Heyyy good day everyone so, uhm I’m Jacqueline Jacob and it’s my first time to create a blog post guys so please support me💓❤️. So, I’ll describe myself guys, I’m cute(but I’m the only one who’s saying that because whenever I tell this to my friends they say I’m the only one who knows about it and they always ask me where part of my face is cute because they cannot see it🙄) like duhh guys I’m so cute you know hahahaha wait until you see my face haha. So that, I am cute, I’m short( that’s why my friends are always teasing me and they keep on telling me that I’m a dwarf😤) seriously guys? I’m not that small duhh I love my height, I’m sooo skinny guys that’s my biggest problem in my body, I’m kind of gluttonous🤭 but I still don’t gain weight and it’s so frustrating because I can’t buy the clothes that I like because it doesn’t look good on me, my dear body what is your problem(insert angry tone here guys haha) I think my metabolism is too fast. And most of all guys I’m a wattpad reader and I write love stories and poem but I hide my works because I’m afraid people won’t like it and I’m so afraid just by thinking that they will judge my work. You know that guys? you put a lot of effort on your work but they can’t even appreciate it instead they judge it and say so many hurtful words to the author. It sucks how people appreciate you(insert sarcastic tone here). And guys who’s a wattpader out their? omg pm me if you’re a wattpader, let’s talk about the stories you’ve read already!! It would be fun guys hahaha. But beware guys I am crazy, a cute but crazy girl hahaha(lol just joking) sometimes I am childish, sometimes I am serious, no one can predict what would be my mood(I’m a bipolar guys shh🤭🤭) hahaha. My friends usually call me crazy because I just laugh out loud out of nowhere and I don’t even know what am I laughing at hahaha so guys am I really crazy? please tell me I’m not (insert begging eyes here). Oh and I almost forget guys I’m just 16 years old(but I look more younger because of my height hahaha) and I’m a senior high school student from St. Paul University of the Philippines or sometimes they call it SPUP. I was born on July 24,2004(the day where the cutest was born hahaha stop it self you’re not cute) and guys I’m a Daddy’s girl, I love my father than my mother because my mother is always scolding me while my father always pampered me but it has a limit hahaha kidding aside, I love them both💕💕. So guys please support me? pretty please(puppy eyes). I know you can’t resist my cuteness now hahaha, I love you all guys I hope you appreciate my effort in writing this❤️.
So guy’s this questions that I will be answering has been asked by my teacher Sir Carlos Babaran, Good Day sir😊😊:
So let’s start now guy’s
1. Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Is my learning in SPUP vital to where I’m leading to?
So as I am contemplating with myself, I’ve realized that I can see myself 10 years from now in a plane while assisting all the passengers. Because seriously guys, since I dream of touring to every part of the world and I dreamed of riding a plane that’s why I want to be a flight attendant. And yes, of course my learning in SPUP is vital to where I’m leading to because I can use that learning to be my guide to where I’m leading to, I’ll use that to live my dreams in the near future.
okay so this is the second question guys
2. Was ABM the best choice afterall?
YES, for me it’s a yes because ABM contains the learning that I would need when I will go to college. Also in ABM I will learn how to run a business and I can use that learning if ever there is a change in my plans in the future.
number 3 guys
3. What course will you take in college and why?
The course that I will take in college is tourism. Why? It’s simple guys, I love to tour and as I say on my answer in the number one question, I love to tour and it’s my dream since I was still a child.
And here goes number 4 guys, actually this is just a five questions so don’t worry guys get a little more patience to read my blog hahaha so here it is;
4. What topic would you like to learn more in this subject?
So since this subject is empowerment technology, and technology means different types of technologies that we use in everyday life, I want to learn more on how to use computers, the every part of it, and how to use it. Because honestly guys, I’m not good in using computers. There’s a lot more I want to learn like how to create an app, how to access in different sites, and omg guys I really want to learn how to hack an account. I won’t use it for illegal guys even if I know that hacking is already illegal in online world haha, I just want to learn it because I envy those people I watched in every movies, it’s like it’s so cool.
so we’re in the last questions guys and I can almost hear you saying, “Finally!” hahaha
5. What the corona virus has taught you about life?
What corona has taught me about life is it is important to take care of your health. It’s important to be cautious every day because it’s not just ourselves that we are talking about, corona virus can also involve our whole family without us noticing it. We all should learn how to clean our surroundings, not just our surroundings but also ourselves. Always wash and disinfect your whole body.
SO THIS IS THE END OF MY BLOG GUYS I HOPE YOU’RE ABLE TO KNOW ME MORE. THANK YOU FOR THE PATIENCE AND EFFORT YOU HAVE BEEN EXERTED IN READING MY BLOG GUYS. KEEP SAFE EVERYONE I LOVE YOU ALL❤️LOVELOTS.

SO HELLO GUYS HERE I AM AGAIN. MY SECOND BLOG WOULD BE ABOUT TECHNOLOGY. THIS IS A TECHNOLOGY REVIEW GUYS, I HOPE YOU’LL LEARN SOMETHING FROM MY BLOG THANK YOU(SMILES). AND OH, THE SPECIFIC TOPIC HERE GUYS IS ABOUT MY FAVORITE TECHNOLOGY.
My favourite technology is communication technology particularly computer. So now I’ll make a TECH REVIEW guys about my favourite technology.
1. What makes computer vulnerable?
2. What is the importance of computer?
3. What does a computer allow you to do?
4. What makes up a computer?
5. What are the use of computer?
So here’s the answer for those questions guy’s please read all of it and I hope you’ll learn something.
1. What makes computer vulnerable is because programmers fail to fully understand the inner programs. While the programmers design and programs the computer, they didn’t really into account all aspects of computer systems and that makes the computer vulnerable.
