restrictions and don't run into nonsense like the villager pathing issue I mentioned earlier as often lmao.
I feel like this was incredibly rambly and didn't answer your question but it's the best explanation I've got, I'm so sorry if this wasn't helpful!

Farm Pet Associations And Ideas For How To Use Them In Your Craft
Tumblr media
note that these are my own personal correspondences and what each pet symbolizes will likely vary from person to person! Adjust according to your own personal practice for best results.
Cats
I associate cats with love, magic, liminal spaces, boundaries, protection magic, concealment, and a little bit of mischief!
Dogs
I associate dogs with love, comfort, loyalty, friendship, nostalgia, and a feeling of safety.
My personal pet choice
Personally I always take a dog, specifically the hound with the floppy brown ears. That said, it's... admittedly less for magical reasons and more because he looks enough like my late heart dog that I haven't been able to pick any other pet since 1.4 dropped.
So What Can You Do With Pets? A Couple Suggestions
please note that these are just suggestions and deliberately vague— that way you can adapt them (or not) to your own practice in ways that work for you!
if you have a dog or cat of your own, use the one that looks closest to yours (or use a mod to make the critter look like yours, if that's a thing you want to/can do) and cast a spell so when you bond with the critter every day in game it helps strengthen your bond with the real critter
use energy work to program your farm pet to do some basic magical chores for you while wandering around. Stuff like refreshing your wards, cleaning up spell debris, etc.
work their daily movements around your farm into a spell or sigil and use them to charge it
if you work with a deity or spirit who's connected to cats or dogs and they're okay with it, consider using watering/petting the critter as a mini offering!

Just wanted to give y'all an update-- my housing situation is finally sorted!!! The initial thing fell through but a family member got a second place in a nice quiet area and they're letting me rent it once they finish doing a tiny bit of work!
Which is great because my neighbors are continuing to suck enormous amounts of butts (actually they're getting worse. Rip my sleep).
So my Switch is in storage till I move but hopefully I can get back to posting soon! I'd really like to be able to more than once every eight months or whatever lol, but that'll probably have to wait till I properly move and won't have to camp out at my parents' on the weekend to get any sleep at all.

Spell followup notes #1
I also intended to use this blog for a spell notebook, so I'm gonna... do that, lawl. Gonna call these posts the Shedkeeper's Scratchings, and today's spell is the Bad Birthday Bouquet.
So this spell was a success. I said do better or drown in it, and he's thoroughly picked drown in it.
Like he's always been kind of a whiny crybaby but wow he's achieved new levels since I cast this. He treats everybody like dirt, is enormously full of himself and very rude, then throws tantrums where he whines that nobody does anything for him.
Effects under the cut.
The effects
Exhibit A: he straight up threw a two hour long tantrum about how nobody cares about what he wants.
Why? Because he's homophobic af.
The one mutual friend we have left was playing a character in part of a roleplay campaign and the character has a subtle bi pride pin on their outfit.
That's it. That was the whole source of the tantrum.
The character didn't even go on a date or anything in the campaign, he just randomly flipped shit.
for two hours.
Over a pin.
This is a grown ass 30+ year old man.
The mutual friend was obviously incredibly unimpressed!
Exhibit B: he talks a lot about a lot of depressive symptoms that are out of the wheelhouse of anybody without professional mental health training. He also cries that how nobody tries to help him anymore.
Thing is I've been shown proof he's refused offers to help him find a professional on multiple occasions (even though there's no financial, insurance, or other issues that would prohibit him from doing so). He just straight up thinks he's better than people who seek out help when they need it.
There's more, but the long and the short of it is people seem to finally properly realize he feels entitled to people's attention despite being a nasty judgy butthole basically all of the time, and that he throws tantrums if he doesn't get attention in the way he thinks he deserves.
Final observations
I was kinda hoping in spite of myself that he'd choose to do better but he's been like this for so long I'm not really surprised it's working out this way. I'd suggest being very careful how you word what you're aiming for with this one if you want a more controlled effect-- I wasn't picky with this guy because well obviously, but if you are that's something to keep in mind.

