Control Z Season 3, Episode 4 Characters
My character opinions so far:
Sophia. I don't claim her.
She got back together with the guy who KIDNAPPED her and she knew.
She is playing both Javier and Raúl.
Javier is my golden boi and I don't care what he does I will still like him. I mean he already killed two people. It can't get any worse from here.
When he was in the hospital he must of got brain damage because Season 1 Javi and Season 2 Javi were not the same person.
Also, let Sofia go because Javi doesn't trust her. I DEFINITELY don't trust her dude.
He said don't say anything drastic, don't mess up, when talking to Claudia. Then she proceeds to mess it up. From Season ONE Javier has been better at talking to girls. Sofia is to blunt.
I don't trust Javi's driving tho. Season 1 man. He STILL driving his sister's(?) car.
Raúl is still on my good side.
I know Season 1 happened. Bad stuff just keeps happening to him tho and since he's miserable I like him.
But he gotta let Sofia go man. It's been sad for 3 seasons now.
Natalia is still the same character she's always been.
Still don't like her but at least she's still her. She just doesn't deserve Javier. No one does.
Also she gonna act like Javi was in the wrong. [Cough, you slept with his dad, and you knew it was his dad, cough cough]
Can I mention that Sophia and Natalia have the same type? I find that funny.
Maria is not dead
Stop playing. She's not just gonna die off screen. That's lame. No way Control Z gonna be that lame.
I like her btw. She's just a little boring to me.
Pablo is not my cup of tea.
He picks a girl and makes that his entire storyline. Literally. Get a life. Learn a skill.
He's so boring on his own.
Rosita makes me roll my eyes.
I liked her season 1, girlboss. Season 2, her plotline was just for laughs. I did not find it funny.
Season 3. Her plotline, I just don't care. I never wanted them together because she never cared as much as him dude.
Gerry!!! I love him. He deserves the world.
He's grown as a character so much.
But we finna pretend he didn't kiss Raúl and Raúl has been stuck on him ever since.
Season 2, Ep 1, on Raúl's BIRTHDAY! (Birthdays are very important to me) 'Gerry no, don't go. You know it was me. Gerry please man.' Then at the hotel(?) they were waiting at the front desk and Raúl looked at Gerry and Gerry smiled. I screamed. That gave me so much joy.
They won't do it but Raúl/Gerry.
Alex. They ruined her.
Season 2 Alex never existed. That wasn't Alex. That's someone else wearing Alex's skin. I've already talked about this.
Also the student-teacher thing, I don't support and let's leave it at that.
Still want the best for Alex. If I can support Raúl and Javier, I can support Alex.
Bruno's back!!!
I love him. He's charismatic.
I cried when he wasn't in season 2. Glad he's back.
Sofia black mailing Bruno. No go. Not vibing.
Claudia is okay.
I don't like we created a whole new character to fulfill Isa's role to a degree but I'm glad they're their own person now.
Student-teacher thing... Stop. Ew.
I want Claudia/Maria but it don't look like it going that way.

“The Savior Sessions” Part 12 of 33 - Negan x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
SERIES MASTERLIST
Summary: Part 12! When the reader finds out that Rosita is hurt and Eugene is missing, they leave for Hilltop in a hurry to help. With the help of old friends and new, they find themselves at the beginning of a war they never could have imagined. Meanwhile, back in Alexandria, Negan is left to his own devices. Takes place within 9x07 “Stradivarius”
Word Count: 2959
Warning: None
Song I Wrote To: “Hit The Ground Running” by Alice Merton
Note: As I mentioned in a part, I am sticking pretty close to canon for the Whisperer War so if you have not caught up from season 9 all the way through the recent episode of season 10, there will be spoilers for it. Also, I never expected this series to evolve so much so a lot more of the story will be told from the reader POV, but don’t worry Negan will have a POV as well. I’m going to give both sides throughout! Also: timing is different, I changed a few things to fit the plot.
---------
“Do you know what confuses me?” Negan asked.
“A lot?” you offered and he hit you with his pillow. You were hanging out in Negan’s cell, the keys hooked to your belt. When Gabriel and Michonne had assigned you to be his therapist, they never said anything about you not being allowed inside the cell with him.
Even if they didn’t like it, you were still going to do it. The two of you were sitting side by side on the cot, staring at the stone ceiling together.
“Can I finish what I was going to say?” he asked. You gestured for him to continue. “I was going to say, why do we call them Walkers?”
“Because they walk?” you offered. You didn’t really know where it came from, but Rick had called the Dead that once and it just sort of stuck within the group. It was easier than saying the Dead all the time.
“We don’t call people, breathers,” Negan noted.
“Yeah, because they are people, Negan,” you reminded him, looking over at him.
“So are Walkers,” he said.
“Not really,” you said with a dismissive scoff. “They cease to exist as soon as they turn. They’re just shells.”
“If I turned, is that how you would see me?” he asked.
“I don’t want to talk about that,” you said quietly.
“About what? Me becoming a Walker. It could happen one day, (Y/N),” Negan said.
“I know that, but I would rather not think of you with white eyes and…” you trailed off, taking a breath trying to stay calm. “Don’t make me think about that.” You felt Negan take your hand and you slipped your fingers through his, letting the firm grip comfort you.
“I’m sorry,” he said softly. “I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“Not your fault,” you told him. “You know me, I get all doom and gloom.”
“Welcome to the club,” he sighed. “You know you’re allowed to feel like that, right? All doom and gloom,” he teased with a bump to your shoulder.
“I know,” you said, leaning into him. Any time either of you initiated physical contact, it felt weird and good at the same time. You weren’t sure if anything was going to go any further at this point, but any time he reached for your hand or brushed his knuckles across your cheek, it made you absolutely melt inside.
A yawn escaped you before you could help it. “You should go get some sleep,” he whispered. You nodded but had no intention of moving. “(Y/N)…” he said and you sunk down further on the cot. “You can’t stay here.”
“Says who?” you argued.
“Me,” Negan said, “you snore.” You smacked his chest.
“I do not,” you argued.
“Come on, Teach,” he said, a new nickname he had come up with, “you don’t need to be sleeping in a cage. Not you.” Knowing he wouldn’t let up, you relented and sat up with a frown.
“Fine, but I won’t be happy about it,” you said.
“I would hope not,” Negan said with a wink.
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow,” you said, pulling your hand from his slowly.
“I’ll be here,” he promised. With a last look, you unlocked the cage door and secured it behind you. Waving goodnight to him, you headed out of the cell and up onto the street, ready for some decent dreams for once. Considering the feeling in your stomach from your evening with Negan, you figured that may happen after all.
--------
It felt way too early to be saddling up a horse.
