Why Did I Trust You?
Tumblr media
Masterlist of fan fiction
Fandom: Robin Hood
Pairings: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Sadness, angst, betrayal (sort of!), depression mention, fluff
Comments/Notes: Requested by @puggledy-huggledy-is-not-a-pig who is the biggest Guy fan that I know. From the prompt "They told me not to trust you but I didn't listen."
I hope you like the fic. As always, like, reblog and comment if you enjoy. If you wish to be added to any of my tag lists, let me know.
Everyone kept telling you how Guy had always been taken with Marian, and that his heart still belonged to her. No one could get over lost love that easy. She had disappeared into Sherwood Forest with her lover, Robin Hood. Leaving Guy to pick up the pieces of a shattered heart. You had never met this Marian woman, but had heard plenty about her from the locals.
You had travelled to Nottingham in high hopes of better income, and thankfully, you had been given a roof over your head, alongside the work, for all for your trouble. Guy had sorted that out for you. After all, he knew your father, who worked as a fellow tax collector in the next town over and often visited Nottingham to report to the Sheriff.
Being a newcomer also meant that everyone was suspicious of you. And you had become aware of the rumours that people were spinning behind your back, despite being polite to your face. Snakes, all of them. Most days when you walked through the courtyard of the castle, heading in for your day of work, you’d see people gently shoulder each other. You’d see this action out of the corner of your eye, but as soon as they saw you’d noticed them, they would smile. Vipers!
By the time you had been there six months, you knew it was time to move on. Nottingham was not quite the charming place that you had been told by your old townsfolk. Maybe the stories had been spun from those assuming that due to Nottingham being a central stronghold for finances, that the streets were paved with gold. That couldn’t have been any further from the truth. Only the Sheriff’s personal chambers were lined with gold; everywhere else was run down and full of squalor.
The last arrangements were in place, and the following day, you were ready to return home. It would take you about a day to walk to your meeting point with your father, who was coming by horse and cart to collect you. Messenger pigeons had been flying between you and your father for the last month, as your depression had gotten deeper and beckoned you home.
The only good thing about the place was Guy. In fact, he was the only friend you had in this horrible place. The thought of leaving him was hitting you hard, and as you cleaned the larger chambers of the castle, you kept Guy’s until last.
Upon stepping inside the room, you saw the seat that you sat in most evenings, where you would share dinner with him. You would watch the candlelight dance across his pointed features, highlighting the sadness in his ice blue eyes. Was the sadness remnants of an unrequited love?
Tears kept threatening to fall down your cheeks as you cleaned the surfaces with a rag. At his bedside table, you moved the vase of flowers you had placed there three days ago, sweeping the dust beneath it. All you could feel was the painful, burning sensation of something lodged in your throat.
Don’t you cry. Don’t you dare cry!
As you made the bed and took one last sniff of his pillow, you realised that you had nothing of his. And you couldn’t leave Nottingham without at least one token from him, even if he had not given it you freely.
There was a jewellery box which you knew Guy kept in his wardrobe, just behind his boots, on the floor. You could remember him telling you about it, where he explained that no one else knew of its existence, but you.
Your hands were shaking as you approached the wardrobe, and slowly you opened the door, listening to it creak. The box was simple, with no inscription at all. It didn’t matter what it was that you took, as long as it was Guy’s; something to remember him by. Not that you could ever forget him in a hurry.
Blood was thumping in your ears as you opened the box and looked upon two gold rings inside. That was all the box held, these two gold rings. The first one was a simple band, with no jewels or inscriptions. The other was gold, but had a simple green stone upon broad shoulders. You snatched the ring with the green stone and slipped it into your apron pocket.
“What are you doing?” a deep voice came.
You gasped, stepping back at the sight of Guy. When had he come into the room? “P…please, it’s not what it looks like.”
“Oh, I know it was exactly what it looked like. You stealing one of my grandmother’s rings.” His eyes were so wide now, and you couldn’t help but swallow hard, feeling a rod of ice shoot down your spine. Guy was terrifying when angry, a trait that many a person had seen who lived in Nottingham. This was your first time of seeing his anger directed at you.
“I’m sorry,” you whimpered. You pulled the ring back out of your pocket and placed it down on the table next to you. “It really is not what it looks like.”
Guy turned on his heel. “They told me not to trust you, but I didn’t listen.”
“Guy, please,” you pleaded, touching his shoulder.
“Don’t touch me!” he growled. “I let you in. I offer my vulnerability to you, and I offer you so much, and this is how you value our relationship? By stealing from me?”
Tears fell down your cheeks. Your heart thundered, shattering even more with each beat. “I wanted something of yours, to remember you by.”
“Remember me by? What do you mean?” Guy asked, his voice less hostile now. Slowly, he turned back to face you.
Tears had begun to form in his eyes. His gaze was intense, and locked on you.
“I would never have betrayed your trust, Guy. Believe me. I value you more than you realise.”
“Yet you still plan to leave?”
Of course he knew what you had meant. “You have no idea how it’s pained me to complete my duties today, knowing it will be the last time we stand face to face.”
“Am I not enough to stay for?” The words only just came out of his mouth, broken by the breath that was struggling to get out. “I’m never enough.” Those words were despaired whisper.
“Guy, no!” you exclaimed. “Never think that.”
“But you’re leaving!” His voice had re-gained its power, and he stared at you. “I’ve been beside you in everything since you came here. Why am I not enough?”
You reached out and took Guy’s leather-clad hand. “You are enough. Why don’t you think you are? Is it because of Marian?”
Guy closed his eyes for a second and sighed. Then he focused his gaze back on you. “I see the townsfolk enjoy talking about me.”
“Don’t blame them. You’ve mentioned her before, and I guessed she’s the woman you love.”
“She isn’t. Not anymore. I did love her once and she left. Every woman I grow to love leaves me.”
Did that mean…? Breath caught in your throat, but you tried not to get above yourself in your want of him. “So other women before her have left?”
Guy smirked. “Don’t deny what’s right in front of you.” He whispered your name and came closer, his body so close to yours. He looked down from his taller height.
You placed both of your hands on his chest, wanting so much to feel his bare skin beneath the leather. Your gaze met his and you leaned up, placing a gentle kiss against his lips.
Guy opened his eyes, seeing uncertainty in your face. And gathering his confidence and love, he wound his arms around your waist and kissed you.
The kiss was full of love, passion and desperation. Your tongues met, and within a few more seconds, Guy’s lips were on your neck. He was panting, and you whimpering.
As you both slowed down, your breaths harsh, you embraced Guy.
“Is this now enough to make you stay?” he asked.
You looked up from his chest, and smiled. “What do you think?”
“And maybe I have more reason.” Guy reached across to the ring you had placed on his table and held it to you. “I want you to have this…and be my wife.”

Too Much to Handle
Pairing/s: Richard Armitage x fem!reader
Warning(s)/Genre(s): Fluff, (can RA’s sexiness be considered a warning?)
Word Count: 807
Context © me
Based on @deepestfirefun‘s prompt “That look should be illegal in this time of the day.” Which is also included in the request.
A/N: First Richard Armitage drabble/one-shot, so please bare with the crappiness if there’s one. And sorry for making the reader (you) look like the girlfriend kinda obsessed in how good looking Richard is (but who wouldn’t be obsessed?!)
Now that I’m finished, @deepestfirefun you can now fire me with your Thorin request!
Masterlist: HERE
Tumblr media
Mornings are clearly not your cup of tea, or coffee, since who knows when, especially if it’s too early in the morning.
And as much as you wanted to stay in bed all day long, you unfortunately have many things to do for the day. Like, start getting ready because your ever so loving and ever so sinfully sexy boyfriend planned to spend the rest of the day for your anniversary today.
You are a stunt coordinator, choreographer, and photographer, therefore you’ve been invited to be part of different crews of many movies, TV series, and even stage productions. That’s how you’ve met the Richard Armitage during his Robin Hood days where he portrayed Sir Guy of Gisborne.
Whether you, and your colleagues from all those movies and shows you’ve been in, consider it a coincidence or fate, both you and Richard had been inseparable ever since. Because of that both of you started to become close friends. Both of you are comfortable in showing who you really are as a person, both of you sharing your ups and downs on and off the set, both of you even sharing secrets that no one else has known. And the funny part, is that somehow both of your have secretly fallen in love with each other without the other knowing.
Until one day Richard couldn’t take it any longer and finally asked you to be his girlfriend.
Though it’s been years since you and Richard called it official, he still never seize to amaze you on how good looking he is, no matter how hard it is for you to keep it to yourself. Does he even age physically? You wouldn’t think so because he doesn’t look like he does. Does he have any beauty secrets? Of course not, not with the many days and nights that you’ve spent with him in your shared apartment in London.
Even in your current sleep-like state as you force yourself to get out of bed - and noticing the other side of the bed is empty - you still keep wondering how your boyfriend is wonderfully beautiful.
Scratch that and forget everything, especially the ‘wonderfully’ part.
