🟨 Appearance Creator Mod Infos Dump
With the release of ACM (Appearance Creator Mod) I wanted to dump some information that might be useful, especially for non-modders that want to play around with it!
(I had no involvement with the making of this mod at all, nor I have any tie with AMM development, just throwing my two cents as a regular user, player and modder)
You'll find some How To, Tutos and other useful heads-up under read more, if you plan on using this mod as a modding tool (sketching up outfits ideas before modding them as custom appearance for your blorbo for example) or simply want to play blorbo dress up!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
First, You might want to get familiar with these suffix, as you will need to identify what part of a character's outfit you wanna swap
▶ Garments Components Names
h0 - Character's head mesh he - Eyes mesh heb - Eyebrows mesh ht - Teeth mesh hx - Head's details meshes (pimples, makeup...) hh - Hair mesh t0 - Character's Body mesh t1 - Torso Inner Garment (T-shirt, Tank top...) t2 - Torso Outer Garment (Vest, Jacket, Hood...) a0 - Character's Arms mesh (Cyberarms...) l1 - Legs Garment (Pants...) s1 - Feet Garment (Shoes, Socks...) i1 - Accessory / Item Garment (Cyberware, Belt, Necklace...)
▶ Garments Rigs Names
ma - Man Average mb - Man Big mc - Man Child mf - Man Fat mm - Man Massive wa - Woman Average waf - Woman Average Fat
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚠ It's important to note that Garments are NOT automatically refited to the character! You can use a WA garment on a Male NPC but it won't magically fit his shape
⚠ Johnny and Kerry, despite using the MA rig, both have a thinner bodies and most of the garment will float and appear larger on them
⚠ A lot of Garments have their own RIGs and physics, and might T-pose / break upon being swapped on your NPC of choice! For this reason, Hair with physics will automatically break as well
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
AMC is a standalone window in game, and not included in AMM main window!
Tumblr media
After spawning a NPC, the AMC window should fill up with the spawned entity's garment components (and yes it can get crowded really quick, especially on smaller monitors and resolution)
Tumblr media
Yes, It also works on NPVs and NPC+! 🔥
Tumblr media
Everything on these windows can be overwhelming especially if you're not familiar with modding, so I'll throw a little example here using Scorpion
First I want to get rid of his hood and vest, without using AMM's custom appearance, using only ACM
In the list, I look for his Vest and his Hood component
Tumblr media
We can easily turn them invisible by clicking the "Toggle" button Make sure to also disable any decals, stickers, and additional component (his vest also has a decal component, see in the screenshot)
Tumblr media
The little icon next to a component's name indicate it has been edited in some way
Tumblr media
I'll now switch his tank top for something else
Click on "Select From List" next to the "Mesh Path" of the desired component (in Scorpion's case, t1_060_ma_tank__corset) Open up the "Torso" list, and you'll be able to click on any of the listed t1 and t2 garments!
⚠ As mentioned above, garments doesn't magically refits on characters; Scorpion use the Man Average body and rig, anything that isn't a "ma" garment won't fit him correctly!
⚠ Another thing to be aware of is that a lot of garments's might break around the collar area! However if you plan on using this same mesh in an outfit, don't let that scare you, as it's easily fixable in blender
Tumblr media
Export your desired mesh and look for the "NeckCollar_JNT" bone and simply rename it to "Neck" (blender will put some numbers next to it but that's fine, ignore that)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm going to switch to Valentin here to showcase how to deal with potential clipping 🤏 Since Valentin's body is customized, bit chubbier, he always needs refiting
Let's say you swapped your character's top for something else but part of his torso clips out
Tumblr media
To put my boys titas away, I'll look for his body component (t0)
Tumblr media
Click on "Chunk Mask" to open the garment's submeshes list
Garment's meshes are broken down in multiple submeshes that can be easily chunkmasked (disabled) at will to deal with clipping! This is why NPC usually don't even have a full body mesh when taking off their clothes, they are chunkmasked to avoid clipping :D
Tumblr media
I will disable the Submesh 1 by unchecking the "1" box
Tumblr media
Don't be afraid to click on multiple box and see what gets chunkmasked on different meshes! You won't break anything 👌
aaand for now that's about all I can think of that might be confusing for users- tho if you have question don't hesitate to ask on this post, to reblog or to come into DMs!

