Personality : Gehenna is described as calm, yet cold. She doesn't seem to care that much for anything, except for her own reputation in school. She struggles with her emotions, and does not know how to show them properly. You'd expect her to act differently with family, but she doesn't. Karchile notably dislikes how serious she is and tries to liven her up to no avail. Phennel just wants the both of them to be happy.| Despite being her identical twin, Phennel is the complete opposite of Gehenna. He is shy, and unlike Gehanna, who simply doesn't show her emtions due to just not knowing how, Phennel simply has trouble doing so. As much as he wants to, this was a constant thing for him. Due to how the twins were raised, he often thinks of himself as less then Gehenna and struggles with his self-esteem due to that.

With her unique magic, Gehenna has the ability to transfer her feelings of anguish and inferiority onto the person she used it on by physical contact. It renders the person vulnerable, feeding on their insecurities as the sadness slowly consumes them. Can only be used when Gehenna's feelings are at an extreme, and is hard to snap the affected out of.

⟬⟨Astremia Backstory- Gehenna's Side⟩⟭

Back to Profile

Because she was the first-born twin, Gehenna was expected to learn whatever was needed of her as the house’s heir. It made her busier, and she had less time to spend with her family as a result.

As a result of this training of hers, Gehenna became more closed off, and could barely express herself. An expected and welcome result, for her grandmother. According to the officials, “she had no need for something as useless as emotions.”

Maybe that's why it developed so early.

It was at a birthday party of theirs, well, more Gehenna's, but while she had left to the courtyard for a bit, just to catch a bit of air, the child of another noble and Phennel had shown up. Though the two looked like they were getting along, Phennel seemed quite uncomfortable. It was suspicious, to say the least. Gehenna, being just a bit away, could hear their conversation.

“You're nothing, you know? Compared to her, you're just a phony.”

What? What was that they said? Had they just- insulted him? Her own brother? In front of her?

Granted, they didn’t even know she was there. That would change soon though, Gehenna revealing herself with a small hum. She smiled, chilling, at least for her 13-year-old self.

“What was that, if I may ask? I could have sworn I heard you call Phennel a phony. Huh.”

Phennel looked at her, dismissing the noble child’s words. It was as if he believed them.

She dismissed his thoughts as well, continuing to almost yell at the noble. Truly, they had no idea how much suffering the two went through in the childhood. In Gehenna’s opinion, they deserved to suffer in the same way.

Suffer.

Gehenna had grabbed their arm in a spur of anger, and suddenly, now the twins were watching the other child fall to the floor, losing the shine in their eyes. They seemed to be mumbling something to themself, caring not for the outside world.

Strangely, Gehenna seemed to feel lighter— as if a burden was lifted from her heart.
