golden photo finish

There was a small glow in the living room that night. Eve was held in Papa’s glowing arms as he swayed along to Daddy playing on the piano, his fingers also glowing as he played. For as long as she could remember, Papa and Daddy glowed like that once in a while. She thinks she heard her school teacher talk about people glowing in one of their classes but she was busy watching the dim little lights glow from hers and Georgie's, her best friend, forefingers.

Then after an afternoon with her grandmere, she learned the truth about the glowing. She had asked about it when she saw a picture framed in her house, only it wasn’t really a picture because it was just blank, not exactly white but maybe sort of yellowish, or like the sun, or maybe the cute little flower that grows in Auntie Vivi’s backyard.

When Daddy picked her up that day from grandmere, she had a souvenir from the house, and something that she thinks she’ll want to bring to school for show and tell. After all, it is now her favorite picture, and Teacher Grace did say that they can bring anything they want as long as they like it enough.

That friday, Eve sat through the class petting Georgie’s little turtle as they listened to Mary talk about her one-eyed cat, which she didn’t bring. She only showed the cat’s picture because the cat was kinda rude to strangers, according to Mary, though Eve thinks that Mary’s cat would warm up to her should she meet it because Sassy and Jimmy are always nice to her.

“Good job Mary! I hope that next time, we would be able to meet Fred. Let’s give five claps for Mary everybody.”

After giving Mary her five claps, it was now Eve’s turn to share her favorite thing.

“Hi Teacher Grace and classmates. Today, I’m sharing my favorite picture of my Daddy and Papa.”

And as she turned the picture to face her classmates, the confused faces of everyone did not surprise her, and even gave her a giggle. “Why is it blank, Eve?”

“It’s not blank silly, it’s my daddy and papa crossing the finish line together when they used to drive cars. My grandmere said that people call it a photo finish because they were so close together when they finished the race. And I know that it looks blank, but that’s because of all the soulmate glow that daddy and papa shared that time. Mamie said that their love was so much and good and pure that their whole bodies glowed so so bright and that when people tried to picture them, all the camera could see was golden light!"

Ok, so here's my crisis right? I adore Pomme. I want to draw Pomme because she's become one of my top three favorite eggs and qsmp characters in general. BUT. I CANNOT. THINK OF A CONSISTENT DESIGN FOR HER.

Like, the fandom is so creative with their interpretations of her that no single design jist clicks instantly you know? For example, most people draw Tallulah with brown, curly hair, or Richas with the afro that covers his eyes- but Pomme is just one of those characters that the fandom doesn't unanimously agree on with her design.

Like, lately I've seen Pomme with short/long blonde hair, white hair, braids, really short hair, a hijab, etc. That's just a list of different hairstyles!

AND I HONESTLY LOVE THAT

BUT IT MAKES DRAWING HER 10× MORE DIFFICULT BUT ITS OK BECAUSE SHE'S THE BEST

#also there is obvi the widely accepted fanon design of pomme #but there are so many other desigbs out there that are just so good #this rant is inspired by my 3 hour search on pinterest for “hairstyles for french children”#and “cool elegant hairstlyes”#only to come up with.
