June 8, 20XX

Mercury is once again in front of the camera. He looks slightly less disheveled than before, but more desperate. Behind him, someone is taking off a hazmat suit.

"The- the fungus has already covered half the manor," Mercury says. He sounds afraid. "We woke up this morning and could barely open the door, the edges were covered in slime mold. I don't think that's even- I don't think mushrooms even make slime mold? God, I don't know; I'm a medical doctor, not a fucking mycologist, I-"

The person in the hazmat suit is revealed to be Jasper, who, once he's set aside his suit, comes to sit next to Mercury. He seems calmer now than he was yesterday.

"Mercury, it's okay. We've sealed the door now."

Mercury takes a deep breath. "Right. We've sealed the door. We still need to decontaminate the room, and get a proper airlock decontamination thing set up, but it's a start. And we do have some reinforcements on it."

"We've also sealed the basement," Jasper adds. "I...I think there's only one person left alive down there, but...well, he's been through enough. We brought him several days' worth of food, and told him to ration it as much as he could. I just hope it's enough."

"I think he's got about three weeks if he can ration it well," Mercury says. "Four if he's willing to starve himself a little, and nothing goes bad. We didn't have time to explain, much less advise him on how to ration his food, but he's clever. Barring desperation from how little he's been able to eat, and suicidal ideation from the shit he's already been through-"

Jasper winces.

"-I think he'll be alright for a while."

"We would've brought him up, but we weren't sure we'd even make it out without getting caught," Jasper says quietly. "And we forgot to bring the third suit."

"We'll find some way to get him out. For now, we need to work on decontamination." Mercury turns off the camera again.

JMV:

Obsidian: JMV Nightmare. evil bastard. He has lightning magic in addition to tentacles, which I myself forget about constantly.

Jade: JMV Dream. Heavy Stockholm syndrome. Green bean. His soul is half positivity and half corruption.

Koroit: JMV Error. The zappy hands lady. The only one even kind of willing to work for Obsidian’s bitchass. Amnesiac, and one of the strongest of the team.

Zircon: JMV Cross. Stoic and aloof. A widowed father whose child is missing. Obsidian claims she’s still alive, which is the only reason Zircon hasn’t tried to fight back.

Paraiba: JMV Dust. Chatty girl who can see souls, which is unusual for non-spirits/guardians. Working for Obsidian, because her other option is dying. Obsidian killed her best friend/sibling (all the info about Ruby seems to be missing, so I don’t remember for sure. But Ruby is supposed to be her Papyrus, so…probably sibling?).

Silver: JMV Killer. Mute, uses sign language. Besties with Paraiba; they’re inseparable. And like Paraiba, Silver’s alternative to working for Obsidian is being killed. She/they enby. Very cool, they are

Jasper: JMV Horror. Not a cannibal. The manor’s maid and cook. The only one aside from Obsidian who has keys for the dungeon/cell block in the basement. He’s a sweetheart tbh; very different from canon OG Horror.

Mercury: JMV Science Sans! The doctor. Very very good doctor, too. He’s very good at manipulating the natural magic in people’s bodies to speed up healing. He’s the reason Obsidian can’t make Jade a full corrupt.

Lazuli (usually just ‘Zuli’): JMV Swap Sans. Trans man, stuck in a cell in the basement. He is not having a good time. He is in fact having the worst time. He doesn’t even get pants.

DINTIS:

Jet: DINTIS Nightmare. Even in-universe ‘Jet’ is only a nickname; his real name is still Nightmare. Suave fucker. Evil bastard. …Not quite as evil as Obsidian though. Very, very attached to Dark.

Dark: DINTIS Dream. Ball of anxiety most of the time. Despite Jet’s attempts to get Dark to be more selfish and less of a do-gooder, he’s still got a very strong moral compass. Also needs to get away from Jet but he’s too busy being glad they’re ‘friends’ again.

Note: Jade and Obsidian aren’t related. Neither are Jet and Dark.

Maybe i'm dumb for asking this, but who are Finch, Jasper, and Colton?

fam?? okay the last two I understand but finch is a dreamswap character that’s been around for a while now

finch is a soldier who works at JR, or more notably, is a character who started out as an adaptation of color (you know, the guy from othertale) and, like the creepypasta squad, was totally appropriated and has a unique backstory to the point where he’s pretty much not the same character anymore (that is currently under construction)

jasper is from jmv, not made by me at all, but because of mine and tobin’s lengthy roleplay shenanigan he has interacted with hacker and honesty they’re pretty cute

colton is from hacker’s backstory, and is basically his ex whom hacker got caught up with during some nasty drama with a criminal gang kidnapping whom colton happened to work for and be born into

Written as several video transcripts (plus some more ‘normally’ written pieces), some strange disease has overtaken the manor. Only a few of them survive the initial outbreak…

Mercury tasks himself with finding a cure, but things are stranger and more dangerous than they first appeared. Even Jade and Obsidian, who shouldn’t be able to get sick, are infected, confined to their rooms…though not of their own choice. 

Where did this thing come from…?

The video shows a short, round man with tan skin, in glasses and a red sweater. His curly brown hair is a mess, and he looks like he'd been running from something. There's a black mark on his neck; a tattoo?

Behind him is another man, younger, with black hair and even darker skin. He's pulled up the hood on his jacket, and is shaking.

The short man in the front moves his hand away from the side of the camera and takes a deep breath.

"Okay...Hi. Um...I'm Mercury. I'm..." he trails off, searching for words.

