zukaang | rajamandala | राजमण्डल | 羅闍曼荼羅 devdas, chigo, lengger lanang and layla-majnun inspired tale
the day zukō was born, agni bestowed him with a single eternal flame, everlastingly alight inside the gentur lamp which he would carry along with him everywhere he went. no one could extinguish and light it back at will except the one who’s destined to guide his fate, as prophesied at naloni mitoni.
after his genpuku as the successor of ōzai tennō, zukō accompanied azhura in attending durga puja and seren taun, hosted by baginda bhumi at the central port of canggu. the siblings then reunited with maiko and tài linh, who became patrons of entertainment in northern manjung.
their seventh generation of tawaifs featured the esteemed amrapali, whose swara and abhinaya effortlessly enamored kaldera royals. as she danced, not only did she take everyone's breath away, but also the life of every kindled flame in the room. then, when she lit them back with gentle sway of her hands, zukō knew that she's the one.
realizing that his son had set his eyes on a mere yìjì, ōzai warned the prince that he might be deceived by outlanders witchery, but zukō insisted that he trusted agni's sacred will. he continued to chase the tawaif in unquenchable desire to know about her more, unaware that the fate he would thread on was to become a madman, lost in utterly blind love which turned into the purest form of devotion.
because amrapali was, in fact, not merely a dancer and disciple of buddha. she was bodhisattva kannon in her avatar form-a man named āng, awakened in rana pota lake as the only living sky dweller. his kin were mercilessly wiped from existence milennium ago by zukō's ancestor, souzan tenshi, who begun the conquest of rajamandala.
āng's crimson henna, drawn by performers of tide drifters; adinda katara and kakanda saka, covered his distinguished irezumi, while his voice was trained to move even the most hardened heart by paduka běifāng and a hia haru, the stone wielders. together with his beloved shrivijayans, the avatar would liberate the victims of war under ōzai's tyrant rule.
however, it was out of āng's prior knowledge that he would possess karmic ties with the very son of his own enemy through vortex of conflicted, mortal feelings. willingly bestow thousands of blessings to zukō's thousands of prayers, he would, but even as the emanation of god, āng still could not simply pull the strings of fate as he selfishly pleased.
by the will of sang hyang widhi, āng was destined to succeed in ending the misdeeds of fire breather’s forefathers, but at the cost of his heart falling forever in unfulfilled love. for he knew, that even though zuko took the role of mirabai to krishna, their wish to be united would be granted only in death like that of layla and majnun.

Dhanteras - the festival of prosperity, good health and long life.
Tumblr media
Dhanteras, or Dhantrayodashi, is considered one of the most auspicious festivals by Hindus across the globe. The word Dhan means wealth, and Teras stands for the thirteenth lunar day in the Hindu calendar. This refers to the thirteenth Tithi (day) that ushers in Dhan (wealth) in one's life. It is the first day that marks the beginning of the Diwali celebration.
Being associated with prosperity, many Hindus look forward to Dhanteras. They buy new utensils and precious metals, especially gold, to attract good luck. It is also a silver coin for the Laxmi Puja.
Preparation for the festivals starts with cleaning and decorating homes with lamps. Women and young girls design colourful Rangolis at the entrance. The cleaning keeps the negative energy and inauspicious things out of the house for the arrival of Maa Laxmi the next day. As per the Hindu religion, Maa Laxmi blesses the family with abundance. During the night, people light lamps and pray to Bhagwan Yamaraj.
Interestingly, this festival is also associated with a healthy and long life.
Interesting stories related to Dhanteras.
Yama Deepdaan
In ancient times, King Hemraj got blessed with a son. An astrologer predicted the prince would die on the fourth day of marriage by getting bitten by a snake.
The prince grew up and fell in love with a princess of a neighbouring kingdom. Ignoring the astrologer's prediction, the prince got married to the princess. However, the princess was determined to turn back fate.
On the fourth, she keeps narrating stories to keep the prince awake. As predicted, a Yamdoot (the messenger of death) arrives in the palace in the form of a snake. To lure the Yamdoot away, the princess laid out all her ornaments at the chamber entrance. She pleads with the Yamdoot not to take her husband's life. Seeing her dedication, the Yamdoot suggests that she lit a lamp and prayed to Bhagwan Yamaraj. The princess immediately performs Yama Deepdaan, and the Yamdoot quietly leaves the place.
