Only my opinion. Anything can happen in SMASHSephiroth — Unlikely maybe 5% chance

If I may comment on Geno vs Crono, Geno is a cool and obscure character from one of the Big Five of SNES RPGs, and he would add personality to the game, and be another long Ranged character. Crono, despite being in the Big Five, is lacking in personalityand would be yet another swordsman. I love the Fire Emblem characters to bits, but there are a lot of swordsmen. And Geno is a big part of Nintendo​ and Square's history. Chrono Trigger is more of a cult classic comparatively.

I personally think an Arms rep is likely especially Spring Man and Ribbon Girl. Possibly as palette swaps similar to Inkling and Robin.Spring Man — 50% chance

How likely do you think Galacta Knight is as an echo fighter of Meta Knight?

Galacta Knight would definitely work as an echo for Meta Knight and would add another villain which would be great. However I think Meta Knight still has a palette swap very similar to Galacta Knight which I think lowers his chances.My opinion only. Anything could happen Galacta Knight — 20% chance

I don’t understand why people want Geno so much, if there is another square rep I would want Crono.

I’ve seen both characters requested for Smash. Everyone has their on personal reasons for wanting a specific character. Hard to say why because everyone is a unique individual

With all those indie games being released on the switch I think there might be a chance that there will be an indie game rep for smash. And with the character poll I think shantae would be the pick. I’d be hyped for that. She has history with Nintendo and was a popular pick in the ballots

I agree friend her history with Nintendo makes me believe she’s the most likely Indie character for Smash Bros. Just my opinion though

Everyone, their Grandmother and their best friend’s pet hamster wants Banjo and Kazooie in SMASH! I know Sakurai has to be aware of this it’s just that their situation isn’t favorable as they’re owned by Microsoft now. Although Microsoft is willing to allow them in SMASH is Nintendo willing to agree to Microsoft’a terms for this. However there is a chance since Microsoft and Nintendo have recently been in collaboration with Minecraft.Banjo & Kazooie — 40% chance

Wow I really can’t believe it’s been 3 years since my last Character Speculation post. Since the Smash Bros WiiU/3DS Era lol. First off I want to thank all of you!! Friends I really do appreciate you for tuning in to my blog and having conversation with me on Smash Bros. I really enjoy this and it makes me happy. I know I’m not as active as I was a few years ago but you all still support the blog despite that. In short I just want to say you’re the best friends :)

On to Geno!!

As you know if asked I give my opinion on a character’s chance of joining the Smash Roster. I was recently asked to give a rate Geno who I gave a 99% chance rating.

In response another friend :) asked

S/O to them! And that’s why we’re here !! So let me explain.

#1 . Fighter Ballot

Based on the Newcomers we’ve seen join SMASH this time around, we had reason to believe that Sakurai paid special attention to the Fighter Ballot when selecting new fighters for Smash Ultimate. And that has actually been confirmed in Sakurai’s Famitsu Column Vol. 561 (Read full translation over on Source Gaming) On King K. Rool Sakurai says “I referred to the Smash Ballot when selecting characters this time, and King K. Rool from the Donkey Kong series was one who received a ton of votes“.

Geno has been heavily requested ever since Melee and Brawl so his support during the Fighter Ballot was definitely not absent. Although we DO NOT have official results we did conduct a poll on our blog during the ballot and Geno placed Top 10 at #8 on OUR Third Party Poll:

So I’m sure Geno’s name was quite common on the fighter ballot.

#2 . Sakurai Wanted to Add Geno In Brawl

In an interview with Nintendo Dream magazine Sakurai revealed that he actually wanted to add Geno in Brawl and is aware of fan demand saying:          

“Sakurai: Geno was actually a character I wanted to include as a fighter. He has a gun for an arm, and just seems like he'd fit absolutely perfectly into Smash. I was hoping I'd be able to put him in as far back as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but unfortunately that never ended up materializing...

Interviewer: And that's why you included him as a Mii Costume this time around? Sakurai: Yes. He's incredibly popular. Even though he's an old character, we keep getting loads of votes and requests for us to put him in the game. Even though he still isn't in as a playable fighter, I made sure he'd be in as a Mii costume so his fans would at least feel that they got something.”

#3 . Mii Fighter Costume

Speaking of Mii Fighters... it’s just a hunch but we’re paying attention to a little more than a few of the characters that recieved Mii Fighter Costumes.

Geno Mii being the only one who recieved a fighter reveal introduction.

#4 . Vergeben “New Square Enix Character”

Regardless of this “leak” my thoughts on Geno have been the same for a while. But I want to keep you all updated and cover this rumor.

You may know of a leaker that goes by the name of Vergeban who predicted Simon Belmont. Although he DID NOT say Geno specifically he did post this:

Geno although originating from Mario RPG is owned by Square Enix just like Cloud.

Final Thoughts...

In conclusion, the first 3 reasons are why I gave Geno a 99% chance of entry and am confident that he will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Hope you enjoyed the read friends :) In time we will all know if the Mailman has delivered Geno an Invitation lol. Later!

Or even Neku Sakuraba from the Nintendo DS Game The World Ends With You? Or Sora? Another Square Enix Rep wouldnt hurt maybe add Geno from Super Mario RPG On top of that

I could see Shantae being added as a fighter. I’ve given her a 70% chance maybe 60% now. But I think if not a fighter she’ll be an assist probably.
