After reading Valentine Low’s new piece in The Times, here are a few of my thoughts of things not in that piece, specifically King Charles’ future letters patent.
Beatrice, Eugenie, Archie, & Lilibet will be stripped of their HRH style and prince & princess titles. Same for Louise & James even though they don’t use titles. All six will be styled as daughters & sons of a peer going forward, e.g. The Lady Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor and The Lady Eugenie Brooksbank.
Harry & Andrew are going to lose their HRH style for sure because they are not “working royals,” even though they are both the sons of a monarch. Possibly even lose their prince titles as well. (If they don’t lose both their titles & styles this year, then Andrew definitely will lose them both permanently within the next three years. Harry will only get his back when he returns as a working royal years later in the future.)
King Charles III will change the House name from Windsor to Mountbatten-Windsor. The title & style changes will further delineate the House of Mountbatten-Windsor from the former House of Windsor.

Congratulations to Birgitte on being awarded The Garter!
I will note that QEII could have given it to her at any time in the last five to ten years but didn't. Obviously, Charles is interested in awarding people for their service. Sophie is clearly going to get The Garter and The Thistle by the end of the decade.
William getting Great Master of The Order of the Bath was to be expected.
But Kate receiving Order of the Companions of Honour? Oh, this is not the "honour" some people are portraying it to be.
Did William throw a fit behind the scenes and demand Kate be given something? Are the courtiers over at BP & The King pissed at Kate? Both?
One thing is clear, Kate certainly isn't in danger of dying from her cancer anytime soon. If she was, then they would have given her The Garter.
But she's also isn't good enough--i.e. hasn't worked hard enough--to get the Order of St. John or Royal Victorian Chain either.
As a royal and a future queen, receiving no honour today would have been better than getting this one. This is bad. This is saying The Princess of Wales is on par with entertainers, not royals who serve the nation and the monarchy.
This is shade.
This is bad.
This is very bad.
It's so bad that I wish @helenaaurealia was still around to tell us how bad this really is.
Because this is bad.
Because Kate clearly is not going to get any higher orders in the next several years. Probably nothing for the rest of the decade. If she was going to get a higher honor within the next ten years, then she wouldn't have gotten anything today.
Someone's stock is about to plummet.

Meghan cited a "convention" that the grandchildren of the monarch are titled prince or princess. Under protocol set up by King George V in 1917, the children and grandchildren of a sovereign have the automatic right to the title HRH, or His or Her Royal Highness, and the title of prince or princess. That extension does not apply to the great-grandchildren of a monarch, although Queen Elizabeth made an exception giving the titles to William's children because they are directly in the line of succession.  When Archie was born, Harry and Meghan announced his name as Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the surname used by the royal family. But, as Meghan pointed out in the interview, Archie and the baby girl they're expecting this summer would be entitled to become prince and princess when Harry's father, Prince Charles, becomes king. "Even with that convention I'm talking about — while I was pregnant, they said they wanted to change the convention for Archie. Well why?" Meghan said. She said she was never given an answer.
~ CBS News, Meghan says Archie's title was not royal family's "right to take away," 09 March 2021
Discussing the move on the latest episode of the Palace Confidential series, the Mail on Sunday's Assistant Editor Kate Mansey said the newly-appointed Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were surprised to learn that James would not inherit his father's new title. She explained: 'My sources say that they had assumed that they would get the Duke and Duchess title and it would go to James. Because why would you get a Dukedom and it not pass to your son?' However, Kate said this is an example of King Charles 'looking ahead' to the future of his 'slimmed down' monarchy.
She continued: 'As James gets older has his children, they have children, you're [left with] a Duke of Edinburgh title that is so far removed from the Crown. 'And it's a really important title. You can't have a situation where the Duke of Edinburgh is in several generations' time so far removed so as not to be considered royal.'
~ Kate Mansey, as quoted by Lydia Hawken, "Prince Edward and Duchess of Edinburgh 'always assumed' his new title would be passed down to their son James - but King Charles is 'looking ahead' to future of his 'slimmed down monarchy', Kate Mansey tells PALACE CONFIDENTIAL"
The Duke of Edinburgh’s comments at the garden party for the Duke of Edinburgh’s award, where he mentioned that everyone changing their title in a single year can get complicated, is now taking on a rather sinister tone in my mind.