When Michonne had knocked on your door early that morning you were less than thrilled to be greeted by your fearless leader. She explained that she was going to be taking the newcomers to Hilltop and that she was worried about the cold greeting she knew she would be getting.
You didn’t really know what to tell the woman. You knew how Tara felt when she left Alexandria and you also knew that Michonne had pushed everyone in Hilltop away. Nonetheless, you agreed to keep an eye on things while she was gone and went to the main stable to hitch up the makeshift wagon.
With Yumiko, the injured woman with the new group, still being injured, they had to set out at a slow pace. As you ran your hand down the side of one of the larger horses, you could see Judith frowning at her mom in the distance. You knew she was upset that Michonne was going to Hilltop without her, but Michonne wasn’t planning on staying long.
Your mind began to wander then and so did your eyes. You searched for Rosita, but her dark hair was nowhere to be found. She had mentioned something about helping Eugene with something, but you hadn’t seen her since. Knowing Porter, he most likely dragged her out into the middle of nowhere.
Still, you would ask Michonne to keep an eye out just in case. While Rosita was opinionated and brash, she was also the one person next to Jesus, one of your closest friends, that you trusted to talk to. Then again, there was still one other person who you confided in, but Negan wasn’t the best choice when he was the topic you needed advice on.
-------
Once you managed to get the horses saddled and ready to go, you made your way over to the new group. You hadn’t had any time to actually talk to them for more than a few minutes, but they seemed nice enough and you were glad that Michonne was giving them a chance at Hilltop.
As you approached, you noticed Judith attempting to do some sign language. With a small laugh, you placed your hand on her shoulder and she looked up at you with a goofy grin.
“I’m trying,” she said with a wrinkle of her nose.
“You’ll get it,” you assured her before turning to the woman you knew as Connie. “It was nice to meet you,” you signed much to her and Judith’s surprise. Connie smiled at you and stood from her kneeling position to shake your hand.
“You too,” Connie signed back and you nodded to her as well as the woman you knew to be her sister.
“You gotta teach me that,” Judith whispered as you took a few steps back from the wagon as they began loading up.
“I got you, kid,” you promised, hooking her pinky with yours. As Michonne mounted her horse, she nodded to you and you returned the gesture. Waving to her daughter, Michonne and the others lead the newcomers out of Alexandria to start the trek to Hilltop.
-------
It was much later when you found Judith alone. “Come on,” you said, “how about you and I get some training in?”
“Don’t you have things to do?” Judith asked, confused.
“I always got time for you, Jude,” you said. “Also, who else is going to teach me how to use a blade if not you?” you teased, and she beamed up at you before running to get the practice swords Daryl had made for her a couple of years before.
Since guns were not as readily available, you had to pick up hand to hand pretty quickly. You were never bad per se, but you were always better from a distance. Daryl had tried to teach you to use his bow and while you could when you had to, you never felt comfortable with arrows or bolts.
Instead, you began observing Michonne and Judith’s sessions. Whenever you went to see Jesus or he ventured over to Alexandria, he would spar with you as well. As you twirled the wooden sword in your hand, you wondered what it would be like to spar with Negan.
You weren’t sure how skilled he was in a fight when it came to specifics. Of course, you had seen him go after Rick and kill Walkers, but intricate fighting was a lot different than just swinging a baseball bat.
Trying to stay focused on the task at hand, you circled the young girl, blocking her strikes. Considering how small Judith was, it was a challenge to get your own hits in, but you managed to work up a bit of a sweat as you practiced. Eventually, she collapsed on the ground with a dramatic sigh.
“Why is it so hot?” she asked, pulling her hat off to shake out her hair.
“Because you’re working hard, Jude,” you said, joining her on the grass.
“You’re getting really good,” she complimented.
“Why thank you, Jedi Master,” you joked and she looked at you confused. “Nevermind,” you said. “You know, I may have to get one of the blacksmiths to make me a sword of my own. Might be a bit better than the knives I carry now.”
“One like Mom’s?” Judith asked.
“Oh, definitely not!” you said with a laugh. “I think you and your mom have the exclusive rights to those beauties. Maybe something a bit smaller, a short sword kind of thing.”
“I think that would fit you,” Judith said after consideration.
“You see Rosita anywhere?” you asked her, looking around again.
“No, sorry,” Judith said, placing her hat back on her head. “(Y/N), can I ask you something?” she asked.
“Of course,” you said, giving her your full attention.
“Do you think we’ll ever all be together again?” Judith asked.
“What do you mean?”
“We never talk to the others anymore. Hilltop, Oceanside, even The Kingdom. I haven’t seen Aunt Carol in so long,” she said sadly. “I miss them.”
“I know, kid,” you said, dreading the conversation. You didn’t think you were the person who should be talking to her about this. “I think that one day we’ll all be back together. Hopefully sooner than later.”
“Uncle Daryl, too?” she asked, looking up at you with those big eyes of hers.
“Yeah, your Uncle too,” you whispered with a small smile. Judith nodded, wiping at her eyes when suddenly she sat up straight. “What is it?”
“That’s not one of our horses,” Judith said as she stood. Turning to where her eyes were aimed, you saw what had caught her attention. A rider had arrived at Alexandria and you recognized them immediately.
They were from Hilltop.
“Stay here,” you told Judith as you got to your feet and jogged over to the stables. Gabriel was already there. “What’s going on?” you asked the Father as soon as you approached.
“Rosita,” Gabriel said, frozen where he stood. You placed a hand on his shoulder.
“What happened?” you asked the Hilltop rider.
“We found her,” they said, “she’s hurt and Eugene is missing.”
“What do you mean he’s missing?” you asked, taking charge of the situation just as Michonne would have wanted.
“I don’t know, but that’s all we got out of her before she passed out.”
“(Y/N),” Gabriel began, but didn’t get much more out. You knew what he was asking and you didn’t need to be asked twice.
“Saddle a horse for me, Gabe, I’m riding for Hilltop.”
------
Just before heading out, you stopped by the cell to explain what was going on.
“So, you’re leaving?” Negan asked as he stood at the bars, his arms crossed. “Alone?”
“This is not my first time riding to Hilltop and I am going back with the escort. We’re going to ride fast so I can help with the search. I know those woods and surrounding areas well.”
“And what if whatever or whoever that hurt Rosita is still out there?”
“Then we will deal with it. I’m not going out alone, but Gabriel needs me to go and I have to go help them. I can’t just sit here.”
“I thought Michonne and Siddiq were already going?” he asked.
“They’re pulling the wagon and they had to make some stops to pick up the new group’s things. I can get there faster on horseback.”
“So help me, (Y/N), if you do anything stupid and get hurt…” he said, bracing his hands on the bars. You put yours on top of his.