The importance of the freeze target button in AMM (Appearance Menu Mod) in a side to side comparison.
without freeze (left) | with freeze (right)
Tumblr media
The difference is astounding! I wondered why some of my pics came out super crisp while others did not and I thought it must be lights etc.
But @chevvy-yates came through again, helping me out with this (they suspected I didn't use the freeze button when I showed examples), so I wanna share it here for others as well.
Freeze your targets, chooms!

So I've been kind of wondering for the past couple of months if doing a revamp of my posing/photomode guide for AMM would still be a worthwhile endeavor.
One of the main reasons I made it was because back in the day, posing NPCs (especially any that didn't have the generic male locomotion) was not the most straightforward thing to do, to say the least. But when AMM got the major update that had poses built into the menu, I wasn't sure if it would really be needed in the same way, which put it pretty low on my list of priorities.*
*That guide was also very time-consuming to put together, and while I was happy to do it because I like sharing and organizing information, the main reason I was able to dedicate so much time to it was because I was unemployed. Which, both thankfully and regrettably (lmao), I haven't been for a year.
There are still some quirks with how poses work in AMM (like the way the poses reset if you unfreeze or move a character), but my guess is that it's probably a lot more accessible and a lot less confusing now than a year ago.
I think the support and development for PMU have also done a lot to make posing/expressions (especially for V) way easier than it was in the past.
But it's possible that all of this just seems so much easier to me because I've also been at it for a while now. I don't really feel like I have as much of a beat on where folks, especially newcomers, are with this stuff anymore--Maybe it still feels really overwhelming and incomprehensible.
So, to get to my point: would folks find an update/revamp of that guide beneficial?
I think if I did do one, I would probably streamline it a lot--It would probably just be a refreshed version of the little practice scene to use some spawned NPCs, lights, and maybe a decor item; I think that was what most people used in the current guide anyway. I wouldn't go through explaining how to install AMM, each menu tab in detail, locomotion stuff, etc.
I've also kind of gone back and forth on doing a couple of video tutorials. They'd be a lot easier and quicker for me than writing out step-by-step instructions. But, I know for me personally when I'm learning new processes and software and whatnot, I prefer text over video--Not sure if I'm the minority here.
Poll here for quick feedback, but if anyone wants to share any specific thoughts, questions, struggles, etc., feel free to reblog/comment to do so. (I might not respond to everyone, but I'll definitely read any feedback.)