Well, I see the BP officials are getting things ready for the big announcement, and they already have their knives out for William.
While this is all highly sensible and commendable, there is a collaboration closer to home which some courtiers within the Palace hope William might entertain. It is one which involves another great royal convenor: his father, the King. At Buckingham Palace –– the office of the King and Queen — some are beginning to feel that the heir to the throne might do well to join forces with his father. Instead, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace are run as two very separate and distinct entities. The first step towards better collaboration between the two courts, it is suggested, is for the heir to the throne to keep the sovereign better informed of his plans. This might be seen to be particularly prudent while the 75-year-old King is following medical advice to stay away from large public appearances while he continues his cancer treatment.
[...]
It means that Charles has no appetite to attempt to meddle in his son’s decisions, particularly as they both have very different approaches to the job. While Kensington Palace chooses to release a DIY image on social media to mark Mother’s Day, Buckingham Palace is more likely to take the opposite view. The King is said to have recently commissioned a photographer to take his picture in military uniform. Taking a dislike to the tone and style of the images, he is understood to have commissioned a separate photographer to conduct the photoshoot all over again. Standards, rather than vanity, are thought to have been foremost in his mind when considering the images that would depict his reign. William reportedly remains “deeply frustrated” that the fuss over Kate is not dying down. There is, however, one person who might be able to offer sound advice. With so few senior members of the royal family in play, there are courtiers who feel that William would do well to take his own advice — and work more closely with the only man on Earth who truly understands the pressures of his job.
Yup. Those BP officials are pissed at The Waleses' fucking up--particularly William--which is why William should never have attempted to co-opt the big announcement with his own news.

Announcing Eddy as Duke of Edinburgh explains the rush to claim Prince & Princess titles. Those LP are coming and they think KC3 will blink to not take it away because “racism” but James and Louise will also get affected only they won’t be embarrassed by a loss in status.
Also:
KC3 - 1. Charles haters and Fleet Street - 0. Their claims of Eddy not getting the title or Charlotte getting were wrong, as expected.
When will people learn to stop dancing to their or the Harkles’ tune 😆
Tumblr media
And I'll bet that it was Eugenie who told her cousin about the move ahead of time, which allowed for the dumb wife to enact her christening plan.
Because Eugenie is going to lose her title & style just like Beatrice. It's not just going to affect the Sussex children or James & Louise.
Charles is enacting decisions that were made in the late 1990s.
Going forward only working royals will have HRH and prince/ss and if they're in direct line to the throne.
I bet that a more detailed explanation regarding why Ed's new dukedom for his lifetime only was going to be released concurrent with an explanation of title & style restrictions going forward. That part is being delayed, probably until the wife starts officially merching her kids.

