I think I’m feeling okay enough to start following Critical Role and Taliesin related tags again.

In other news: Clay. What a lovely boy.

But somehow Burner!Pumat gives me a vague “Professor Chronotis” vibe, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s probably just in my head, because the introduction of the characters was so similar: the party seeking aid comes upon a dotty and kindly-seeming but somewhat unnerving hermit in his lonely little sanctum and joins him for tea before convincing him to join in their adventures...

I mean, I have faith in Tal not to pull the same trick twice, but still.

No, this isn’t Critical Role related. It’s Doctor Who related because I have fallen in love with the game Eric holds every friday, a game which Matt and Taliesin (but mostly Taliesin) have appeared on.

Eric’s TBD RPG over on the same channel we all know and love. I can’t recommend it enough if you are a Doctor Who fan. Amy Dallen does an amazing job as the doctor, and Tal...well Taliesin is appropriately Taliesin. Lets just call him Professor Chronotis for now to avoid spoilers. 

Matt, as you may know, is the fucking ripped Ood named Meat Stick and I love him soooo much.

Also Rokokokokokokokoko and Finn are best couple. 

Ciliain...Silian...Cillian? I don’t know how to spell his name. But he is a very interesting companion and really just can’t handle the literal weight of the universe on his shoulders. It’s a lot for the electrician to take in man. The Doctor tries to comfort him, but...yeah that boy has seen things.

That Scene™  in Eric’s TBD RPG episode 13.

Eric: You and River Song are standing in front of Tezekiel. He has his bodyguards filtering out of the room as well. The one he has stay in is a very large man who's carrying what looks like a shotgun. He's got this smug look on his face, like he knows he could kill everybody if he wanted to.

Eric: The moment the words come out of your mouth, and you point to the one on the left, River's face goes completely blank. She quickdraws her gun and puts a bullet in the bodyguard's head. He didn't even see it coming. The bodyguard drops as brains splatter all over the bulkhead behind him. Tezekiel jumps up. There’s a gun on the desk. It looks like he’s gonna go for it.

Eric: He slowly sits back into his chair.

Eric: His eyes widen, for a second. He nods slowly, says, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." You see him pull out a data pad and paper, and he types it, and he writes it. Signs his name to it.

Chronotis: Now, River, you're going to remember this going very well. That Professor Chronotis was very kind. Everything has been worked out quite well, and you're quite impressed with my negotiating skills. And that I'm merely a simple Time Lord enjoying his retirement.

Hi there! Taliesin appears in the following episodes:

12-19, 24

Shield of Tomorrow episodes 40 & 41 (This is a crossover with the group's Star Trek campaign, but it does continue the Eric's TBD RPG story. Taliesin appears at the very end of episode 40.)

Eric's TBD RPG Holiday Special

The entire show can be watched either on Twitch (subscription required) or on Youtube (for free).

I would recommend for anyone interested that they start at the first episode, even though I initially started with episode 12 myself, because I ended up rewatching the whole thing from the beginning anyway. The story and players really are all wonderful.