Yes it can! Got something cool to show ya.
So on a Tuesday night I was kinda stuck in the workroom, running rendering tasks, so I figured I can at least pop in a CP77 disc into the One S I have lying around. I had to make some preparations for my future Corpo AU shots and I've never played the last gen version before, so I was already excited to try it out.
I did all I wanted in about 15 minutes and decided to quickly shoot some pictures to see how they stack up against Series X (apart from lower resolution of course). Halcyon suggested that I start Nocturne Op55N1 to get some pics with Hanako. I decided to ship Corpo!Crystal with her after all (now you know). What the hell, I'm stuck here anyway, right?
So let's see what we can achieve with the most vanilla photo mode experience possible and the right mindset - in Cyberpunk 2077 v1.61 on Xbox One S.
Tumblr media
I was wondering if I can get any shippy saturday material with such a limited set of tools. I got Crystal as close to Hanako as possible, then tried out (mostly unfitting) poses that I'd deviously cut to make them look convincing enough, similarly to my previous vanilla photo mode ventures (I have yet to post some of my favorites).
It worked well enough, even with the barrier around Hanako stopping me from getting them really close together. I created tension between them, simply by having Crystal "Eavesdrop (Left)", "Distracted Girlfriend" or "C'mere, Gonkbrain" towards Hanako.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But come on.... they had to kiss somehow.
I focused on poses that: a) have Crystal lean in any direction b) have an up/down slider to compensate for the height loss from leaning
Leaning poses made it possible to bring them even closer to each other, but it wasn't enough. No matter which one I chose, her barrier was impossible to break... or so I thought.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, the counter is seemingly inaccessible, but jumping on any stool makes it easy to get on. Collision system tries really hard to push you off of it but, with some luck, switching photo mode on and off can stop it from happening*, let you stay on top and move freely. Now I was back using poses with up/down sliders and I quickly settled on "Off to the Races" as the one most likely to make them kiss. Luckily, the minimum slider value was IDEAL to get Crystal's lips on the same level as Hanako's. The only issue was with moving C left/right/close/far, as her collision remained in the same place she spawned - on the bar top. At this point sliders were useless, so I had to go back to gameplay to correct her position. After some trial and error I set her perfectly. Now a quick rotation towards Hanako and voila! Now they kiss! * - if your V spawns with the default starting pose - "Tabula Rasa", "What Can I Get Ya?" or "Night City Strut" - then it's a good sign
Tumblr media
And how does it look from the outside perspective?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, that's a lot of steps and time spent on a small photo shoot. The lighting is what it is, their eyes are open, Johnny The Parasite stands exactly where I'd want to place the camera, but it's still cute and it proves that creativity can get you places with vanilla photo mode. And final results can look really good, even on a base Xbox One.
Of course, photo editing software like GIMP can get you even better results. I use it to change aspect ratio of my pics, patch up any lighting/texture bugs, and sometimes for basic color correction. For the sake of clarity, I didn't use it for shots in this post. Just know it's there and it's easy to learn.
I couldn't decide whether it should be a blog post or a tutorial, so it's a blog post that goes step by step through my thought process, I guess. I might do some vanilla VP tutorials in the future, if the demand is there, but right now my job doesn't even let me finish my Legacy of Kain: Defiance playthrough, so I can't promise anything!

hey there! your cyberpunk shots are absolutely stunning im literally so in love 🥲 do you mind if i ask you which mods made is possible to pose and mod johnny around?
Hey You! Thank you so much <3 It means a lot to me! I don't mind at all! And I am always willing to give tips and share my tricks! If you want to know something just ask! c: About posing Johnny, I use AMM mod to spawn Johnny, set his location, and then download poses for Corpo Locomotion! But for beginners, I would recommend @fereldanwench's tutorial about CP77 Photomode and Posing! I'd never heard about Locomotions before her tutorial, which really enlightened my mind.

🟨 Random CP77 Tutorials
👋 Heya!
I decided to save and stock some of my private CP77 modding tutorials, that I usually do in Discord servers threads, on my Google Drive
I'll maaaybe go through the more interesting ones and re-write them into proper tutorials, but for now I figured this could still be useful for some of y'all!
As said before, those were private discord tutos, so don't expect any seriousness and expect a lot of typos! Those are tutorials for friends, so you'll have to deal with my goofy ass ✋😌
Keep in mind that some (if not all) of these are OLD, so the methods and my understanding/skills evolve since then!
Tumblr media
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Adding stitches to a mesh - My workflow on how I go about adding stitches to ported garments. Can also be used to add rivets / buttons / scratches!
Garment replacers with physics - For people who prefer old garment replacers over the XL additions, this will allow you to have physics enable garment as well :>
Making Fishnet Garments - How to convert any shirt, pants, garments into a mesh/fishnet
Move bones between armatures - or how to Give physics to a mesh!
Restore physics to an edited hair - Can also be used to add physics to a fully modded hair :>
Stop meshes from disappearing - Useful for modded meshes that likes to turn invisiible at a certain distance
Swap custom entities with AMM - Edit the AMM's database to add your custom NPV and NPC+ into your swappable entities :3
Use guns as garment in your oufits - Slap any guns or weapons models as accessories in your outfits
Wearable Garment Port How I port custom models into the game as wearable garments! My workflow from A to Z, as always this is just my own workflow, don't take this as THE method to port stuff :>
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Hope those can be useful! 🤙 Happy modding

