I can't help but find whatever Ibara-san does shady, but he does seem to have greaaat management skills.

Ehe, I hope you're doing well or if not, hopefully better! ♡ I've been getting headaches lately, but playing through the new Fungi event really washed them all away for some reason? Have you played it? It gives me Pokemon vibes and who am I to deny the opportunity to become Ash Ketchum in Genshin 🥸 (P/S: I'm glad you found it sweet that my s/o is also an ENTP, I actually told them about the matchup and phew, was their ego stroked, haha. And my 50 Mora... Goodness, do I need to give him a hand cream so his hand won't slip next time or should I just start pressing buttons for him from now on? Wait, what if he keeps doing this on purpose? Of course, I don't mind lending him my Mora but if he makes this a routine, I might have to reconsider— Okay, I'm buying him that hand cream. I AM BACK!

Hey everyone!!!

I remember saying I'll be posting a Sept-Oct homecooking post but look, it is Nov 29th already! So instead, I'm working on a Sept-Oct-Nov post :P

So . . .

I was back from Korea on the 3rd week of October. I had a blast there, as usual. I can say everything went smoothly - with minor hiccups regarding the flights. I don't know when I'll share those or IF I will share those. .. maybe here? I don't know! Anyway, it was so much fun!! I didn't want to come back but by the end of the 3 weeks, I was getting kind of tired towards the end bcos I had 12-13 hr days, all day, every day lol out around 8am & back to hotel about 8-9pm, with no rest in between besides coffee time, basically. It was go go go everyday! I didn't get sick so that was awesome. I purchased another umbrella -.-" every time I go to Korea, there's like 1 day (or 1.5 ish) where it rains & I'm like. .. should I buy an umbrella or not? I end up buying one every time! Currency exchange rate was good; even with credit card service fee, so I feel like I went at the right time. Umm. .. what else? Oh, I checked off a bucket list item haha actually a few. My fav place remains to be Busan! Weather was soooo hot & humid in the beginning of my trip but cooled down the last day >.< lame! As a result, about 1 week into my trip, my skin turned terrible. I visited a pharmacy on Jeju Island bcos the mosquito situation was bad- had to get kids mosquito 'lotion'. It's basically a cooling liquid that you rub onto your mosquito bites & it has a mint-y effect to relieve itchiness. I really like the smell & it worked really well, so I was gonna buy another one to bring back but forgot!

The main concern for me was. .. things were not as cheap as they used to be. By "things", I really mean the food & coffee. In particular the street food - omg! It's rare to find items that are <4000KRW (~$4USD). Coffee was also very pricey! I mean, they were already pricey but numbers are higher now :O It hurt but it was great! haha

So yeah. .. I'll be getting on that 3-month summary post so I will end the post here =]

This is what I made earlier this week at home~ I'm putting my milk frother & milk pitcher to use. I have had the frother for a while now but haven't used it. .. until I got a pitcher during Black Friday. Anyway, will elaborate on what this is in a later post~

Actually, changed my mind. .. I will keep writing bcos I kind of miss this =D

PS: about the flight hiccups. ..

My flight itinerary was Edmonton to Vancouver to Incheon, you know, the standard route. Having roughly 4 hrs left on the long flight from Vancouver to Incheon (hovering above Japan), there was a medical emergency on the flight; specifically, cardiac arrest. I was like. . . "this kind of thing happens in movies!" I didn't think I would witness CPR on a flight & potentially experience an emergency landing (if the situation didn't improve). Thankfully, everyone was okay & flight landed in Incheon. EMS had to assess & deal with the patient first before anyone on the flight can move, which ultimately ended up delaying the whole 'arrival to hotel' schedule. (Ended up staying in for the 1st night bcos it was also Chuseok/Korean Thanksgiving so most places were closed really early besides convenience stores)

Coming back.. . again, the same long flight from Incheon to Vancouver. .. it was such a bad experience =( this may be controversial or viewed negatively but I'm sharing anyway bcos. .. This is my space! lol I was window seat, there was a middle person, & another person in aisle seat. 3 strangers. The middle person, unfortunately, was a bigger lady & her arms were in her 2 neighbours' space for the entirety of the flight. The only way/time when it wasn't was when she was physically not in her seat or when she was pressing stuff on her screen (so her arm was straight out). But in 'resting position', her arm was like above mine OVER MY SIDE OF THE ARM REST. It was very uncomfortable- for everyone, I'm sure. The Air Canada economy seat was clearly not a suitable seat for this lady. There wasn't anything I could do - I hated meal times the most bcos I felt so cramped. This, of course, can't be the only example; I am not sure what ppl do or what they think.. . maybe choosing an aisle seat would be better so you only have 1 neighbour if you're not gonna get non-economy seat. OR I dunno. .. can you buy 2 seats? But that's more than 1 business class probably? *shrugs* I felt it was a little inconsiderate but what can you do? Pls share your thoughts on this matter. I've never encountered this before.

Alright so I wanted to try the single colored background idea again, but expand upon it. I also tried making the water shiny, alongside drawing a rock, in NATURE. There's just one, so it's P R O G R E S S .