Stardew Correspondences: Gemstones and Metals
Tumblr media
(Note: these are my personal correspondences. Feel free to use, but be aware they may not work for you without some tweaking to adjust for your personal practice. These may or may not correspond to their real world counterparts so always do your own research on those! Finally, 1.5 content will have its own list so it's not on here.)
Gemstones
Quartz- new beginnings, blank slates. Great for storing power for gifting based spells.
Lava Quartz- protection from magic or psychic attack, element of fire.
Amethyst- wisdom, focus, emotional stability, knowledge, element of air.
Aquamarine- ebb and flow, the tides, ends and beginnings of cycles, travel-based spells, the element of water.
Emerald- self worth, self esteem, spells for personal improvement amd confidence in general
Jade- healing, peace, justice, nature, element of earth.
Ruby- passion, ambition, drive, motivation, strength. Can be used in place of Lava Quartz.
Topaz- happiness, joy, good vibes, sunshine (weather magic)
Diamond- clarity, sharpness, enhancing intuition or psychic skills, seeing the truth, snow/ice (weather magic). Can be used in spells to break curses or reveal people's true nature to others.
Prismatic Shard- luck, rainbows, creativity, art magic. Due to the rainbow, can also add extra oomph to spells for queer or LGBTQIA+ things-- stuff like having a great pride month, reducing dysphoria, making friends within in the community. or not being hassled in public. Can also easily be used in color correspondence based spells!
Metals
Copper- malleability, evolution, transformation.
Iron- protection, security, safety.
Gold- Wealth, abundance, prosperity.
Iridium- hardness, inflexibility, rigidity. Can be used to block bad influences from spreading, or stop your own spells if you need to do that for whatever reason.

Do you have the summer correspondence up yet? I noticed it in your table of contents, but not in any posts. Thank you for making this blog and the idea of magical working so fun! You've renewed my love for the craft and stardew valley!
No I don't yet, sorry! It's in progress (like a quarter of the way done), but I've been incredibly busy since late summer and don't multitask real well haha.
I'm so glad the Spell Shed is helping you reconnect with both your craft and SDV though!

I was gonna write up a whole thing about this but someone else did a way better job!
This is why I always say you'll probably have to tweak my correspondence lists, personal associations have a lot of impact!
The problem with correspondences
Beginner witches, listen up.
When I started practising, one of the first things I did was put correspondence lists into my grimoire. Or, I tried to. You see, correspondences are individual. To some extent, they’re based on history, folklore, mythology and medicine - but they’re also highly personal. You can look at ten different correspondence tables for the same herb, and depending on the herb, you’ll get similar answers - but you can also get highly divergent ones. The result? I ended up writing 5-20 different correspondences for a bunch of herbs and crystals that I had never even heard of. Do I remember them now, 7 years on? Hell no.
There’s a few problems with this:
You don’t know which source to trust.
Sources may totally conflict.
You don’t know why those correspondences are listed.
You won’t know what you can and can’t swap out of a spell.
Correspondence tables often don’t provide sources or reasoning.
You may not have those associations, so they may not actually help you.
Correspondences are tools. They help you to focus your intent in your craft. What’s the point in getting the “right” colour, herb, crystal, element, and moon phase for every spell when you don’t understand why you’re using them, or they don’t help you focus your intent?
So, what’s the solution? Figure out your own correspondences.
This doesn’t have to be difficult! Let’s say I’m doing a spell because I have a cold. For me, being sick is associated with soup, lemon, orange, honey and ginger - because my Nan used to make me a hot drink with the last few ingredients in it. So maybe I’ll make that drink, or maybe I’ll make soup with fresh ginger in it. I’ll stir the pot widdershins first, to “banish” the sickness (because I associate counter clockwise with banishment or getting rid of something), then deosil to “bring” or “grow” my health (because those are my associations for clockwise). See? Easy!
Okay, so how exactly do you come up with correspondences?
Well, some of them are pretty immediate. Think associating mistletoe with Christmas, or plants in your area that only bloom at certain points of the year. You can also consider:
history, mythology and folklore: throughout history, there have been associations with certain plants, colours etc. that you can read up on. Some examples include associating purple with wealth or success because the dye for purple clothing was highly expensive (Roman emperors wore it) and associating rosemary with remembrance, as mentioned in Hamlet.
medicinal properties: even if you aren’t interested in herbalism, you could include plants with medicinal properties in healing spells.
local associations: this is pretty likely to cross over with history and folklore, but considering local associations is important, too - especially since associations in world history and mythology may not apply to you and your path. You might also have certain associations with “local” in a general sense (see my post about food correspondences below).
cultural associations: think “pumpkin” for October, even in countries where aren’t particularly common. Are there any cultural associations that you have with particular things? (These may be some of your “stronger” associations.)
personal associations: what’s your personal experience? Did you fall into a rosebush as a kid, so you’d rather associate roses with pain than with love? Did your first crush give you a green handbag, so green is a colour of love for you? What do you find comforting?
These aren’t the only aspects to consider, but it’s a starting point. Depending on the type of correspondence you’re looking for, you could consider other aspects, too (like farming calendars for month associations and seasonal foods).
This isn’t to say there’s anything wrong with using or posting correspondence lists - I’ve posted some myself. They can be really useful - but be aware that those are someone else’s correspondences, not yours, and they may not work the same way for you as they do for someone else - and that’s okay! You have your own resources and your own experiences, and it’s your craft.
I hope this helps! Check out my other posts about coming up with your own correspondences:
How to correspondence: food & herbs
How to correspondence: when to spell

