This Autumn there are bound to be a plethora of nail trends emerging on the catwalks, but I’m more interested in the nail trends emerging online being worn in the “everyday” world where clients can have fun rocking wearable looks! To inspire you I’ve recreated the 4 Autumn nail trends with the fabulous new Gelish Forever Marilyn Collection (for professional use only)!

The new collection consists of 6 gorgeous new shades perfect for recreating new season nail art looks :

Trend 1: Tortoise Shell

Tortoise shell nails were big last Autumn and according to Glamour Mag and any nail artist worth her salt, they’re just as big this year ! As seen above @fingerbangportland @glamourgermany @cg_nails_lashes_brows @beautyworksbyamy @leeandrea78

Get the look :

Prep nails for gel, apply Gelish Base Coat and cure

Mix 3:1 part Glow Like a Star (Rocket Man Collection) & Classic Red Lips and apply all over then cure

Add random small blobs of That’s So Monroe and cure

Add blobs of Black Shadow on top and off centre the previous blobs, smudging the edges lightly then cure

Add a coat of All American Beauty - don’t cure , mix 3:1 ratio of That’s So Monroe and Classic Red Lips and apply small blobs off centre previous blobs and blue edges then cure

Mix equal parts Black Shadow , Classic Red Lips and That’s So Monroe then apply with a gel brush all over , before curing add more black blobs if needed into the we layer , blur the edges with a brush then cure

Topcoat & cure

90s Revival

90s nails are where it’s at ! From @nailsbyniki holo with aliens and wavey rainbows , @sohotrightnail bling & smileys, @novasbeautyroom happy sad faces, @tokyo_nails flower power faced to @veedidem glitter look faces - smileys and 90s vibes are in!

Get The Look:

Prep nails for gel and apply Gelish base coat

Apply Some Girls PreferPearls and cure + repeat

For fast nail art, apply water smiley nail decals! I used these from DIY Nails (now Naf Salon) but you can find similar decals on eBay !

Apply Gelish Topcoat, floating over the decals and cure

French Twist

French nails are back but with a twist ! Anything goes from Ombrè fades, square coffin shaped outlines , animal prints to bling ! It’s the french mani, but make it fashion as seen above @patrizia_rosie2810 @tonysnail @beautyworkabyamy @nailsbysylwia_@fingerbangportland @divanailsonthird

Get the look :

Prep the nails as usual for gel and apply Gelish base coat

Apply two coats of All American Beauty curing between

Using Classic Red Lips, trade the outline of your nail shape taking the polish brush from one side to the middle and the other side to the middle - creating a point in the centre and cure , then repeat

Apply a builder gel to give viscosity to the nail and apply gems of your choice (I used silver stars) over the red tips and cure

Apply Topcoat and cure

Old English Lettering

Lettering is a huge trend and hand drawn is best as seen above @bhambnails @chezpaintsnails @guys_do_nails & @enchantednailsbytaylor

Get The Look:

Prep nails for gel and apply Gelish Base coat

Apply two coats of Gelish Sheek White curing between

Find a photo online of an Old English Alphabet and choose a word ! Grab a fine point nail art brush and a cotton bar with acetone on it

Copy the lettering as best as you can being sure to pay attention The the detail of the lettering and shapes created on the corners of each letter

I used Gelish A Girl & Her Curls to do this

After curing the first layer of letters , reapply and cure again being sure to tidy up any details as you go
