The 15 Most Important Dating Tips for Women
Ashley Papa By Ashley Papa
Last updated on November 1, 2016May 31, 2021
This woman took our dating tips for women and found a great guy to kiss in the snow.
When it comes to dating tips for women, one size doesn’t fit all. A young woman in her teens or 20s dates A LOT differently than a woman in her 30s and 40s. And while most woman generally want the same outcome, there are certain things women in their 30s and 40s know about dating that they disregarded or simply didn’t focus as much on in their younger years.
That’s why we talked to some of today’s top dating experts to see what they saw as the most important advice women in their 30s and 40s dating today should think about. After going through what they had to say, we came up with these 15 top dating tips for women who are out of their 20s and ready for something more serious.
1. Know your non-negotiables.
These would be those instant deal breakers of yours—he’s a smoker, a non-monogamist, a cat-lover, etc.—that instantly tell you to move on so you’re not wasting your time. “What are those three things that are not negotiable when you’re looking for a relationship?” asked relationship expert Dr. Melanie Mills. “Try not to include physical or financial attributes. Focus on character traits, personality type, and value systems.”
2. Don’t limit yourself.
“In your 20s you might have frowned when thinking about dating a guy with a child or one that had previously been married,” says Mills. But the chances are, if a man is is his 40s, there’s a higher probability he’s been married or has kids. “Stay open to men that have been divorced,” she adds.
3. Don’t lie. Don’t even inflate the truth.
Sure, you want to impress each other, but honesty from the start is a prerequisite to trust, says psychotherapist, Dr. Jennifer Freed. “If the picture or description of your date was inaccurate then the rest of the relationship will be likely be filled with deceptions too.”
4. Forget about any texting and calling rules.
Rules like ‘wait 3 days to call back’ no longer apply. “If you treat dating and love like a game, someone—or both of you—will end up the loser,” says host of, The Rendezvous with Simon and Kim on iHeart Radio, Simon Marcel Badinter. “If you want to, call back in the next 24 hours. It has to be honest and spontaneous if you want to be respected and start a healthy relationship.”
5. Pay attention to the red flags.
You know that feeling you get when you know something isn’t quite right? If your date can’t answer simple questions about where he works or acts super shady, chances are something weird is going on. “Listen to what your gut is telling you,” says Mills. And that goes for behaviors too. If he’s already getting on your nerves and it’s only the first date that’s another indicator that you’re just not going to work.
6. Know who you are as a person.
This is a complex one but necessary to surviving in a rapid dating world, says sex and relationship expert, Dr. Nikki Goldstein. “Building strength and self-confidence is key. The reality of it is, dating can be hard and feelings can be hurt. But if you know who you are and how you want to be treated then you won’t allow someone (or the dating scene) to continually hurt or discourage you.”
7. Be emotionally available.
Maybe your past relationships haven’t turned out like you wanted them to, or you feel like every date in the past month was a lemon. Well, get over it. “It’s still up to you to open your heart—and keep it open. This can be scary because you don’t want to get hurt. However, in order to grow and connect, you must be available and vulnerable,” says Mills.
8. Watch the alcohol.
Especially on date number one. Not only can getting drunk be risky and a turnoff, it also clouds your judgement. “Using substances like alcohol or drugs is not a good first date. It’s away to avoid a genuine connection,” says Freed.
9. Remember that dating is an exploration.
Dating should be fun and nothing more than a way to meet and get to know another person, who may or may not be fit to share your life with you. “[Dating] is not a commitment. There is no obligation involved with dating. No one owes anyone anything ever,” says Freed. It’s easy to get excited about someone and start planning your future together, but remember that you’re both just figuring out if you even like each other first. Don’t put pressure on things by feeling like you owe each other something, you don’t.
10. Know your sexual boundaries.
“Many women can confuse sex and sexual desires with a guy’s interest in them. He wants sex, she also wants sex but thinks him wanting sex means there is something more,” says Goldstein. “Explore your sexual boundaries and know where they are and why they’re there.” And, even more importantly, don’t let yourself be pressured into doing anything you don’t want to do just because you want to gain someone’s interest.
