University Life ~ Alamea Mantu

Alameas First Big Day. She felt like she had been waiting for this day since her junior year of high school and now here she was in the big leagues at university. She had gone to the Freshmen mixer a few nights before and met a lot of people like herself straight out of high school and attending the university. She even chose a mixed-major dormitory so that she could get the best of her university days with a mixture of students instead of just the medical students she knew shed be around in all of her classes.

Re: photo- First day jitters. But Alamea chose her backpack weeks before so she felt ready.

Re: photo- Dorm life is surprisingly relaxing. I love the routine and most of us here have early classes so that we can have the rest of the day to ourselves. Unfortunately, the rumor is that second quarter med students are expected to be in class full days if not every class. Joy.

Classes for Alamea are so intriguing she feels like her mind is expanded with all the new information. Shes been taking med classes on the side and reading so many books in her spare time about different medical oddities and now that she's able to put them into practice, every class is exciting to her. Shes also met many other students in her class that were straight from high school and some lucky few were two weeks till their high school graduations.

A few months into her spring quarter Alamea decided that she wanted to give dating a try. Her brother, although devoted to Keaka, was always known to catch the eyes of girls and be popular with them. While Alamea and Kameo had each others face. (meaning they were both attractive to both sexes) Alamea always felt extra shy around the boys in her school and kept her distance as mainly friends but now that she was at university Alamea wanted something of her own, so she decided to download an online dating app, F8Luv. She knew that meeting people in person was a bit too social for her and she wanted someone like minded so she thought if someone went to the internet to look for a partner like she was then shed find a similar heart fellow.

And that is when she met Darnell.

It was brief but she thought she maybe had found the one. He was good looking and told her right away that she was beautiful. Alamea had never known what it was to feel like that so she didn’t know if this was the real thing or not.

As Alamea was coming into her own she found herself vulnerable and hanging with a crowd that was a bit intense for her. She believed they were her friends and they told her that she could be better if she did everything they said. Luckily, she learned quickly that UniMed, although perfect in every aspect, would have its share of flaws as well.

Re: photo- Alamea never turned down a dare even if she was the only one who seemed to do it while everyone else...stood around...laughi--oh. Lesson Learned.

A few months after the friend debacle, Alamea decided that she’d rather focus solely on her studies instead of trying to fit in with the cool kids which also meant dropping Darnell who for some reason never wanted to commit to Alamea but only kept trying to hook up even when she wasn't ready and denied him multiple times..So with a period of recovery she decided she would try the app again and this time make it known from the get go that she wanted something real. Real dates that would lead to Real connection.

And then she had her first date with Ekram Rishi.

Re: photo- Met up with Ekram. We’ve been chatting online for months now. Finally had coffee together. Talked about our majors. He wants to be a Veterinarian.

Two weeks into the final term of her first year at University, Alamea was taking a class titled One Health 102: The Theory and Practice of Integrated Health,which happened to be a mixed-medical class. This meant that other students involved in a medical field no matter the focus was able to take the class. And through lucky chance Ekram happened to be taking the class the same term as Alamea. Which let them get to know each other even more. Even though they were swamped with medical papers and studying for quizzes the two find time to make sure they had “foodie” dates where they made sure one another ate something that day.

Re: photo- It started raining towards the end of our Foodie Datenight ...being around Ekram makes me so giddy. We’ve been on these Foodie Dates for about two months now. They're the best part of my day whether it be towards the end or the start of my day.

Although obvious to his friends, Ekram finally decided that this moment in the rain was a perfect chance to tell Alamea that he had more than friends feelings for Alamea and he loved their Foodie Dates and that they were the best part of his day. He began to lean towards her..

Alamea, too stunned to even speak to even relay that she felt the same, welcomed his lean in and the rest was history..when they got back to Alameas dorm and dried off..Ekram asked Alamea to be his girlfriend.

As fall spring term was ending and summer term was fast approaching. Alamea decided to take summer off so that she could go home because she had heard word from her brother! He had graduated from his boarding school with Specialty Honors which meant that he had done wonderful at his boarding school and was looking forward to coming home!

Alamea couldn't wait to tell her twin about her experiences in University! And she decided she wouldn't go home alone, She was bringing Ekram to meet the family!