"...I'm the doctor here. I've been stuck with Obsidian for a long time, now. So has Jasper, back there."

He looks behind him at the man in the hoodie. Jasper looks up with a start. He takes a deep breath, and pulls the hood off his head.

"H..hello. I'm...the maid, I guess." Jasper pulls his sleeves over his hands. "We're...we're not here willingly, but that doesn't matter much anymore, does it?"

He laughs; a short, hysterical laugh, that's interrupted by a choked sob.

Mercury gulps. "Yeah..."

He turns back to the camera. "A few weeks ago, a stranger came to the manor. They were covered in these weird mushrooms growing out of their skin, but claimed they weren't hurting them. They seemed nice, but they got along with Obsidian, which was a bad sign from the start."

"The only people who get along with Obsidian are people just as bad as him, or who willingly get in bed with him," Jasper says from the back, shuddering.

"He wasn't the only one they were making advances on," Mercury continues. "They went after me, Jasper, and Zircon too.”

"They got this, like...really weird look when I told them I was ace," Jasper remembers. "Like they were mad. It scared me. They left, but I..." He shudders again.

"I never really thought they'd leave me alone. I've seen that kind of look enough times. But…Jesus Christ…"

Mercury sets a hand on Jasper's shoulder.

"Pretty soon they started being ‘friendlier’ with the others, too. The girls, and Silver, and even Jade; though Obsidian wasn't happy about them doing that. And then Koroit started acting weird. She'd had some apparent interest in Zircon for a while, and she was never shy about trying her luck, but suddenly she was being overly friendly with everyone. Even Jade, and they’d never gotten along."

"...And by the time the mushrooms started appearing on Koroit, she'd already infected Zircon and Silver," Jasper says. "Paraiba was infected sometime yesterday, we think. Jade and Obsidian are nowhere to be seen, but we know Obsidian at least is still here. If he’s here, Jade probably is too, somewhere."

"The stranger is still here, too," Mercury says darkly. "The others seem to be listening to them. We've heard them talking about a 'colony'. Expanding it. Growing. We're...we're going to try to figure out something to do. In the meantime, I...I felt like we should have some kind of documentation. There's already strange mold growing in the others' rooms, I'm not sure how long it'll take for it to spread all over the manor. We're going to need hazmat suits pretty soon."

"At least Paraiba managed to get some before she got infected," Jasper says, looking off to the side. "...We're going to need some kind of decontamination thing, too, aren't we?"

Mercury nods. "I'm already trying to figure something out. I want to reinforce the door first, though. It won't do us any good if they can break in."

Jasper takes a deep breath. "Okay. One of the closets nearby has a toolbox, I could probably grab it quickly before someone shows up."

"Good idea. Put one of the suits on anyways, okay? Just in case." Mercury turns back to the camera, and reaches out.

Fantasy au ??

Ahem

A long ass time ago Wheeze and I went ‘hm. What if nice JMV AU’

More specifically, we had been spinning around the concept of Obsidian/Zircon, which would be very awful for Zircon in the normal AU. And that was fun for a bit, but then we were sorta like ‘ok but what if it was. okay. and soft’

So through power of ‘I have been playing D&D recently what if we made it a fantasy AU’ and pure fucking stubbornness we made it. And of course we threw DINTIS in there because it’s damn near impossible to have one without the other when it comes to us making AUs

It has since grown to include (counts on fingers) 4 AUs of JMV and DINTIS (each), DreamSwap, and H!DS. The two DS ones mirror each other quite a bit, but to be fair so do the original versions

Obsidian, Jade, Silver, Paraiba, and Jasper are merchants. Obsidian’s a blacksmith, Jade owns a general store that caters mainly to adventurers, Silver and Paraiba run an apothecary, and Jasper has a bakery.

Mercury is of course the local doctor.

Zuli, Koroit, and Zircon are sellswords. They’re often hired by people who need an escort to a nearby town, or take care of monsters nearby threatening the town.

Zircon’s family is alive and well! They’re doing great.

Obsidian’s pretty chill. He’s sarcastic and snarky and tends to make fun of people, but he got zapped with the ‘good person’ beam by god (wheeze and i) so he’s a pretty good guy. No murder no nasty shit just a severe case of RBF and an excess of distrust for strangers.

The group is all very close. Besties, if you will. Obsidian and Jade especially so.

And then Dark the warlock and Jet the demon roll into town

Jet’s a little shit still and an agent of chaos but he, like Obsidian, has been bonked with the Good Person Hammer and is overall a much much nicer person.

Dark and Jet have a contract, and Jet’s supposed to do as Dark says. But it’s very lax because Dark trusts Jet a lot and doesn’t want to control everything Jet does. They actually have a pretty healthy relationship AND they even actually talked about things….and they’re both on the same page about their feelings…insanity

The only trauma comes from when, for plot reasons, their home town gets wrecked. They have to go on a big epic journey to find a new home. They end up meeting the DS fools at some of the other AUs hanging around.

Officially, the AU is mostly about the JMV/DINTIS idiots and their journey. H!DS and most of our other AUs are more side-characters.

zuli: likes reptiles, likes cats sometimes

zircon: likes cats, probably owns/owned a rabbit

koroit: very recently on discord it has been decided that koroit owns a blue and white parakeet

quartz: likes mice/rats/hamsters etc

jasper: likely has a fur allergy. likes most reptiles (not snakes)

paraiba: likes cats and birds
