#Song suggestion: Cocoa Hooves by Glass animals

I wanna start listening to glass animals, where would u recommend starting? :+)

GRABS YOU AND SHAKES YOU. in my opinion the best way to start is listening to the album how to be a human being all the way through so skips. that's how i started and i genuinely think it's the best way.

but if you don't have time for that my song suggestions are pools, cocoa hooves, life itself, season 2 episode 3, take a slice, pork soda, tangerine, your love (deja vu), and hot sugar. (sorry there's like a million i Really like this band)

keep in mind that each album has a slightly different sound, don't be expecting the same exact thing from each one.

and also how to be a human being is a concept album! each song directly corresponds to one of the people on the album cover :D

so either while or after you're listening i'd suggest skimming through the genius pages for the songs. or you can ask me :3c all of the characters are based off real people and experiences the band has encountered and it's. so interesting. hhhh

hai i saw u wanted some Glass Animals trivia.. i am here to provide information. if you see any spelling mistakes no you don’t /silly

this is all gonna be abt their earlier work, which i highly suggest checking out ^w^

before their first full album, Zaba, they released five EPs, all of which included a song that would later be part of the Zaba album. their very first EP was titled Leaflings and included Cocoa Hooves, along with Golden Antlers, Dust In Your Pocket, and Cocoa Hooves Pt. 2.

three of the other EPs are all titled after the songs that would later be added to Zaba (Pools, Hazey, and Gooey). these EPs all included the original song as well as three remixes. the Pools and Gooey EPs both included a separate song. for Pools, it was a cover of a Kanye West song titled Love Lockdown. for Gooey, it was a song titled Holiest (not sure if this one is a cover too or an original song. gonna have to look into that). Hazey just included the song and its three remixes.

the last EP in this group of five is self-titled “Glass Animals - EP”. it includes Black Mambo (also a Zaba song) as well as three other songs specific to the EP; Psylla, Exxus, and Woozy.

i like to talk abt their earlier work because nobody really knows about it. their popular songs (Toes, Pork Soda, Take A Slice, etc.) are all bangers dont get me wrong, but they have amazing work in their earlier years as well. i want people to listen to every aspect of Glass Animals, yknow? they’ve never made a bad song (<- biased)

(1/2) hey crow! i have a request but honestly i'm well aware this is quite a demanding ask so please feel free to ignore or go into as little or as much detail as you please but i recently got into glass animals (mostly thanks to you) and i love all the stuff i've heard from them so far, however it's only a handful of songs that i've listened to and i was wondering if you could maybe recommend your absolute faves?

(2/2) the ones that i heard and loved are: black mambo, pools, hazey, toes; life itself, youth, pork soda, this side of paradise; dreamland, tangerine, hot sugar, heatwaves and helium! so if you (in your opinion) notice some big ommisions and have any must-listen additions i'd appreciate it! thanks a lot in advance

of their entire discography, otherside of paradise is my favorite of theirs for sure. and you already mentioned my favorites from 2/4 albums (pools from zaba and paradise from htbahb) but my favorite from the eps is cocoa hooves and from dreamland is probably either waterfalls coming out your mouth or space ghost coast to coast !!

i’d also throw in flip, wyrd, take a slice, tokyo drifting, and your love as some suggestions :D

in general though, glass animals is very much the type of band you sit down and listen through an entire album in one go (especially zaba but also dreamland) so i mostly just recommend listening through if you get a chance tbh

#i count the EPs separately bc i got into them before zaba released so that’s it own era for me ksjfkakf #but also bc that way i can list cocoa hooves and pools as favorites even tho they’re both on zaba lol #zaba especially tho has SUCH great transitions between songs i highly highly recommend just listening through it it’s so good #dreamland is similar but zaba is VERY transition heavy #ask #i still can’t pick between waterfalls and space ghost for my favorite on dreamland bc i’m taking my time settling into the album #this is my favorite band i enjoy taking my time to pick favorites from albums #i am. in the top .5% of listeners i enjoy this band