NPC: Nadezhda Tiurina
This is just a random portrait that happened because I spawned in a location using AMM and got attacked by her instantly. But I saw how cool she looked and pressed N to take her portrait before she could harm my girl Macha, who was standing there in her stunning bodysuit all defenseless.
I have since learned about passive mode in AMM thanks to @dustymagpie - it makes all NPCs non-hostile so that you can snap pictures without being attacked 😅 its in the Tools section of AMM and you just have to turn it on.
This girl is beautiful, and I was elated to finally photograph Mantis Blades. They look so awesome!
Bonus: Look at Macha just standing there stunned

Hi there! I was just wondering if you have a tutorial on how to create NPC spawn animations?
Ayo!!
I do not- BUT! Lets create it right here right now so buckle up here's a (hopefully comprehensive) tutooooo~ 🤏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Custom poses!
What you'll need :
AMM (or any other mods that spawn characters)
WolvenKIT or the game files extracted [basegame_4_animation.archive]
The 010 hex editing software with the CP77 template as well as the scripts (I recommend joining the CP77 Modding server to grab those!)
The WolvenKIT console (CP77Tools)
Tumblr media
I'll assume you already know some basic modding (extracting the files with the console or WKit etc)
It's important to also know that some characters have their own locomotion files (meaning unique pathing etc) Like Panam, Goro etc I won't go over every single ones here!
For this tutorial, I'll make an animation for Mitch, who uses the Man Average Civilian Locomotion (MAC)
The MAC locomotion [man_average_civilian_locomotion.anims] is located here [base\animations\npc\generic_characters\male_average\locomotion]
Tumblr media
This will be the path of your mod!
To grab an animation, you'll have to go into the Animations folder, there you'll see multiple other folders- the [main_quests] and [side_quests] have unique animations not used by any other characters outside of that that specific quest!
Tumblr media
For example, q103 is Ghost Town, the start of Panam's quest line
I'll use the animation of Mitch hugging Panam when we meet them at the camp!
Once you find the animation you wish to use, simply copy and paste it in your last folder in your mod project, the [locomotion] folder, and rename the .anims file with the character's locomotion file's name, in Mitch's case its [man_average_civilian_locomotion]
Once pasted and renamed, you can now open the .anims file in 010!
A lot of .anims file actually have multiple animation inside of it to choose from, simply open the [struct DATA] handle to expand the list. Since mine is an unique animation, there’s only one [animAnimation]
Tumblr media
I’ll now click on the [CNAMES] handle and use the PASTE script (I recommend setting a shortkey, you’ll use it a lot for custom poses among other things!)
Tumblr media
A window should pop up asking for an input : Here, type [idle_stand] (this is the name of the idle animation the NPCs use when spawned!)
Tumblr media
This will add a new CNAME to the list. Now, go back into [struct DATA] and open up the [animAnimation] you wish to grab!
The new CNAME we added will automatically be the last one in the list, not wasting time by checking what number it has, I simply put a really large number to be sure to grab the last name in the list!
Click on the OG name and simply put 500 with the numpad to change the CNAME to [idle_stand]
Tumblr media
Save your file and pack your mod! You’re done!
Load a save file, spawn any character using the MAC locomotion and VOILA 💛
Tumblr media
Hope this helped a lil bit! If you need help with getting into modding etc, I really recommend joining the Modding Server- even if you don’t interact, it has a lot of tutorials available for everyone!