“I will be fine. I think you forget that I’ve been a skilled fighter for years now. I know how to handle myself against the Walkers and the Breathers,” you said with a wink. He smiled at that. “When I get back, I’ll come to see you first, I promise.”
Negan was quiet for a moment, but then said, “Please be careful.”
“Always,” you promised and then reached up and paced your hand against his cheek. “I’ll be home soon.”
“I’ll be waiting,” he said as you took a step back, and with a final look at him as if you were trying to memorize his face you turned your back and headed for your horse.
--------
You, along with the Hilltop escort, rode hard towards the community.
All you could think about was Rosita and what the hell had happened. Ro was a fierce fighter and Eugene was brilliant. Whatever had gotten the jump on them had you worried.
Your mind went back to a conversation you had had with Negan. He had asked you what you thought was out there and you didn’t have an answer. There was a part of you now that had a feeling you were about to find out.
It took a while to reach Hilltop, but when you did, the doors pulled open as your horses turned up the long road to the community. Diane was on watch and the surprised look on her face as you rode in was enough to make you feel nervous. You hadn’t seen anyone outside Alexandria in a while and it was like going to a high school reunion and you didn’t like it.
However, your nerves were short-lived when you spotted a group of people saddling up horses and gearing up. You nearly crashed to the ground dismounting your horse when you saw a familiar vest.
A vest with wings.
“Daryl!” you called, walking toward him, trying to get your legs back beneath you. Turning at the sound of his name, Daryl spotted you immediately and ran for you. You didn’t hesitate to pull him into your arms. “Holy shit,” you said as you clutched at him, giving him a hug that could have crushed bones.
“Hey, (Y/N),” he said, pulling back. “What are ya doin’ here?” he asked.
“Hilltop told us what was goin’ on. I couldn’t just sit there while Ro was hurt and Eugene was missin’, could I?”
“Rosita told us where she stashed him,” Daryl explained.
“Stashed him?” you asked, confused.
“Not a lot of information right now, but we got an idea of where he is,” Daryl said and then his shoulders dropped a bit. “It’s damn good to see ya,” he said and you reached out and gripped his shoulder.
“I missed you too,” you said and he smiled. It was then that you noticed another member of your family had arrived at Hilltop as well. “Give me a second, yeah?”
“We’re leavin’ in a bit,” Daryl said and you nodded, walking past him and over to a woman with long white hair.
“Your Majesty,” you greeted and Carol looked up at you and her face split into a grin.
“Oh my god,” she said as she walked to you and gave you a big hug. “How are you?”
“Still kickin’,” you said and she rolled her eyes. You spoke to Carol for a while before Jesus exited Barrington House with an annoyed Tara following him. Jesus was dressed for battle and Tara was not thrilled about it.
You waited until Tara had stormed off before approaching Jesus, your arms crossed.
“You know,” you began, “pissing her off is never a good idea.”
“You...,” Jesus said as he turned to face you before his face split into a grin. “My God, I’ve missed you!” He didn’t hesitate to bring you in for a hug. You both relaxed in each other’s arms and it just felt right to be with him again. You knew it was your fault that you hadn’t gone to see him.
Just because Michonne had prevented others from going into Alexandria, that didn’t mean you couldn’t go and see the others. Seeing Daryl at Hilltop with Jesus and Tara began to take you back to the war and then your thoughts were being tugged back to Alexandria, back to him.
You couldn’t even think about what would happen if Daryl found out that you were getting cozy with his previous jailer. A part of you worried that he would be angry, but there was another side of you who thought that he would just not comment on it at all. Whenever Daryl was quiet around his family, you knew he was more than angry.
When Jesus let go of you, you noticed the blade on his belt. “That’s nice,” you complimented and he unsheathed it to show you.
“Been using her more and more lately,” he said proudly.
“I’ve been thinking of getting one myself,” you said and he raised a brow.
“Well, when you do, let me be the first to spar with you,” he offered.
“You got it,” you said with a smile.
“Hey!” Daryl called, “Are we goin’ or what? Ya can catch up later!” With a roll of his eyes, Jesus mounted a nearby horse and offered you his hand.
“Just like old times?” he asked and with a laugh, you joined him on the saddle and he took off after Daryl who was revving his bike. Just as you rode through the gates, you only hoped that you would be able to find Eugene in time.

Note: This one was supposed to be a bit longer but I split it because this week is a nightmare with the holiday and shit. I will get up 13 soon and add onto it. this one isn’t my favourite, but I needed to set up everything that is about to happen. Can you guess? Also, if anyone has any nickname ideas for the reader from Negan, I will gladly take them. GN! nicknames please!

Note
I respectfully disagree. Your articles have become increasingly negative over the last few months, as if you are discouraging fan creators, making them feel guilty for loving their fandom. You go looking for problems, in a fandom. I take issue with your statement that you are the only outlet that is positively supporting fan creators. You’re a bit full of yourself in that regard. You are definitely NOT the only outlet that supports those of us who create for the fandom community.
We’d like to apologize to our readers for this exceptionally long post.
We literally know of no one else who interviews fanfiction authors and treats them with any sort of respect. If there are other sites or communities, please let us know. We’d love to hear about them! As for the increasing negativity, see below for the actual statistics. You’ll see that your arguments do not hold up.
We began our Relaunch Week as we transitioned from The Lemon Magazine to The Citrus Scale.
“How Stranger Things Ruined My Life”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): The title is clearly a joke. It listed all the wonderful ways that the Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy have taught us that women are allowed to demand more of the media and entertainment they consume.
“Chaotic Neutrals: The Walking Dead Edition”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): For the purposes of this exercise, we’re going to say that all critical articles automatically equal negativity. We DO NOT feel this way, nor does any news and media organization, but we talk more about that at the end of this post.
Then we posted a game, a picture of the prize to win that day, and another game the next day.
“Please, Sir, Can I Have Some More?”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): Well, we will preface it by saying that it’s not at all positive if you are a white guy in entertainment who refuses to tell any story that isn’t their own and continually puts women down. If you, Anon, are one of the fanboys who whined and cried when Jodie Whittaker got cast as the new Doctor then #sorrynotsorry. We won’t apologize for calling people out for oppressing minority groups. Not now. Not ever.
“In Defense Of… Self-Inserts”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): It is literally “in defense of” self-inserts and authors who write them. The only thing remotely critical is at the end when we stay if you don’t like this type of work, you aren’t obligated to read it. As an overall tone, it is positive.
“When A Villain Can’t Be Redeemed: A Study In Severus Snape”
Tone: Negative
Note(s): We do not hide our disdain for Severus Snape and his routine abuse of children.
