My contribution to October Magma Event: Trash King Garbodor Man Emmet & Trubbish! (special costume Fall 2023)
Trubbish can evolve into Garbodor with gigantamax form! Together they make a poison type striker sync pair!
I have ideas for this design in store, hopefully I can share them later!

A while back you said that you missed the Free Skate Yuuri nendoroid but I saw one on eBay today for $40!!! Go get em tiger!
this one, right? this is depressing, and i’m sorry anon, but you saw a bootleg. sometimes it’s difficult to spot one, and i don’t actually know if many people are good at spotting bootlegs, so i made a quick thing for you and others who wanna know.
so like, yoi nendos are done through orange rouge, which is a collab between good smile and max factory to provide figures and goods of male characters. if the goodsmile logo isn’t in the top right corner, it’s going to be the collab logo.
here’s a couple of my own!
Tumblr media
umaru is in the back with a regular goodsmile logo.
conan is in the middle, with a goodsmile logo and a slight rip(kms), as well as the tottori ‘made in japan’ logo! the choking hazard warning is on top because the box itself was made differently(no window) during first release, and they aren’t going to redesign a new box just for a rerelease.
then you see yuuri’s box in the foreground. yuuri was modeled through orange rouge, so you can see the OR logo in the corner. also take note of the product logos, the logos for the show (or game) the character is from in the top left of the boxes.
when it comes to bootlegs, they never have the trademarked logos on the boxes. if they did, it would open them up to serious lawsuits. to get around this, bootleggers simply don’t use the logos at all.
Tumblr media
here’s an imgur link of this image, and i’ll describe it below as well.
on the left is a legitimate nendoroid, ripped from yykawaii
on the right is a bootleg, from the ebay seller anon mentioned.
firstly, secondly, and fourthly, like i mentioned earlier, is the issue of logos. they won’t be present on bootlegs. for number 4, good smile puts the nendoroid logo and the sculptor credits on the box. when you get your nendoroid, you can hop on twitter and thank your sculptor directly! thirdly though, is the issue of the actual quality of the figure itself, which as you may be able to tell, is Bad.

“whats symmetry??” - direct quote from the automated machine that spit this monstrosity out of the depths of hell
the eyes and eyebrows are positioned wrongly, the neck joint is visible, the outfit is seemingly modeled flat, and the arms are just.... rly something, huh....
in the description its listed as “china version” which is a dead giveaway that it’s bootlegged. anything that claims to be a nendoroid and says “china version” is 100% bootlegged.
Tumblr media
(unless its this exact specific miku, which is only chinese because they made the box art chinese)
all nendoroid products are made in the good smile factory in tottori, japan. there’s chinese distributors, but they are selling good smile imports from japan. there is no such thing as a “chinese version” nendoroid, but there are such things as nendoroids that are only being released in a certain region, like hong kong, taiwan, singapore, and so on. this was the case with a recent release of Pkmn Trainer Red.
Tumblr media
those still have the logos on them though lmfao.
i actually messaged the seller to figure out what the hell they were thinking, and this is the result:
me:
The Free Skate figure you listed is a bootleg. You should state that clearly in the title and description before someone buys it thinking it's legitimate. Because surely that isn't your intention...
seller:
This is not a bootleg. I listed the item in my description as a China Version bc it has flaws such paint job flaws and other minor flaws. All good smile company products are made in China and the ones that are accepted by japan good smile company inspection and passed are considered japan release or japan version. The ones that aren’t accepted are considered China version. I’m a us seller not a China seller where they sell bootlegs with a missing arm or a missing eye or the parts don’t fit. Our product is totally fine it just it has minor flaws such as paint job. Did you not read our description section?
me:
I did read the description section. There is no such thing as a "China Version" nendoroid, unless plainly stated in the name of it, such as the case with Hatsune Miku 854. All except for a very small number of Good Smile Nendoroid products are made in a factory in Japan, and that small number, as i stated, contains the word "CHINESE" in the name. This fact is relayed on Good Smile's bootleg warning page. (https://partner.goodsmile.info/support/eng/fake/)
Also relayed on the page is that all good smile nendoroid products will have the good smile logo and nendoroid series logo on the box, which your listing does not show, because it would open up lawsuits if the manufacturer tried it. Even if your listing was somehow miraculously some kind of special version that doesn't have the company logos, it should at least have the product logo for yuri on ice in the top left, which it doesn't. additionally, all yuri on ice nendoroids have an Orange Rouge logo in the top right, because that's the partner company that modeled them.
I fully believe it was made in china, but it's not a good smile product and is not a nendoroid. just list it as a figure then, not trademarked terms.
if you're a US seller, i'm actually concerned you were fooled by a china manufacturer into selling these when they're fake. it would be smart to notify Good Smile of the manufacturer then so they might have the opportunity to take legal action for using the Good Smile name and Nendoroid trademark to sell counterfeit goods.
seller:
I hope you know that it has all of that information in the back of the box and I have attached the picture of the back of the box for you. I bought this from a us store and they are a reputable anime store and I have all the receipts for this product. It’s very offensive to me that you are sending me these messages. Please do not message me anymore.
me:
I will no longer contact you then. I'm sorry you got ripped off.
the thing is, their reputation actually is good, and they have other nendos in their listings that are legitimate, it’s really just this one thing. and that’s pretty depressing imo.
in their last message to me, they attached this image of the back of the bootleg’s box.
Tumblr media
now here is an image i just took of my eros yuuri nendo’s box.
Tumblr media
quiz! can you spot the difference between my box and the bootleg’s box?
if you said “there isn’t a single goddamned logo on the bootleg’s box” then you’re correct! additionally, the “contact good smile here!” box is also missing. because they cannot legally claim to be good smile and you cant contact good smile over a bootleg.
here’s yykawaii’s box back.
Tumblr media
their logo is covering the orange rouge logo, but the nendoroid logo and the contact box are both present, because its legitimate.
and there’s my afternoon’s effort! i’m done for the day.
tl;dr here’s some tips on how to spot a bootleg nendo, NEVER buy nendos on ebay, and ALWAYS report bootleg listings. sorry abt the long post!