Though still half asleep, you can see your impossibly good looking boyfriend making his morning coffee. Though his hair is ruffled all over the place, an evidence that he’d just woken up, and wearing sleeveless black shirt and sweatpants as his pajamas, looking absolutely stunning and way too sexy way too early in the morning.
“This is too much for me to handle.” You quietly muttered to yourself as you decided to sleepily turn your heels back to the bedroom to try and get more sleep. “That look seriously should be illegal in this time of the day.”
-----
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Like what?”
Richard’s being weird. And he’s been looking at you weirdly since you entered the dining area to have breakfast. Do you still have any remnants of sleep on your face? You wouldn’t think so.
“There’s nothing on your face love.”
You said it out loud, shoot. And he’s smirk widens, damn it.
“Yes love, you said it loud and clear.” Richard chuckles. Now you just wanted to bump your head on the table. “I just remembered something that transpired earlier this morning.”
“What transpired?” Now you are confused. The only thing you clearly remember is getting out of bed and immediately coming back.
“You don’t remember?” You shake your head no. Now Richard is sporting that shit-eating grin of his that only signifies trouble.
“How about something with the phrase ‘that look should be illegal’?”
Now your eyes are bulging wide. And that mischevious look Richard’s giving you only means one thing: never ending teasing.
You now face-planted on the table. “I thought I only said it in my head.” You groan as you look back at your boyfriend from across the table.
“But it’s a good thing you were half asleep. And I now know I can elicit such reactions from you.” He said with a wink.
“Don’t you wink at me Mr. Armitage.” You glare at him, though not totally feeling that pissed off about him.
“Aw come on love, you know I’m only kidding.” Richard cooed as he reaches out and hold your hands in his large ones. “At least I don’t have to worry about you thinking that I look hideous in the mornings.”
You give him a smile, one of the many that never fails to mesmerize him. “You don’t look hideous at all, love.”
“I’m honestly not really sure about that one.” Richard weaves both your fingers together as he pulls your hand towards him and gives it a kiss. “But as long as I can look that illegal to you I have no qualms about it.”
“Oh shut it, you!”

Invisible
Tumblr media
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC)
Pairings: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Pining, angst, insecurity, vague smut mention, attempted ghosting
Word count: 1880
Summary: From the imagine, "You are in love with Guy and he is still pining for Marian. You cannot carry all the pain."
Comments/notes: Takes place around season 2, despite the above GIF being from season 3. This fic was requested by @sazzlep
As always, if you enjoy, please consider a reblog. If you wish to be added to my tag list for any character, fandom, or fic series, let me know.
Marian had disappeared, leaving you with the shattered pieces of Guy’s broken heart. While trying to mend your own heart, you were busy tending to Guy’s. And that pain was becoming unbearable. Shifting the weight of two broken hearts was crippling you.
Guy had left your home again at nightfall, having borne his heart to you. The woman he loved and had lived in high hopes of wooing, had run off into the forest with her outlaw lover. In the time you had known Marian, you had been on fairly friendly terms with her. But you had always been aware of her manipulative tactics, taking advantage of Guy’s feelings for her. For all those months and he had been completely blind to it, only seeing her sweet smiles as a hope for something more than just friendship.
You stood at your front door and watched his dark shape, atop a black horse, disappear into the gathering dusk. You and Guy had been close friends for years, being each other’s rock, and this has been the case since he came to Nottingham as a young man. He had been swept up into duty for the Sheriff, but the two of you had still remained close. Guy had been the one who comforted you when your mother died, and had even brought you food when you fell upon tough times. Potential suitors had come to your door, and if they had not been to your liking, it was Guy who had told them to leave.
How long could you continue this for? Every day you saw him and you felt more of your heart become warped from the inside, like a disease spreading outward. The only cure would be to take yourself out of the situation completely and sever yourself from him.
The moon was high in the sky and you remained in that spot for some time, feeling the red hot tears fall down your cheeks. All of your pain was invisible to him; in his own anguish, he had completely overlooked you.
***
Guy woke the next morning, light bursting through the window.
Realisation hit him hard that he had overslept.
He shot out of bed and began dressing quickly, only to see a piece of parchment on the stone floor at the foot of his door. Guy reached down and took the parchment, noting that there was no envelope. The parchment had just been folded. Upon opening it, he instantly recognised your beautiful handwriting. It brought a smile to his face.
Guy,
While I know that you are in the midst of deep pain, I must leave Nottingham. I plan to move back to my father’s home and search for work. I cannot carry the weight of both our broken hearts on my shoulders.
May God watch over you and keep you safe.
Leaving? But why?
Guy raced from his chambers, heading down towards the courtyard where he slipped out to the stables and collected his horse.
Once he had rode to your home, he jumped from the horse and banged on your door. No answer. Your own horse, a brown and white mare, had disappeared from the small field behind your house.
Your father’s home was a two-day ride, and within seconds, Guy’s horse was galloping through the small patch of woodland which was to the north, leading out onto the main road. Surely you could not have gotten far. Guy was a far more experienced rider than you so would easily be able to catch up to you, despite your head start.
***
The ride that morning had been pleasant. The sun was shining amidst a cloudless sky. A gentle breeze took the edge off the early summer heat. A simple breakfast was still sitting in your stomach quite nicely; bacon, eggs and freshly baked bread. There was an inn about half way, at the perfect place for you to stop, before continuing on the next day for the second part of your journey.
All morning and you had imagined Guy’s face upon opening your letter. Would he even care at all? It seemed that he didn’t. Normally Guy was up around dawn, ready for his duties. He should have caught you just before you left, but you had not seen him. And you had given your letter to Abe, one of the guards, at the castle gate, two hours after sunset. Surely Guy would have received it by daybreak.
You stopped for a quick break, taking a sip of water from a skin in your leather satchel. You sat down on a fallen tree trunk and took a deep breath, looking up at the rays of sunlight piercing through the bright green leaves.
Suddenly you heard galloping hooves coming from behind. A figure emerged from the edge of the curving path, and got larger, moving towards you quickly.
“Guy?” you whispered, feeling relief wash over you, but also fear.
Guy stopped his horse a few feet from yours and jumped from the saddle, storming over to you. He stood in front of you, his arms crossed. “What is going on?” he asked, his voice tinged with frustration. His silver blue eyes were wide in irritation.
“I told you in my letter. I can’t carry both of us anymore.”
Guy sighed and sat down beside you. “Maybe you could start with telling me what you’re carrying and stop being so stubborn in carrying it yourself.”
You looked at him, narrowing your eyes. “Are you sure you really wish to know? Because after I tell you, you won’t want to know me anymore.”
Guy scoffed and rolled his eyes in annoyance.
You looked at him, seeing that all too familiar smirk begin to form on his face. It made your heart flutter.
“If you really believe that then you know me less than I thought you did. In fact, you don’t know me at all.” His tone was accusing and full of irritation.
You could see the offense written on Guy’s face, and you reached out to take his hand. “I didn’t mean it like that, Guy.”
“Then how did you mean it?” he snapped. “You’re all I have in my life, yet you seem to think that I’ll walk away from you. Despite you being the one who was ready to walk away from me…” The words trailed off into a whisper and loud sigh.
“Do you want to know the real reason I’m leaving?” you asked. “And if you do choose to turn your back on me then that is your choice.”
Guy hissed. “I will never turn my back on you.” He pointed his finger at you in anger as he spoke.
You got to your feet and took a deep breath. “All these years we’ve known each other and I’ve been invisible to you. You’ve never noticed all the times I’ve had to smile at you but wanted to weep. You’ve never seen how I feel about you. Instead all you’ve ever seen is a woman who has taken advantage of you and used your feelings for her to get what she needed. It’s crippled me.” Tears fell down your cheeks. “I love you, Guy. I love you so much and never once did you ever see it. I know you don’t feel the same way and I’m not expecting you to.”
Guy got up from the tree trunk, and without a word, curled his hand around your cheek and kissed you. The kiss immediately became wanting, needing and hot.
Reluctantly you shifted your head away and looked up at him, your tears blurring your vision. “I told you that I’m not expecting anything from you...”
He smiled. “I’ve loved you from since the first moment we met. I was always invisible to you. I valued and respected you far too much to ever overstep any boundary. I was terrified you would think I was dishonouring you. Marian became my way of letting you go, but under it all, I never could. She was the hope of something I could never have with you.”
“All I ever wanted was for you to be happy, and because of me, you tried to gain love in a place where you would never find it.”
“It wasn’t because of you. It was my own cowardice. I would look at her and see you, in everything she did. Then with each man who attempted to court you, I could see how impossible it was for me to ever think you’d be mine. A lot of those men were honourable and so much more than what I could ever wish to be.”
“I know you, Guy, and all you’ve ever wanted is to be loved and needed by someone. I’m offering that to you if you’ll take it.”
Guy kissed you again, and then let his lips trail down your neck. “And I will give that back to you tenfold, my love.”
***
The two of you rode your horses back to your home, watching as thick clouds began to swarm in, threatening rain.
