The starting lineup worries me. 😬 We’re gonna need a Xhaka red card special today I think. 😅

Coaching Moment:
Have to appreciate that quality defending from Wan-Bissaka against Martinelli a little bit ago. He stayed on his feet and just ran with him. He stayed in front of him, he didn’t overreact when he stopped or did a step-over, and he didn’t let him come inside. He just kept his eye on the ball and the second there was separation between the ball and the player he poked his foot in to take it off him. Then he took a quick look around before playing the ball out, quality defending indeed. 🧐

It happened again! Went downstairs to get some water, came back and we conceded again. 😡
But I’ll take nothing away from the finish, that was something spectacular. 🔥🔥🔥

I knew once Rashford wasn’t thinking about that record he’d score again. For me, forget about records right now. Sometimes records come without thinking about them. Win games and let’s challenge for the league please.

Tactical Lookahead: Arsenal vs Manchester United
I’d be willing to try a 4-2-4 against Arsenal this weekend. It’s quite unorthodox, yes, but they wouldn’t be expecting it.
Attack: Garnacho, Rashford, Weghorst, Antony
Midfield: Bruno, Fred
Defense: Malacia, Martinez, Varane, Wan-Bissaka
Keep Eriksen and Shaw on the bench to bring on later in the game if we need to change things up, but I don’t fancy Shaw at left back because he still drifts inside and will give Saka too much space on the wing. Martinez has the ability to create from deep if we play a higher line and when the ball turns over the 4-player attack creates an offensive overload they won’t want to see. You’ll have Nketiah, Martinelli and/or Saka constantly coming back to help out because they’re willing to track back, removing most of the counterattacking threat when we lose the ball (and we will). They’ll have to cover 70-80 yards every time they want to break forward and will start running out of steam around the 65th minute.
As we just saw against Palace, Weghorst is capable of bridging the play between the midfield and the front line, taking center backs with him when he does. Two center forwards up top forces Gabriel and Saliba to divide and conquer, leaving room for Bruno’s late runs into the box (or another unexpected match-winner by Fred). If we go 4-2-3-1 I don’t fancy our chances at all, but I think this gives us a fighting chance to dictate terms and keep the pressure on without tiring by halftime. ⚽