11. Don’t hide your enthusiasm or interest.
One of the dating tips for women we hear a lot is not to let a man know you like him, or to play hard to get. Well, that’s just wrong. Sure, a little mystery may be sexy in the beginning, but the game gets old fast. Even research shows that playing too much hard-to-get makes others like you less. At a certain point, you just have to let the man know you’re interested.
12. Be the date that you want to have.
It’s not only your date’s responsibility to make the date a success, it’s your responsibility too. “Engage in dialogue. Put the cell phone away. Be attentive. Ask questions. Don’t bring up your ex. Take an interest in the details of his life by listening, paraphrasing, and engaging,” says Mills.
13. Ditch the dating wish list.
Have your non-negotiables and boundaries, but dating with a strict itemized wish list—he must make this much, be this tall, drive this car, be this funny—will only hold you back from men who could be great for you in real life and limit you to men who only look good on paper, says Goldstein. “If you need a wish list it should be small and include feeling words instead of car makes and job titles,” she adds.
14. Have fun and release the pressure.
It’s normal to feel pressure as you watch your friends get married and have children, but remember that every person’s path is different. “You don’t want to settle down with a guy who’s not right for you. Therefore, release the pressure you place on yourself to lock down your next date as your future husband. Take each date one date at a time and have fun,” says Mills.
15. Be your true self.
Any falseness or pretending will stop you from knowing that someone is into you. “If you’re real, you’ll get real results. Be brave, be true, and most of all, believe that someone will celebrate and desire you,” says Freed.

May 2016
May 1st - Taylor is papped out and about in New York. (x) In the evening she goes to Anna Wintour's house for dinner, ahead of the Met Gala which is taking place the next day. Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston are also at the dinner. (x) Idris is also co-chairing the 2016 Met, and he and Tom are Marvel costars.
Tumblr media
May 2nd - Taylor attends the 2016 Met Gala. The theme is 'Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology'. (x) Calvin is not there.
Tumblr media
Joe attends the gala along with Garrett Hedlund. (x) He is part of the Burberry table for the event (x) having previously attended the 2016 Burberry fashion show. (x) While in NYC, he is staying at the Bowery Hotel. (x)
Tumblr media
Taylor is photographed at the Met with a bunch of people including the Haim sisters, Lorde, Florence Welch, Emma Watson, Karlie Kloss, and Beyoncé. (x)
Andy Cohen tries to make a Katy Perry joke to Taylor, saying, ‘Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s plenty of room around her.’ Taylor replies, 'Katy who?' and Andy says, 'Perry.' Taylor then makes it clear that 'she’s the exact opposite of her friend'. (x) The exchange appears in Andy Cohen's book, published later in the year.
Taylor and Tom are filmed having a dance-off at the Met Gala. (x) At one point during the dance-off, Taylor slides to the side with her arms outstretched, in a dance move that looks similar to one that she did during Getaway Car on the Rep Tour. I doubt the tour choreo was an intentional reference (it's Taylor, so who the fuck knows) but I think it's hilarious anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tom is seen arriving at the afterparty at the Up&Down nightclub in one of Taylor’s cars and with her longtime bodyguard Jimmy, so presumably Taylor went to that party too. (x)
Tumblr media
Taylor and the Haim sisters go to the afterparty at the Boom Boom Room club. (x) Tom is also there. (x)
Tumblr media
Taylor, Tom and Brie Larson (who had recently finished filming Kong: Skull Island with him) in an elevator at some point during the night:
Tumblr media
Afterwards, Taylor and Haim get pizza and hang out in onesies. (x)
Tumblr media
May 4th - Taylor and Calvin are seen driving in his Range Rover in Beverly Hills. (x)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tom is back in London visiting The Hampstead School. (x)
May 6th - Tom appears on the Radio 1 Breakfast show with Nick Grimshaw. (x)
Chatting on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, he revealed how he came to dance with Taylor in a video that went viral.