By the time your house was visible, spots of rain began to fall.
You pulled on the reins of your horse, bringing it to a stop in the pen behind your house. Guy had already dismounted his horse, his hand reaching out to take yours. You couldn’t help but smile and giggle as he helped you down, his ice blue gaze never unlocking from you.
The two of you kissed again, the rain starting to pour all around you. The horses by now had wondered away into the small wooden shelter which was situated at the back of the paddock.
“Let’s get inside,” you told Guy.
He smiled in response and wound his arm around your waist as the two of you walked to the door of your home.
Once inside, you started a fire and put a large pot of water to boil. “I need to head into the market for food shortly. I hope the rain stops,” you told Guy, glancing out of the window. “Is there anything in particular you would like for dinner? I can cook us a meal.”
Guy never answered, but instead kissed you again.
A short time later and the two of you were idly tangled together in your bed, having just made love. You noticed that Guy seemed the most content he had done for quite some time; he had a faint smile on his face as you rested in the crook of his arm. The only sound was the tapping of rain on the roof, and it soothed you. The heavy weight in your heart had now lifted.
“Was that how you imagined our first time to be?” you asked.
Guy grinned and kissed you again. “It was so much better than any of my expectations.” He gripped your hand tight in his and then kissed your head.
“I suspect the Sheriff will be looking for you.”
“He can wait.”
You looked across at Guy as you began to slip from the bedclothes and pull your dress back on. “You’re taking a big risk thinking that. You know what he’s like.”
“I don’t care anymore. I’ve got you, and that’s all that matters to me now.”

Eavesdropping (Drabble)
Tumblr media
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC)
Pairings: None romantically at this point.
Summary: You overhear Guy talking to someone about 'the woman he loves'. Surely it's Marian?
Warnings: Insecurity, angst.
Word count: 295
Comments/notes: This drabble is for @asgardianhobbit98's Four For Valentine event; week 3 with ‘eavesdropping’ prompt. Please consider reblogging if you enjoy.
Tumblr media
“Forget it. I’ll go and do it myself,” Guy’s frustrated voice came from inside his bed chamber. “I ask you to help me in gathering flowers for the woman I love and this is what I get.”
You stepped back, feeling your heart thunder in your chest and a deep ache begin to swell. The woman he loved? That could only be one woman. Marian. It just had to be. Rumour was she had gone on the run with Robin Hood after disappearing just a few months ago. It was public knowledge that Guy had always loved her and tried his best to serenade her, with it often at his detriment.
Guy’s room could wait now to be cleaned and freshened up. In your current state there was no way you could approach him. Being in his company made you feel so inadequate because you lived in the reminder of the woman you would never be. Marian was all he wanted. Sometimes you questioned why you even loved Guy. He had always been known throughout Nottingham as cruel, calculating and callous. But there was something inside him you had always sensed. And he had even shown you kindness on many occasions, offering you food, and even clothing when you came to your duties, shuddering in the cold weather.
Guy of Gisborne wasn’t all that he seemed to be.
Just as you reached the end of the corridor, which then led off to the left, you heard a door close. The sound echoed down the stone hallway. You turned back, on instinct, and caught sight of him. He was looking down the hallway at you, and you were sure he was smiling. However, you took a deep breath and carried on down the steps leading away.

Anything Is Possible (7)

Masterlist of fan fiction
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, brief smut, violence, mild sexual assault references, graphic depictions of being burned alive, character death.
Summary: From the imagine, “Imagine you and Guy are in love but you are to be married to someone else. It feels like everything is keeping you apart."
Comments: If you would like to be added to or removed from my tag list, please let me know. Lord Edmund is based off Arnold Vosloo (from The Mummy)
This is the final part! :) Enjoy.
It felt as if the whole room went quiet around you; your intense fear and dread blocked everything out. Everything was running in slow motion and ice raced down your spine. This was it! Life as you knew it was over. Your whole existence would be under Lord Edmund's control. Nothing would be simple anymore, and of course you'd be pulled away from Guy and your family. There was no way that Edmund would be considerate enough to let you visit your family.
The priest cleared his throat and you looked up at Edmund. The man made you nauseous and your blood ran cold at the very sight of him. The thought of him touching you made your skin crawl.
In the second row, Guy stared at what was happening before him. He felt powerless, unable to move. Mary had slipped into the pew behind your mother, he noticed. What had gone wrong?
The priest began to speak but your whole body shaking made it impossible for you to even hear any of the words. Both your names were spoken, and then Edmund presented a ring. It was as if you were in water, drifting in your own mind, only able to see the world from the outside but not control anything.
"Do you take this man to be your husband?" the priest asked.
You didn't answer.
He asked again. And this time Edmund's eyes grew black in anger and his lips scrunched together in frustration.
Guy knew he had to do something, but just as he was about to move, the adrenaline starting to pour through him, someone raced out from the front pew towards Edmund. A shout hit the air and Edmund gasped loudly, falling to the floor with a dull thump. Guy shoved through the small, gathering crowd to get to the front, only to see your father stabbing Edmund multiple times, forcing the blade in the dead man's body over and over. Your father called out like an animal, howling into the air.
Guards grabbed your father and dragged him off Edmund's bloody body, pulling his hands behind his back.
Your mother raced to you, holding you tight. Your body was still shaking inside her grip, and you began to sob uncontrollably against her. A floodgate opened, and all the emotions poured outward. You held your mother so tight, terrified of losing her.
Around the room and a small commotion had broken out. Three women had passed out and a group of men were hovering over Edmund's body, trying to conceal it from the view of the wedding guests. Two lords from neighbouring towns had raced to the side of the room and vomited.
By now and Guy was able to move. His fight or flight response had enabled him to run to you.
Your mother let you go, letting hold you. He kissed your head, telling you everything would be alright.
The Sheriff was still stood in the same position, gobsmacked and speechless at the whole affair that had unfolded. His eyes fell upon the guards who were holding your father, who hadn't put up much of a fight. He was well aware of his fate now. "Take him to the dungeon," Vaisey said finally.
***
Back at your home, and you sat in the kitchen area with your mother and Guy. Images of Edmund's face as your father's knife plunged into his back would not leave you. You could still hear Edmund's gasps as the breath left him. You could see the blood seeping across the stone floor.
Guy held your hand across the table, noticing that your eyes had not moved from the floor. "My love?" he whispered.
You looked up, tears welling in your eyes. Gradually the tears dripped down your cheeks. "What happened?" you asked stupidly. "I just...."
Your mother sighed and sat down opposite you. "Your father did what he needed to do," she said, giving you a smile. "He's not the coward I once thought he was."
"And now he faces the noose because of me," you said quietly.
Guy smirked at you and tilted his head to the side. "You forget the influence that I have in the castle. We know that a couple of the guards are on our side; we can easily make it look like an escape."
"But father won't be able to come back home. You'd have to leave Nottingham." You looked towards your mother, startled. Then you grabbed her hand and kissed it. "Please..."
"You have Guy now to look after you. And once your father and I have found somewhere to call home, we will send word to you and your sisters. Do not fear." Her dark eyes held so much love for you in those moments. "You'll always be my angel."
***
Six weeks later and you had taken over your parents' old home. Your mother had 'disappeared' suddenly and your father had apparently 'escaped' from the jail on the night of his imprisonment. Neither of them had been heard from or seen since.
You woke early one morning, your husband sleeping beside you. Your eyes scanned the room and then fell upon the window. You smiled, thinking on all those times that your now-husband's face had appeared there. Considering that Guy had always been known by the townsfolk as The Man In Black, he was the light in your life. He was your source of strength and peace.
Slipping from the bed, you walked out of your room, being careful not to wake Guy and began to start a fire for the kettle to boil. The sun was rising now, with golden light pouring through the window.
Something light-coloured caught your eye and you looked down to see an envelope pushed under your door. You leaned down and picked it up, seeing the names Sir and Lady Gisborne written on the front in beautiful, black writing. There was only one person who had written this letter. The woman whose handwriting you had always admired. The woman who had bore you, raised you, and helped save you.
A shuffling came from behind you and then you felt arms lock around your waist, drawing you back. "Good morning, my wife," he whispered sleepily, smiling as he smelt your hair. He said those words every morning, still feeling pangs of excitement as they slipped off his tongue.
"A letter for Sir and Lady Gisborne," you giggled. "Just a shame that they aren't aware of the little one, but they will be soon."
Guy's hand caressed your stomach and he sighed against you.
The nausea had begun two days after your intended and interrupted wedding to Lord Edmund. And now you had stopped your monthly bleeding, which could only mean one thing.
If there was thing you had learned, it was that even in your darkest moments, anything is possible.

“I love you,” Guy told you as you lay on your side, propped on your arm, looking down at him. “I’ll make a way for us to be together, I promise.” He reached forward and cupped your cheek with his hand. “I will make you my wife one day.”
You looked down at the mattress of the bed and pulled away from him. Tears came forth and a ball of tight breath caught in your chest, causing pain. “It won’t happen, Guy. We both know that.”
