3 and 31 for the dw ask game!
3. First DW episode you ever saw?
I'm fairly certain the first episode I ever witnessed was Boom Town because I have a distinct memory of walking past the TV and my dad had the scene on where Nine, Rose, Mickey, and Jack are standing by the TARDIS in Cardiff.
31. Favorite episode ever?
That's an incredibly cruel question! I will keep it limited to TV episodes rather than all stories ever then again even that doesn't make it much easier. Hmmmmm OKAY first episode that immediately came to mind was Shada. To elaborate, I will say the reason it's my favorite isn't because of the history behind it (though it is fascinating) but because I genuinely enjoy the story, the lore that it brings up, the character of Professor Chronotis and his Type 12 TARDIS, and of course, Romana II is one of my favorite companions.

Edge-Lord President | Taliesin Jaffe in Eric’s TBD RPG
Ten minutes and forty-eight seconds. There were eleven minutes and forty-one seconds between the time the tea shop called to let me know that you were on your way to my house, and the time which you knocked upon my door. In that time, I spent fifty-three seconds putting the kettle on to boil and setting up a tea service. Can you imagine what I could do to ensure my safety with the remaining ten minutes and forty-eight seconds?

I know I'm a big "what if EU/Classic character!?!?!" Theory enjoyer and proposer
But with Gallifrey gone rn, I would also LOVE if we started getting new Renegades. Or Time-War deserters. Or people who managed to flee from Gallifrey, before one of their now numerous extinction events.
Maybe coming out of hiding, because if whatever the Toymaker did could happen, then Gallifrey is definitely not in power anymore.
If Jinx Monsoon's characters was a more chaotic renegade who took advantage of the universe's shift into fantasy. Or Mrs. Flood was a renegade/survivor who was hiding out on earth away from it all, ala Professor Chronotis. Potentially watching over whoever/whatever Ruby is.
Then maybe over the next few series they could introduce more and more random Gallifreyan's scattered across the universe. Some deadly, some just living out their lives, maybe even a few 'hybrids'. Gallifrey gone but the people living on.
Idk I just think it would be neat.

*Doctor Who fans, please note I'm using Time Lord and Gallifreyan interchangably here, if you want to argue with me about it that's fine, one of these characters cannon species is shakey but I specifically wanted to include them, basically, if you can argue a character is from Gallifrey, they are not misplaced on the list
the correct answer is below the cut, DO NOT LOOK UNTIL YOU HAVE VOTED!
There is no Time Lord named Hadrojassicmaxarodenfoe, I took the name from a different Doctor Who alien, the Mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxarodenfoe, a large purple blob of a alien who lives in the ceiling of the top floor of a satellite controlling Earth's news, here are the rest
Romanadvoratrelundar AKA Romana:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
travelled with the doctor for almost three full seasons, complete with a regeneration into a new actress
Morbius:
Tumblr media
you may have known Morbius as a real character in Doctor Who, but did you know he looks like this in his one televised appearance The Brain of Morbius, a serial disturbingly important to Doctor Who continuity as it gave us The Morbius Doctors, hand waved away as future incarnations of the Doctor of Morbius' regenerations until 2020's The Timeless Child confirmed them as the Doctor 44 years later
Omega:
Tumblr media
What's under the mask you ask... Absolutely nothing, Omega has no physical body, he remains alive through only insisting he exists
Rassilon:
Tumblr media
Look, I have been a fan of Doctor Who since I could walk, and there's still no way I could explain Rassilon even to myself, he is whatever the story needs. Dead, alive, good, evil, maybe I just don't pay enough attention but I do not understand him one bit
Drax:
Tumblr media
A time and space travelling mechanic
The Meddling Monk:
Tumblr media
its a crime he's only in one televised story
Susan Foreman
Tumblr media
The Doctor's granddaughter and original companion, this is the character who's species is not clear, because she left long before the Time Lords or their planet, Gallifrey, even existed in the show
Professor Chronotis
Tumblr media
apologies to any Dirk Gently fans who were caught out by this one. In the late 1970s, Douglas Adams was the script editor for Doctor Who, he wrote a story called Shada, which they started filming, but due to strike action never completed, Douglas Adams repurposed many of the ideas he had for Shada into his other works, most notably Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency, Professor Chronotis being one of them, a time traveller teaching at a university. You may be wondering why I include character from a story that was never televised, but Shada has so many reconstructions and adaptations in other Doctor Who media its now more easily accessible than many episodes from the 1960s