"The Weeknd played a set after dinner as people were having pudding and coffee," he said.
"And Taylor turned to me and said, 'That's why these gigs are hard to play, because if you're a musician you want people to dance, but everyone is sitting around eating.'
"She said, 'If they play I Can't Feel My Face we have to get up and dance as an encore.'
"I said, 'I'm in, of course, let's go. Absolutely.'"
"We just jumped up and started dancing - and everybody else started dancing - which was great.
"And it was cool."
Asked why he thought the video was so popular, Tom replied: "Taylor is a huge star. Maybe it's just the randomness of it."
May 9th - Taylor is on the cover of the Met Gala special edition of Vogue with her red carpet look. (x)
May 10th - Taylor attends the BMI Pop Awards in LA to receive the Taylor Swift Award. (x) Other than her brief surprise appearance to present an award at the CMA awards in November, it is her last awards show appearance until the 2018 Billboard Music Awards almost two years later.
Tumblr media
May 12th - Taylor and Austin go for dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. (x)
May 17th - Tom talks about dancing with Taylor at the Met Gala and whether they would ever do a duet, in an interview with MTV UK. (x) (x)
I sat next to her at dinner that night and she was very charming, she is amazing. I mean I've seen like a couple of her videos and I think I remember ‘Shake It Off’ was released around the time we made ‘I Saw the Light’ and yeah she’s very cool.
I don’t know that I could stand up to her vocal talents to be honest, you know that’s what she does, she’s a professional musician and I'm an actor. We’ll see! You never know! But I'm pretty sure we won’t do it.
May 19th - Taylor and Calvin are spotted out in LA, the last time they are seen together before their breakup. (x)
Tumblr media
May 20th - Calvin is a passenger in a car crash while on his way to the airport in the evening. He has to cancel his show at the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas that night and go to hospital for lacerations to his face. (x)
May 21st - Taylor posts a video to Instagram of her and Andrea barbecuing at her Nashville estate. (x) Abigail Anderson, who lives in Nashville, posts a video to Snapchat of herself with Taylor's cat Meredith. (x)
May 22nd - Taylor does not attend the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, despite having 8 nominations. The media speculate this is because she has gone to LA to be with Calvin following the crash. (x) Hollywood Life claims to have quotes from an insider about how Taylor was in a huge panic when she found out, and is going to wait on him hand and foot while he rests for a few days. (x) (x) (The supposed 'insider' quotes are definitely made up given that a) it's Hollywood Life and their Taylor 'exclusives' are always bullshit, b) Taylor spent the day after the car crash in Nashville with her family and friends, and c) Taylor and Calvin will announce their break-up just over a week later.)
May 24th - Taylor is seen out and about in LA. (x)
Tumblr media
She probably got her LASIK surgery close to this date, as her nail polish and hair (short, bleached, roots showing slightly) are the same as in the post-surgery banana video, which was filmed in her LA house. (x) Also, she is not sighted anywhere between May 24th and May 31st, giving her plenty of time to recover from the surgery.
May 26th - Selena is asked how Calvin is doing while appearing on 92ProFM. (x)
Tumblr media
May 27th - Tom is in London, at the reception for BBC Radio 2′s 500 Words creative writing competition. (x)
May 30th - Calvin posts several Snapchats of himself driving through London. One of them is captioned 'fuck this'. (x)
May 31st - Tom flies into LA amid rumours that he is in talks to be the next James Bond. (x)
Joe is at the London premiere of The Neon Demon. (x)
Taylor is spotted at a guitar shop in Nashville. (x)
Tumblr media
In the evening, she is at her Nashville apartment with Abigail, who posts videos of Taylor’s cats to Snapchat. (x)

Black Knight: Mortgage Delinquencies Decreased in May, Foreclosures at 10-Year Lows
From Black Knight: Prepayments (historically a good indicator of refinance activity) jumped 23 percent month-over-month, reaching their highest point so far in 2017
• Prepayments (historically a good indicator of refinance activity) jumped 23 percent month-over-month, reaching their highest point so far in 2017 • Delinquencies reversed course after calendar driven increase in April, falling 7.13 percent month-over-month • April’s delinquency rate increase was primarily calendar-driven (due to both the month ending on a Sunday and March being the typical calendar-year low) and largely isolated to early-stage delinquencies • Inventory of loans either seriously delinquent (90 or more days past due) or in active foreclosure continues to improve, with both hitting 10-year lows in May
According to Black Knight's First Look report for May, the percent of loans delinquent decreased 7.1% in May compared to April, and declined 10.8% year-over-year. The percent of loans in the foreclosure process declined 3.0% in May and were down 26.9% over the last year. Black Knight reported the U.S. mortgage delinquency rate (loans 30 or more days past due, but not in foreclosure) was 3.79% in May, down from 4.08% in April. The percent of loans in the foreclosure process declined in May to 0.83%. The number of delinquent properties, but not in foreclosure, is down 226,000 properties year-over-year, and the number of properties in the foreclosure process is down 153,000 properties year-over-year.