When the Yamdoot narrates the incident, Bhagwan Yamaraj (god of death in the Hindu religion) visits the royal place to meet the couple. Bhagwan Yamaraj's heart melts at the commitment of the princess. Since that day, the ritual of lighting lamps started on Dhanteras in honour of Bhagwan Yamaraj. This ritual can bless the devotee with a long life.
Bhagwan Dhanvantri
As per the scriptures, Devas and Asuras did Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean)s during the day of Dhanteras. One of the many valuables that came out of the ocean was Bhagwan Dhanvantri. The celestial physician of the Devas, also considered one of the Avatars of Bhagwan Vishnu, emerged from the ocean holding the pot of Amrit (nectar) and the Ayurveda book.

who: @lightxshadow where: the red temple of sunspear, some days into lady zialla hightower's visit to dorne accompanied by the rest of the reach courtiers who ventured to dorne. myriam has been visiting various establishments within sunspear, first the great sept and now the red temple for their blessing for the princess leila. myriam invited zialla specifically.
there were a large amount of people accompanying the princess and the regent to the streets of sunspear's labyrinth city, courtiers of dorne and beyond alike; there was one location they specifically found themselves walking through. the crowds in the streets split at the sight of house martell's sigil on the flags, adorned with petals of marigold and the scent of saffron remained in the air. there was the sound of bells amidst the various pujas, ritual prayers, that were taking place along the side of the road in the presence of their new leader. how the crowds and the people would cheer each time her kohl lined orbs looked upon them, as though she were a goddess; perhaps she was, to them.
and myriam allyrion would easily work with the narrative that the mother herself lived within each and very woman, which made them all a goddess: the regal more than ever before. "it is one long paved path between the great sept and the red temple. from the west to the east of the city."
she did not think of herself in such a way, but her daughter? the blood of house martell ran through her - she was the daughter of prince mors of house martell. she was the sun of dorne. the procession found themselves at the steps of the red temple in dorne; walking from one side of the city where the great multicoloured sept to the grand red temple, the biggest in all of westeros on this side of the narrow sea. their faith was not the same faith as myriam herself, or even the young princess, but they were a faith she would be tasked with protecting and including for they were her own. for whilst there was braavosi and various other types of essosi within the red temple, there were also dornish who had converted to the red faith.
Tumblr media
myriam slipped her shoes off as she entered the temple, immediately finding herself basking beneath the glow of the fire. the sound of chanting, and the warm welcome from the high priest who placed a ritualistic tikka on the foreheads of herself and her daughter both. there was a sense of peace in every religious establishment myriam allyrion found herself within, even the septs of the rest of westeros; even the heart trees of the north, despite the freezing cold. the grand ritual began, in which prince kian of house martell asked for the red temple to swear fealty to the new princess. she were in the arms of her uncle, and she stood to the side of the red temple with lady hightower.
it were obvious she missed it. she missed all of this. but myriam would not speak on what was not hers to address. "if this is not enough time, we can arrange to visit before you return." she spoke, her accent wrapping around the deep velvet of her tone. myriam's voice was like sandalwood, almost raspy - it were not light, or overly feminine. sensual in nature, to all but those who knew it simply was not. she raised her dupatta to cover her thick dark locks, which were tied up in a loose bun.

Odisha, formerly known as Orissa, is a state located on the eastern coast of India. It has a rich and diverse history that dates back several thousand years. Here is an overview of Odisha's history:
Ancient Period: The early history of Odisha can be traced back to the 3rd century BCE when it was part of the Kalinga region. The Kalinga kingdom flourished under various dynasties such as the Mahameghavahana dynasty and the Shunga dynasty. The famous Kalinga War took place in 261 BCE when Emperor Ashoka of the Mauryan Empire attacked Kalinga, resulting in a devastating conflict. Ashoka was deeply affected by the violence and embraced Buddhism.
Medieval Period: During the medieval period, Odisha witnessed the rise and fall of several dynasties, including the Bhaumakara dynasty, the Somavamshi dynasty, and the Ganga dynasty. The temple architecture of Odisha reached its peak during this time, with magnificent structures like the Lingaraja Temple in Bhubaneswar and the Jagannath Temple in Puri being built.