ROUND 1 MASTERPOST
synopses and propaganda under the cut
Doom’s Day Hour 1
Synopsis
Doom has 24 hours to live after a complication on New Venice. This is how her story begins...
Someone has sent literal Death after Doom. Unless she can find the Doctor she is gonna meet certain doom. Only Terri can help her with that, if Doom can persuade her.
Propaganda
It's fun and trying something different. Moffat told all about the Doctor's reputation across time and space, but we mostly see the negative reaction, not the positive, and the perspective of someone trying to find the doctor is a great concept. (anonymous)
An Adventure in Space and Time
Synopsis
A young producer frustrated by British television's glass ceiling, a new executive at the British Broadcasting Corporation, a young director of Indian descent, and an older actor struggling for artistic legitimacy come together in 1963 to start a brand new television programme called Doctor Who. After initial difficulties, the show becomes a hit, leaving the actor alone to carry on the show's traditions — and to face his increasingly ailing health.
Propaganda no propaganda submitted
Shada 1992 (version with linking narration by Tom Baker playing a future Doctor)
Synopsis
This is Shada again but with linking narration by a future version of the Doctor played by Tom Baker between the parts they filmed back in 1979
Propaganda
This one has linking narration by unknown incarnation of the Doctor played by Tom Baker.(anonymous)
Shada (animated reconstruction)
Synopsis
Shada: a prison built by the Time Lords for defeated would-be conquerors of the universe. A scientist named Skagra needs the help of one of the prison's inmates. He finds nobody knows where Shada is anymore, except one aged Time Lord who has retired to Earth, where he is a professor at St Cedd's College. Luckily for the universe, Skagra's attempt to force the information out of Professor Chronotis coincides with a visit by the professor's old friend, the Fourth Doctor.
Propaganda no propaganda submitted
Return to Shada (webcast version with 8)
Synopsis
Where the Fourth Doctor left off, the Eighth Doctor comes to finish the job. With Romana and K9 by his side, they have to stop the evil Skagra. (<- I believe this has the same plot as Shada, but with a different Doctor)
Propaganda
this probably falls under the umbrella of shada since there are so many versions of it this one is just my favorite (anonymous)
Shada but eight is in it. Also Romana is President. And Skagra is for some reason no longer sexy young gay man but a gay GILF, sadly his hat and disco nature died in the transition.(anonymous)

"Shada" is an adventure originally conceived as the last of the seventeenth season of the classic "Doctor Who" series but never broadcast. It's a six-part adventure written by Douglas Adams and directed by Pennant Roberts in the original parts and by Charles Norton in the ones filmed in 2017.
The story
Skagra is mentally connected to a group of people. He wakes up, breaks contact, and then abandons them on the space station, from which he departs. His goal is to find Salyavin, a Time Lord condemned to be locked up in the Shada Prison, whose location is top secret.
The Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and Romana II (Lalla Ward) go to Cambridge to see Chronotis, a Time Lord who took up residence at the university as a professor. Chronotis intends to return a book brought from Gallifrey that holds arcane powers connected to the ancient times of his civilization. He realizes that the book was borrowed by Chris Parsons, a student who realizes its oddities by examining it together with his friend Clare Keightle.

