I just think that the knights (Meta, Dark Meta, Galacta, and Morpho, especially Morpho) are awkward guys who have no idea what they're doing sometimes. They're unhinged and they have no idea how they made friends but they're managing to keep them? somehow??
Meta Knight's first instinct is to stick to a corner when in places where there are lots of social interactions happening around him. He has no idea how to ensure he's having positive interactions so he pretends he's just doing things to look mysterious. He doesn't realize everyone already knows he's awkward (and he thinks he's doing a good job nobody tell him-) and at some point, he always gets dragged out of the corner (by Kirby or Dedede) to socialize.
Dark Meta Knight has no idea how to have positive interactions. All his compliments sound like insults. He has no idea how he managed to become friends with Daroach but he's winging it.
Galacta Knight knows how to make friends. He does. He's just scared that things have changed too much and all the things that would be positive interactions before he was sealed are things that lead to negative interactions. Finding a jester (Marx) was definitely something he was relieved (and excited) about.
Morpho has never had time to make friends. They have a job to do. How are they supposed to make friends when they have to make sure that the wayward souls they find receive judgment? How they managed to become friends with Galacta remains a secret that neither of them will tell.

so i was complaining talking to my dad about the suffering that is the renewal void, and he agreed that it would be a bit nonsensical for max to-
push physical merch on their site
create a bunch of custom icons for users on their site
put so much effort into marketing s2, to the point of putting spots on tv, hanging up gigantic billboards, and spreading teasers all across social media
-if they had no intention to see the show all the way through.
which was ✨validating✨ coming from an outside party, because it's something i've been thinking this whole time. now, granted, i don't trust streaming services, and stranger things have happened, buuuuut idk. it really seems like there's a part of them that realizes ofmd is a large, important property to them, but we shall seeeeeee,,,

An aspect of Hilda the series that I feel isn’t talked about enough is the colonizer’s guilt and how it affects the main character.
What made me write this was watching the third episode of the new season, but honestly, it’s something we see throughout the whole series. Starting out with the elves in the northern counties, and moving on to trolls and now giants. Every season that came out gave us a chance to see Hilda deal with the feelings that arise from living in a society she knows is built on the occupation of another people’s native land and the oppression of those inhabitants.
She knows it’s not her fault, she knows she’s not the colonizer, but she’s well aware that she’s in the privileged side of her society. Seeing her grapple with the fact that her very existence in these spaces is only possible because someone else is getting the short end of the stick, to me at least, makes her that much more interesting of a character.
Because it’s not a matter of fixing what she’s done, but the privilege is still there and not even well hidden when she sees the day to day life of the people whose land has been occupied by humans/trolbergians. So whenever we see her rush to aid them, her borderline desperation to fix what’s been broken, it’s even more captivating because it’s not just the usual “I love helping people and having adventures” gist, there’s always this undertone of guilt for something she hasn’t personally done but still knows has to be held accountable for.
Hilda knows the type of oppression that people like her get away with. And she wants no part in it.

not to be too real but since we're talking about it... we always talk about will feeling lonely which is fair, but... it is such an Ugly, isolating, and genuinely heart-wrenching feeling to be the odd one out in your family, and to watch them treat others who aren't related to you the way you wish they would treat you, to watch them perform their familial roles with them and not you.
nancy's the only person in his family that mike could talk to, the only person that has the same trauma and would understand, and yet... he can't. they don't ever talk unless it's to be snippy and bite. nancy spends more time caring about max and will than she does mike, her own little brother.
holly is too young for him to bond with like that. she's just barely a kid, one that still needs to be cared for.
his mom tries her best, but he doesn't feel comfortable being vulnerable with her. considering the fact that she did everything "right" according to society's standards and married their dad of all people, i doubt he feels comfortable showing her who he really is. he lets her hug him when he's at his lowest, but we don't see them actually connecting.
his dad is just some ghost that haunts his house. he doesn't care about mike or think highly of him at all. the only times we've seen him pay mike any attention are when he belittles his interests, mocks him, punishes him, or shuts him down by telling him to listen to his mother. the only support he gets from him is financial in nature.
meanwhile, everyone else has a family they can turn to. dustin, despite lying to his mother to keep her out of his shenanigans, seems to have a decent relationship with her. even if he doesn't, he still has steve and robin. lucas is shown to have a healthy relationship with his parents and erica. will and el have their family.
max's situation is different, but she has the backing of the party; people that love her and actively try to help her and pull her back into the world of the living. she isn't thrust into a leadership role that doesn't allow for vulnerability. she has nancy who is willing to fight monsters for her, el who literally performed a miracle for her, and lucas who has stood by her since the beginning.
and mike... well. he has will back now, sure, but... things have been different between them for a long time now, even if they're both trying their best to be how they were before. and before then, will obviously was in california, not returning his calls or reaching out, making mike feel like he'd lost him for good.
so... all that being said, it's not that surprising that mike is the way he is: riddled with abandonment issues, wanting to be needed, immediately apologizing whenever he dares to open up, inclined to give others the protection and comfort no one's ever given him, prone to jealousy and possessiveness, unable to be completely and wholly honest about what troubles him, not exactly the most open to new people, and someone with appallingly low self-esteem.
you know how they say people that are drowning don't always look like they're drowning? that's mike.

