"If I get more pretty, do you think he will like me?".

Tsireya looked at you with sad eyes. She always knew that you were insecure, but she never thought that you would degrade yourself so much. All that for her stupid brother..

'All the girls and boys in the village are so breathtaking and then there is me. I'm an outcast, just because I'm not pretty enough..'

"Y/N, you're already beautiful! Please don't think like that!". You looked down in shame. Tsireya was sad seeing you like that. You were normally really happy and kind, you didn't deserve that.

The day ended with Tsireya consoling you, saying, that you shouldn't need to worry about your looks, since you're good looking and beautiful, but you just couldn't belive her.

It's easy for her to say, she's the most gorgeous girl in the whole village. Not once did she have to worry about her looks, unlike others. Not only is she beautiful, but she's also a great person. She's literally perfect.

This thought made you feel some slight of jealousy, something you just couldn't control. You didn't want to feel like that, but it's hard not to.

You were sitting on a small rock, on which, at most, two people could sit. You didn't mind taking the whole space on it, thinking, you'll be alone tonight anyway.

You were listening to some Na'vi kids playing in the background, despite the darkness. Fidgeting with your bracelet, your thoughts drifted off to Ao'nung. He was someone you admired and were in love with. But your looks stood in your way.

You liked him since years, your crush only growing when you got older. Ao'nung never paid much attention to you tho. He was helping you then and there, but that's all the interactions you got. He never came up to you and you never spoke to him either.

It made you sad but it is what it is.

You didn't even notice when you fell asleep, only waking up 'cause of someone shaking you. You needed a moment to fully wake up, only to see, to your surprise, Ao'nung sitting next to you on the sand. You didn't even notice falling from the rock either. Wow.

"Are you okay? What are you doing here?" Ao'nung asked you, still having one of his hands on your right shoulder. He helped you sit up and lean against the rock.

"Uh, yea, I'm okay, I just fell asleep, I guess..". You didn't hear Ao'nung responding, only feeling his eyes lingering on you. You were confused because it seemed so random. He normally wouldn't even look your way, why is he so worried now?

After you fully came back to your sense, Ao'nung brought you back to your Marui. The walk was mostly silent, only interrupted by said boy, asking if you were okay when you tripped.

"Soo, I heard you talking to my sister today.." Ao'nung started, instantly making you panicking. You two were talking about him, about your crush and that you were insecure, since he needed someone pretty by his side.

You intended to walk away, but he stopped you by taking your arm and pulling you back to him.

"You have a bad habit with running away, you know that?" You didn't reply, only looking down on the ground. Ao'nung made you face him by pulling your chin up with his free hand. This gesture made your heart skip a beat, you never thought that this would ever happen to you.

"Hey, I think you're really beautiful, so stop worrying about something as ridiculous as that." You tried to pull away, denying what he just said but he didn't let go, now caressing your hand.

"No, I'm not, so stop lying to m-". You were interrupted by Ao'nung pulling your face to his own, you could barely feel his lips against yours, so light the kiss was.

He pulled back after a moment that felt like hours, caressing the side of your face now and putting his forehead on yours.

"I wish you could see yourself the way I do.."

You were in a very uncomfortable situation right now. In front of you sat Ao'nung, who nervously played with his hands.

Only a few hours ago, said boy asked you for a favor, to which you agreed, since you were good friends with him. But you weren't ready for what the favor actually was.

"I need to practice.... k..sn.."

"What was that?"

"I NEED to practice.. kiss..g.."

You watched Ao'nungs head turning to the side, avoiding your eyes. You understood when he said it first time, but decided to tease him about it. I mean, how often do you have the chance to see him flustered?

"Oh, that's no problem! Meet me at sunset on our cliff." you told him and turned around, to go home for the time being.

Ao'nung gave his "okay", before the vanished into the water. You were a little bit excited for the meeting. Kissing your childhood crush was something you've dreamed about before. Many, many times, actually.

You were sitting on the cliff, patiently waiting for Ao'nung, who seemingly took his sweet time. It didn't really bother you, you loved watching the waves and the view was beautiful.

"Hey.." you turned to the voice, seeing Ao'nung heading over to your side. His head hung low, as he sat himself next to you. He didn't make eye contact, waiting for you to start the conversation.

It took you a while to get him out of his shell, he was the one who initiated this whole thing anyway. There's no backing out now.

"So, how does that work?" you asked, as Ao'nung was now facing you. The boy shrugged his shoulders and took your hands in his, playing with your fingers.

"I don't know, just kiss me I guess." surprised at his own bluntness, he let go of your hands.

So, per his request, you took his face in your hands, hesitantly lowering it to you. He was watching your eyes, switching between each every second. It felt like a decade, when your lips finally touched. It was a weird feeling at first, since it was your first kiss. But you got into a rhythm after a few tries.

And that was the story on how you two got together. The End.

I was waiting impatiently for Ao'nung, who should've shown up one hour ago. This boy...

We were paired to check some clearing out together, which already annoyed me. Not only did I have to spend time with him, but he also lets me wait for hours.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate him, but I also don't like him. He's okay, I guess, pretty handsome but that's it. Nothing special.

And then, he finally showed up, only rolling his eyes and not even greeting me. He jumped immediately on his Ilu, ignoring my whole existence. He didn't wait for me, so I just sighed and tried to keep up with him.

"Y'know, a hello would've been nice."

We've been out for a few hours now, without finding anything suspicious. The coast was clear and we agreed to take a small break.

