hi!! I was recently at a book store and had absolutely no idea what to get. you seem to have impeccable taste in everything (homestuck, the locked tomb, ur whole aesthetic) so I was wondering if you had a list of books you'd recommend! have a good one (⁠｡⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠｡⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠♡

This is very flattering, thank you 🥰 I like a lot of novels and comics so it would probably be easier for me to narrow it down if you gave me a genre you like but if you’re open to anything here are some of my favs!

Beauty by Hubert and Kerascoët

Also I love dark fairytales)

Not Simple by Natsume Ono

“Ian, a young man with a fractured family history, travels from Australia to England to America in the hope of realizing his dreams and reuniting with his beloved sister. His story unfolds backwards through the framing narrative of Jim, a reporter driven to capture Ian’s experiences in a novel: not simple. A story within a story, a book within a book, a tale about the search for family, for an emotional home.” (This one has some really dark themes, highly recommended looking up content warnings before you read. It WILL make you cry, but it’s one of the most beautifully plotted novels I’ve ever read. Also the art style rules.)

Not even gonna bother to introduce this one cause it’s so famous but if you’ve never read the Hobbit, I highly recommend it. Especially because bookstores are always making pretty gilded versions of the book cause it’s so famous.

A short story but: Ligeia by Edgar Allen Poe (sorry I know he sucked) but that short story and the poem it features left a big impression on me. I feel like I can’t describe what the story is about without spoiling it, but if you like stories about mysterious and beautiful women who are involved with the supernatural and death, then you might like this short story!

Okay last one since I don’t want to make this list too long (I have a lot more recommendations if you’d like, these were the first that came to mind!)

Snotgirl by Bryan Lee O’Malley and Leslie Hung

I’m struggling to find a description for the series as a whole, probably because it’s still slowly being released and it comes out in monthly issues (you can usually find the issues compiled into graphic novel format in bookstores, which I still need to get, I only have the issues) But basically it’s about a social media influencer named Lottie Person. She gets wrapped up in a sapphic supernatural romance with a big mystery element. If you’re a fan of the famed “toxic yuri” then this is the series for you, 100%. I’ve actually been meaning to do a re-read 👀

let’s jump in! this entry doesn’t cover that much of the main story and kinda has various here and there reactions. lots to love in terms of environment and characterization *(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*

yanqing!!! i’m keeping an eye on him because he was fu hua’s disciple in the seven swords vn! his outfit and animations are really cool too! we love xianxia style sword riding

i kept trying to take screenshots of the background because it’s really lovely! the vibes are immaculate... also i didn’t expect fu xuan to be power hungry 😂

ok i apologize if i’m misremembering the dialogue since it’s been a while since i took these screenshots, but i really love the talk here about how unique the sky is and the burden that the alternative, an endless pitch black sky, would bring on those who live long. the views are stunning in the herta space station but yeah maybe not for 400 years... 😂

overall i just really enjoy this quirk of xianzhou luofu locals, it makes all the npc dialogue really interesting! i love worldbuilding like this

i had to exit at this part of the story because i noticed we’re playing as dan heng (!!! so cool how they let us switch povs like that!) but i wanted to...

honestly i was really dying for sushang, because i was only missing her and tingyun so jing yuan’s banner was extremely appealing...

it was a real gamble because my next 5* will be guaranteed and i’m saving hardcore for silver wolf （；´д｀）ゞ really didn’t want to get the general... luckily sushang came in 11 pulls! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

this sushang is so baby... i’m fairly certain she’s based on the seven swords vn version! the adapted design looks GREAT and i love that she’s throwing phoenix around in her ult

Okay I know it’s weird, but I can’t lie, it’d probably be bunny. One with big floppy ears. Cater thinks they’re adorable and would want to take pictures of “his bunny with a bunny”. Yeah, sappy >\\\> also because they cute and I’d have something to care for. If I wasn’t permitted to get a cat anyway

I KNOW IT’S MY ANSWER TO EVERYTHING BUT;;;; I’m not even sorry, Trey and I would get a cat. They’re chill, I love them, and they’d just be easier for us to take care of. Especially because I already know a bit about how to care for cats (my shelter time taught me a good amount) so we could have a cute, fluffy fur baby. Also, how can you deny the Aesthetic©of being cat parents in a cute cottage on the countryside by the sea baking sweets for your kids? NOT THAT YOU KNOW THAT’S MY DREAM OR ANYTHING NUH UH WON’T HAPPEN, IN YOUR DREAMS TREY NOT MINE

🎤: Describe your f/o’s voice

I SUCK AT THESE BUT;;;; I WILL TRYYYYYY

Cater’s voice is very upbeat and cheerful. On the high pitched side, but light, the type of voice that brings a smile to your face and puts a littke spring in your step. It’s the expressive kind that’s warm and just seems to energize you when you hear it, like waking up to sun pouring through your window or drinking freshly brewed orange pekoe tea in the morning. That’s probably specfic and strange but, to me, that’s what Cater’s voice is like. Welcoming and revitalizing.