“Your father doesn’t hold that much sway over you!” Guy snapped.
“No, but my husband-to-be does. He’s already threatened my father that he’d hurt mother if I try to run or if he pulls out of the deal. I can’t risk my mother.”
You got up from the bed and began to re-dress. As you did, your hand ghosted your stomach and you thought of the children that would never have Guy as their father. Even if Guy sired any of your children, they would never carry the Gisborne name and know the truth of their lineage.
It was dark outside and you knew that if you stayed any longer, then your father would ask questions. He was already suspicious of your relationship with Guy and had made his distain towards the very idea of it extremely clear. Your marriage would go ahead, whether you liked it or not. You would marry Sir Edmund, a wealthy and powerful man who had held sway over your father for many years and was also an advisor to the Sheriff.
Guy stood behind you, silent and still. Everything he wanted was standing here, in the form of you. A wife, the mother of his children, a lover, a friend. If only he could take your hand, be legally bound to you in the eyes of the law of Nottingham, then he could give you the world. He placed his hands on your shoulders and leaned in, kissing the side of your head. “You’re all I want,” he whispered, his baritone voice cracking in the pain that was so raw in his chest. “Why will God not grant us this one wish?”
“The world, and everything in it, is cruel,” you wept. Then you turned slowly to face the man you loved so dearly.
Guy dipped his head towards you, being taller, and pressed his brow to yours. His hand curled around your cheek. “I will make this right. I will make this right,” he growled between gritted teeth.
“You can’t make it right, my love,” you said. “Nothing will ever be right. And I must go.”
“Tomorrow?” Guy asked, hope in his tone and in his silver blue eyes.
Realisation slammed into your gut and you closed your eyes for a second, then focused on Guy. “We need to stop this. We can’t be together, and by us keep meeting, it won’t make things any easier; it’ll make them worse.”
Guy stepped up to you. “Don’t you think things are already bad enough?” he hissed. “Spending what time I can with you gives me something to live for. When we’re apart, I’m a ghost. Fight with me.”
“I can’t…”
He grabbed your hands and pulled them to his lips. “Of anyone I know who can stand firm to their wants and dreams, it’s you. Stand with me, and if anyone takes us down, they take us down together.”
“But my mother…”
“I’ll make sure she’s safe. We do this together.”
Your dam broke open completely and you rushed towards him, sealing the deal with a hard kiss. The two of you sank into each other and within a minute, Guy was over you and inside you again. Both of you clung to each other and rode your passion to high waves, until you both hit that crescendo. You shook beneath Guy and cried out, unable to hold back your vocalisation of such pleasure. The flickers of electricity still racked through you and down your legs as Guy came, spilling into you, and then fell down on the bed beside you.
You looked across at Guy and took his hand, holding it tight. “We do this together,” you said.
***
Guy escorted you back to your home, but remained at the end of the row, a hood over his head. The two of you kissed beneath the stars. “I will see this made right and Edmund gone. No one will make you their bride but me,” he told you.
“Is that an official proposal?” you asked, giggling.
“And what is your official answer?” Guy replied with a smirk.
“Always. I’m yours, Gisborne. I thought you already knew that.”
The two of you kissed again, and then reluctantly parted.
Guy remained in the shadow, hooded and cloaked, watching as you disappeared into the warmth of your home. Thoughts began to swirl around his head, plots and schemes. It would be any way to make sure that he could take you as his. The love he felt for you was relentless in its pursuit to be bound to you in all ways. Anything was possible to make it happen. Nothing would be too much. You were worth the risk. You were worth the fight and worth the blood of a hundred men.

After your midnight rendezvous with Guy in the barn, you were anxious. You were half expecting something to happen; maybe be dragged away and put into the stocks for defying orders. Edmund hadn't been to see you at all since your altercation with him, but as far as you knew, all wedding arrangements were still underway.
It was now two days until your wedding....
Your mother arranged through her friend's husband, the guard who had helped you meet with Guy safely, to meet with Gisborne. Plans and schemes were forming in her mind, and Mary, the seamstress, had even insisted that she would help out any way possible.
On the edge of a nearby wood, your mother met with Guy.
"Thank you for letting me see her," he said immediately.
Your mother smiled and nodded her head at Guy. "I've promised myself that I won't let her marry Edmund. Seeing you two in the barn was the thing that made me adamant that I'm going to see this through. She's my child, my youngest, and it's my duty to make sure she's happy. Like all of us around her."
Guy sighed. "She knows that we would both gladly put our lives on the line for her."
"I was compliant with all of this, Gisborne. My husband made this arrangement with Edmund to make sure we were looked after. The money kept flowing to keep us comfortable. And now I detest myself for everything I've put on her shoulders. My friend Mary is trying her hardest to get hold of a poison. If we put it in his drink on the morning of the wedding..."
"But finding him dead before the wedding? Wouldn't that look suspicious?" Guy asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Not if the poison takes around an hour to work. Mary will be on hand for fittings on the morning, so she can easily get into Edmund's chamber to deliver the poison to his drink."
"If he drops down dead at his own wedding, surely someone will be suspicious of foul play."
"Then I will take responsibility for it," your mother said boldly. "She deserves a happy life. Of all my children, she's the one who has the kindness and compassion I wish the others did. All the others were able to make their own choices, and she hasn't had that. Promise me that you'll take care of her."
"That goes without saying. You know I will. "
Your mother stepped up to Guy and smiled at him. "There was a time like many other people in this town that I didn't like you. But now I see a good side of you, and I can see why she loves you."
Guy gave a lop sided smile as he thought of you. "I wonder why she gives her heart to me as freely as she does. But if there's one thing I know it's that my heart belongs to her in return. I will be honoured to take your daughter's hand in marriage."
*
The night before your wedding to Edmund and you lay awake. Every muscle was tight and rigid. All of the preparations had been going on around you; very little had been done by you, apart from attend regular meetings for dress fittings.
Your mother knocked on your door, holding a mug of fresh camomile tea.
With a smile, you beckoned her in.
There was a twinkle in your mother's eye as she sat down on the bed beside you and offered you the mug as you sat upright. "I have news," she said. "Good news."
"Edmund is dead?"
"Not yet, but he will be. Mary will be conducting his fitting tomorrow, and she has got her hands on a poison which will be in Edmund's system for around half hour to an hour before it takes effect. It'll mean going along with the morning as planned as to not rouse suspicion. You may need to meet him at the alter."
"I understand, Mother. Will Guy be there?"
Your mother couldn't help but smile. The sheer devotion that you two felt toward each other. "Of course he will."
You looked down and sighed. "I don't want him to have to see that. I know the wedding won't be going ahead, but I don't want him to see me in a gown intended for me to be wed to another man."
Your mother took your hand tightly. "Don't you think he understands what's happening? He intends to be there to make sure you are safe, as will I, and Mary, and her husband. We will all be there."
"What if something goes wrong?"
"Nothing will go wrong," a deep voice came. It was an all too familiar voice and it immediately made you grin.
"Guy," you whispered. "You've got to be careful coming out like this."
"Mary's husband is guarding. It was his duty tonight."
You crawled on your bed to the window and smiled at Guy. You drew your hand up his cheek, drowning in his steel blue gaze.
"I shall leave you have your privacy," your mother said, and left the room with a big smile.
Guy jumped in the window and shifted to the bed, leaning over you as the two of your kissed again.
"Will we ever see the day when we can do this as husband and wife?" you asked, stopping and pulling from the kiss.
"We will. I promise," Guy whispered, his lips trailing kisses from your ear, down your jaw and to your lips. Then he trailed from your lips down your neck and throat. He groaned against you, and whispered your name in need and want.
As the two of you climaxed a short while later, and fell down beside each other, you rested your head on Guy's bare chest. "I'll always be yours, Guy. Even if things go wrong tomorrow, I'll never be his."
"Shhh," he cooed. "Have faith that everything will go right."
"I don't want you to have to see me in that dress. It's not my wedding dress for you. I wish you weren't coming."
Guy moved and sat up, your bedsheet pooling in his lap. "Why would I not be there? How can I not be there?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows in disbelief at your comment.
"I'm scared something will go wrong," you exclaimed. "The only wedding gown you should ever see me wearing is the one intended for you to remove on our wedding night."

It was just before daybreak and Guy lay in his bed, staring at the window. Those prayers hadn't been answered, and he highly doubted now that they would be. Guy would need to take things into his own hands if indeed the proposed plan didn't play out as expected. The concerns that you had voiced the night before had been in Guy's mind all night. Luck had never been on his side in life, so it was something that he had to go and make himself. This would be the last time he ever placed his trust in someone else...
Dawn began to break; orange and gold split through the darkness and spread slowly over the land. All he could think of was you. He could only imagine what your mind must have been doing, and all those questions you were asking and worst case scenarios that you were putting to yourself.
