“All action must be performed with detachment. Regard pain, pleasure: gain, loss: victory, defeat as equal. Battle for battle’s sake with your mind completely on what you must do.“
- Meera Oberoi

Kolegova has her first booked performance in ages!
Lol, I feel like she's been 'retired' and then 'unretired' at least 2-3 times by now. I imagine her situation is something like Maria Alexandrova and Nina Kaptsova's at the Bolshoi, where she is now strictly a contract-based performer. At her age, a setup like that gives her more flexibility and would make sense. Hoping to see some good videos from her performance in Little Humpbacked Horse, but we'll have to see if anyone films it. Elena Yevseyeva will dance the main role, her stuff tends to get filmed rather inconsistently.

Moves at the Mariinsky
Elena Svinko is moving from the Mikhailovsky to the Mariisnky as a 1st soloist. This is very interesting. I haven't followed her career, but we'll be seeing a lot more of her soon…
Anastasia Lukina is also very deserving and I hope she's promoted to First Soloist soon. There are dancers still on the roster and I cannot quite figure how why they are still on there as they haven't danced in a long time — or have been extremely underutilized: Martynuk, Iosifidi, Kolegova, Osmolkina. All lovely dancers, but they seem to be at the end of their careers. I hope Kondaurova returns after injury. I have no idea what happened of David Zalayev, who I haven't seen dance all year.

And here she is in last year's MIBC where she won silver, I think in the Senior Duet competition:

As the season winds down, I'm happy to see that Karamesheva and Kulikova will debut in the Prince's Friend Pas De Trois in an upcoming Swan Lake.

Note
What's happening with Anastasia Kolegova? She has been a first soloist forever (I really wished she had been promoted to principal 😔) and left the theater, but came back, but since then, never performed again (neither have upcoming performances booked).
Kolegova danced a couple performances shortly after returning. I remember she did a dying swan at a gala and also a Sylvia or two with Nikita Korneev in December 2020.
The biggest factor is age to her retirement is age. She is/was the oldest 1st soloist before mgmt promoted Novikova (and truly no one believed either of them would go up after so many years at first soloist)and AK wasn’t dancing a large portion of her rep. MT recent graduates have become dominating the last 3~4 years and no doubt Kolegova saw the writing on the wall in terms of her future and her health/body.
I’m not sure if she’s planning on stepping into an active teaching/coaching role (directly connected to MT, VBA or somewhere else) or is stepping into a different sphere. I haven’t scoured RUS news for her but I’ll make a post if I see something interesting/ credible.