I do like the colorful yet organized result of this, with my interpretation being "colorful, yet organized. Without a comma."

I dunno I looked this up and apparently I don't need to register this (It's helpful in securing the work, though). You’re a sensible and level headed person in the Bridgerton fandom, what is your take on the EW feature? I don’t think I’m a super reactionary person, however, I’ve had a creeping feeling that S2 just isn’t going to be good (both critical reception wise and fan response/satisfaction). TVWLM is the best book and they’re bungling with it for some reason…

Haha I'm glad I seem sensible! Yes I try to keep this a relatively drama and discourse free blog.

That being said, I've turned off my asks for the next day or so because I'm gonna write big long fun posts about the new content we got today but don't have the time to answer anything beyond this one.

To be honest, my first reaction to the article wasn't actually how I personally felt about it. I saw that Jonny and Simone weren't the cover and I thought, 'oh dear, people are going to have things to say about this.' And they did and they still do about many of the things mentioned in the article. Which is obviously fine.

Onto my thoughts: Entertainment weekly is no award-winning publication. There were points where I thought the journalist extrapolated to a hilarious amount (like in the post introducing the characters, they implied that Theo Sharpe and Eloise would be good for each other??) and points where it was just hot air.

I DONT EXPECT ANYONE TO READ ALL THIS BUT HERE GOES

The cast had some insightful things to say about themes and commentary, and ultimately I have no real opinion on the fact that they focused on the side characters a lot. Those characters are a sure bet. It's press and I won't claim to understand marketing or the semantics of scheduling. I do think it would be weird if we never got a Jonny Simone cover somewhere at some point, though.

In terms of bungling it, safest assumption is that it's a bit of a wash? What are the chances that it'll be amazing? What are the chances it'll be theworstfuckingthingever? Small for both. There will be good and bad and it will certainly never be 'great' with the way it bites off way more than it can chew in terms of class, race, and even women's issues. In terms of pulling off a good romance, though, I have faith.

The actors (Jonny in particular) have shown very keen understanding of their characters, and they continue to hone in on important character beats such as Kate's utter devotion to her family and Edwina. I don't think Kate and Anthony's story can be bad with good performances and chemistry, and a basis of the characters we love. Even if it *is* bad, nothing's ruining Kathony for me because I'm not letting it lol.

This opinion may get me in trouble: I personally don't really care how well it is perceived critically or by GA or my followers. I only care that I like it myself (which I am determined to do within reason), and that I can continue to enjoy writing/reading fic. How good the subsequent seasons are also isn't something I care about, but for the rest of the fandom's sakes, I hope yall enjoy it.

Critics usually overexaggerate and GA (and by that I mean, non-internet ppl who don't think too hard about it) are easy to please. I don't think it'll do the same numbers but whatever. The promo isn't a disaster but it could probably be better.

Now onto the last part which is probably what a lot of the question was about.

I think the largest points of contention in the article were the "Bombay" thing (which people have rightly complained about. I'm no history wizard and I'm also a white girl from the American midwest so I don't want to play any role in the discourse other than listen. Anxiety is warranted and I hope it is aptly criticized when it comes out). And the 'triangle' thing.

I think we've gotten to a point today where people are mostly trying to be positive in the tag after a chaotic afternoon. I agree. The words seemed offhand, innocuous, meant for GA, and also infused into the article without hearing it straight from Jonny's mouth. Passing interest from Edwina or Anthony will probably last two seconds.

This may be bold, but even if Edwina is into him, or (worst case scenario?? And HIGHLY unlikely) upset about the marriage or even if Anthony PROPOSES/almost marries her, it would be a wild divergence but I wouldn't completely hate it. Kate's twofold guilt/turmoil would be interesting. This wouldn't just be "fighting over a boy," it's been driven home that Edwina and Kate are soulmates, and that they are adding depth to the relationship. So the worst case scenario is only moderately upsetting for me, but I have more hope than that anyway. We've been conditioned by popular media to assume all love triangles are bad. Drama can be annoying but it can also leave room for character development. it's a generally interesting narrative choice to have characters be into someone that isn't their true love beforehand (a la Siena), which, in a show that boasts its "progressivism" and a fandom which wants it to be even more so, is a more modern idea.

Adding drama and complexities to subplots in order to give your cast things to do can be okay if done right. Promo isn't the nail in the coffin for actual screen time and even if Kathony is only on screen for a half or third of the time, 4 hours of content is better than nothing. That ratio will only continue in later seasons as they keep adding to the cast. Polin's story will be so bloated with Danbury and Queen stuff and Eloise drama and setting up the next phase of the show if they even have it, so why cross compare?

So tldr

The best way to think about S2 is a fun AU, no expectations. Whatever the s2 is, it may be show-canon but it isn't gospel.

If you don't like s2 then it shouldn't ruin your entire bridgerton experience. It's okay to be disappointed, but like, being disappointed is what real life is for. It's not coming anywhere near my escapism.