Hey, I'm the anon who created a new save file to give villagers gifts to boost certain things. Trying to help myself find a partner, I accidentally gave Jodi a daffodil, which she doesn't like. There goes my love life 😭
Oh geez that's a rough break!! Unfortunately sometimes these things happen, and for reference here's how I undo that (if you don't have a better method sorted out already.)
What I do, in a nutshell, is reverse it.
I'll do the exact same ritual or whatever other things I did before giving them the hated gift, but instead I use things that character loves (regardless of their correspondences).
Since you've started a new file and probably won't have access to anything Jodi loves just yet, you can also do it twice with two items she likes instead! The only downside with two liked items is that depending on how long it's been in game, you might have to wait till the next in-game Sunday to do it the second time due to the weekly gift limit.
Personally I'd use a couple spare Amethysts or Topaz if you've been lucky enough to find multiples, but she also likes all of the food Gus always sells at the Saloon except Bread-- Salad is the cheapest at 220 gold and Spaghetti is the second cheapest at 240.
Hopefully this'll help you sort this out.

I love the villager association post! I think I'm going to create a new save file (or use my main) to give gifts to villagers that correspond with what I need right now! It's perfect that I'm marrying Haley on my main cause I can use all the happiness I can get lol. Your work is awesome, keep it up!
Eyy thank you so much!!!
I think we could all use a bit more happiness right now lol so that's a great place to start. Let me know how it works out, and don't be afraid to mess around with stuff if you feel like it's not working!!