“Adapting Comics For The Screen”
Tone: Informational (Neutral)
Note(s): Again, the only thing that could be considered critical is at the end when we discuss oversaturation in the Marvel fandom and how exhausting such a catalogue of works can be, and that reader/viewer fatigue is very real and you are allowed to take a break if you need it.
“The Fight Against Fiction Censorship”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): We discuss how you, as the reader, should be curating your own experience and how characters are allowed to be morally gray. That these characters do not and should not be automatically deemed as representative of writers’ actual views on sensitive subject matters.
“Get Fridged, B*tch!: The Short Lives of Women in Supernatural”
Tone: Highly Critical
Note(s): We discuss the fact that in the show Supernatural specifically, most women are killed for the character development of their male counterparts. We point out that this is not okay and leads to the accepted convention that this is good writing and not, in fact, incredibly lazy and sloppy.
Then we did six posts, in a row, on our Instagram that were silly, funny, or light-hearted, but we’ll chalk those up to neutral even though they’re definitely more positive than anything. We did Signs as Quotes, Kiss. Marry. Kill., The Alphabet Game, and a D&D alignment chart with characters.
So, at the end of our relaunch week, we were at sixteen (16) informational or neutral, four (4) critical or negative, and three (3) positive, with only one being truly considered negative and not simply critical.
We began our Pensacon 2019 Convention Coverage. We featured three (3) cosplayers we met at the convention, linked their profiles, and not one of our questions was negative. Again, we won’t add them to our positive list, but they definitely count as us being supportive. We know we’re not the only who interviews cosplayers in a positive fashion, but there can always be more. We also included four (4) fanfiction authors. There were other informational, infographic, or neutral articles (like interviews), interspersed between these articles:
“Pensacon 2019 Intro Review” and the “Pensacon 2019 Wrap-Up Review”
Tone: Positive (x2)
Note(s): We had a blast at Pensacon, and will be returning next year as well. All our coverage was overwhelmingly positive.
“Using Fandom To Teach”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): The article states fun ways that you can include fandom in the classroom to help engage the students so they don’t automatically tune you out. It was also a small summary of the panel we saw at the convention, which is clearly referenced. However, all the ideas were original or credited appropriately.
We also had a TWD Trailer Reaction Video. As far as we know, there’s nothing to be seen as negative (unless we were talking about Rosita). If you really, really tried, you could count it negative though, since every single thing we said it in wasn’t nice to all the characters. For those keeping score, we’re at twenty-eight (28) informational or infographic, six (6) positive, and four (4) critical or negative.
We began our Marvel-themed month here. Honestly, we’re getting tired of linking most things, so here’s how Marvel month stacks up.
There were eighteen (18) informational articles or infographics, eleven (11) interviews, four (4) playlists, and two (2) games. This leaves us with thirty-five (35) neutral articles.
“AUs Becoming Original Fiction”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): This article featured information on how to possibly transform an AU fanfic into original fiction, if you so desire. It included examples of popular fiction that had done just that.
“Faithfulness in Adaptations”
Tone: Neutral
Note(s): We list the ways why it’s okay to like both and that one isn’t superior to the other.
“Being First Doesn’t Mean Going It Alone”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): It was written shortly after seeing Avengers: Endgame and was a glowing recommendation of the movie due to the girl power scene. However, upon further reflection we realized that thirty minutes of representation in an almost three hour movie isn’t as good as we thought it was and several other things caused the movie, as a whole, to miss the mark. As it relates to this article, though, it was positive.
“The MCU and Buffet-Style Representation”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): We criticize Marvel’s lack of representation and how they are continually putting down any fan interpretation that sees a character as homosexual. We do end it on a positive note by saying we’re going to hold out on passing final judgment since they are promising to do better soon. We’re middling at best here, so we’ll say critical.
“In Defense Of… Steve Rogers’ Happy Ending”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): We simply state that Steve is allowed to be happy and that him being miserable shouldn’t be his only real characterization or arc.
“The Importance of Fan Service”
Tone: PositiveNote(s): This one is about the importance of fans feeling like valued members of their community by original content creators, and how it only adds positively to the overall experience of fandom.
“Rule 34: The Rise of Super Sex”
Tone: Informational
Note(s): It doesn’t take a stance either way regarding how we, as an organization, feel about this practice, though it could be seen as more comedic since there are many, many sex puns.
“The Squick Factor: WinterPrincess”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): We break down a controversial ship in the Marvel fandom and explain why it shouldn’t be seen that way, based on the arguments given from inside the Marvel fandom itself.
“Trope Scope: The Isolation of Being Super”
Tone: Informational
Note(s): We explain the lonely superhero trope and how to use it in your own writing.
“All the Feels: Standing Up For What’s Right”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): It’s called ‘All the Feels’, so… yeah.
“Get Fridged, B*tch!: Marvel Edition”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): Again, we take a stance against using women as plot devices to further male character development. Marvel has a lot of characters, so it was easy to come up with examples. We’d like to note that we defend Stan Lee in this one as he wasn’t for fridging Gwen Stacy.
“You Need To Calm Down: And Other Advice From Taylor Swift”
Tone: Highly Critical
Note(s): We wrote an article in response to another from Hypable.com, where we defend binge-watching television, new or old, and list all the ways it isn’t a bad thing. As always, the responses and points in this article were well-researched and thought out.
“Women Behaving Badly: Why the Movie Hustlers Is Important”
Tone: Positive
Note(s): We can’t wait to see this movie and talk about why showing women doing the same thing as men, even if it isn’t prim and proper, is a good thing and helps us gain more equality in entertainment and in representation.
“#NoHomo YouTube Video”
Tone: Critical
Note(s): We take Marvel to task over Avengers: Endgame and we still have no desire to apologize for it. If you’d like to know why, please watch the video linked above. We can also send the talking points, if that makes it easier to follow.
So, at the end of six weeks, which brings us to today, we were at sixty-three (63) informational or infographic, twelve (12) positive to ten (10) critical or negative.
If you came to a different conclusion, we’d love to hear your reasons as to why. However, all we ask is that if you want to make accusations about our overall tone, you be able to back it up, as we did. It seems to us, and anyone paying attention, that we are overwhelmingly informational first. The problem seems to be that any time we are remotely critical of a character, original content creator, or a fandom, we are marked as negative. Which, frankly, is not true. We are a news and media organization. We are allowed to interpret things in a light other than positive. We will continue to bring our readers as much fandom-related content as possible and we promise to be truthful and to never sugarcoat anything. We also pledge to be respectful always.
If there are any other concerns, we urge you to send them to our ask box as this anon did. Understand, though, that critiquing us does not mean we will blow up, act foolish, or remain anything other than responsible fandom members. We have receipts to back up everything we do, so don’t assume we’ll take accusations lying down either. We welcome all criticism and will apologize where necessary. This just wasn’t one of those times.