Arupek sets off to leave Tuxedo Sam's Kingdom! What's left is preparations before continuing the journey!
Tuxam - “…Restocked rations. Check! Clothing…? We shouldn’t be too careless. Here. I’ll put extra layers for you.”
Arupek - “I guess there isn’t harm with a few more layers!”
Aurpek - “But Tuxam, aren’t you going to be cold as well?”
Tuxam - “Me? I’m quite used to the cold at this point!” “I’ll be fine even if I had minimum clothing on.”
Tuxam - “If it’s fine with you, I’d like to accompany you until we’ve reached [Route 1].” “The SEEDs surrounding milord’s territory are dangerous and aren’t the kinds to take alone!”
Arupek - “But what if SEEDs attack the kingdom while you’re away?”
Tuxam - “That’s why I’ll take you from [Route 1].” “The SEEDs rarely make it across the kingdom, but that doesn’t mean I should be careless.”
“I’d take you further… But after recent events, I shouldn’t…”
Tuxam - “It isn’t too far from the kingdom, and if I sprinted, I could likely make it in time.”
“But if you’re underestimating this kingdom, I’ll abandon the thought of helping you in the first place!”
Arupek - “I’m thankful for your help!”
Aurpek - “Let’s go fishing the next time!” “I want to try the fish in your kingdom.”
Tuxam - “With… Me?”
Arupek - “Who else am I talking to?” “You’ve been so reliable, and helped me so far!”
Tuxam - “I’ll have to find time in my schedule!” “Send me yours, and let’s see what we can do.”
Arupek - “It might be hard right now…”
Tuxam - “N—Not now! Later!” “Let’s go already!”
Tuxam - “(But… Am I sure he’s only interested in the fish or…?)” “(No! Now’s not the time!)”
(Additional Information/Tangents):
I like to imagine Tuxedo Sam’s kingdom sits in a snowy landscape, with the capital being a walled city that protects itself from SEEDs (physically sturdier than most, but weaker against magic).
I like to think the answer to Tuxam’s question is both! Arupek genuinely admires everyone in Noir Bouquet and isn’t afraid to express that. A really passionate guy! Arupek wants to meet Tuxam on a better note and also try the local fish in the region.
"[Route 1]" is a placeholder because I don't have a name, and it'll probably never have a name... or maybe it's an unintentional pokemon reference...
Arupek - “I know! We should go ice fishing!” “At your lord’s kingdom! Wait—Wait! Maybe we can even invite Lord Pekkle and Lord Tuxedo Sam as well?”
Tuxam - “Hm… I’m not against the idea, but it might be cold.” “Are you sure?”
Arupek - “How can I not be?” “This is time we can spend together!”
“Oh!” “What are you thinking, Tuxam?”
Tuxam - “There’s a place I’ve been thinking about…” “Have you heard of the Tuxedo Sam comics?”
Arupek - “I’ve heard of it!”
Tuxam - “You have!?” “That’s amaz—Ahem. In comic issue #37, Tuxedo Sam and the Hidden Lake; milord, Tuxedo Sam stubbles onto a lake upon accident.”
“To much of his surprise, the fish there are purely yellow and resemble gold!” “It is greatly described in detail and said to be quite exceptional in taste!”
“Finding this lake… I always wanted to do it!”
Arupek - “A hidden lake with golden fish with exceptional taste!?” “I’m drooling!”
Tuxam - “Wipe it with this.” (Hands a handkerchief)
Arupek - “Oh! I didn’t mean it like that, but I’ll produce a little bit of drool so it can be of use.”
Tuxam - “Make sure to return it clean the next time.”
Arupek - “I will!”
(Weeks Later)
Tuxam - “What is… That?”
Arupek - “A cooking set!” “If we’re set to eat yellow fish with a golden look with exceptional taste, we have to eat them in every way possible!”
“You know. Grilled. Poached. Steamed. Cured. Raw.” “So I brought a cooking set!”
Tuxam - “Every way… Possible?”
Arupek - “Yup!” “Oh—Wait… No. I was thinking we could make sushi for Badobarm, but we don’t have rice.”
“Do you think it is already too late…?” “Hm. You think if I ran fast enough, we could buy rice in your lord’s kingdom?”
Tuxam, who sits there not expecting this