Villager Associations and Spell Suggestions
Tumblr media
(Note: these are my personal correspondences and based off my experiences and personal feelings. Feel free to use, but be aware they may not work for you without some tweaking. Also, this list doesn't contain any 1.5 content, or villagers who can't be given gifts like Marlon.)
I've called this an association list and not a correspondence list because I'm doing this a bit differently. Instead of giving a detailed list of stuff, I'm giving my primary correspondence, an in-game item I associate with the character with, and some magical (or magic-adjacent) things you can do to connect with the character.
Pierre- I associate Pierre with ambition and use a Treasure Chest as his symbol. Suggested activities include magic to help get/ace job interviews, performance assessments, or other things that can help you further your goals and/or career.
Caroline- I associate Caroline with gardening and use a Green Tea Leaf as her symbol. Suggested activities include green magic, specifically gardening spells.
Abigail- I associate Abigail with exploration and use an Ancient Sword as her symbol. Suggested activities include protection magic, spells for courage, death magic, or spells to try and get a smothering parent to back off.
Jodi- I associate Jodi with love of all kinds and use an Ornamental Fan as her symbol. Suggested activities include spells to help strengthen a relationship (with the other person's consent!), spells to help forgive, and hearth magic of all kinds.
Kent- I associate Kent with trauma and use a daffodil for his symbol. Suggested activities include spells for things like anxiety and shadow work. (But don't stop your mental health regimen if you have one without talking to a professional about it, whether that's therapy, medication, etc)
Sam- I associate Sam with music and use an Ancient Drum as his symbol. Suggested activities include experimenting with the effects of music on your spellcasting, writing a chant, or crafting a spell based off of a song you like.
Vincent- I associate Vincent with energy and movement and use Cranberry Candy as his symbol. Suggested activities include energy work and looking into mindful walking or other forms of meditation that don't involve sitting perfectly still.
Emily- I associate Emily with textiles and use a bolt of Cloth as her symbol. Suggested activities include knot and thread magic, embroidering sigils on your stuff, learning how to sew poppets, or astral travel.
Haley- I associate Haley with seeing the true nature of things and use a Pink Cake as her symbol. Suggested activities include revealing spells, happiness spells, and baking bread/sweets and enchanting them for health, happiness, etc.
George- I associate George with the passage of time and use an Ancient Fruit as his symbol. Suggested activities include ancestor veneration (whether that's your actual ancestors or ancestors of choice) or trying something like Write Your Witchcraft once a year to see what's changed in your practice.
Evelyn- I associate Evelyn with flowers, and use a Tulip as her symbol. Suggested activities include planting a garden (either for real or in-game) based on magical correspondences, exploring stuff like flower crown magic, or just learning how to take better care of your plants.
Alex- I associate Alex with effort and practice, and use a Large Egg of either color as his symbol. Suggested activities include practicing areas of your craft you feel need improvement and spells related to athletics.
Pam- I associate Pam with travel and use a Model Ship decoration as her symbol. Suggested activities include making travel altars or shrines, blessing spells for safe travel, and spells to get your bags to the same place you're going.
Penny- I associate Penny with dreams and use a Poppy as her symbol. Suggested activities include astral travel, keeping a dream journal, and dream magic as a whole.
Robin- I associate Robin with building and crafts, and use a piece of Wood or Hardwood as her symbol. Suggested activities include picking up new crafts and seeing how to work them into your practice or doing something like this exercise to get a detailed idea of how your practice has been built.
Demetrius- I associate Demetrius with the mind and use a Purple Mushroom as his symbol. Suggested activities include things like keeping a journal of spells where you record successes/failures/unplanned effects and working on or dusting off your critical thinking/discernment skills.
Sebastian- I associate Sebastian with solitude and use a Yeti's Tear as his symbol. Suggested activities include hexing, banishing, and techno magic.
Maru- I associate Maru with innovation and use a Battery as her symbol. Suggested activities include spellcrafting, cosmic magic, techno magic, and astrology.
Marnie- I associate Marnie with animals and use Apples as her symbol. Suggested activities include things like pet blessings, connecting with your familiar, or communication with an animal guide.
Shane- I associate Shane with recovery and use the Chicken Statue as his symbol. Suggested activities include self love spells and shadow work.
Jas- I associate Jas with imagination and use a Fairy Rose for her symbol. Suggested activities include visualization exercises and exploring how to safely create servitors.
Elliott- I associate Elliott with literature and writing, and use a Duck Feather as his symbol (since I can't give him a feather pen haha). Suggested activities include reading magical/witchy books with a critical eye, creating spells inspired by your favorite books/stories/folktales, updating your grimoire or book of shadows, or writing letters to entities you work with.
Leah- I associate Leah with the fine arts, and use landscape paintings as her symbol. Suggested activities include incorporating color symbolism into your spells, sigilcraft, and art magic at large.
Harvey- I associate Harvey with healing and use a Dandelion as his symbol. Suggested activities include healing spells (along with seeking physical or mental health care if necessary, because magic is not a substitute for science or help from a professional) and energy work.
Linus- I associate Linus with freedom and use seasonal foraging items as his symbol. Suggested activities include cursebreaking, cord cutting rituals, and learning the magical correspondences of your local plants and flowers.
Clint- I associate Clint with fire and the forge, and use an Iron Bar as his symbol. Suggested activities include candle magic, flame divination, smoke cleansing, enchanting your jewelry, researching the magical uses of various metals, and including the metals in your practice.
Gus- I associate Gus with kitchen magic and use cooked food dishes as his symbol. Suggested activities include practicing kitchen witchcraft, researching/crafting potions that are safe to consume, and making sure you have something to eat or drink on hand after casting a spell.
Lewis- I associate Lewis with power and use the Solid Gold Lewis Statue as his symbol. Suggested activities include volunteering to lead a group ritual or casting political resistance magic.
Krobus- I associate Krobus with the moon and use a Void Essence as his symbol. Suggested activities include using moon phases in your craft, concealment spells, glamours, and spells to help you sleep.
Sandy- I associate Sandy with the sun and use a Solar Essence as her symbol. Suggested activities include spells for happiness, luck, or prosperity and exploring the use of solar energy in your craft.
Willy- I associate Willy with water and I use a Crab as his symbol. Suggested activities include sea magic, mermaid magic, bath/shower spells, and water magic at large.
Rasmodius, the Wizard- I associate the Wizard with magic itself and use a piece of Iridium Ore as his symbol. Suggested activities include scrying, divination, spirit work, or studying an area of magical theory you're curious about.
The Dwarf- I associate the Dwarf with the earth and use an Omni Geode as his symbol. Suggested activities include grounding and rock/fossil/crystal work.

On here will be spells, correspondences, and other things that I've documented from my personal bos along with any requests that you guys may have for correspondences and spells. Since I don't have alot of materials and am broom closeted this is a way for me to do intricate rituals and spells without exposing myself.

Hey there! I love your blog, is it ok if I make a blog inspired by this one, except with minecraft magic?
(I'm so sorry if this was in here for ages!! Tumblr only bothers to give me notifications on occasion for some reason)
Thank you so much, and yeah absolutely!! I was actually inspired by a Minecraft spell to begin with so that's sort of fitting, all things come full circle haha.

Map Selection: Some Observations
Tumblr media
I stuck most of this under a cut because this mentions a couple things from patch 1.5, which at the time I'm writing this is still not out on mobile yet.
One of them is a moderate spoiler for some endgame content so if you're a mobile-only SDV player with spoiler concerns, you might want to come back to this one later.
After a lot of experimentation I've found that I have an easier time casting certain types of spells on certain maps. This is my list of what worked easily and what made me put a lot more effort into it on each map.
(Obligatory disclaimer that these are my observations and experiences-- yours will almost certainly vary.)
Standard: It's a pretty good all around farm. It doesn't pull me towards any particular category of magic but it doesn't make me feel pushed away from anything, either.
Riverland: I think this could be a good fit for people whose craft is heavily water based but not necessarily ocean based. I've also found luck, healing, and divination enhancing spells tend to be pretty easy to cast here, and the 'running water' of the river seems to make cleansing pretty painless. That said I've struggled a bit with getting glamours and concealments to work.
Forest: In all honesty this is not my favorite map-- it has fewer tillable tiles compared to the other options and it's something I find kind of frustrating. But if you're not put off by that or you have a strong connection to plants/the forest, work with entities connected with anything related to forests, or just do a lot of green magic, this could be an awesome choice! I try to avoid any magic that includes representations of fire if I'm working on this map though, I found it to be not worth the extra effort I had to exert.
Hill-top: I've found this one is good for connecting with the elements of earth and fire could be helpful for folks who need to do a lot of grounding, and could be useful for folks who use (or would like to use) lots of crystals, rocks, or metals in their craft, or cast draconic magic. On the flip side, it's always a bit of a fight with spells to enhance things like astral travel, past life work, or lucid dreaming on this one.
Wilderness: I'd try this one if you do a lot of attack-oriented magic (things like banishing, binding, curses, etc. the monsters can serve as poppets!). It also might be worth looking into this farm if you do death magic, cast a lot of spells at night or if you're somebody who works with entities sometimes considered to be 'dark'-- I feel a stronger connection to my hellhound and demon spirit companions when I'm doing work on this farm. I've found healing magic to be more of a fight here though.
Four Corners: this one has always seemed great for casting defensive and protective magic to me since it's surrounded by walls on all sides and there's obstacles to prevent access from one part of the farm to another. It also works well with seasonal based magic in my experience. Curses, hexes, and return to sender spells are easier to cast on other maps though.
Beach: this has been my farm of choice since the day 1.5 went live on Switch, haha. This is probably a great option for folks who do sea magic and could also be really useful for folks who focus on the moon (because of the tides), weather and wind magic, glamours, frequently cast mermaid magic, or work with ocean related entities. But I probably wouldn't recommend it for folks who are totally new to SDV since you can't put sprinklers in the sand so you won't be able to do much hands-off farming till you're a decent way into the game compared to the maps released in earlier patches. On a related note, green magic has been a little uncooperative.
Ginger Island Farmhouse: I know it's not a starter map, but it's still a farm lol. I use the island farm for ocean magic but also solar magic, blessings, cosmic magic, and spells for happiness or abundance. Seasonal magic is a struggle though, as is anything I try to.cast at night.

