On another note, this chapter was so great! Faber advocating for Efnisien and Efnisien being smart with his logic against Gary 😎 and then them just missing each other and being all sweet!

And I am so excited for the next chapter! I cannot wait for Flitmouse to me Efnisien. And I know it’s gonna be amazing when he gets protective, especially with his sharp tongue and wit! I just remember him gearing up to fight Pitch for Jack when Jack said they’d be fighting and agh I’m just excited 😆

Honestly I love AO3 notifications so much too. Comment notifications make my day. Kudos notifications are fun because I enjoy all the different usernames. And of course there's stories I'm subscribed to as well. :D

I loved Faber advocating for Efnisien so much because he's not wrong, and because you know, Efnisien IS ready. There's situations that might make him flip out, but Underline the Black has kind of primed him to have a safer flight response, rather than a really aggressive 'I'm going to murder someone' fight response that he was having constantly in the beginning.

Honestly I am LOVING Flitmouse in this story. A more comfortably happy and spitfire Flitmouse is my favourite boy, and he's actually in the next few chapters quite a bit in different ways! :D

thankfully it's not especially warm rn! at the beginning of may there was this horrible heatwave in ontario and we hadn't installed our AC yet so my roomie and i were living off jumbo freezies and tears lol.

then we had this major storm a week later? guessing bc of the pressure & heat build up. a lot of areas lost power for over a week and when i went home to get my braces off there were power lines n trees down everywhere ;_; very crazy stuff!!

almost fell asleep in front of tha space heater so i will take this opportunaty to remind people this winter to prioritize insulating clothing > heat producing objects (heaters, campfires, hot water bottles, actually putting your laptop on your lap, etc) because otherwise your skin can become A Marshmallow

its called toasted skin syndrome / erythema ab igne and its a kind of burn that happens with long and repeated exposure to heat considered too low to normally burn you or even cause pain (~43C/109F). it's usually not that dangerous but it takes a few months to go away on its own, and in the meanwhile it'll be itchy and annoying and you will look like you got struck by lightning

most of these objects do have "be careful of getting burned, this is hot" warnings but i think most of us (or at least me last year, ouch) assume that you can 'self regulate' it so to speak. "if it doesn't hurt it's not hurting me, i just have to be careful! i can tell when i've messed up and i have enough sense to stop when it's causing pain" but you Can't that's a Lie your body is blind! unfortunately you gotta use your brain instead!