Trey’s voice is more smooth. It’s calming, the type that puts you at ease when you hear it, makes you feel safe. It’s a medium pitch I’d say and has this particular sound to it; like it belongs to someone dependable. It just has the sound of a person you can rely on, still welcoming and warm, but in a different way. Friendly, but not too close. It’s like the feeling of gentle breeze on a spring day converted into a sound, cool but not too distant so it becomes cold. …If that makes any sense, which of probably doesn’t rip.

This is gonna make zero sense but, to me, sounds kinda have colours? So in my mind, Cater’s voice is like a warm, pale orange, like an orange (the fruit) freshly picked from the tree. Trey’s voice, on the other hand, is of course a clover or grass green. One with a blue undertone, like grass when the sun sets on a cloudy day and everything is coloured a bit more grey.

I know it’s extremely weird and makes NO damn sense, but;;;;; I can’t describe a voice without the colour I’m sorry T_T

💤: Do you sleep together? If so, describe your sleeping positions and patterns (E.g. who steals the blankets, are either of you insomniacs, etc.)

Cater and I are a freaking mess. We stay up until like 1am, he’s looking at MagiCam sending me all kinds of stuff and I’m writing until I pass out on my iPad and Cater’s got to power everything down and plug it in for me. Even actually sleeping is a mess, because when we don’t just pass out on each other Cater clings on your me like a koala. Blanket theft? Can’t say for sure, Cater’s too busy snuggling into my shoulder and trapping me there. We don’t even try to devise the bed into somebody’s “side” anymore because it never stays like that. Also half the time we’re mummified in the blankets and can’t escape. Please help us.

Trey and I are less… well… of a disaster. I’m still an insomniac who can’t sleep until her body pretty much decides “nope sleep right now”, even despite my attempts. Trey’s reasonable though, he helps keep me on track. He’s more orderly in general than me, so there’s never blanket theft, it’s nice. We usually fall asleep on our seperate sides of the bed, but I always wake up to Trey’s arms around me. Well, unless he woke up first to make breakfast before I could beat him to it.

💍: What’s your dream wedding?

MY WEAKNESSSSSSSSSSSSS HOW DAREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

For Cater it’s a big event, everything is picture perfect. It’s outside on a sunny day, in the afternoon. The venue is decorated with roses, all our friends and family there and then some. The photographer is working hard to capture every possible moment. It’s seriously a whole event, and the reception is probably the greatest party ever. Also, he’s not a fan of sweets, so there’s plenty of different food at the reception. There’s also a special, fancy dish for Cater instead of Cake- and it’s spicy, just how he likes it.

A wedding with Trey would definitely be a more private, subdued affair. Only friends and family allowed in, people we know well so it’s a small and intimate ceremony. It’d either be somewhere natural but indoors like a greenhouse (think the botanical gardens) or on a cruise ship, so it could be a whole little trip for us. Riddle’s the best man, of course. Trey’s family helps cater the event, making the cake, etc. There’s still plenty of pictures and video taken of course but’s a far calmer and more subdued ceremony.

His super hip, dark aura in Hellevator. I was drawn to his voice initially because wow, his rap is super powerful and clean; you can almost hear every single syllable. Then I was drawn to him more as I got to know his goofy personality. We’re actually quite similar: we don’t sugar coat stuff, we make weird noises out of the blue, and we get babied a lot by friends. I also noticed the hard-working side of him. Changbin would never complain when he was asked to help other members; he would always put them in front of himself. That’s just so freaking admirable and hot.

His voice, his rapping, his dance, his arms, his eyes, his hands, the way he eats, his outfits, his style, his hard-working personality, his dorkiness, his perseverance, his talent, his duality

Changbin because he’s a man, jk I’m actually kinda shy at first, but I’ll get comfortable pretty quickly

Autumn; I want to take pictures with him at the park when the leaves of the trees are just changing colors. I really like the fall aesthetic and the entire cuddling by the fireplace with a cup of warm almond milk or something. Ohohoh and movie dates and then poetry slams at night with neon signs and bars. We’d enjoy music and spend quality time with each other. Then when the sun sets, we can go on top of a rooftop and admire the city skylines and the hues of the sky.

I make good cookies, so he’ll steal the batter. But I’ll threaten him with a spatula.

I’d make shitty puns, then he’s either roll his eyes at me or give me the signature resting bitch face :’)

Neither, because we’re both neat freaks

I would burn the kitchen because I am so bad with microwaves for some reason. He’d be the one to rescue my ass from the fire ;-;

I love leaning over railings, literally, I would even swing my legs over because I’m not scared of heights. He’d probably be hella overprotective and be the one pulling me back.

I would make him sit to my left because I can’t watch scary movies for shit. I tend to cling to people on my left and watch the entire movie behind a pillow or something. He’d probably be so sick of me because my face is constantly behind a pillow lol

I think I’m pretty smooth, HE’S THE CHEESY ONE

I think we’re both competitive but only at things, we’re good at respectively. We’d be competitive in different aspects (him in music, and me in writing idk)

Mutual! He would remind me to eat because I often skip meals, and I would remind him not to forget little things because I have really good memory.

WE SEND EACH OTHER MEMES. He sends the “I miss you” texts at 3am when I’m dead asleep. I reply in the morning with “I miss you too butthead” because I’ll be awake earlier.