Stardew Correspondences: Winter
Tumblr media
(Note: these are my personal correspondences. Feel free to use, but be aware they may not work for you without some tweaking to adjust for your personal practice. Also, a lot of these likely will not apply to the real world counterparts to these items so always do further research. Additionally, these seasonal correspondence lists do not contain items released in patch 1.5 as they were written well in advance. Those items will have their own list.)
Foraging
Crocus- a bright spot where you didn't expect one, signs of life, revitalizing something you thought was finished
Crystal Fruit- delicacy, gentleness, reversal (meaning it can be used in tandem with other items with nastier effects when creating a spell to protect from those things).
Holly- toxicity, nastiness hidden behind a pleasing exterior, don't eat that (not necessarily literal-- like literally don't eat that as you'll lose a ton of energy, but "don't eat that" is my shorthand for "this person/situation/whatever is bad for you, get out of there").
Snow Yam- hiding, repressing, checking below the surface. Can also be used to symbolize snow or winter itself.
Winter Root- hidden sustenance, taking comfort in the unknown
Fish
Albacore (also found in fall)- compromise, diplomacy, seeing both sides, finding middle ground
Blobfish (night market submarine only)- out of your comfort zone, out of the deep end
Halibut (also found in spring, summer)- to see the truth, to cut through artifice or glamours
Herring (also found in spring)- beginnings and ends, duality, extremes
Lingcod- extreme aggression, explosive anger, violence. Can be used alongside a crystal fruit or similar to craft fairly powerful protection spells.
Midnight carp (also found in fall)- shyness, timidity, being a wallflower, trying to come out of your shell
Midnight squid (night market submarine only)- accepting your negative traits, figuratively embracing the darkness
Perch- Connection to winter. Can be used to strengthen magic cast in winter, winter weather-focused spells, or connect with deities whose domains include the season.
Pike (also found in summer)- irritant, annoyance
Red Mullet (also found in summer)- domesticity, companionship, close bonds
Red Snapper (only found when using Rain Totem; more easily found in summer, fall)- childhood memories, nostalgia, comfort in the past
Sardine (also found in spring, fall)- stealth, secrecy, staying hidden
Sea cucumber (also found in fall)- evasion, avoidance
Spook fish (night market submarine only)- nightmares, bad dreams, anxiety, creepiness in general
Squid- deliberately pushing parts of yourself/personality into the dark, shutting yourself away
Sturgeon (only found when using Rain Totem, more easily found in summer)- luxury, wealth, abundance, success after a struggle
Super Cucumber (night market submarine only; more easily found in summer, fall)- magic, magical power, magical inspiration. Best used as an ingredient to strengthen other spells, or kept on hand while trying to create a spell.
Tiger trout (also found in fall)- combinations, mixing things up
Tuna (also found in summer)- being noticed, impactful first impressions, someone with a large personality.
Walleye (only found when using Rain Totem, more easily found in fall)- aggression, wrath, anger.