Hi wench!I love ur pictures so much.English is not my first language so I’ll try to describe my problems briefly.I downloaded AMM and (pose)Male NPC mode.
Although I read ur tutor but I still don’t know how to make NPC use the pose.I can’t find this pose anywhere.
If this is possible, can u teach me how to make it work.I hope u can receive this message and I’m looking forward to ur reply!!!
Hi there! Thank you so much for the kind words! ♥
I did sort of gloss over exactly how to install the mods, which is something I'll take into consideration when I give that tutorial a little update at the beginning of 2022. Hopefully, this will help you figure out the issue in the meantime!
(Also, I'm going to assume that AMM is launching for you and the issue isn't with that particular mod. But if AMM isn't working correctly, make sure you're on the last game patch, and make sure you also have the latest version CET installed. If AMM is the issue, just lemme know and I'll give more info on that process.)
I'll break this down into two sections: first, I'll walk through the basics of installing a pose .archive file. Then I'll explain a couple of situations that might cause a pose to not work even if you follow these steps.
The Basics of Installing a Pose .Archive File
1. If you don't have a mod folder under your game files folder yet, go ahead and do that now. If you're on Steam, the path will look something like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod
Tumblr media
2. I also recommend setting up a folder to house all of your mods in another location.
When you download an NPC pose pack, you can have upwards of 100s of mod .archive files, but you can only use one .archive at a time. You don't want to keep them all in your game files folders, but you also don't want to have to keep redownloading individual files over and over again, so this helps keep things accessible and tidy.
You can do this however you want, but in case it helps to see how I do it: I keep a (relatively) organized folder on my desktop where I can extract and sort the various types of mods I use.
The Photomode folder here is where I keep all of my pose and expression mods for NPCs and V.
Tumblr media
Under my Photomode folder, I also organize things further based on poses for NPCs, poses for V, expressions, etc.
Tumblr media
And then under my _NPC Poses folder, I split everything up based on what type of NPC locomotion the poses will work on. The two main ones you should be aware of for now are just the Civ Locomotion and Corpo Locomotion. (The Goro and Spawned V ones are more "specialty" mods so just disregard those, and I'll explain more about the locomotions in the troubleshooting section.)
Tumblr media
3. If you haven't already, download and unzip the pose pack you want to use in your general storage folder.
I'm using the Sit pack from the (POSES) Male NPC set, which is for the average civilian locomotion, so I'm going to put those files in that folder ( C:\Users\Wench\Desktop\CP2077 Mods\Photomode\_NPC Poses\Civ Loco).
4. After you've unzipped the files, select and copy only one .archive file that you want to use.
Tumblr media
5. Then paste it into your Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod folder.
Tumblr media
6. Now you just have to launch the game, open AMM, and spawn your male NPC of choice. The NPC should automatically spawn with the pose you selected.
Troubleshooting
There are, however, a few things that can prevent an NPC from spawning with your selected NPC pose:
You have more than one NPC pose .archive file in your mod folder. This is an easy fix: at present, you can only use these .archive files one at a time, so if you see two or more pose files in your mod folder, just delete the file(s) you don't want to use.
You've spawned the NPC as a companion. Most of the time, the NPC will still have the pose, but it'll be a little glitchy while they try to follow V. This is also an easy fix: in AMM, go to the Settings tab and then uncheck Spawn as Companion at the top. Respawn your NPC and they'll stop trying to follow V.
Your spawned NPC and your pose file have conflicting locomotion (aka character movement) requirements. The most common example of this is trying to use an "average civilian" or "generic" male pose on a male NPC that has the "corpo" locomotion (or vice versa). So anything from the (POSES) Male NPC - Average Civilian set will only work on male characters that have the default male locomotion, like Kerry, Viktor, or Mitch. But there are some characters, like Goro, who have a different default locomotion. In order for the average civilian poses to work on Goro, you'll need to have an additional .archive file that will convert his locomotion to the average civilian one. I know @wingdeer has locomotion files for several characters in her MEGA folder, and you might be able to find more options in the Pose & Animation Spreadsheet. If this is what's causing the problem for you, you'll just need to make sure that in addition to the pose .archive file, you have a locomotion .archive file for your NPC as well. (Regarding Goro specifically: he actually has a few ways now of getting poses to work for him--If he's the character you're trying to spawn, let me know, and I can give a full rundown of different ways to get poses for him.)
I hope this helps! ♥♥♥ If you're still having trouble or need anything clarified, feel free to reach out again.