If one thing was going to happen that day, it was that you would be free of Edmund. One way or the other. If the plan went awry, then Guy would make it right, even if it meant him laying down his life to make sure you were safe and happy. He would do it. After all, that was what love was: sacrificial.
*
One of the seamstresses came to your house that morning and helped you with your dress. She was only a young girl, barely of age. Her name was Julia. She was funny and kind, telling you about her previous day when she had accidentally pricked someone with a needle. Despite your fear, you laughed. If only you could have been Julia: carefree, spirited. That side of you had been crushed when your wedding had been announced. Julia reminded you of everything you were when you met Guy, the woman he fell in love with. Now you felt as if you were a mere shell of that former woman.
Julia buttoned your dress at the back and then stopped, her hand pressed gently on your upper arm. "It'll be alright today, Miss," she said softly. Could she feel you shaking?
You couldn't help but lower your head and feel the stinging of tears behind your eyes.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to upset you," Julia cried out, as she saw your expression after moving back to face you, and pulled a handkerchief from up her sleeve. She offered the flowered cloth to you with a child-like smile.
You dried the tears.
"Word is you were meant to marry Gisborne," Julia said.
You sighed, trying to stop another bout of tears. "Word does travel fast, and yes, I would have hoped that it would have been him I'd be marrying. But Lord Edmund holds sway over my father; he always has. I just don't know why he chose me. Not that I'd have wished this on my sisters."
"Lots of gossip goes on at the castle, Miss. I also heard..."
"You do hear lots of things," you chuckled.
"That I do," she replied innocently. "I heard that Edmund wanted to marry your mother, and that was why he always held that power over your father, and maybe it's because you look the most like your mother as well."
"What stupid things you all talk about!" your mother snapped, entering the room. "Haven't you got lighter subjects to discuss, and not others' private business?"
Julia grew crimson; her cheeks were almost as bright as her red hair. "I meant no offence, Madam."
"Off with you!" your mother shouted. "She's already upset enough."
Julia dashed out of the room, terrified of your mother's temper.
"Was what she said true?" you asked. "Did Edmund want you?"
Your mother's dark gaze met yours. "Yes..."
"What happened?"
"Your grandfather stopped Edmund from marrying me. He allowed me to choose who I wanted. We were only but seventeen at that time, and I was already pregnant with your eldest sister. But I never realised how much of a coward your father is. I hate him for all of this. Because Edmund couldn't have me, he was adamant he would have one of you. When he saw you as a child, he always said you looked like me and chose you. And I was scared of him. I was compliant in all of this. I'm so sorry."
Your mother broke down into sobs, her arms around you. You held her tight and kissed her head. "It's alright."
"I know you have every right to never forgive me for what I did..."
"No, I've never held it against you. I never could."
*
You walked with your mother and father towards the chapel, your veil covering your face. Behind you were your sisters, all following on, holding bouquets of flowers.
The day was cloudy, threatening rain. If today had of been a sunny day, then what a sadistic irony that would have been.
Bells chimed in the distance, welcoming townsfolk to come and celebrate. And as you walked, the closer you got to the chapel and the weaker you felt. Your heart was pounding so hard in your chest, your stomach was lurching and your body felt weak. Until you saw him, standing amongst a small crowd that had gathered outside the small chapel. The man you loved. Still dressed in black, as if mourning. From a distance and you could make out the quiver in his lips and throat, and the guilt rose in you. This was a sight you never, ever wanted him to see.
Guy took a deep breath, feeling everything within him crumble at the sight of you, garbed in a dress for another man. And behind your veil, he could imagine your expression. So much sadness.
The chapel filled quickly. Most of the guests you didn't know, with only your small family and Guy being those you recognised. And, of course, the Sheriff. He stood grinning, at the very front of the chapel, on the right hand side pews. For once, there was actually a man you hated more than Vaisey, and he would only seconds later appear.
Vaisey rubbed his hands together. "I do like a wedding," he exclaimed, and then laughed.
Edmund came towards you, his eyes dark and his lips curled upwards into a lecherous smirk. There was a dark bruise and healing cut on his temple, you noticed. Sign of your handiwork. However, not quite good enough.
Your heart thundered even louder, with pulsing in your ears and throat setting up pace.
Suddenly you noticed Mary come in through the doors and dash towards your mother. She looked scared, her eyes wide. Then you looked towards Guy who was a row behind Sheriff Vaisey. He too had clocked Mary's troubled expression.
Then it hit you: nothing was ever as easy as it seemed. Getting out of this marriage would be impossible now. Something had gone wrong.

Anything Is Possible (2)
Tumblr media
Part 1
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, brief smut
Summary: From the imagine, “Imagine you and Guy are in love but you are to be married to someone else. It feels like everything is keeping you apart."
Comments: If you would like to be added to or removed from my tag list, please let me know. Requested by @linasofia I actually had a face in mind for Lord Edmund; Arnold Vosloo from The Mummy, although maybe slightly older. I feel he has that face which could easily be villainous.
Guy paced his room. His mind was in knots, twisted by turmoil. The very thought of losing you to someone else caused one of the knots to rise in his stomach and chest. The pain and intensity of it brought him to his knees at the side of his bed. Tears shed down his cheeks. Someone finally loved him and freely pledged themselves to him, but fate was against him. Nothing in Guy's life ever worked in his favour.
It was after midnight when Guy passed through the gates of Nottingham Castle, and swept away into the shadow of night. Stars twinkled overhead in the heavens. He stopped for a second on the cobbled high street, and looked up. He remembered the first time you had made love. It was in the middle of summer. In a field, beneath an old oak tree. As you both rested together, basking in the afterglow of your passions, the first words you had said to him were, "The stars are watching us."
A tap broke through into your dreams, pulling you back into the waking world. Your heartbeat began to pick up pace, and then as you looked to your right hand side, out the window, you saw him. "Guy!" you exclaimed in a rough whisper, shooting to the window. You opened it and grinned at him.
Relief washed over his features, mixing with a content smile. He pulled his leather gauntlets off, dropping them on to your bed beneath the window inside. He cupped your cheeks, needing to feel your warm skin in his hands.
You closed your eyes and felt his lips on yours. They were slightly chilled, but grew hot as your kiss deepened.
In the dark of the room and amid silence, which was nearly broken in the throes of your passion, you made love again.
Guy rested over you and kept his hands locked in yours. The constant kisses you shared muffled any hint of noise that could have carried through the house. Your bodies were so synchronised, moving together in a magical rhythm.
"I love you," he whispered, once your climaxes had been reached.
When sunshine came, Guy was gone. You smiled to yourself and began to dress for duties. Your father had secured you a position as maid within the castle. You attended to the main wings and guest wings, and thus, met Guy.
A tap came to your door and your mother appeared. "Hurry! You are running late."
Suddenly you noticed your mother's eyebrows furrow in confusion, and her gaze dropped to something on your bed. You looked over at the bed and swallowed hard at the sight of Guy's leather gauntlets. They were unmistakable. Black leather with gold clasps running vertically down the back of the hand. Everyone recognised them.
"You're treading dangerous ground," your mother said simply. "Gisborne has no idea how much danger he's putting us in."
"I love him, Mother," you replied.
Your mother sighed and walked toward you. "I want nothing more than to see you loved and happy. But above that, I want you safe. Gisborne may bring you love and happiness, but not safety."
"How do I know that Edmund won't harm me once we're married? Once we're married then I'll be his to do with whatever he pleases. I'd rather him kill me; I'd still be free. It's you I worry about." You grabbed her hands and squeezed them. "Guy promised he'd keep you safe."
In the castle and you made the beds in the guest wing, also cleaning the furniture and brasses. Nausea rolled through you as you kept imagining the only viable outcome of this scenario: pain. Physical, emotional and mental. Edmund would torture you. Cruelty was all the man knew.
Guy stepped back into his quarters, seeing his gauntlets on the bedside table. He picked them up and smiled, immediately knowing who had put them there. Then his eyes were drawn to the opposite bedside table. Wild flowers, coloured yellow and red, stood proudly in a glass vase. He recognised them straight away as the flowers which grew in the field behind your house.
It was mid-afternoon when your father called you out of your duties, telling you to accompany him home immediately. He had been frustrated and demanding in his tone. There was fear in his eyes, you noticed.
Guy saw you and your father passing across the courtyard. He could plainly see your father holding your arm, pressing you to move quicker. The guard speaking with Guy continued on, requesting advice. "Sir Guy? What do you think?"
Guy turned on his heel, ready to leave, only to hear the guard calling again. "I don't care what you do!' Guy shouted back over his shoulder, and began to half run down the steps which led into the main entrance and exit of the castle.
By the time that Guy had made it to the cobbled lane where you lived, he could see a horse approaching from the southern road. That road came straight through and into the small residential area in which you lived. The horse came closer and within seconds, Guy could plainly see who it was. Lord Edmund.
Edmund dismounted his horse, unawares that Guy was watching from a distance. Easily the same height, if not slightly taller than Guy, bald, menacing dark eyes. Everyone knew Edmund.
