Hi

Excuse me, but I was wondering if you could help me by telling me the right order to read the stories from "The Chance You Didn't Take" by Ronja universe (if that's how we can call it).

I've seen that another writer continued the story but I don't know where to start.

The original story is "The Chance You Didn't Take" (TCYDT) by Ronja.

Ronja also wrote a one shot in this universe, which is in Peeta's POV - "Lost Boy".

The original work remains incomplete.

However with Ronja's permission, the following "alternative endings" were written by Kris22 in the same universe.

(Alternative Ending 1) - "The Chance You Did Take"

This story picks up Ronja's story as if Peeta has gone through with the wedding to Lace, and explores Katniss' life from that point forward. It should be read directly after TCYDT.

(Alternative Ending 2) - "One Life to Live"

This story picks up earlier in Ronja's story and before Peeta marries Lace. It has a sequel also, "Twelve Years Later" - which Kris22 has just completed.

You can choose which alternative ending you wish to read first. I hope this helps!

Hello, I've been puzzling on Peeta's silence when Gale tells him that Katniss will choose the one she can't survive without. It occurred to me that they had been talking about the kisses on the beach and Peeta might have made an association between survive without and when Katniss had told him that she needs him. It then occurs to Peeta that he is the one Katniss will choose. What do you think?

A part of me thinks there could have been more to Peeta’s and Gale’s conversation that Katniss didn’t catch, since most people who eavesdrop don’t hear everything. But on the other hand, I can’t imagine what either Peeta or Gale could have added to the last thing Katniss overheard from Gale.

My interpretation of Peeta’s silence from Gale’s statement was more about what he thinks of himself than of Katniss. Even before his hijacking, I think he barely saw himself  as a real contender for Katniss’ feelings, particularly after Katniss “chose” Gale before the quell.

Gale did mention their kiss during the QQ as proof it’s Peeta who Katniss loves, but Peeta had some doubts about it. I think at that point he knew that kiss happened because he was shown a tape of it in District 13, but not because he fully remembers it or how he felt druing that time. From watching the tape of it, he could probably see the kiss was real, but there’s that nagging thought that it was all for the cameras.

I also think of Peeta as the type of person when placed in front of a crowd, he is great, but when alone, he is filled with self-doubt, and that it takes more effort for him to communicate as well with one other person than he would with a group of people. With the hijacking amplifying his fears and having attempted to kill Katniss twice already coz of it, I think he doesn’t feel he is the person that Katniss will choose or need, more than ever, and he was probably trying to process how he feels about that, hence his silence.

Hi! I have a question, in the fanfiction “The chance you didn’t take” by Ronja do Katniss and Peeta ends up together? I’ve heard it’s one of the best everlark fanfictions but I can’t read it if k & p aren’t endgame.

Unfortunately Ronja's "The Chance You Didn't Take" as written by the original author remains incomplete - though it did appear to be heading towards an everlark ending.

However, another author, Kris22, (@kriscme) has written some "alternative endings" to TCYDT, with Ronja's permission. You can find them on AO3. There are more details in this post.

I used to love ronja's stories and didn't know that someone was continuing Some of her stories. One of my most favorites was The project. Is there someone that continued that story? Thanks!!!

There isn't anyone that we know of.

If you will allow me to clarify something, Kris22 / @kriscme didn't continue Ronja's story "The Chance You Didn't Take". It remains incomplete and some day Ronja may choose to return and complete it and the rest of her works, including The Project, herself.

The stories Kris22 wrote were AUs written in the TCYDT universe. Ronja also gave Kris22 permission to post works in her universe.

Physical Book: I still buy physical books (I have a growing collection of former fic writers published works that I am very proud off!) but I usually read on kindle or pc. I like audio books, too!. I have found the laziest way to read is to follow the text on my kindle, while listening to the  audiobook! 

Fics: At the moment the fics I drop everything for the second they update are:  One Life To Live by @kriscme, Sole Beneficiary by @hutchhitched, and my most recent “must read” standout fic rec is Which Of Your Lives Is This? by @saturnblushes

Currently Craving: a cigarette.  Which is weird as I haven’t smoked in nearly 12 years, so I will ignore it, and I know it will go away.

Hi, I usually have a hard time finding fics like this, but I was wondering if you knew about any post mockingjay stories where Peeta recovers from the hijacking but looses romantic feelings for Katniss, so they have to start growing back together from scratch.

Hey! Do you know any other fics like "The Chance You Didn't Takec by Ronja where we for once have Katniss being the one that is more in love with Peeta while he's moving on, they may still end up together in the end or not. I just been feeling like I needed Angst...