Is there tutorial anywhere that shows how people are capturing these amazing pics in CP77? I assume it’s with AMM, and while I can figure out how to spawn items (but can’t figure out how to rotate them... yet), I can’t figure out how to get chars in those poses that are being shown.

how do you swap models in cyberpunk?
Idk if you’re asking in general or for a full tutorial so here we gooo jskbdgjb I’ll focus more on the hex editing aspect and packing
For this tutorial, I’ll be swapping Bryce with Takemura as the example, and you’ll want to open up the hex editor and drag both their files into it (Takemura is in main_npc while Bryce is in corpo) The hex you’ll want to change is the character you’re swapping out, so in this case, Bryce, using Takemura’s only as a reference for the outfit names
Bryce has two “outfits,” one being his default and the second where he’s just a little bit dead, and Takemura has about five. Here’ we’ll be using Saburo's bodyguard to swap out with Bryce
Tumblr media
Now you’ll want to type Takemura’s outfit into Bryce’s hex so that “saburo_bodyguard” replaces  “_q110__bryce_mosley”
Tumblr media
Be careful not to backspace or do anything that will change the file size because it’ll break, if you make a mistake, simply move your cursor back and retype
Tumblr media
And now you just repeat with all the other outfits (if you want to or if they have more than one outfit)  If the outfit name you’re swapping out is longer than Bryce’s (for example, saburo_bodyguard_wounded), it’s okay to replace proxyMesh/raRef, as long as there are “00′s” before and after the outfit name
Now that the hex editing is done, you’ll want to save Bryce’s file as Takemura’s, so save as and rename it “goro_takemura.app”
Making sure everything is spelled and typed in correctly is crucial, otherwise, it won’t work.
Make sure you save the .app file to the correct named folder in the correct file path that the basegame folder follows, so “base\characters\apperances\main_npc” for this example. Takemura’s file is in main_npc, so the ending folder of the swap has to be named “main_npc” and just dump the file into the “main_npc” folder
Tumblr media
And to pack it, just open up cp77 tools and type in “pack -p (filepath)” Here, it’ll be pack -p C:\Users\(username)\Desktop\takemura_to_bryce
Tumblr media
Now all we have to do is test to see if it works
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there he is!
Now remember, because we only swapped one outfit (Saburo's bodyguard) Bryce will only show up where Takemura is in that specific outfit, he’ll be invisible everywhere else if he’s in a different outfit, like in Tom’s Diner, where he uses the “ronin shirt” outfit. But you can just straight up change Takemura’s outfit with the appearance changer mod so he’ll be there in virtually every scene

Hi there! I’ve been wondering, what tools do you use for modding? I’ve been wanting to get into it but don’t know where to start. (Love your work btw!)
Heya! 👋 Thank you so much, I'm glad you like my stuff 💛😊
I personally use a lot of different softwares! Main ones being WolvenKit, Noesis and Blender
Depending on what you'll want to create tho, there's a lot of others useful software to grab
If you're not sure where to start, I recommend checking the Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Wiki here!
Here's a list of the most common Modding Tools we use to mod CP77
You will also find a lot of community guides on how to create different mods, from garments, textures, sounds, changing a NPC's appearances, etc etc
I can recommend joining a CP77 Discord Server, a lot of members of the community delved at least once into modding (light or heavy) and are able to help with specific questions if needed!
Hope you'll have fun modding the game 🙏🦝