Season 3 Rant
Ladies and gentlemen and everyone else out there who enjoys a good story.
Let’s address how much of a shitshow Wynonna Earp S3 is:
The lack of continuity.
You expect me to believe that 3 seasons equals a single year?
That things are progressing off-screen? There has been literally no evidence that anything has progressed off-screen coming into this season from the last besides Jeremy’s mustache.
Nor has anything progressed during this season.
Jeremy has a boyfriend? How cute, as part of the unkillable gay trio it was an inevitability. We all saw this coming.
Wyndoc coming together because the endgame of this season is to ultimately bring Alice back? You’re joking right?
Wayhaught does not count here; at this point it’s as much of a goddamn plot device as the “monster of the week” trope.
Plot holes.
This is a doozy.
Doc has a wife. Who is vampire. Has been for centuries. So why didn’t she get him out of the well? Were there more important things to do for 150+ years than finding your husband?
(Yet, everyone went up in arms about Nicole/Shae. Unbelievable.)
Speaking about Shae why hasn’t she had at least one on-screen mention?
I get that there’s really no point in referencing her, but Shae is just like Chrissy now. Both are characters who were brought in to make a lasting impact — Chrissy as the one and only best friend Waverly had in Purgatory, while Shae was Nicole’s wife whom Nicole spoke to on a regular basis! and yet nothing. Not even a peep.
While Chrissy is off committing to this disappearing act of hers, let’s head on over to Nedley. Nedley fought to bring Nicole in from “the city”, why was he so adamant about that? We all thought that it was because Nicole was this badass cop who did, you know, cop things.
But instead, we get the reveal that Nedley saved Nicole “that day”. And what is the day in question? The Massacre.
So it that’s true, and Nedley has been through his own demon rodeo before, why give Nicole shit about it in S1? Why become this obstacle for her and only really giving her a bone by letting her go after Tucker in S2? — Which was a wasted opportunity in my book; he’s her foil but gets away with enough shit during the whole season? You’d think Nicole would be watching his every move (since things progress off-screen) which leaves you wondering just how competent Nicole is as an officer.
But now she’s Sheriff.
After being on the job for a year.
Yeah... I’m going to call it now: either Nicole grows a rock hard backbone and commands that department like a boss and we actually see this or the high point of this promotion will just be hearing Waverly call her sheriff in bed.
The toxicity cover up
Anyone who thinks Wyndoc is the main love story of the show is fucking blind.
Now, I like them, more so then I did Wyndolls, and that was mainly because of their scene in S2 when Doc says that he’d do anything for Wynonna and their child.
Frankly, I’m sure a ton of people became Wyndoc shippers because of that one scene.
And with how the Dolls/Wynonna/Doc love triangle was so blatantly biased towards Wyndoc, you would think that it was setting them up to be a couple. Like exclusively.
But then we had Dolls, Rosita, Jonas (he’s not important whatsoever but certainly plays a factor since there was a chance he could’ve been Alice’s father) and now we have Charlie and Kate. Wynonna and Doc constantly going back and forth between their partners and each other, how is that any indication of them being the main lovestory?
I guess the only consolation we have is that Alice isn’t around because it would make the issue all the more apparent.
Their toxic relationship, Wynonna’s character development has taken the most damage of all and the fact that the writers are using wayhaught’s own relationship to distract us.
Who cares if Wynonna jumps from one person to the other.
Who cares if Doc does.
Who cares if Doc became a vampire because he selfishly thought of his own mortality while neglecting the reality that he has a human (so far) daughter.
Who cares that essentially he had a secret wife no one knew about.
Who cares that Wynonna/Charlie is a poor imitation of what Wyndolls could’ve been.
Same goes for Doc/Kate being a replacement for Doc/Rosita — who is still out there by the way! Or was she dealt with off-screen?
But who cares right? As long as we’re blinded by the little tidbits of wayhaught’s relationship.
I’m probably talking out my ass here, cause what do I know?

The Fight Heard ‘Round the Fandom
I watched the big WayHaught fight on Friday like any good shipper, clutching a pillow that I had covering most of my face just barely peeking over the top to see what was happening. And while I may or may not have had to mute parts of the scene the first time I watched it like it was some sort of horror movie, I actually really really love this development both as a character moment for Nicole and for what it might mean for Nicole and Waverly as a couple.
So, let’s start with Nicole. Initially, I was a little confused. In episode two she said she would be by Waverly’s side through her search for answers. She was the one who encouraged her to find confirmation by giving her all those applications. In the very last episode she said she couldn’t lie to Waverly. Throughout the series she’s been the person who wanted Waverly to be who she was, not what people wanted her to be. How could this be the decision she makes?
Fear, uncertainty, and insecurity can make you do funny things, including grasping at parts of yourself that seem uncomplicated and straightforward. Those seemingly unambiguous knowns can feel like a life preserver when things feel out of your control or when the ground is shifting around you. And as much as supportive Nicole is a real part of who she is, we’ve also always known that Nicole sees herself as a protector, especially when it comes to Waverly. We’ve seen both of these parts of Nicole built up over the last season and a half, always being played as two sides of the same coin. But there is a difference between supporting someone and protecting them, and that difference is finally exposing a real human flaw for the lovely Officer Haught. And the truth is they already laid the ground work for this to come to a head. Remember it was Wynonna, not Goononna, that told Nicole she was not her “sister’s keeper.” And of course just because it was wrapped in cruelty it doesn’t mean that there were no grains of truth even to the things Goononna said. They wouldn’t have stung the way they did if there weren’t.
And this is exactly what I love about this development for Nicole. First and for most I’m glad to see Nicole have a real flaw. All of the characters of Wynonna Earp have flaws. And not lip servicey one that might show up in other series. Flaws that aren’t really flaws, that they overcome in an episode, or that some how only show up when the stakes are low. That is not how Wynonna Earp rolls. Nicole up until this point didn’t have any real flaws. Sure, she could be a little judgy here and there but nothing too serious. We start to see that she might have some insecurities (more on that later) but they could all be explained away by the situations she’s in until now. Nicole has been damn near perfect, or at the very least blameless. To really have the same depth and complexity as the rest of the character she needed to not be perfect or have it together all the time. Wynonna Earp is not about idealized characters. They can be aspirational and inspiring, but it’s as much because they are flawed as it is in spite of them. This new wrinkle in Nicole’s character makes her so much more complicated and challenging. So much more grounded. I love that Kat gets to play in that imperfect sandbox now with everyone else.