The alliance with Gortash feels really rushed - not that I need to tell any of you that but I was thinking about how it could've been.
Primarily, if he lived to the end and if he betrays you or not depending on whether you proved that he could trust you in quests prior.
For example, you can talk to Wulbren about blowing up the foundry before you even talk to Gortash so one step towards him trusting you properly could've been the player telling him where the Ironhands are hiding.
Idk, it just really makes no sense to me how you can make an alliance with Gortash but none of you really bring anything to the alliance other than the stones. They don't really provide an incentive for taking the alliance besides skipping the foundry/iron throne quests and Gortash's boss fight which I suppose, for some people, would be enough but only one of those is actually compulsory to progress with the main story.
And sure, he tells you about Orin but even if you're not told, the shapeshifting thing still happens and you can still catch her regardless.
To be honest, I kind of feel like if it's going to be a feature in your game, it should be as fleshed out as other things.
I realize that there's a time crunch and things get chopped and left out, that you can't have everything - I get that completely but that doesn't stop me from feeling that Act 3 feels kind of abrupt in a lot of ways, especially where Orin and Gortash are concerned.

Going further into the "Galacta Knight likes shiny things" post, there are shiny things he won't go near.
Things that are shiny and pink? Avoided. Crystals, jewels, and gems? Avoided. Things that are shiny but clear/see-through (like glass, mirrors, etc.)? Avoided. Shiny rocks are on thin ice.
Coins, glitter pens, and other shiny things though? Those are fair game to him >:D
(One time Prince Fluff gave Galacta some shiny beads! Galacta immediately decided he was his friend and gave him glitter pens in return ^-^)

Listen.
You can listen to it on the soundtrack, you can watch clips of it being performed live, hell, you can watch someone play that bit on a video...
But listening to Raphael's Final Act while you're actually fighting Raphael just hits. different.
That was probably the hypest shit I've ever felt, and I thought freeing the Nightsong was a chills moment.

It is wild to me how many people are like, "hahaha op's speech did nothing," as if I am running and participating in these polls to get validation for my blorbo. If I just wanted to be content with my blorbo, I would absolutely not be tossing him up on a platform to be heckled for a week straight. I would be retreating to some echo chamber Discord server to experience the emotional equivalent of everyone gathering around and petting a puppy.
I literally do not think Essek is going to win this poll! I do not think he is going to win the tournament! I seeded Laerryn number one for a reason! For a number of factors I think it would be very difficult for anyone to beat her! I literally put him and Laerryn on the same side of the bracket so that they would not end up in the final, because I did not think it was going to be an interesting fight! We as a fandom beat "Laerryn could smash any wizard in Exandria without contest" into the ground weeks ago! I considered writing a stump speech just for kicks for every semifinalist, because I like to argue things and I love playing up a ridiculous and meaningless kayfabe!
But like, Laerryn has swept many polls, and it's deeply boring to me if she wins in a landslide. I am a polling nerd, and I can confirm that no one watches landslide races. They are not interesting. And this is fully just for the fun of it, so I am gonna make it interesting.
If there's no challenge, no consideration of how the other side might win, then what the fuck is the point of running a tournament?
In conclusion:
