The contemporary crisis that Arthur Lounsbery felt in Fuuta's first trial song 'Jihen Joutou’ ――『MILGRAM -ミルグラム-』 Music Interview|’Jihen Jotou’
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
Translator Notes:
Oh boy, this is a long one, I am suffering. Let’s tackle the phrase “contemporary crisis.”
Contemporary Crisis refers to a sense of crisis or danger that is relevant to modern times or contemporary society. It suggests that the crisis being discussed is not just a historical or abstract issue, but something that is pressing and urgent in the present. In the context of the MILGRAM music interview, it implies that the song "Jihen Joutou" captures some of the concerns and anxieties that people may feel in the current social and political climate.
Not only that, let’s go with the song name ‘Jihen Jotou.’ Jihen Jotou doesn’t have an English equivalent and the answers forward in the interview require so much context about the title. The words "jihen" (事変) can be translated as "incident" or "crisis." While "joutou" (上等) can be translated as "first-class" or "top-notch." So a possible interpretation of the title could be "First-class incident", "Top-notch crisis." or “Catastrophe.”
But "joutou" (上等) can also be translated as “Bring it On!” However, it’s rare for it to have this context. If we replace Jotou with this in mind, an alternative title would be "Incite the Incident."
BUT that’s not as catchy as Bring it On and doesn’t have enough allusions to fire. So here are some alternative titles that would’ve worked as well!
Spark the Frenzy / Spark the Crisis (Chuunibyou route)
Fuel the Frenzy
Ignite the Catastrophe (Chuunibyou route)
In the end, they went with “Bring it On!” It’s not a bad alternative title, but I feel that a lot of context was removed because of it.

DECO*27, a leading creator among Vocaloid artists, and Takuya Yamanaka, known for his style of exploring human psychology, have launched a collaborative music video project called "MILGRAM - ミルグラム -". The project features a joint original story and production, and the music video - which is crucial to uncovering the prisoners' crimes - has now been released.
CONTEMPORARY FEELING EXPRESSED IN THE LYRICS
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
―― Fuuta's first official music release titled, 'Jihen Joutou' has finally been made public. Could you share your initial thoughts or impressions about the song's title?"
Fuuta’s Actor: Arthur Lounsbery (Arthur hereafter):
If an incident really happened, wouldn't it be a huge deal? Yet the phrase 'Jihen Joutou' is a powerful expression, isn't it? (laughs) Fuuta himself is a timid person, so how can he say that an incident is first-class...? I wondered what that could possibly mean.
―― Could you share any specific lyrics from the song that resonated with you given that the song carries a powerful message? Were there any particular lines that stood out or left a strong impression on you?
Arthur: I was also struggling with how to sing it, but phrases like "Words leave bruises like a whip," "Hunt down the liars," and "Justice is at your fingertips." are very contemporary. They make you think about a lot of things and the lyrics are impressive and memorable.
IT'S LIKE HE'S SAYING THIS TO FUUTA HIMSELF
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
―― Do you have any specific points or aspects that you focused on or paid particular attention to when singing?
Arthur: Each song has a strong message with their sins hidden in the lyrics. While the quality of the singing is important, I focused on conveying Fuuta's emotions as much as possible.
As for what I was particular about, there's a shout in the last chorus. I wanted the phrase after the shout to feel like it was directed towards Fuuta himself. So if anyone who listens to the entire song can pick up on something about Fuuta as a person, I would be happy.
――When you first saw the lyrics or after finishing singing, did your impression of the character Fuuta change?
Arthur: There wasn't a significant change in my impression, but I felt this indescribable feeling that can’t be put into words. Fuuta is a very contemporary character, and anyone could be him or already is him. Perhaps my impression of Fuuta may have shifted, as I felt a sense of familiarity with him - for better or for worse.
――Despite the fact that the outcome of MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is influenced by viewer votes, can you share your enthusiasm for the next song?
Arthur: Although the number of recordings for MILGRAM’s content itself is still small, I have a strong attachment to Fuuta because of his strong individuality and message. He is a very difficult character for me, “I hate him but I love him,” so I am really happy to be able to sing his heart's cry again in the next season.
What is MILGRAM...? There are still many things I don't know. I want to continue to explore and/or discuss it together with everyone (the fans) and to have fun! Please look forward to it in the future!
――Thank you very much.

Fuuta T1 Cover - Mozaik Role
This song's a bit more odd than some others, but I think it fits Fuuta quite well! Let's see what the connection is, though obviously this is all just my opinion and my view.
CW Online harassment, harmful relationships, sex
Mozaik Role can be read in a few different ways, but the interpretation I'm going with is that it speaks of a romantic relationship between two people which is beginning to break down, as they don't feel satisfied with it. The main reason why is that they feel the connection doesn't go beyond sexual attraction, it's superficial.
Lack of sympathy
and superficial sex
seem to perfectly describe
the unbreakable bond between you and me
Saying things like,
"Either way, I still love you..." (lol) [...]
In the end,
I got tired of you
Since I don't know if it's love or lust,
what should I call this relationship I'm about to end?
(Translation)
(Note: Purely sexual relationships can still be meaningful and aren't inherently inferior to romantic relationships. But sexual attraction isn't enough to hold up a healthy romantic relationship, the same way romantic attraction isn't enough to hold up a healthy sexual relationship)
Staying together and pretending to be in love only hurts them.
Certain words
pierced through you
I described the fluid
flowing from your wound as "love" [...]
Wouldn't it be better to say you used to love me?
We're intertwined, so nobody can touch us
Isn't this fate, too?
It's just a certain world of love that disappears [...]
Can we say we used to love each other?
We were hanging on and struggling
Wouldn't it be better if you just killed me,
since I hate you?
In fact, in the video, Gumi regains her colors when the other person disappears.
That's the idea. I believe the 'mosaic' in the title refers to a scattered and broken up relationship.
So what's the connection to Fuuta? Well, I believe he's essentially talking to his old 'friends' here. The idea is that their connection is completely superficial, though the 'sex' would refer to as he puts it:
(T1) Q1: What is a friend?
F: Folks you can get hyped over the same thing with.
Basically, their relationship doesn't go further than 'those guys I talk to online to cancel people together and hang out to have fun'. It's all superficial, held together by the shared enjoyment of playing videogames and going on online witch hunts-
(Oh my God that's why Killcheroy is represented by a witch it's because it's a witch hunt-)
Not only that, but they're all bad influences on each other, which is obvious given what their 'friendship' led to. That's why it'd be best if they leave each other behind, if they said they used to 'love' each other. Not to mention that Fuuta's friends do abandon him after Killcheroy dies.
So yeah, a completely superficial relationship. Again, other readings exist, but in my opinion this is the one that best fits Fuuta.
Well that was pretty short. Hope it made sense! Take care!