But the thing I love about this particular flaw is that they decided to explore something that’s an extension of a trait that could be seen as a strength. Nicole’s protective instinct isn’t by definition a negative thing and in fact, it’s been responsible for some of the fandoms favorite moments. Plus Nicole’s identity as protector goes to the core of her character. It informs so much of how she sees herself. It’s why she became a cop. So it’s not going to be as simple as unlearning a bad habit or over coming destructive behavior (not that either of those things is actually simple). And in reality, that’s true of most people. Qualities that serve people well in one moment are their down fall in the next. Most of what makes us who we are is a tangled mess of gray rather than black and white. Often our personal growth is about becoming self-aware enough to know when to push back on our instincts or trust others to help us make the right choice. So yeah, I’m super stoked for this development in Nicole and excited to watch her, and Kat, navigate it.
One last thing I’ll say about this particular flaw they decided to explore with Nicole is that they are doing what they often do so well, subverting tropes and assumptions. There is a long history of the noble selfless protector. It is especially strong in the Western genre. That the show chose to challenge the audience to think about this arc type differently and use what is normally seen as heroic as the basis of a serious breach of trust is incredibly compelling storytelling.
But the question does remain why she did it. Why she did it after promising to help Waverly find answers. I don’t think Nicole was lying when she told Waverly it was because she loved her and wanted to protect her. When she originally brought Waverly the forms and applications I think it’s safe to assume she believed what she told Waverly earlier, when she said it was “crazy” and she was the “Earpiest Earp of them all”. She probably thought this would end with Waverly being reassured of who she was. But I don’t think that is a sufficient answer. Whatever Nicole might believe or tell herself, and despite her genuinely good intentions, her decision not to tell Waverly also came from a place of fear and a little bit of selfishness. When Nicole first said she would be by Waverly’s side as she looked for answers it was at a time when Nicole felt pretty secure in their relationship and her dynamic with Waverly. It was still early days of Gooverly and any changes in Waverly were still subtle and as far as Nicole could tell not particularly scary. The idea of Waverly changing in a way that upset the balance of their relationship was still more or less an abstract idea. But as the season progressed, even if it was because she was possessed, the idea of Waverly changing or out growing Nicole became more tangible. Kat has said often in interviews that part of Nicole’s interpretation of what was going on was worry that Waverly was having second thoughts and pulling away from her. Add to that Goononna poking at all of Nicole’s insecurities, by the time Waverly’s DNA test comes you have a Nicole who’s in a completely different head space. She just got Waverly back, just reclaimed this thing that she thought might be slipping away from her. Knowing how much this news would impact Waverly, it’s no wonder she’s scared. And as already discussed, in those moments people sometimes grasp at what makes sense and what feels safe.
Nicole is not only protective of Waverly, she’s protective of what they have and in some ways wants to freeze it in time. Also, don’t forget so much of Nicole’s world is wrapped up in Waverly. Yes, she knows that Nedley wants her to be Sheriff some day and feels better about her career, but she is still the outsider from the big city and most of her social connections in Purgatory are in some way connected to Waverly. That has to make it even scarier. They hint at these insecurities again right before Waverly discovers the DNA results with the beat of jealousy Nicole shows when Rosita calls Waverly Waves. Which of course was just after Nicole finished telling Waverly to giver Rosita a chance. I don’t believe for a second that Nicole felt threatened romantically by Rosita, I think she felt threatened by the intrusion and fearful that this unknown variable might upset what she just got back and sees as a little fragile right now.
I like to think that Nicole would have eventually made the right decision, maybe after thinking more about her conversation with Waverly at Shorty’s. We’ll never know for sure, but there is one thing that suggests she was working her way there. The one part of all of this that still seems to be out of character for Nicole was that none of what she did was very smart, and we all know Nicole is a smart one. The initial decision not to tell Waverly about the results, despite the fact that Waverly would eventually start wondering about it, can be chalked up to panic. But carrying the results in her bag? That’s a little harder to square. Maybe it was just a necessary plot device, but I’m going to choose to believe that she brought the results with her because she knew she couldn’t keep lying to Waverly and was struggling with her decision.
None of this sounds like good news for WayHaught, right? We left them in a pretty bad place. Trust was broken and broken in a way that Waverly never expected from Nicole, which makes it all the more devastating. But bear with me on this, I think this is an opportunity for them because beneath the surface of their adorable relationship there were some dynamics developing that needed recalibration if their relationship was going to survive & have the resiliency it needs to remain healthy. There are two related dynamics that have developed between Waverly & Nicole that could be dangerous to their relationship if left unchecked. The first, of course, as already noted, is Nicole as protector and Waverly as the protected. Early on that was one of the appealing parts of their dynamic. Waverly had someone she knew would always have her back and stick up for her which is undeniably a good thing. We all saw how impressed Waverly was when Nicole punched Champ, and who didn’t feel a little pinch of “Awwww” when Nicole put her hand on Gooverly thinking she was protecting Waverly from a possessed Wynonna even though we knew what was really happening. But the thing about being a protector is that taken too far it becomes patronizing and robs people of their agency. As Waverly points out, she is not a child and while Nicole might have had the best of intentions, her actions were not exactly respectful. What we want for Nicole and Waverly is for them to be equal partners, and to really do that Nicole can’t be Waverly’s guardian because that is by definition not a relationship of parity. Instead of using her courage to try and keep Waverly from getting hurt she needs to refocus that courage to help her face her own fears so she can be the support Waverly needs to continue growing as an individual.
It isn’t just about shifting the dynamic to better serve Waverly though. This is also about what Nicole needs. The dynamic between Nicole and Waverly has always felt very Waverly centric. They spend a lot of time attending to Waverly’s needs (although in the Purgatory Case Files there have been a few video chats that suggest support in the relationship is a little more of a two-way street off screen). Within the show itself, the closest we get to Nicole expressing what she needs from Waverly is after Waverly is de-gooed and she asks what was real and what wasn’t. But this is more of a tentative first step to expressing her own needs and concerns. Nicole’s selflessness might even be contributing to her insecurities (which of course ironically leads to a sort of selfish decision). Nicole needs to be able to say how things impact her and express her fear about what all these changes for and in Waverly mean for their relationship. For them to thrive there has to be space for Nicole’s vulnerabilities. It can’t alway be about supporting Waverly. Obviously, right now Waverly is the one most impacted by what’s happening and I’m not suggesting Nicole should make it about her. That would be equally unhelpful. But she and Waverly are in a relationship and denying that she is affected by what’s happening to Waverly is a recipe for disaster and at some point, they’ll need to talk about that to. It is impossible for them to grow as a couple if Nicole feels like their relationship is always in a precarious or delicate state because of what Waverly is dealing with.
