New Chapter - Deck of Many Dragons
Tumblr media
Chapter 68: The Moon
UPRIGHT: Illusion, fear, anxiety, subconscious, intuition
REVERSED: Release of fear, repressed emotion, inner confusion
The Moon is the ruler of the realm of dreams. She is wild, untamed, and enigmatic. She asks you to face your fear and dispel your illusions. She also wants you to know that sometimes your fears aren’t based in reality, so you should pay attention and take another look to see if there’s really something there to fear. The Moon appears when you’re about to make a snap decision, but you really should take a breath and reconsider whether you actually have enough information to proceed.

The deep work of the journey needs to be done alone and with intention. As we climb the mountain while going deeper into our super-consciousness we eventually understand that the most significant thing we can do in our life is too shine the light for others to find their own mountain top.

The Hanged Man. Art by Kelly Burton, from the Keeper of The Sacred Bee Tarot.
Seeing the Hanged Man evokes a slight feeling of discomfort at first glance- that place just before the acceptance that struggling further is not going to help. A new perspective needs the release of the struggle to change. There is a sense of transcendence, acceptance and initiation. There is a paradox of going deep within in order to transcend above. Jung said that one has to renounce will and wit and do nothing but trust the impersonal power of growth and development.