The Gajapati dynasty, founded by Anantavarman Chodaganga in the 12th century, played a significant role in Odisha's history. The Gajapatis ruled over a vast territory and were patrons of art, literature, and culture. They successfully resisted invasions from the Delhi Sultanate and even expanded their territories to include parts of modern-day Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
Colonial Period: In the 16th century, European powers, primarily the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, arrived on the Odisha coast for trade and established their settlements. The British gradually gained control over the region and made Cuttack their administrative headquarters. Odisha became a part of British India and remained under British rule until India's independence in 1947.
Post-Independence Period: After independence, Odisha became a state in the Indian Union on April 1, 1936. The princely states of Odisha were merged with the province of Odisha to form the present-day state. Since then, Odisha has made significant progress in various fields, including education, infrastructure, and industry. It has also witnessed socio-political movements for the rights of tribal communities and backward classes.
Odisha is known for its rich cultural heritage, art, music, dance, and literature. The Odissi classical dance form originated in the temples of Odisha and is one of the most prominent classical dance forms in India. The state is also famous for its vibrant festivals like Rath Yatra, Durga Puja, and Konark Dance Festival.
Overall, Odisha's history is a tapestry of ancient kingdoms, architectural marvels, colonial influence, and a vibrant cultural legacy.

Cuttack is home to some of the most important Durga Puja celebrations in the country. If you're looking for an incredible display of color, music, and pageantry, you won't want to miss the celebrations of Durga Puja at Cuttack.
Durga Puja At Cuttack
Introduction Durga Puja typically takes place over a period of five days in the month of October. On the first day of the festival, an image of Goddess Durga is installed in homes and temples. Offerings and prayers are made to the Goddess throughout the five-day period. The festival culminates with a grand procession called the Durga Visarjan, in which the image of the Goddess is taken to a nearby body of water and immersed. Durga Puja is a joyous occasion that is celebrated by Hindus all over the world. It is a time to give thanks to the Goddess for her protection. History of Durga Puja at Cuttack Durga Puja, also known as Sharadotsav, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. The festival is observed during the month of October and November, and it is one of the most important Hindu festivals in India. The festival is particularly significant in the state of Odisha, where it is celebrated with great pomp and fanfare. Durga Puja at Cuttack has been celebrated for over 200 years. The first Durga Puja was organized by the ruler of the then princely state of Odisha, Maharaja Jagannath Gajapati. Since then, the festival has become an integral part of the city's cultural heritage. Cuttack is known for its grand and festive Durga Puja celebrations, which attract visitors from all over the world. The Celebrations of Durga Puja at Cuttack Durga Puja is a nine-day Hindu festival that celebrates the goddess Durga. It is one of the most important Hindu festivals and is widely celebrated in India and Bangladesh. The festival is also known as Durgotsava or Sharadotsav. Durga Puja is celebrated in the month of October and typically lasts for 10 days. The first day of the festival is known as Mahalaya, which marks the beginning of the festivities. On this day, Hindus all over the world perform special puja (worship) ceremonies to commemorate the goddess Durga. The following days are devoted to the worship of Durga and her nine forms. On the ninth day, known as Maha Navami, Hindus offer special prayers and conduct puja to the goddess. The tenth and final day of the festival is known as Vijayadashami. Why you should Visit Cuttack for Durga Puja Durga Puja is one of the most popular festivals in India and it is celebrated with great pomp and circumstance in the city of Cuttack. If you're looking for a place to celebrate the festival, Cuttack is the perfect option. The city comes alive during Durga Puja, with numerous pandals and celebrations taking place. Cuttack is also a great place to experience traditional Indian culture. During the festival, you can enjoy delicious food, music, dance, and more. If you're looking for an authentic Indian festival experience, Cuttack is the place to be. Things to Keep in Mind If you are planning on visiting Cuttack for the Durga puja festival, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First and foremost, be respectful of the religious ceremonies and traditions. Cuttack is a Hindu majority city, and the Durga puja festival is a very important time for the Hindu community. Avoid taking pictures of religious ceremonies or of people without their permission, and be sure to dress modestly out of respect for the religious customs. Secondly, be aware of your surroundings. Cuttack can be a crowded city, and pickpocketing is not uncommon. Keep your valuables close to you and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Conclusion The ten-day festival of Durga Puja at Cuttack is one of the most anticipated occasions in the state of Odisha. The puja is celebrated in honor of the goddess Durga, who is worshipped in her ten-day incarnation. The festival culminates in a grand finale called Vijayadashami when the goddess is worshipped in her full form. Cuttack is one of the most popular destinations for Durga Puja in Odisha. The city comes alive during the festival, with colorful pandals (temporary shrines) and effigies of the goddess Durga being set up all over. Thousands of devotees flock to Cuttack to take part in the festivities and catch a glimpse of the goddess. Durga Puja at Cuttack is a truly magical experience. Read the full article

Choice of Wedding Outfit depends on the Functions
The various functions held in conjunction with the nuptials are diverse. It is recommended that you dress appropriately for the occasion. Your outfit selection should be based on the function and socially acceptable dress codes, and should range from strictly traditional ensembles to new-age designer wear.