But this is why this fight is so important. Conflict is not inherently a bad thing. In real life and in fictional stories healthy conflict is a path to character and relationship growth. It’s true that conflict can break bonds but it can also make them stronger. It’s not the fact of a conflict itself that determines whether you come out with a stronger bond or whether it breaks. It’s whether you respond with honesty and compassion, whether the relationship the conflict is happening in is worth fighting for and engaging in really difficult uncomfortable conversations. So the real question is, are Waverly and Nicole willing to take that emotional risk for each other and for the relationship they could have. I think we all believe they are. They are both characters of integrity, sincerity, and yes, courage, who know that what they have with each other is different than anything they had before. So however hard it was to see these two characters heartbroken, whatever difficult path they have to go down to come through this, I’m excited for it. I am excited to see them reconcile but I am also excited to see how things change as a result.

The Walking Dead 7x10 - New Best Friends
Listen, I was a little unimpressed with TWD lately and so I didn’t have the will to talk it out. But I think episodes 9 and 10 were all right, not great, necessarily but kind of pointing in the right direction? stuff and thangs were happening, badasses were being badasses, etc.
Now, I’m hating what they’re doing with Rosita, wtf. I get it, she’s grieving, she’s pissed off, but she’s never before shown signs of being this dense and unstable. So I’m sorry if I think is lazy writing using her as prop/plot device sacrifice. What the walkers and all the horrible people we’ve seen are not enough antagonists? we need idiocy from within? Give me a break.
I like the twist of Gabriel becoming a guy with common sense. See? He stopped being an idiot., because we’ve got enough of those already.
I’m a little annoyed by King Ezekiel and Morgan and they’re all peace policy. I get it, we don’t have to lose all empathy, and we don’t have to become monsters because then what will set us apart from people like Negan, ok. But come on, one thing is to be the best guy possible, to seek peace and another is to turn your back on reality. You know, the “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”.
The kingdom does seem like a nice community, I like that they don’t make people feel like the owe them and that they give freedom for people to leave if they want to, no questions asked.
I still loving they didn’t forget about Maggie and Sasha’s friendship. I appreciate it. Even though they seem to have forgotten all about Maggie and Tara’s friendship. I also love that the people of the Hilltop are all turning to Maggie as leader. Suck on that Gregory, you prick.
I feel like there was something behind the whole “my sister had that same dress”, bit, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok, Richard, I’m with you, believe me, but my dude, chill. How dare you try to sacrifice Carol, and try to use Daryl to do it? You high? And if you start going down that road, are you really that different? Of course, he should be pissed with Ezekiel what even with him letting the Saviours get away with everything.
These garbage people are all cool and everything, but they seemed a little touched in the head to me. Maybe a tad disconnected. But perhaps that’d be good for the cause.
I seriously do not get the lying to Carol thing we’ve got going on. I get it, she’s a little unstable and charged with guilt and depressed maybe, and traumatized by all the dead. I get that, I can forgive her for wanting a timeout, I do. But she’s asking, why would you lie to her? To protect her? By lying? What, you’re expecting she lives like a hermit for the rest of her life and never finds out, or maybe she’ll die before she notices? I mean, I’m sorry, I get all the gallant impulses of the manly men trying to keep her bubbled up, but she’s a grown super badass woman who could destroy them all in one go. Fuck that.
I bet she’ll find out by accident just a the perfect time to step in a save everyone else.
I’m going to be pissed if Tara feels forced to tell on the secret amazonian society by the sea. She promised the girl, I know they’re going to do it, because it’s been foreshadowed a lot. But I’m still going to be upset about it. I get it, they’ll join in the fight and get revenge for all their fallen males, but it’ll be because Tara will feel forced to betray the girl, and the girl is probably going to die then, or maybe her mother... *sigh*
So, Rosita, Morgan and Ezekiel better get their heads out of their butts by next week, because it’s seriously getting annoying.

We Take, We Don’t Bother - TWD
I have some theories on The Walking Dead. There will be some loose recapping of this week’s episode, but it’s mostly me babbling about theories and things. Spoilers ahead, probably.
“The King, the Widow, and Rick” made me angry, furious, frustrated - lots of not so nice feelings. This was mostly because I didn’t understand why anyone was doing anything, and I don’t like that. It feels a little like I’m on the outs with the Saviors, and I don’t want to be anywhere near the Saviors (except Dwight. He’s alright).
I have a list of things making me squirm right now, in order of intensity.
:1: Rick going to Jadis the Trash Godess... alone.
I don’t understand why he would even think to do this. He’d be better off going to Oceanside. That’s still around, right? I found this very out of character for him, so I didn’t get it at all. I’ve seen a theory floating around that this is part of a plan of some kind - a long con on Rick’s and possibly Jadis’s end - but since this situation ended with Rick naked in a box, I don’t see how this plan would have benefited him and his group at all. Is he forming a second front with the Trashies in case the Saviors take the Hilltop? If that’s the case, I could see the point of hiding Rick as a sort of ace in the hole... but that doesn’t explain why Jadis took all his stuff (including his clothes). While the long con theory would be a relief, I don’t see it, nor do I understand the point.
:2: Carl going off alone to find a rando he decided to recruit.
Okay, going off alone is just a bad idea, and people shouldn’t be doing it. But, this isn’t anything new for Carl, so I suppose he’s one of the few characters who can wander off alone and be fine (along with Carol, Michonne, and Daryl). I understand the spirit behind Carl’s decision to go find Sidiq. However, considering the situation Alexandria is in right now, it’s the worst time to be bringing in a newcomer (particularly one Rick is wary of). This goes along the same lines as Jesus bringing the Savior prisoners back to the Hilltop to build a community with them in the future. Sure, it’s a good idea in theory, but the timing is just idiotically horrific, and if these two don’t know that they shouldn’t have survived this long in the first place. Read a room, gentlemen. Or, you know, a post-apocalyptic survival compound/safehouse. Even if these people are cool YOUR people are not cool with them right now.
:3: Michonne and Rosita hobbling off out of boredom.
This was another one that struck me as very out of character, at least for Michonne. She’s injured. She’s BADLY injured. I mean, this isn’t a papercut we’re talking about here. She’s also one of the few capable strong combatants at Alexandria, because they are at war and there is a chance things could go sour. Still, she decides to take off alone just to see what’s going on over at the Sanctuary. She’s going to unnecessarily risk her life when she knows she’s needed to go check out the Sanctuary. Maybe she plans to fight, but, again, she’s not really in fighting shape, and even if she was, she’s needed as back-up in Alexandria. Rosita, also badly injured, goes along with Michonne. Now, this doesn’t strike me at all as out of character for her, mind you. Of course, they stumble upon some Saviors up to no good, clumsily get caught (unlike either of them to do at this point in the game), and have to fight. They still manage to be badass, but the fact that they’re out there in the first place was odd and clunky. They didn’t even try to make it feel organic. It’s just shoehorned into the story.