22
Event:  COVID-19 Situation Report and Reminders
On July 23, Panama’s Ministry of Health (MINSA) confirmed 56,817 cases of COVID-19.
The Municipality of Arraijan decreed a temporary dry law on weekends, starting July 24.  The dry law runs from 7:00pm each Friday and continues until Monday at 5:00am.
On July 21, the Government of Panama announced total quarantine in the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Colon, and Chiriqui on Saturdays and Sundays.  The curfew from Monday through Friday remains from 7pm until 5am.
Beginning Monday, July 27, businesses in Los Santos, Herrera, and Cocle provinces will be allowed to open businesses of car sales, private construction, and professional and administrative services.  All businesses must meet biosecurity requirements.
Effective July 17, MINSA established new quarantine hours for the Panama and Panama Oeste provinces.  Total quarantine begins on Friday at 7:00pm and ends on Monday at 5:00am.  There is also a curfew from 7:00pm until 5:00am Monday through Thursday.  Movement in these provinces remains restricted based on gender and ID number.  Gender restrictions allow for movements as follows:
Women:  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Men:  Tuesday and Thursday.
These movement restrictions allow for a two-hour window, intended only for essential purchases, based on the last digit of each individual’s cedula number or passport number if an individual is not a citizen of Panama.  U.S. Citizens in Panama should always carry their passports, and their Panamanian cedula if they have one.  The two-hour windows are as follows:
Last number is 7 – 6:30 – 8:30am
Last number is 8 – 7:30 – 9:30am
Last number is 9 – 8:30 – 10:30am
Last number is 0 – 9:30 – 11:30am
Last number is 1 – 12:30 – 2:30pm
Last number is 2 – 1:30 – 3:30pm
Last number is 3 – 2:30 – 4:30pm
Last number is 4 – 3:30 – 5:30pm
Last number is 5 – 4:30 – 6:30pm
Last number is 6 – 5:30 – 7:00pm
There is a special window for those over 60 years old, regardless of cedula or passport numbers, between 7:00am and 10:00am (gender restrictions still apply).
Normal exceptions apply for holders of permission letters (salvoconductos).
Parents may take one child per family outside near their home or in the social areas of their apartment building during the two-hour window of the accompanying parent.
Exercises such as bicycling, running, and skating are permissible if done within one kilometer of your home, with a mask, and inside your two-hour window.
Private sector employees are required to enter their places of employment by no later than 8:00am. Public sector employees are required to enter by no later than 9:00am.
All other provinces have a curfew from 7 pm to 5 am, Monday through Sunday.  Children are also free to move about from 4 pm to 7 pm, accompanied by a parent, guardian, or caretaker.  The use of masks and social distancing are still required.  This new flexibility does not permit social group activities, cultural events, festivals, visits to the beach, contact sports, or any other activity that violates social distancing.  The Government of Panama still maintains security checkpoints on the roads and prohibits most interprovincial travel.
MINSA reminds citizens and residents of Panama that staying at home, not touching your face, and washing your hands frequently are the best means of prevention against COVID-19.  It also requires the use of masks, even homemade ones, when in public.