“King Charles is not a housing association for distant relatives”
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/king-charles-plan-slimmed-down-monarchy-frogmore-cottage-harry-meghan-b1069700.html
And so it begins…the changes to course correct a bloated operation. Ready for the KC3 haters who were calling him weak the other day to start calling him cruel 🍿
The news came as the King’s visit to France was delayed after extensive rioting on Thursday night. Senior figures have told the Standard that after the period of transition following the coronation, the King, assisted by Queen Camilla, will move to tackle inefficiencies in what is being viewed as a largely overstaffed and outdated system.
Vice-Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt, Master of the Household, and the Keeper of the Privy Purse Sir Michael Stevens, responsible for finance, will execute the shake-up of what is described as a “top-heavy royal household”. Camilla has been overseeing the fine detail of the King’s plan to ensure that after the coronation the royal household will be run the “Clarence House way”.
One senior figure said: “It is not about cuts, it is about getting the best value for money from those on the payroll. Sometimes less is more.”
Another source added: “The King is not some sort of housing association for distant relatives.” Harry and Meghan were given use of Frogmore Cottage, a five-bedroom mansion on the Windsor estate in 2018, by the late Queen.
[...]
However, the couple’s loss of the cottage, their only British home, is said to be just the “tip of the iceberg”.
It is understood Charles is keen to reduce the number of royals with a financial dependence on the crown, especially if they do not have an active role to play. He wants funds from the Duchy of Lancaster, the portfolio of land, property and assets held in trust for the King, and the sovereign grant that covers the cost of royal travel on official engagements, to be spent more effectively. He also wants to pay his staff competitive salaries and pensions so that he gets the best people for the jobs.
“There will be staff cutbacks. That has already started. The buzz phrase is ‘value for money,’” said the source.
Several members of the extended royal family have enjoyed subsidised palace accommodation, with some having apartments that are being used by their children as “London pads”.
The source said: “Over time, that is going to change. Properties will be let at commercial rates going forward and to people outside the family. Where it is in a palace environment they will of course be security vetted.”
Privately, the King’s senior staff have made it clear to members of the extended family that if they cannot afford where they are living, they should “cut their cloth”. “A lot of practices that have evolved during the last reign will be changing. The King is not heartless or reckless, but if the family members are not part of the core family and not working for the crown, it is fair for them to house themselves and fund themselves,” a senior figure said.
[...]
One insider said: “The staffing has been on the top-heavy side. That has built up over time, with advisers to advisers and so on. That’s all going to stop. The boss wants effective people in effective positions doing effective jobs being paid appropriately.” The senior source added: “Much of what was in place doesn’t make economic sense and will be changed during the new reign.”
Yup. This is about what I expected.
People forget that Charles turned the Duchy of Cornwall into the behemoth it is now. It was struggling and in debt when he took it over from his mother.

I laughed when I saw Charles’ Time piece was written by “E” (Meghan is really original with nicknames). I can see why Meghan would be upset, her Vogue co-editor betrayed her and jumped ship to become the Global Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust. I think MTW is right she must be in a manic phase right now.
Yup. She's got to figure out how to make herself look relevant when the walls are closing in on her. And she doesn't have much time to do it.
Can't wait for that divorce-announcement interview. Who will she get to interview her? Gayle?

Growing up on a council estate in West London, the world of royalty was one I didn’t pay much mind to. What would that have to do with young Black boys in Ladbroke Grove? Much more than I realized, it turned out. As the quiet and fastidious work of the Prince’s Trust, a charity set up by the then Prince of Wales, began to put our friends and family into steady employment, its outreach programs inspired many of us and instilled confidence. I didn’t realize then just how close our now King was to all of this.
He didn’t have to do any of it. He could’ve let his privilege shield him from the realities of our hardship in a time when these were not a cause célèbre. But he always met us with an open mind and a listening ear.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know King Charles III better—and in 2021, I became a global ambassador of the Prince’s Trust.
As a man, the King is not always who people expect him to be. He is charming, funny, socially confident, with a kindness that always seeks to put others at ease. His love for the environment is well documented, but his love for his subjects burns even brighter. The monarchy is not perfect, but in Charles we have a King who understands both tradition and what it takes to evolve with the times. It is a delicate balance and a rare ability. I am excited to see him carry his passions with him into a whole new era.
Enninful, OBE, is the British Vogue editor in chief and Vogue European editorial director
I thought Harry's wife was going to position herself amongst that 100, but it doesn't appear that she succeeded, seeing as her name is nowhere on that list.

Oh, so now that the coronation rehearsal plans are leaking, reporters are finally confirming that Harry & his wife and Andrew will be set apart from the rest of the working royals.
I am so not surprised.
Just waiting to read in the coming weeks about how their titles & styles will be going, going, going, gone too.

Within less than 6 months of being on the throne, Charles has already kicked out BOTH Harry and Andrew permanently. While I enjoy the frequent "incandescent with rage" reporting of William, but I hope the w&k stans realise Charles has already completed the most crucial and difficult decisions of his reign.
Oh, well, big moves to be sure, but Charles is going to be making further big decisions about Andrew down the road in the next few years.
I suspect that putting Andrew in Frogmore is a way of sidelining him even more because Charles & William know there is more that will come out about Andrew. Andrew continuing to live in Royal Lodge will just further exacerbate the problem. They've got to get his smug & stupid ass into a less posh place, the sooner the better.
Kicking out the Sussexes out of Frogmore is just icing on the cake. Harry's stuff will probably be separated from his wife's.
King Charles is making the moves his mother wouldn't make because she didn't want to get her hem dirty. Oh well...

IF and that is a big IF, charles indeed plan to release LP on stripping titles etc, how does it impact James ? So he move from viscount to earl then to master? I dont buy this strip titles at all.
Tumblr media
King Charles cannot strip peerage titles from anyone. Only parliament can do that.
James is styled as the son of a peer, specifically the son of a duke as of today. He is now The Earl of Wessex. Previously he was Viscount Severn. He will continue to be known as The Earl of Wessex for the rest of his life.
In the future, King Charles will release a letters patent restricting HRH styles and prince & princess titles. People assume Louise & James to be prince & princesses based on the 1917 Letters Patent by King George V, even though they do not use them publicly. When KCIII releases that letters patent, he will remove the HRH style and princess titles from Beatrice & Eugenie. He will remove the HRH style and prince title from Prince Archie of Sussex. He will remove the HRH style and princess title from Princess Lilibet of Sussex. He will remove the option of HRH styles and prince/ss titles from Louise & James. Louise & James have never publicly used those titles. They have always been styled as the children of an earl, without use of the HRH. Louise will continue to be known as The Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, just as she was prior to today. James's courtesy title changes from Viscount Severn to The Earl of Wessex when his father Edward's senior courtesy title changed today.

Rebecca English's recent revelation:
And while, fortunately, the King appears to be responding well to treatment and is hopeful of taking up more forward-facing public duties in the near future, recent events will have been a stark reminder of what awaits the Wales’ in the not so distant future. It is why, although his appearances today were both welcome and heartfelt, we should not expect to see a wholesale return to royal duties for the prince. Instead, I understand, he is likely to undertake one or two public engagements each week - often on the same day in order to minimise time away from Kate and the children - as well as continuing with his usual behind-the-scenes work. He will, I am told, almost certainly take some sort of role around the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in June, as well as attending Trooping the Colour and the annual Order of the Garter service and, perhaps, one of the annual summer garden parties for worthy community heroes. And he will definitely continue to undertake investitures at Windsor Castle on behalf of the King over the coming weeks.
So the kids can be in school five days per week, but William can only do public engagements ONE DAY per week.
Somehow this wasn't a problem prior to William's recent four week break.
Tumblr media
During the week of 18 to 24 February, William worked three days:
The BAFTAs on Sunday
The British Red Cross on Tuesday
An investiture at Windsor Castle on Wednesday
During the week of 25 February to 02 March, William worked two days but was originally scheduled to work three:
Missed King Constantine's memorial service due to "personal reasons" on Tuesday
Visited a synagogue on Thursday
Went to Wales for a few visits for St. David's Day
During the week of 10 to 16 March, William worked three days:
Commonwealth Service plus Earthshot function on Monday
Earthshot meeting behind closed doors at Windsor on Wednesday
A youth visit plus The Diana Awards' on Thursday
And yet, William is still being outworked by his father who HAS cancer and probably even The Duke of Kent.
Somehow, William was able to work three weeks with more than one day of public engagements per week prior to the kids' Easter break.
But now that not-rigorous schedule from February and March would be too much for delicate William, even though all his known children are in school FIVE DAYS per week.
And William also has his in-law to help out. They help out so much that William was able to go to a pub with his mother-in-law in Norfolk two weeks ago, when he was on vacation.
And let's not forget that nanny Maria is still around.
Just like the sudden need to do significant renovations at Adelaide Cottage, this goes beyond the fishy timeline about Kate's cancer and William's regular workshy-ness. It's pretty clear William is going into semi-hiding. This isn't about helping Kate; this is about avoiding the British general public. Because the general public is unpredictable and will say what they really think of you, when given the opportunity, to your face.
I guess that is what happened when William miscalculated on his pr machinations and realized his father wasn't going to move the big announcement back to suit William's needs. There's a reason why you make certain announcements on the anniversary of a happy day rather than a sad one.
Can't wait until Andrew permanently loses his favorite three little words. Along with Harry. Beatrice, Eugenie, Archie, and little Lilibet will all be losing a little bit more than that, as they will lose four words.