:4: Tara and Daryl going rogue because… stupidity?
These two are just… dumb right now. I know that’s mean, but neither of them are using their heads. This is very in character for Daryl. We’ve seen him go all Wild West, guns-blazing before when he’s lost people. The tough asshole shooting or swinging at anything he can is his coping mechanism... which is ANNOYING as hell in the middle of a very delicate mission that requires all the people involved to work together. As far as Tara goes, unfortunately, I don’t know her well enough to understand where her stupidity is coming from. I relate her actions more to Andrea’s way back after she lost Amy. She was kind of lost, depressed in a reckless, self-destructive way, but also felt the need to DO… anything, always. We never really got to understand Andrea either, and she wound up unceremoniously written out. I’m seeing a similar thing happening with Tara, where they’re just not spending enough time on her character storyline to make her worth watching. We don’t understand her, so when she acts out it just seems like a lazy way to throw a wrench in the works. She’s just not coming together for me, and I’ve given her a lot of time before deciding she’s just not somebody I’m rooting for. Anyway, her and Daryl as a team are just barreling forward focused on selfish, stupid revenge. They’re not thinking of anyone else, or how their actions are going to affect anything. All they care about is what they want right now, and it’s super irritating. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they both got taken out this season. I’ve hade enough of the repetitive Daryl storylines, and I could do without Tara altogether at this point.
:5: Enid and Aaron doing I don’t even know what.
I don’t even know Enid exists 90% of the time, to be honest. She’s pretty much set décor at this point. Here we have Aaron taking off sort of like Michonne did, but the why is less clear, other than maybe he feels the need to DO. Enid, inexplicably, decides to go with him. No idea what’s going on here other than “Let’s see, who else is left in Alexandria who could defend it? Ah! Aaron and Enid. Let’s get them out of there so we can do some awful shit to a defenseless Alexandria.”
This leads me to my first theory: we’re about to lose Alexandria. Here’s why I came to this conclusion.
:1: The seasonal formula.
Generally speaking, we get about one season in each major location we settle in (give or take). We’ve had Alexandria for a WHILE, so it’s about time for it to go away to unsettle our characters.
:2: The helicopter.
Rick saw a helicopter flying overhead. Meanwhile, we saw the Saviors discussing sending in a flyer to either the Hilltop or Alexandria (I forget the exact quote, so if someone remembers and wants to enlighten me, go for it). Point: the Saviors probably have fucking helicopters, who are probably about to swoop into Alexandria.
:3: No one’s there.
The show just literally went to bizarre, ridiculous lengths to get EVERYONE useful out of Alexandria. Rick’s in Jadis’s box. Daryl, Tara, Michonne, and Rosita are staking out the Sanctuary. Gabriel’s in Negan jail (and also very sick). Aaron and Enid just left. Carl’s off bonding with strange men in the woods. Carol, Jerry, and Ezekiel are at the Kingdom. Maggie and Jesus are at the Hilltop. There is NOBODY minding Alexandria. Like, it’s Judith and some redshirts. The only wildcard is Morgan because I don’t know where he ended up.
Now, let’s talk about the Trashies. I’ve seen a few theories floating around about these weirdos. I have my own that’s kind of underwhelming by comparison, but remember back in the early days of Alexandria when Deanna explained there were some people they had to put outside the walls because they weren’t working out? I remember because they never mentioned that again. What happened to those people? Are some of them Trashies? I wonder. My working theory is that the Trashies have beef with Alexandria because they used to live there, sheltered like the rest of them. And then they were exiled, so now they scavenge and they don’t trust outsiders. It would also explain why they flipped so hard on the Alexandria group after making a shaky alliance with them: because fuck Alexandria, that’s why. I don’t have much evidence to base this on, so if you have theories please share. I’m not familiar with the comics, so I’d love some insight there (I don’t mind spoilers). I also feel like all the Trashies are using aliases. Jadis was a character in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Tamiel is the name of an angel. Other names we’ve heard are Brion, Farron, and Winslow. None of these are run-of-the-mill names. I’m wondering if these guys took on new names at some point.
All that being said, here’s the stuff I love.
:1: Maggie.
I love, love, love everything about Maggie this season. She’s proving to be a strong leader, and she’s having a hard time making the tough decisions. It’s doing wonderful things for both the story and her arc.
:2: Jesus.
He did another annoying thing in bringing the Savior prisoners to the Hilltop. However, I understand why he did it and I don’t think it was a rash decision on his part. I think he always assumed their group would absorb the Saviors after the battle. He’s genuinely shocked at the idea of mowing all of them down - even horrified. He’s trying to bring reason to a lot of grief and pain everyone else is working off of, and people aren’t digging it. Well, I am. I may not agree, but I like this story and it makes total sense.
:3: Awkward team-ups.
While I may not like some of the clunky, plot-device-ish actions of some of these teams, I’m always a fan of an awkward team-up between characters who don’t normally interact. And that’s been a staple of the show since it started. We had Negan and Gabriel last week. We have Dwight and Eugene with this shaky alliance in the belly of the beast. Michonne and Rosita are such a badass team. I hope we get to see them fight together when they’re not beat to hell. That would be awesome. I like that Daryl and Rick are at odds, but still respect one another. The same goes for Maggie and Jesus.
:4: Carol.
I always love Carol, and her time with the Kingdom and Ezekiel is bringing out some great emotional stuff we haven’t seen in a while.
:5: Ezekiel.
I love what’s happening with Ezekiel right now. He’s been faking it for so long, it’s nice to see what was under there the whole time.
That’s all I got for now. Just a brain dump before bed.

You know I am rewatching season 2- (maybe in hopes to finish it up to episode 11 before the finale tomorrow night). But anyway, I am kinda disappointed in something. Wynonna was ready to give Earl, the revenant working at the condo, the benefit of the doubt. She had a chance to point Peacemaker between his eyes several times but she doesn’t. Yeah yeah I know he was a plot device to break the first seal, but still. It’s all “poor Earl” up to episode 6 (and of course he"ll eventually come back?)- yet she threatens Rosita in 2x10? Why did it have to be that way? We could just forget all of it and have Wynonna ask her for help? I mean, “I like you.” And “I’ll kill you last.” I suppose is a good sign, but still? It seems certainly petty if she’s acting out towards Rosita because of what she means to Doc or just the fact her closest friends/family all lied to her about the situation. I just kinda miss the idea that Wynonna was filling up on peace not revenge, you know?