The Embassy encourages everyone to prepare accordingly.  Take the opportunity to stock up on any medicines and food supplies you may need to shelter in place in your homes for an extended period of time.
On July 17, the Government of Panama extended the suspension of international commercial passenger and domestic charter flights, originally announced on March 26, for an additional 30 days beginning July 22.  The previous exceptions for cargo, humanitarian, medical supplies, medical evacuation, and vaccines remain in place.
On July 8, MINSA announced that Green Frog brand alcohol gel has been pulled from the market due to the content of toxic methanol.  To report the sale or distribution of this product, call 512-9163 or 512-9170.
Effective June 8, Panama’s National Immigration Service opened and started a 90-day period during which foreigners may submit applications to maintain or adjust their immigration status in Panama without incurring fines.  This applies to applicants whose immigration status expired between March 13 and June 7.  For more details see www.migración.gob.pa.
On June 2, 2020, MINSA published a resolution stating that anyone leaving their residence must be wearing a mask that covers their nose and mouth.  Any individual not wearing a mask is subject to possible detention and fine.
On June 1, the Government of Panama opened the second economic block.  For more details about the Government of Panama’s plan to gradually reopen the economy, and the economic sectors opened in each block, see the infographic in this tweet from MINSA, also available with English translations on the Embassy’s COVID-19 Information page.  The Government of Panama will evaluate every two weeks, but the date for opening additional business blocks remains unknown.
On March 19, the U.S. Department of State issued a Global Level 4 Health Advisory, advising U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Global COVID-19 Outbreak Notice.
The Embassy is working on evacuation options via commercial humanitarian flights for those U.S. Citizens wishing to depart Panama.  Please express your interest in consideration for potential evacuation flights by emailing:  [email protected].  U.S. citizens who live in the United States should arrange for immediate return to the United States, unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period.
On March 17, U.S. Embassy Panama suspended routine consular services.  For emergency American Citizens Services, including emergency passports, please email [email protected]. For emergency visa services, email [email protected].
On March 14, the Department of State authorized the departure from any diplomatic or consular post in the world of U.S. personnel and family members who have been medically determined to be at higher risk of a poor outcome if exposed to COVID-19.
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak the Peace Corps has reduced/evacuated all Volunteers from Panama.
Schools and universities are closed nation-wide.  Sporting events, festivals, and all gatherings larger than 50 people have been banned.  Visit the local government COVID-19 website for updated information.

Title: The Alchemist The Alchemist February 8, 2020 by Donna from MyOBT # My younger daughter played me a version of one of my favorite songs of all time, Sing Sing Sing, by Bebo Best & the Super Lounge Orchestra. And down the rabbit hole I went… I’m not sure whether or not BB & TSLO coined the term, but they play what they call nu jazz, and I love it! And they don’t just limit themselves to updated versions of swing songs, either. They do some really fun loungy (is that a word?) interpretations of contemporary songs, too. The famous electronic music producer Bebo Best (A.K.A. Bebo Baldan, A.K.A. The Alchemist) has had a long and storied career in his native Italy and all over Europe. His jazz and bossa nova music is regularly used for movie, television, and advertising soundtracks, and his tracks have become the darling of the Italian fashion show scene. It’s such eminently listenable stuff, it’s no surprise he’s so popular. “With the spirit of whatever “Nu Jazz” might be, with a way-cool cinematic bossa nova-jazz groove that could pass for a genuine late-’60s or early-’70s soundtrack recording, garnished with early 21st century electronic touches. Bebo blends elements of dance music, jazz, trip-hop, swing and downtempo into one delicious, happy cocktail and suggests the exuberant insouciance of parties, rides in convertibles on warm, full-moon nights, and an afternoon spent dancing barefoot with friends with a glass of sangria in your hand.” – CHIN CHIN RECORDS You can check out all of Bebo Best’s work on his website and you can follow the Super Lounge Orchestra on Facebook and YouTube.