The RF website has been updated to reflect the Prince and Princess titles so the Wales fandom are now calling for a Republic, Charles to abdicate or to die.
He’s not meant to leave William a mess but they have no sympathy for the mess the Queen left Charles before he’s even been crowned.
And isn’t it funny that anytime Charles did something they like, it was because it was really William pulling the strings, but today they insist William should not be dragged in because he’s not King? Doesn’t calling for Charles’ abdication make them no better than the Sussex fan base? Make it make sense!
Tumblr media
I can make sense of it because all those complaining don't realize that when Charles issues the LP regarding titles & styles it's not going to affect just the Sussex kids.
Those individuals only think about a) punishing the Sussexes and b) blaming Charles. Those are their priorities.
None of them are anticipating a letters patent that could affect James & Louise and possibly Beatrice & Eugenie. But that's because they don't understand and likely aren't aware of "The Way Ahead Group" from the 1990s.
I anticipate a lot of Charles hate and accusations of how mean he is from those same people castigating him now because they don't understand the circumstances.

But this is not the view of her close advisers, including, crucially, her personal private secretary Sir Christopher Geidt, who is wedded to the idea of streamlining the Royal Family. Prince Charles is of the same view. While very fond of his own extravagances, he has long been known to favour a slimmed-down monarchy, for cost reasons (trust Air Miles Andy to take his daughter round Newcastle in a chopper!) but also for image purposes. Everyone — apart from Andrew —sees that in the 21st century there is little appetite for peripheral royals to be opening leisure centres surrounded by bodyguards on the public purse. For peripheral royals who are averse to publicity, even less so. Canny old Princess Anne saw the way this was going years ago when she decided that her two children should not have titles, be styled ‘HRH’ or have any royal duties, and instead make their own way in life. So far she has been vindicated; Zara is a successful equestrienne and her son Peter Phillips is thriving in his work managing sponsorship for RBS. Partly this is all down to character. Anne — though not averse to some pomp, with a soft spot for motorcycle outriders — is earthy, hard-working and practical by nature. The Wessexes, too, bruised by early criticisms of their commercial ventures — Edward’s in television, Sophie’s in public relations — have never expressed any desire for their young children to have royal roles: Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn have titles, but no HRH.
~ Richard Kay, "A royal schism and why Prince Andrew STILL insists on helicopters and guards for Beatrice and Eugenie," 22 October 2011

First, it was Roya Nikkhah's article in The Sunday Times.
Now, Will & Kate were conveniently spotted out and about with a write-up in The Sun.
Yup. Someone--*cough* William *cough*--got a lecture at Windsor Castle about failed public relations strategy and becoming an international laughingstock last week (Monday) and was told to turn that shit around.

Tarot readers predicting same things, everyone's titles will be gone soon, Charles made up his mind.
https://celebritytarot.tumblr.com/post/711398191097118720/1-the-below-news-came-in-5-hours-after-i-had-done
Not surprising.
Charles is making the decisions that were agreed upon decades ago. Back in the late 1990s.
Decisions that QEII didn't have the stones to put into action.
Everyone whining about the Sussex kids this week doesn't realize what is actually going to happen in the future.
Beatrice & Eugenie and Archie & Lilibet will lose their titles & styles.
James & Louise will lose the opportunity to ever claim those titles & styles.