Tumblr media
Ganesh Puja/ Tilak
The wedding ceremony is usually preceded by a Ganesh Puja, Shanti Havan, or Tilak ceremony. Your attire for the semi-formal event should be simple and comfortable. Because the ceremony may include a bonfire, cotton fabrics and loose-fitting garments are preferable. Lightweight printed or minimally embroidered kurta with dhoti or south Indian white lungi for men or roomy palazzo suits for women are ideal choices for the occasion.
Haldi ceremony
The Haldi ceremony is a messy but delightful event where you must choose your outfit very carefully. The bride and groom's faces are smeared with turmeric paste during the ritual. As a result, your party-wear garment may develop permanent yellow stains, rendering it useless. Yellow outfits are a good choice for two reasons: they conceal the messy appearance of turmeric stains, and yellow has almost become the official colour code for the Haldi ceremony. You can choose artificial flower jewellery or street-style tassel earrings as accessories because you won't be disappointed if you discard them later!
Mehendi party
The Mehendi function is one of the most joyous events of an Indian wedding, with hands decorated with henna designs and the scent of eucalyptus oil in the air. Although nowadays both the bride's and groom's families host a Mehendi party for their guests, it was traditionally only a function for the bride's family and friends. The atmosphere is bright and lively, with wedding music and dancing. Pink and pastels are popular colour palettes for Mehendi, but you can use any colour you want.
Sangeet
If you're going to an Indian wedding, the Sangeet is an event you won't want to miss! The Sangeet function, a melodious evening with enthusiastic dance performances by family and friends, matches the main wedding ceremony in terms of audience energy. Typically, the dress code is ethnic, with a lot of bling and dazzle.
Ring Ceremony
The exchange of rings between the couple a day or two before the wedding is a western culture ritual. Ring ceremonies are typically devoid of cultural elements and may resemble a cocktail party. It's more like an evening ball, with the bride wearing a fairy-tale designer gown and the groom dressed as a prince charming. Grooms can wear a suit with an elegant Indo-western combination botton in flattering fabrics such as satin, georgette, and silk.
Wed-Lock ceremony/ Pheras
The Indian wed-lock ceremony is a beautiful moment to witness, with seven circles and seven vows. It strictly involves a series of religious rituals, so the dress code is strictly traditional wear. Avoid western silhouettes as much as possible and look for Indian outfits with graceful details.
Reception
The reception is a formal post-wedding celebration in which relatives, friends, and associates walk up to a decorated stage or highlighting backdrop and bless the newlywed couple. You may have to elevate your look to meet such a glittering crowd by indulging in heavy wedding wear. Unless otherwise specified by the host, there is usually no dress code at the reception. As a result, you can dress in either traditional or Indo-western attire like silk kurta over cotton vest with silk pyjama. Whatever outfit you choose, make sure it has a lot of glitter or dazzle.
Post-wedding functions
The bride changes from Miss to Mrs, and the family members are exhausted by this point, but the fun doesn't stop there! Following the reception, the girl bids farewell to her parents' family and returns to her husband's home. For this ritual, a Gujarati bride typically wears a Gharchola, which is also known as Gruh-Pravesh in many communities. The Muh-dikhai is also a post-wedding function where the bride meets for the first time her husband's extended family and social circle.
These rituals are performed on a larger scale in smaller Indian cities, whereas the fast-paced urban lifestyle has resulted in many of these functions being combined or simply avoided entirely. However, if you're going to any such intimate gatherings, you can dress up in a semi-formal salwar suit. You can also experiment with your look by wearing a fusion outfit that is both comfortable and easy to wear!
It's time to enjoy the festivities after you've sorted your look for each of the functions!
