Today, there was an announcement
That Fujii Rio-chan’s contract has been cancelled.
It was a really sudden announcement
I’m really sorry.
I have some things to think about myself.
But it’s not just me, the other members and everyone else surely have various thoughts on what happened
That’s what I think.
Also, everyone was planning on enjoying the Hello! Project concert on September 2nd, but now there are feelings of sorrow..
I’m really really sorry.
I just love Rio
Laughing and playing around with Taguchi Natsumi-chan
Even if she did something strange, it really made me laugh...
That’s why I feel lonely
But even if I’m lonely forever it can’t be helped!
All of us, on the first HelloCon on July 15th
The 7 members of Kobushi Factory
We’ll show it,
We have 7 people but we have full power
Kobushi Factory will be fine from now on
So I think
I want to do a powerful performance.
So I have no time to look away,.
Rio, the 8 members of Kobushi Factory
Everyone who supports me.
I talked about yesterday’s really sudden announcement
I’m so sorry.
For me, Kobushi Factory is the 8 of us
I love Rio, and I loved it.
So, of course I feel lonely
I think everyone feels the same.
But we will do our best as Kobushi Factory even with seven members.!!
At the time, Kobushi Factory with 8 members was the best, but I also love Kobushi Factory with 7 members!
I can say for sure
I want to become a strong group
I’m saying selfish things
I’m sorry..
But after seeing us
I want you to feel good and smile
Someday, when my heart feels better
Please come and see us again,.
With the seven members of Kobushi Factory
Please continue to support us.
This validates my thoughts from here where I found the original release of Sakura Chirari meh, and wrote the song off as much less interesting than Ookina or Wakkynai. Turns out, though that it's just an issue of cutesy overload.
When you replace the burikko with swag, the charms of the song really come out, and even the dance becomes more like an oldschool Peanuts or Motown thing than infantile, all about that smooth sync.
Ironically, I find vintage S/mileage to be an opposite case. Part of how the OG 4nin was so great was the contrast between their veteran calm and their cutesy voices. They were singing cute songs with cute voices, but in a very serious way. (And my favorite song of theirs was Asu wa Date, in which it was chill song with cute voices singing seriously, and buckets of X Factor.)
There's a slight bit too much swag in this perf of Tabidachi, which isn't their fault. If any one of them (but espc Kishimon) were singing it as a solo Bday perf, the earnestness would show through and be charming. But the coordination and subtle competitive bent of this lineup breaks the fresh atmosphere (see also my feelings on Tsuugaku Vector). Tabidachi would have to be performed in a more casual/DGAF way for a more veteran cover to work.