"Make yourself presentable," your father ordered you. "Edmund wishes to have dinner with you. Quick!"
Tears of heart wrenching sadness and frustration stung your eyes. A thick lump was sitting painfully in your throat. Your hands shook as you picked out a dress.
You heard the door open and close down the hall.
"My Lord!" you heard your father say loudly.
A dark shape caught your eye and you saw Guy at your window. You raced to the window and opened it, kissing him hard. "Please take me away with you," you wept. "He intends to take me to dinner."
"Where will he take you?" Guy asked, brushing a stray piece of hair from your brow.
"I don't know. He has travelled far, so maybe the castle?"
Guy grit his teeth. Not only was Edmund ripping you away from Guy, but was also pissing on Gisborne's territory.
"If he's taking me to dinner then that must mean the wedding preparations are soon to be underway," you said, succumbing to sobs.
Your father's voice came from the other side of your door. "Are you almost ready? Edmund wishes to leave shortly. Do not hold him up."
Guy cupped your cheek, his eyes also filling with tears. "You'll be mine, I swear," he told you. "Hold on to that. I'll make sure you're watched tonight. He won't lay a finger on you."
The two of you kissed one last time before Guy disappeared and you internally prepared yourself for the evening ahead.

Anything Is Possible (3)
Tumblr media
Masterlist of fan fiction
Part 1 | Part 2
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, brief smut, violence, mild sexual assault references.
Guy made sure that evening that he was on hand near the main hall of the castle. This meant that he could keep an eye on you and be close by if things got out of hand between you and Lord Edmund, your husband-to-be. He was dressed in one of the guard's tunics and wore a helmet, disguising himself, and stood on the balcony which overlooked the hall. A guard was there at all times, so Guy had paid the normal guard, Abe, to disappear for the evening and treat himself to an ale and some pleasurable company down at the local tavern.
Finally the wooden doors opened and footsteps tapped on the stone floor, echoing around the huge room. Guy took a huge inhale and waited. His heart was racing, his jaw was clenched and his head was pounding in pain. The fear had completely overtaken him now.
You walked behind Edmund, remaining a few steps behind. The man was tall, broad and imposing. He was more muscular than Guy, considering that Guy was fairly well-toned.
You sat down next to Edmund, who was at the head of the table. He had pulled out your chair, beckoning for you to sit beside him. Foods of all varieties were lined up on the table; fruits, pastries, meat. Surely there would be plenty left over.
"The Sheriff was kind enough to let me occupy the hall tonight. Very nice of him, don't you think?" Edmund asked, his dark eyes feeling as if they were burrowing right down into your soul.
"Umm, yes," you said.
For a few seconds your eyes wandered around the room and fell upon the guard who was facing you high up on the balcony. The figure and posture of the guard looked familiar. Or were you imagining it? You saw that Edmund had still not looked up toward the balcony, but was more interested in your chest.
Suddenly you felt a hand on your thigh and jumped on impulse, shifting away. Edmund's face contorted into an expression of anger. His lips pursed together. "You are mine!" he hissed.
Tears began to well in your eyes as you stared at him in terror. Then your gaze flipped to the guard, who you noticed had stepped forward. His hand was now resting on the pommel of his sword. A gold clasp caught your eye. The guard had black leather gauntlets on, with gold clasps.
"Look at me!" Edmund demanded. "Guard! Leave!"
"I'm afraid I'm not allowed to leave my post under any circumstances, my Lord." You were certain now that you heard the voice that it was Guy. The voice was baritone and menacing, especially the way it said my Lord. The words dripped with venom. "I only answer to the Sheriff."
"Fine. Then we take this to my chamber," Edmund growled, and then smirked at you. "You had better be worth what I've paid for you."
Edmund shoved his chair back, the wooden legs screeching on the stone floor. He held out his hand for you to take. You took it reluctantly and got to your feet.
The two of you walked up the steps and onto the balcony. Edmund had your arm in his, making sure that you could not run.
You were on the side of the balcony nearest the wall which overlooked the hall, so as you drifted past Guy, you quickly grabbed his leather-clad hand and squeezed. Then as quickly as you had grabbed his hand, you let it go. Thankfully, Edmund never noticed.
Save me, Guy. Please, save me!
It felt like forever as you walked with Edmund up to his bed chamber. To think that you had been cleaning these rooms, readying the setting for Edmund to defile you. You knew that was what he was intending; you could see it in his eyes.
Edmund let you go in first, as if he was trying such feeble attempts to act like a gentleman. The whole room seemed to be closing in on you. Breath would not come to you and your whole body felt as if it were about give out. Your muscles felt weak and everything shook.
Your eyes darted around the room, falling upon two large metal goblets on the table. "Do you wish for a drink?" you asked, your voice only just keeping hold of some composure. You stepped towards the table, but felt an arm curl around your waist.
"The drink can wait. I wish to feast on other delights," Edmund chuckled.
You grabbed one of the metal goblets and quickly spun on your heel, hitting Edmund in the left temple. With a dull thump and a shout of pain, he fell to the floor.
As you dashed out of the room, you heard profanity pouring out of it from behind you.
You ran, lifting your dress up.
A hand suddenly grabbed yours from an adjoining corridor and pulled you down it.
"Guy!" you exclaimed in relief. You threw yourself into his arms, still shaking.
"We need to move," he insisted. The two of you ran, hand in hand, heading for the stair well which lead out through the back of the castle.
You raced through the kitchen, dodging serving women and cooks. Until you made it to the back door. Guy shoved the wooden door open, pulling you out into the chilled air.
By the time you had made it to the stables, you were completely spent of energy and breath.
"We can't stop now," Guy said.
You had fallen down onto a bale of hay. Your cheeks and forehead were bright red and full of sweat. Guy stopped beside you and then leaned down, kissing you.
Guy pressed his forehead to you and sighed. "You're everything to me," he sighed. "I won't let any harm come to you, I swear."
"I know you won't," you whispered. However, that fear still racked through you. You trusted Guy with every fibre of your being, but could he really keep you completely out of harm's way?
"Another girl, eh, Gisborne?" a sly voice came. "You know, I really am starting to get quite sick of the lengths you'll go to for women. They're really not worth it."
Guy turned on his heel only to see the Sheriff standing at the door of the stable, with Edmund beside him. Edmund had blood dripping down the side of his face and his dark eyes were glaring at you and Guy.
"Lord Edmund has already said he is quite happy to forgive you for this little mishap," the Sheriff said, grinning. "However, my dear, I don't think he'll be so forgiving if you try and do this again."
The Sheriff walked slowly towards both of you.
Guy held your hand tight.
"As for you, Gisborne, I think a change of job location may be in order. Just to be sure that nothing like this will happen again, and Edmund here won't have to worry about you two sneaking off together to roll in the hay."

What Is Possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masterlist of fan fiction
Anything is Possible chapters: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Fluff, happy ending, family reunion, slight angst
Summary: Sequel to the fic, "Anything Is Possible." You and Guy are now married and have a one year old daughter, named Ghillie. You all go travelling together to see your parents who you have not seen for 18 months, since your interrupted wedding to Lord Edmund.
Comments: If you would like to be added to or removed from my tag list, please let me know.
I would like to dedicate this fic to two close friends. Firstly, @piggledy-higgledy who is the biggest Guy of Gisborne fan I know, and suggested the name of the baby. Thank you for believing in me. Secondly, @the-fragile-heart-of-a-lady I absolutely love our Guy banter and talking about him being jealous and burning houses down. I love you both. <3
“Ghillie,” you cooed. “Come on, darling.”
The little girl giggled, her blue eyes focused on you. You reached out, encouraging her to come toward you. Then suddenly she began her unsteady stomps, her arms reaching up. But now her focus had shifted to just behind you. She wanted her father.
Guy had walked in from out the back of the house, where he had been readying the carriage for all three of you to make the journey to finally see your parents. As soon as he saw his daughter’s chubby hands reaching for him, he couldn’t resist. Ghillie continued chuckling, stomping unsteadily towards Guy.
You watched on in love as Guy scooped up the laughing one year old. He kissed her red cheek and then her almost-black hair.
“The carriage is ready,” he said, holding Ghillie in one arm and then wound his other arm around your waist.
Your mother and father had been in contact via letter now for around eighteen months, and today would be the first time that you all travelled as a family to see them. The town they were now living in was two day’s journey, but with a stopover at a small inn on the main road.
The journey itself was quite uneventful for the most part. You sat with Ghillie on your lap, singing and talking to her, while Guy remained the steerer of the carriage. Every couple of hours and you would stop for a drink and to nurse Ghillie. The weather was bright, mild and dry, perfect for travelling.
At the inn and Guy paid for a large suite for you both and Ghillie. There you all shared the large, four poster bed.
“I wonder if this is the honeymoon suite,” Guy mused. “Not that I’d bring my bride here.”
You laughed. “Beggars can’t be choosers sometimes, Guy. Not everyone has the means to live in luxury.”
