I feel like many people have a fundamental misconception of what unreliable narrator means. It's simply a narrative vehicle not a character flaw, a sign that the character is a bad person. There are also many different types of unreliable narrators in fiction. Being an unreliable narrator doesn't necessarily mean that the character is 'wrong', it definitely doesn't mean that they're wrong about everything even if some aspects in their story are inaccurate, and only some unreliable narrators actively and consciously lie. Stories that have unreliable narrators also tend to deal with perception and memory and they often don't even have one objective truth, just different versions. It reflects real life where we know human memory is highly unreliable and vague and people can interpret same events very differently

Are you named after anyone?

I go by Em online but neither my nickname or real name is inspired by anyone else in my family otherwise. My middle name comes from both sides of my family however!

When was the last time you cried?

More recently I’ve been having small cry moments? For those who don’t know sadly my childhood dog passed away not too long ago so I’ve been dealing with that. However lately has been better and I’ve been in the happy nostalgia phase.

Do you have kids?

No and thank god

What sports do you play / Have you played?

I have been trying to go to the gym more recently, but I was a tech theatre kid growing up so I had ZERO time to do sports. I did like track and ice skating a lot and still sometimes run and skate when I get the chance!

Do you use sarcasm?

Sometimes? It’s like situational.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their style or their eyes

I have very good organizational skills I consider to be talent. I also think I have a talent for being an average ice skater. I can’t really think of anything else off the top of my head.

I’m not really in the mood to dox myself, however I do sadly no longer live in the same state let alone city where I was born. I was born in Chicago and that is pretty vague but we’ll leave it there

What are your hobbies?

I like to read and ice skate (when I can since where I live now has ZERO rinks around). More recently I have been writing a lot more recently so we can add that to the list. I have some more but that’s all I can think about now so uhhhh 💀

Any Pets?

I only have one dog named Bear. He kinda acts like a cat so he doubles as two pets. As I stated earlier I did recently lose my other dog named Buster, he was a very good boy.

In High School - Tech Theatre or English or Histoy

Dream Job?

Currently I want to go into sports management, however if I didn’t have to worry about repercussions for anything I’d love to become a Stage Manager and that was what I originally was majoring in until my university cut their program after I got accepted :((

I was talking to a friend today and we were both talking about how awful of reading slumps we are in right now and I had ended up saying something like “Well at least I’m writing right now!”

They asked me if I was writing as is actually getting the content in order on paper with plot, chapter breakdowns, objectives and all that jazz or was I writing as in making the pinterest boards and cute character sheets with only a plot and whim I’ll never complete.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so betrayed and exposed in my life before.
