Shark Of The Day: Porbeagle
Though they may sort of look like a miniature version of a Mako (which itself looks like a smaller version of a Great White) the Porbeagle is actually closely related to Salmon Shark (which, yes, is a shark not a salmon). In fact the Porbeagle is so often misidentified as a Mako shark that it’s earned the nickname “Fako.” Though the Porbeagle is small by shark standards (around 8ft) the Porbeagle can also be characterized by its stiff swimming style, which while efficient lacks maneuverability. This wittle pork chop is also one of the few fish to exhibit “play” behavior.