Guy merely smirked and leaned over to you, kissing you. Ghillie was sat between you both, playing with her stuffed pony which Mary had made for her. Since your interrupted wedding to Lord Edmund, Mary the seamstress, had been a close friend. She had become almost a second mother to you, helping you in your questions towards motherhood. She was also Ghillie’s godmother.
A short while later and you and Guy lay on your sides facing each other, with your sleeping daughter between you both. “I never thought this would be possible,” you said. “I seriously never thought I’d ever be happy like this.”
Guy reached to you and laced his fingers through yours. He smiled and looked at your joined hands. “You’ve given me everything I ever wanted.” Then his steel blue eyes met your gaze. “I don’t deserve you or Ghillie, I know that…”
“Guy, please…”
“I don’t,” he continued.
“Shh, come here, you stupid man,” you hissed. You kissed him hard, tugging at his thin tunic.
“I do love it when you take charge,” Guy chuckled. “And when you scold me.”
***
Finally you made it to your parents’ village. Guy took the carriage slowly through the main muddy track, where small houses were built on either side. There was a tavern, a blacksmiths and a few stalls in a field behind a chapel.
Then you saw her from the small window of the carriage, your mother standing out the front of their house, waving to you. She was smiling broadly, something that she rarely did when she was in Nottingham.
“Come on, Ghillie. I’ve got someone very special for you to meet,” you told your daughter. You picked her up and then stepped out of the open door of the carriage, which had been opened for you by Guy. In one arm you propped Ghille, and with your other hand, you held Guy’s.
Your mother broke down into tears as she saw you, and then looked at her granddaughter. “C…can I hold her?” your mother asked.
“Of course you can,” you said.
You watched for a few seconds as your mother smiled at Ghillie, whispering ‘hello’ to her and then kissed her chubby fingers. “Her name is Ghislaine,” you said. “Ghislaine Sarah.”
Your mother looked at you with wide eyes upon hearing Ghillie’s middle name be the same as her own.
“Ghislaine was my mother’s name,” Guy said softly. “But we call her Ghillie for short.”
“I can’t deny it but she looks just like you,” your mother chucked, looking up at Guy.
You all went into your parents’ house and sat down in the main kitchen area, while your mother began preparing a kettle of tea. “Your father hopes to finish work up in the field a little earlier today. Are you planning on staying with us long?”
“Umm, well, as long as you’ll have us,” you replied. “We’ve packed enough provisions for a week, and Guy is able to stand down from duty for a fortnight.”
“We would love to have you permanently,” your mother laughed. “A week sounds perfect.” Ghillie was sat on your mother’s lap, having taken to her immediately, which was quite extraordinary as she normally didn’t like strangers. But your mother was the first person she had met without screaming.
Your father later entered the house and embraced you tightly. It was the first thing he did. Then he apologised to you for all the heartbreak he had caused. “I was a coward. I know that. Edmund held a lot over me for years; he offered me money so that he could have you. That morning, I just knew what I had to do.”
Your father hung his head in shame and then looked at Ghillie. “She’s beautiful,” he said softly. Then he looked at Guy. “Thank you for making my daughter happy, Gisborne.”
As dusk began to settle, your father took Guy down to the local tavern for a pint, while you remained at the house with your mother and Ghillie. Your mother was cleaning the pot from the stew she had made for dinner, while you dried the plates. Ghillie was sat on the floor, playing with her pony and a few toys that your mother had collected for your visit. The toys banged against the wooden floor, and with each bang, Ghillie giggled.
“How are you and father doing?” you asked.
“He knows I still hold resentment against him for what he did to you, but I pray often with the priest at the chapel. I want to let go of all the hate in my heart. It can be hard to live with him some days. All I can see is the coward that he was for so long.”
“But he’s not that man now,” you countered. “Look what he did for me; that’s not the action of a coward. He saw what he was doing and he changed.”
Your mother began to sob.
You took her into your arms and held her, feeling her shake. “I think I hate myself more.” Her voice was muffled by your shoulder.
“Mother, please,” you reasoned, pulling from the embrace. “I hold nothing against either of you for this. We know how hard things can be; father wanted to provide for the family. Edmund was a monster and he held sway over father with money. You can’t blame father for that. Money holds a lot of power, we all know that. I wish Guy would consider changing his work, but the money keeps us well provided for. You have to do what is right for your family.
“Does he take care of you?”
The instantaneous smile told your mother everything that she needed to know. “He dotes on us. Guy had quite a bad childhood and all he’s ever wanted is love in his life. I’ve never known a man with such an enormous heart. He seems like a walking contradiction in how cruel and callous he’s been known to be, yet with us, he would do anything we ask of him.”
“As long as he cares for you both, that’s all that matters.”
***
When your father and Guy arrived back from the tavern, the two of them were laughing. “It’s been a pleasure tonight, Gisborne,” your father said, and extended his hand. The two men shook hands, and it was here that you hoped the two of them would always have a good friendship.
You retired to bed a while later, with Ghillie between you and Guy. She was already asleep, having been worn out from the day’s events.
“Mother has said she will take Ghillie for a few hours tomorrow so that we can have time alone together,” you told Guy. You watched his face beam, and then his gaze drifted down to Ghillie. His fingers caressed her dark hair and he felt that all too familiar lump rise in his throat. It was the lump that reminded him of what was possible.
“Are you alright?” you whispered.
Guy’s gaze met yours, and it was now full of tears.
“Do not say again that you feel undeserving,” you sighed. “Life does not deal in who deserves and who doesn’t. I gave my love to you freely, as you did me.” You reached out and cupped your husband’s cheek. “We both love you, Gisborne. We both love you for everything you are.”
Guy couldn’t help but chuckle, and feel the tears fall down his cheeks. “I can’t even imagine what it would have been like if you had had Ghillie while married to Edmund. To see my child raised by another…”
“Guy, stop!” you exclaimed. “I didn’t marry Edmund. I married you. Ghillie is yours; she’s here with you every day. She carries your name, as do I, you stupid man.”
Guy smiled as you said those words again, playfully insulting him.
“Give me that smile, Gisborne,” you said softly, and reached closer, kissing him.

I Have Time.
Tumblr media
Part 1 can be found here
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Pining, smut, insecurity
Summary: From the imagine, “Imagine telling Guy about your 21st century Christmas traditions.” Part 2.
Comments: If you would like to be added to or removed from my tag list, please let me know. Requested by @sydmarchsstuff
I'm going to sound like a broken record, as usual, but thank you to all of you who regularly engage with my fics. I appreciate it more than you know. :)
The knock at your door had completely broken the spell from around you and Guy. The two of you moved over to your small table, which you noticed that Guy had already set and he began plating the food.
“You really didn’t have to do this,” you told him.
Guy merely smirked at you and then pulled your chair out for you. “Would you like your shawl? You’re shaking.”
As the spell had been broken from around you, you had never even noticed the temperature. Your mind was too pre-occupied with this gorgeous man before you. He aroused you in so many ways, not just physically, but also emotionally. Those icy eyes held so many negative emotions, and whenever in his company, something made you feel sad for him.
Before you could answer and Guy had got your shawl and was placing it around your shoulders. You couldn’t help but notice how his hands lingered on your shoulders for a couple of seconds and then slipped away. The truth was this: you had always found it impossible to read men and know their intentions. Was Guy really interested in you for more than just friendship?
In his own seat, Guy remained silent and still, watching your reaction to the meal he had organised. But you remained closed, your shoulders and back straight, your face straight. He sighed and tightened his fist, not realising that you had noticed him.
“Is everything alright?” you asked.
“No, it isn’t,” Guy growled. His jaw was clenched, and his own uncertainty and indecision was driving him mad. He thought back to pursuing Marian; that had been easier. He had always known that she would never love him, and that somehow spurred him on to try and change her, presenting a challenge. You, however, were so difficult to read, being a different creature entirely. When he had touched your hand earlier, by the fire, you had not moved. Was that his sign?
“Have I done something wrong?” you asked, feeling immediate guilt rise in your chest, and you had no idea what you were feeling guilt for. “Please, Guy, I would never judge you for telling me your thoughts.”
His gaze locked on yours from across the table. “Most women I’ve encountered and their intentions I can read. Yours I cannot. You confuse me.”
“My intentions in what way? As in, romance?” you asked, your eyes wide in shock at this sudden admission. To think that Guy of Gisborne had power and persuasion, beneath all that was a deep vulnerability.
“You could call it that, yes,” he replied simply.
You sighed and looked down into your lap.
Guy watched you, and noticed a very slight smile on your face. What did that suggest? Amusement? Happiness?
“Why do you smile?” he asked bluntly.
“Because I’ve felt the same way about you. I’ve been here a few months now, and I thought maybe I’d be able to read you because you’re not like a lot of the men I’m used to.”
Guy smirked. “Is that so? Indulge me.”
I don’t mean it in a bad sense at all. Far from it. I’ve never really been what men want back where I come from. I began to think you were the same as that.”
“So, how am I different to these men then?”
