What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset

The true Heroines of Guatemaya ❀ *Vulnerable post* Today we celebrate #indigenousday in The Yukon. It is a very special day here - & I am so honoured to live, learn and grow on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün & Ta’an Kwäch’än First Nations. Today I especially reminisce on my people - the Mayans of Guatemala. In 2018 I travelled to Rural Guatemala where I met many beautiful souls and began to discover the true colours and depths of my heritage. My heart felt so alive… yet so heavy as I began to understand the truth and devastating impact of the civil war in Guatemala. The truth is the Guatemalan civil war touched every village, if not every indigenous family in Guatemala, It lasted 36 years and claimed over 200,000 lives. Victims were mostly men - indigenous men who were kidnapped - and bodies never found. Every woman that I met had her own story. The wounds and scars for many of these widows and families- are still healing. But the beautiful part is they don’t weep alone. These widows decided to stand together and form their own cooperatives - weaving cooperatives. Silently, beautifully they support one another, and are learning how to use the art of weaving to support their families. If you listen close - you can hear them. They speak through their art - through their weaving, through the colours in their threads - blood red, healing blue and empowering yellow. Each piece tells a story of their heritage - the Mayan people. These women are ARTISTS. They are bold. They deserve justice. They deserve healing. I stand with Guate-Mayans, with the indigenous women of Guatemala, and I always will. These women are the true heroines of my country. They will be the ones who will weave healing back into Guatemala once again. ༄ #supportindigenous #guatemaya (at The Yukon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfFDPupv_g5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Happy Indigenous People Day! Today we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous people around the world. Let us take this opportunity to honor their resilience and recognize the ongoing struggles they face.
As we celebrate Indigenous people Day, let's also acknowledge the importance of preserving and protecting their ancestral lands and resources. Let's work together to promote social justice and equality for Indigenous communities, and to ensure that their voices are heard and their rights respected.
With every purchase of this gorgeous jacket GIPSY MOON will be donated to the community https://www.shopgipsy.com/product-page/vintage-cloak-loose-long-tassels-knitted-jacket

School holiday started off with family flu shots. And the best surprise when the nurse administering our shots turned out to be nurse Jess Stiller- the same nurse who delivered 3 of our boys. We lost touch after we moved to Kaiser and Jess moved homes. It was fate that our paths crossed again. We finished off the day with some fresh pasta and pizza at Eataly. #Indigenousday

Long before our national parks were even an idea, Indigenous peoples were here. Learn about some of their stories, culture, and history on these lands this International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. #IndigenousDay

Native people have a History of respecting the land yet some fell into idolatrous worship of created things rather than our Creator who made it all
and to be sure, earth belongs to God just as Heaven where His Throne resides (we are all subject to the eternal King who is pure and fadeless Light)
(the Son)
and it is promised that the True nature of garden earth will be restored, just like Heaven
and the True children will inherit it. all wickedness will be cleansed, and every lie that destroyed the world.
the truth of this is conservation work
it points to the Book of Life

.@GrandCanyonNPS remains a homeland and sacred place to several Tribal communities. They are the first to live in harmony with the environment and have intergenerational and invaluable knowledge of the landscape.