"What're you starin' at?"

Ao'nung looked like he woke up from a daydream. I wouldn't have mind it, only if he didn't stare at me while doing so.

"Huh? I wasn't staring at you."

I rolled my eyes, ignoring him and sat down on the ground, near the water. A few moments later, I felt a presence sitting beside me, knowing, that it was Ao'nung.

"If you're throwing me in there, I'm gonna tell your mom."

The boy only chuckled, but not in a nice tone one a friend would have, more like a mocking one. Trying to tease me.

'Weird guy'

It was quiet for a while, a rare occurrence with the chiefs son, what I really appreciated tho. His voice gives me migraine.

"So, uhh... what's your favorite color?"

'There goes my peace'

I watched Ao'nung, not knowing if he was serious or only tried to get on my nerves. To my surprise, he seemed to be genuinely, his eyes wide and curious.

"Um- F/C... and yours..?

"Blue."

"Okay.."

'What is he doing? This is so cringe.'

He looked into the water, an, now, uncomfortable silence around us. I bit on my lower lip and thought about what I could say next. Do I wanna start an argument? I'm kinda too tired for that at the moment.

"Why are you even asking me that?"

Ao'nung turned his face back to me, no expression in his face.

"I was just curious. Shouldn't we get to know our comrades?"

I just shrugged my shoulders, still looking him in the eyes. I said a quiet "I guess" and turned to the water again.

Why is he acting like that now? He never even attempted to make an actual conversation, so what does he want?

"Wait, you got something in your hair.." he said, whispering and trying to get the thing out of my hair. He threw it away before I could even see what it was, but I actually didn't care that much.

I mumbled a small "thank you", hoping, it would be less weird than it already was.

We got back to the village, I was ready to leave but Ao'nung called my name, making me stop in my tracks and looking back at him.

We had some awkward conversations on the way back, consisting questions of my family, what I like to eat, etc.

"Why don't you hang out with my friends and me sometime?"

This surprised me. Is THE Ao'nung actually asking me to hang out? Could be a trick..

"Uh, yeah, sure..?"

"Cool, cool. See ya tomorrow then!"

I watched Ao'nung walking away, a small smile crept on my face. I guess I made a new friend today.

Another idea. Aonung x male reader. But Aonung comforts reader after our poor neteyam death. And then reader starts with the self deprecating talk about how himself revealing that he had issues of self worth for years. Then aonung kisses him and says that he sees him for himself. Very random, I know. But I just had to request it.

☆ 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: death, spoiler, ooc, not proof read

It was quiet. I only heard the waves of the sea, bringing me some comfort. It all felt surreal, as if I will just wake up from a dream and everything would be back to normal.

But I knew this wouldn't happen. It was real. I saw everything with my own eyes. The way he died and his body being laid in the cove of the ancestors. The only comfort I had, was the thought, that he would now be in peace.

But all that just happened because of me. He took the bullet for me. It should've been me.

I tried to wipe my tears away when I heard a rustle behind me. I just kept looking at the water, not wanting to be confronted.

That was, until I felt someone sitting down beside me, on the sand. The person grazed my shoulder with theirs and I felt their eyes on you.

"Oh, it's you."

I said, looking at Ao'nung, who just stared in front of him. He nodded once with his head, before he turned his face towards me. He looked concerned. Nervous, even.

"You should rest a bit, you've been out for hours." Ao'nung said, still looking at me while I turned away from him.

I shrugged my shoulders, not in the mood for such a talk.

"Y/N, I'm serious. Rest."

I was surprised, he never acted like he cared for me. Maybe his mom or someone else made him talk to me. I mean, why else would he waste his time on me? Yeah, that must be it, someone made him do it.

When I didn't react, Ao'nung tried to pull me to my feet but I resisted. He scoffed and tried it again. Still no success.

When I didn't react, he sighed and threw his arm up. He attempted to walk away, mumbling something I didn't understand, but stopped halfway.

"You know, I don't understand you. Why do you always have to make things so hard?"

"Because I'm not worth worrying about so why do you care that much?" I mumbled it, not actually wanting him to hear what I said, but he still did.

"What?"

I freezed, the embarrassment now overcoming me. Why would I even say that? Now I look like a pick me boy.

I felt Ao'nung coming closer to me, now successfully pulling me to my feet to face him. I looked to the ground, too nervous to look him in the eyes. He put his finger under my chin, to make me look up at him.

My face felt hot with shame, not sure how to react or what to say.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Of course you're worth worrying about. Do you want to end up dead or what?"

"N-no, it's just- I don't know.."

"Look, it's not your fault what happened. It's no one's fault except the one who killed him."

My eyes started to sting with tears and my lower lip shaked lightly. Aonung pulled me closer to him and hugged me. Now I really cried. Great.

I cried about how I'm not worthy and it should've been me, not Neteyam. How I can't do anything, I'm not talented, screw up everything I do. Ao'nung listened the whole time without interrupting me, just stroking my hair while trying to follow my rant.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

After a while I calmed down, everything was silent now. Ao'nung pulled away from me, still holding my arms. He looked at me with a weird expression, wiping the corner of my mouth with his thumb.

"Y/N.. I see you.. stop bringing yourself down."

Without letting me answer, he pulled me in a kiss. It was slow and innocent. It made me feel things I've never felt before. Before I could even overcome my surprise, it was over.

We didn't say a word, only looking each other in the eyes. I, now, realized, that there was someone who loved me for me.

Despite my flaws, I finally felt loved.