Fond Memories, a Doctor Who fanfiction
The Doctor strolled through the Panopticon. A slight breeze ruffled his long brown hair. Smiling, he took out his pocket watch. It was always exactly the same time. A time where he was happy. A time where he was safe. A time where he was loved. The Time Lord heard running footsteps behind him. Grace. She bounded up to him and gave him a peck on the lips.
“What do you think of my home?” said the Doctor, still smiling.
“It’s…”
Grace laughed.
“It’s beautiful.”
“Isn’t it just. The Daleks have seemingly vanished from the face of the cosmos, and the universe has never been more peaceful.”
“Oi, Professor!”
The Doctor turned. Ace was there. She was wearing Time Lord robes and had in her hands a shimmering silver scroll.
“I passed Professor. I’m a Time Lord now.”
“That’s wonderful!” cried the Doctor.
“Old Doc. Chronotis says I can visit Perivale whenever I want. But I’ve got a lot of stuff still here to do.”
“That man never changes.” laughed the Doctor.
“I say, Doctor, is that you?”
The Doctor looked around. Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart stood before him, smiling.
“Planet Earth is safer than it has ever been thanks to you, Doctor. Just last week we declared world peace.”
“That’s wonderful.” said the Doctor.
A gigantic fanfare of trumpets startled the Doctor and his friends. Rassilon strode through the Panopticon accompanied by a guard of honour. Upon seeing the Doctor his face erupted into a dazzling grin.
“Theta Sigma, you have distinguished yourself as Gallifrey’s greatest and most worthy offspring.” he said.
“For this reason I am pleased to confer upon you the Freedom of All Space and Time!”
The Doctor grinned.
“That’s excellent news!”
Rassilon inclined his head slightly.
“I believe that there are others among us who wish to speak with you.”
Before the Doctor’s eyes were Leela and Narvin. They embraced the Doctor in a group hug.
“Doctor I – we – would be most honoured if you were to attend our upcoming wedding.” said Leela.
“Leela, Leela, of course, I’d be only too happy to.” said the Doctor.
“Doctor.”
He would have known that voice anywhere. No matter if he had lived to outlast reality itself, the voice of his best friend would always bring him home.
“Hello Sarah Jane.” said the Doctor.
“I’m back.” said Sarah Jane.
“And I’m never going to leave you again.”
“Grandfather!”
Susan ran across the Panopticon’s beautiful floors. The Doctor swept her up in a hug.
“Susan! Not a day older than when I last saw you!”
The Doctor’s friends and family surrounded him in a semicircle. Everyone was smiling. Everyone was happy. Everything was perfect.
“This never happened.”
The woman was dressed in Karn Sisterhood robes. She moved inexorably towards the Doctor like approaching nightfall.
“I’m sorry. What never happened?” said the Doctor.
The woman gestured to the Doctor’s loved ones.
“This. All of this. It was just a comforting fantasy that I created in your mind.”
“I don’t know who you are, but I’d like you to leave now please.” said the Doctor.
“You have my most sincere apologies.” said the woman.
“For what?” said the Doctor.
As the Doctor watched the people around him faded away like ghosts. He was alone on a battlefield littered with burnt out Dalek casings. In the distance Gallifrey’s citadel burned.
The Doctor sank to his knees. Tears leaked from his eyelids.
“Why?” he whispered.
“Why?!” he exclaimed.
“WHY?!” he yelled to the red sky.
“Because you deserve some measure of happiness.” said the woman.
“Because over the coming centuries you will remember many, many times. And you will think to yourself; if I just remember hard enough I might be able to change what has happened.”
“Leave me!” snarled the Doctor.
The woman bowed her head and vanished.
***
Deep inside the Sisterhood’s cave, Ohila regarded the Time Lord lying seated before her. The Dream Crab had successfully induced a healing trance, as Ohila hoped it would. All that remained now was to bring her patient back to the real world. Gently, with infinite care, Ohila removed the Dream Crab from the Doctor’s head. He stayed slumped in front of her for what seemed like eternity. Then he stirred and sat up.
“Cass!”

"But if no private detective looks like a private detective, how does a private detective know what it is he's supposed not to look like?"
This art was a real challenge for me. This is one of my longest projects, and I'm glad I was able to finally let it go (because I could fix it ad infinitum)

God I love watching Classic Who and hearing the show inadvertently retcon itself, it's always amusing!
Watching The Time Meddler for the first time I know shame on me for taking so long and hearing the Monk refer to his time ship as a Mark 4, and how he can't imagine how the Doctor could mess with it, made me do a double take.
A Mark 4? A Mark 4? If that's a Mark 4 then what the hell happened to make Professor Chronotis' Type 12 so janky?

HECK.
I just realized--since Mike and Psmith went to Cambridge, that means they overlap with Douglas Adams’s absent-minded Time-Lord-in-hiding Professor Chronotis!
Ohhh, I’d love to see Psmith try to get to grips with him...
Which almost certainly means I’ll have to write it. Someday. ;-P

per my last post, over the course of the last great time war, the celestial intervention agency realized friendly, befuddled old professor chronotis was the master mind thief salyavin, kidnapped him from st. cedds, gave him a new regeneration cycle, and lost track of him long enough for him to wipe their memories of the affair and escape...
no less than forty-two times
even factoring in all the times he regenerated during his escapes, he could still hand regenerations out to passing time lords like candy and have a few to spare