“It’s hard to explain, Guy, and you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Guy got up from the table and stepped around it towards you. He leaned down, feeling that intense draw to you, an invisible connection. It beckoned him closer to you, and then he stopped.
You reached for the edge of his leather tunic, which had two fastenings open at the top. You grabbed the edge of the tunic and pulled him toward you, stopping for a second so your faces were no more than two inches apart.
Guy inhaled sharp and then kissed you hard. The two of you succumb to that heat which had been rising for months now. The kiss deepened and your tongues met. You got to your feet and the two of you, still kissing, fumbled over to the bed.
With shaking hands, in anticipation and excitement, you unfastened Guy’s leather tunic, peeling it from him. He threw it to the floor, thankful to get rid of it. And then you continued kissing.
Once completely disrobed, Guy lay over you, kissing you. The kisses were less forceful now, and instead were full of love. You brushed your hand up into his hair, lacing your fingers in the raven locks.
Guy’s hand trailed down your warm body, followed by his lips. “I’ve waited so long for you,” he groaned.
“You have me now,” you replied.
The two of you made love slowly, tenderly, deeply. There was no rush in either of you. Everything was about savouring the moment, remaining joined for as long as you could be.
Guy rocked against you, his head at your neck. Your hands were locked in his and your legs were closed around his waist. With each deep thrust, you felt him press against that pleasure point. It made the waves mount as if each time he hit that spot, it flicked a switch, increasing the electricity. It was building, like a pressure in the very base of your stomach.
Every sensation that Guy felt was pure pleasure, warmth and love. He was encased in you, protected by you. For a second he pulled his lips from your neck and looked into your eyes, smiling as he did so. His whole heart told him that you were his home. Guy had never known a true home, until now. He continued thrusting into you as you kept your gazes locked, and he watched your smile change, transforming your expression into one of wonder; eyes shut, mouth open. This was his sign to thrust that little quicker, and as he did so, he saw your expression mirror your ecstasy even more intensely. His name slipped off your tongue, becoming caught up in a groan. Your body shook around him, and he could feel you tightening his girth.
As the orgasm reached its peak and died away, you opened your eyes, feeling aftershocks flicker down your legs. And it was here that you knew Guy had also reached his climax. His eyes closed and you watched him come closer, putting his lips to yours. He groaned into your kiss. You held him as he rode that beautiful wave out and then let him slip down onto your chest, panting.
Guy closed his eyes, that sense of being at home so intense now. Your heartbeat pulsed against his ear, gradually slowing the longer he remained there, the two of you skin to skin.
The afterglow lingered around the two of you for a few minutes, until Guy spoke. He lifted his head from your chest and looked at you, brushing a stray piece of sweaty hair from your brow. “You have yet to tell me exactly where you’re from,” he said, smirking. “I was hoping that this may have warmed you into trusting me enough to tell me where you are from.”
“You won’t believe me, Guy. I know you won’t,” you replied defensively and pulled yourself up the bed so you were sat up.
Guy shifted beside you and laced his hand in yours. “Trust me, please.”
You sighed and focused on him, finding him the most handsome man you had ever seen. And somehow he was now yours. “I’m from the future.”
Guy stared at you blankly.
“See, I knew you wouldn’t believe me.”
Guy furrowed his eyebrows. “I never said I didn’t believe you. You’ve assumed immediately what I’m thinking. It’s hardly something that you hear on a regular occasion, is it? So how do you expect me to react?”
You continued. “I’m from the year 2022. I’d read stories about time slips and never believed they existed. I always thought they were silly ideas or just stories made up by drunk people. This is why I don’t talk too much about home. England is extremely different to this in the future. It would take me a long time to talk about everything.”
Guy just stared at you and propped up on his elbow, resting his head on his hand. “I have time.”

Anything Is Possible (4)
Tumblr media
Masterlist of fan fiction
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC TV series)
Pairing: Guy of Gisborne x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, brief smut, violence, mild sexual assault references, graphic depictions of being burned alive.
Your mother glared at your father in sheer anger and contempt at his lack of empathy. "All of this is because of you," she shouted. "You could have stood up to Edmund, you coward."
"How dare you! Edmund has kept us in comfort since offering to take her as his wife."
"You and money!" your mother spat.
"If we lose out on this then Edmund could do something much worse."
"Or we lose our daughter completely. I never liked Gisborne much before today, but he was more willing to fight for her happiness than you. He's the only one who has been ready to fight for her."
"Gisborne is a dog!" your father growled.
"And Edmund isn't? Gisborne has a heart. If it was up to me, I'd gladly let him take her hand. He's willing to fight for her, as is right."
*
Your mother and you remained side by side, your head on her shoulder, as you wept . The rain was falling heavy outside your window, mirroring you heart. "I would gladly take this burden off your shoulders, my sweet," your mother said softly. "I'm sorry I never spoke up sooner."
"Maybe if I pray hard enough then my words will make it through the rain and clouds, and up into heaven," you said softly.
*
Two days later and you sat by your window, imagining the times that Guy had visited. All you could see was his silver blue eyes, long nose, charming smirk and wavy, raven hair.
Wedding preparation was now underway. Seamstresses had taken your measurements and were beginning to make your gown. In fact, the head seamstress, Mary, was your mother's best friend of many years since childhood.
Each day seemed to disappear from your grasp, quicker than the blink of an eye, and all you could do was think of Guy. Would he come through and find some way to release you from this hell? You missed him so dearly that you forgot to eat, and felt as if all intensity had dissolved from the world. Everything felt empty, void of colour, taste or smell. All your senses had become dull.
As a child you never believed in love, thinking it to be some insane concept that people yearned for but never actually found. But how entirely wrong you had always been. Guy had made you see that you really could become besotted and need another person.
The first time Guy and you had kissed was when he was escorting you home after duties the previous summer. Townsfolk may have only seen his greed and hostility, which was driven by the Sheriff, but you saw a whole different face. Somehow he was changed when in your company, becoming empathetic, understanding. And now that your relationship had blossomed exponentially, Gisborne demonstrated how loyal he truly was. You knew of the sadness he had endured since a child, never having known true love. Now that someone loved him in return and his fierce loyalty was unleashed.
*
Guy sat on the edge of his bed one morning. As always, he was thinking of you. Prayer had never been something he resorted to, until now. In the buzz and chatter of his own anguish-riddled mind, Guy of Gisborne requested to commune with God. There was no immediate answer, and all he could do was wait, giving the reins over to a higher power, rather than rely on his own strength.
There was a whoosh as something was pushed under his door. He slipped across the room, barefoot, and picked up the envelope marked with his name. In the envelope was a piece of parchment, and his eyes were drawn immediately to your name, which was written in black ink. And Edmund's name followed. It was a wedding invitation.
Growling like a tortured animal, Guy tore the parchment apart and threw it onto his fire. In those moments and he imagined it was Edmund's face being thrown into the flames. Guy saw it all in his mind's eye: Edmund's eyes melting, skin bubbling, and his mouth open wide, screaming, but no words came as his throat disintegrated.
A tap came to his door. All thoughts were tangled and emotion became caught up, pulled into one big mess. "Come!" he shouted, his fist still clenched.
A guard entered the room and removed his helmet.
"What is it?" Guy snapped.
"I can get you to her without being seen. My wife is the head seamstress working on her gown, and she's longstanding friends with her mother."
"How?" Guy urged, shifting up to the guard. "The Sheriff has spies all over the place, we all know that."

After dark that night you lay in bed, only to hear your door creak open. You looked up to see your mother's face illuminated by moonlight. "Put on your cloak and shoes...quickly!"
Your stomach jolted in both anxiety and excitement. Your gut was telling you that something wonderful was about to happen.
As soon as you'd pulled on your thick cloak and shoes, you followed your mother out of the small house, trying hard not to make too much noise and wake your father. You heard snoring coming from your parents' room, and continued out into the open street.
Both you and your mother dashed into the field behind your house, hand in hand. It was fairly cold out, but the excitement and the rush warmed you.
Finally you made it to Farmer Henry's barn, where a guard was stood just outside, keeping watch. Your mother ushered you into the barn.
Guy looked up and saw you appear. He called out your name and raced to you. Both of you grabbed each other tight and kissed hard. As you stood in Guy's embrace with his forehead pressed to yours, you couldn't help but break down into sobs.
"I love you so much," you wept.
Guy kissed your brow and held you tight to him, desperate to keep you there.
Your mother watched for a few moments, seeing the sheer desperation in yours and Guy's actions. Then she shifted out of the barn, giving you privacy. With a sigh, she felt regret and guilt wrack through her. How could she ever let Edmund take you from Guy? What kind of mother would she be to submit her own child to a world of emotional, mental and physical torture by a man who should protect them? What kind of mother would she be for denying her child the chance to be happy?
The guard looked at your mother. "Are you alright?" he asked.
"I can't let that wedding happen," she said, beginning to choke on tears. "If it means being imprisoned, or worse, then I'll fight for my daughter and Gisborne to be together."
