Neighbour

You could not stand him, the very thought of him made you nauseous and when seeing his picture on Instagram, you could have thrown up in your mouth. Still - when you first saw him from your window, there was a spark in your chest, and you couldn't wait to follow his daily life from your third floor apartment. Imagine that, living just across the street from an actual rock star...

Finally you had to go out and try to run into him just by accident. He didn't have to see you - actually you didn't even want to talk to him, that arrogant and self-pathetic bastard - but you wanted to just see what he did when outside of his perfect home. That evening you walked by a charitable basket ball game, and saw him in the audience. He was smiling, his wife was laughing and pressing closely against his body, dressed in a green flannel shirt and charcoal jeans. You weren't attracted to him, but you still felt a sting, when you watched, how happy they seemed together. You didn't notice it yourself nor could you control it, but your looks contained shades of envy, longing and just a tad bit of wishfulness. He picked up on it.

Some of your friends gathered around you and you leaned close to one of them. "That's Nikki Sixx and his wife over there!" You announced excitedly, trying to keep your voice down, so they wouldn't hear you. Your friends were into more modern pop music, so they had no idea who the fuck Nikki Sixx was, but they smiled at your excitement. And before you knew it, there was a "hello". Your face blushed and you palms felt suddenly sweaty, when you realized you were glancing upon Nikki fucking Sixx himself, his wife giggling a few steps behind him. He offered a hug, and you took it; Wrapping your arms around him, feeling his black hair and warm neck. "You're gonna fall", he pointed out, and at that second it hit you; He was holding you off the ground, when your short legs weren't enough to hug such a tall man. You blushed even more and felt like you were sweating bucketfuls. "I'm sorry", you apologized, embarrassed beyond reason. He grinned and told you it was alright. "She has a pen!" you changed the subject, when noticing one of your friends holding out a pen and a piece of paper. Obviously you were talking about an autograph, but your mind was completely scrambled. Like a teenager with a huge crush.

The next day you were at your window again. He was strolling down the street in custom made Chuck Taylors, a war paint on his face and his hair in a wild mess. You were watching him and thinking, that his radiant happiness could have outshone the sun itself. You tried to stay out of sight, not wanting to bother him and disturb his life. After all, even celebrities deserved completely normal neighbours. Even so, you watched him walk into his house with a smile on his face, and soon come out with his golden retrievers on leashes. His wife was there again, smiling brightly and kissing her husband's cheek. You weren't sure, if you just envied their seemingly glorious life, or if you were jealous of him. Your thoughts were interrupted, when he looked up. You ducked as quick as you could and prayed, that he hadn't seen or at least recognized you.