2. Computer became important in our daily lives because it is more accurate and it works fast that can accomplish a task easily. But otherwise to complete those task, people should exert more time in doing that certain task. And it store huge amount of data in it.
3. A computer is an electronic device that manipulates the data and information. It has the capacity to store, retrieve, and process data. And we all know that the computer allows us to create documents, send emails, browse a web and even play games.
4. Computer is made up of two components and that is the hardware and the software. When we say hardware, it means it’s the part of computer itself including the CPU(Central Processing Unit) and related microchips and micro-circuity, keyboards, monitors, and etc.
5. Computers are used to perform several task in industries just like managing inventories, interior designing, designing purpose, and etc. Computer can also be used in online marketing, it has seen a great revolution in its ability to sell numerous products to inaccessible areas.
SO THAT’S ALL FOR TODAY GUYS THANK YOU FOR READING MY BLOG. I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU’VE LEARN SOMETHING FROM MY BLOG. LOVE YOU GUYS PLEASE SUPPORT ME BYE-BYE👋😊.
So here guys is my third blog, and this would be a movie review, I will pick three of my favourite movie and I’ll make my own summary for that movie. I hope you’ll read it guys and I’ll hope you will enjoy it. I love ya’all🧡🧡. And oh! before I forgot guys there would be 4 guide questions in every movie and here it is👇:
1. What life lessons can be learned from the movie?
2. What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? why?
3. Who was your favourite character in the movie? Why?
4. Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have seen occur to others?
So that is the guide questions guys and now I will start my movie review I hope you’ll read it guys
My first favourite movie is THE VOW
THE VOW
Tumblr media
MOVIE SUMMARY:
When Paige (Rachel McAdams) and Leo (Channing Tatum) have met for the first time, they seemed to be attracted with each other. Then after how many weeks or months of dating and courting, they decided to get married. But one snowy night changed their happy married life, they met a car accident, their car was hit by a truck and their car hit the post in the street that lead Paige into a comatose and she had an amnesia. Paige can’t remember Leo as her husband, she can’t remember all of their 4 years together and all she could remember is her life where she still hasn’t met Leo. Paige’s parents doesn’t agree on their relationship that’s why they want Paige to live with them, but Leo tried to pursue Paige to live with him and Paige gave it a try. But when she really can’t remember anything while she’s living with Leo, she decided to go back to her family and her family take advantage of her situation to go back to them. But Leo still tried to woo Paige, he asked her on a date, bring her on their favourite cafe and on their favourite spot but it seems like Paige like to be with her ex-fiancee Jeremy so Leo gave up on Paige and they got divorced. But after all of those struggles in their life, Paige manages to go in the right path, she became an artist again but she didn’t have the chance to regain her memories.
TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE OUT THEIR WHO HAVEN’T WATCHED THIS MOVIE, WATCH IT GUYS IT’S VERY INTERESTING AND WORTH YOUR TIME 😀
SO HERE’S MY ANSWER FOR THE GUIDE QUESTIONS ABOVE:
1. The life lessons that can be learned from this movie is all married couple would end up happy. There is no such thing as fairy tales because not all of the couples end up together. There are a lot of circumstances that may happen on every couples relationship, just like what happen to Paige and Leo, Leo tried to fight for their relationship but it doesn’t work out because Paige can’t remember him. But at least, Paige tried to remember her past.
2. For me, the most powerful part in the movie is when Leo gave up on Paige. Because even though he really loved her, he still managed to let her go and continue his life without her.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Leo because he is so strong and very determined to help Paige remember him. I envy him for being understandable, loving, and caring husband, he always understands Paige even if it already hurts him.
4. It’s the part where Leo tried y pursue Paige but he gave up on the end. It reminds me of my experience when I want to go somewhere with my friends but my parents doesn’t want me to go, I tried to pursue them but I just gave up on the end because I know that no matter how hard I try to pursue them, I know they would not let me go.
This would my second favourite movie guys:
LOVE, ROSIE
Tumblr media
MOVIE SUMMARY:
Alex Stewart (Sam Cliflin) and Rosie Dunne (Lily Collins) are best of friends since they were just a child. They can’t see theirselves being in love to each other. It was Rosie’s 18th birthday that day and they were partying to celebrate her birthday when she and Alex kissed and then she passed out. Then morning came and the two of them talked, Rosie told Alex to forget hat happened last night like it was just nothing. Alex and Rosie goes to a beach then suddenly Greg, the fittest guy in their batch offered her to take her out on their school dance but Rosie refused his offer because Alex is the one who will take her out. Meanwhile, a certain girl named Bethany came up and showed interest to Alex so Rosie told Alex to make Bethany her partner on their upcoming school dance and she will go with Greg.
The day for their school dance come, Greg and Rosie get a private room and something happen between them. Alex’s father told him to go Harvard to study medicine and then Alex convinced Rosie to take the hotel management course at Boston University. But there comes a problem, Rosie got pregnant even if she’s taking contraceptive pills. He didn’t tell it to Alex because she doesn’t want her to burden him so she just keep it to herself, otherwise she decided to give up the baby for adoption after she gave birth but during her pregnancy she already got attached to the baby. One day, as Rosie and her baby Katie is strolling, she accidentally bump to Bethany and the information about her having a baby reached to Alex so Alex decided to pay her a visit and ask Rosie if he could be Katie’s godfather.
In America, Alex met a posh girl and he lived in with her. But it seems like there is something wrong with her attitude so he called Rosie and convinced her to come see him. But things between them didn’t go well because Rosie told him that she can’t see them as good couples and then Alex began to say hurtful words to Rosie and that ends her trip in America and she just returned to her daughter. After that Rosie and Greg get back together while Alex is so devastated because he found out that her girlfriend is cheating on him and got pregnant by some other man. Alex wrote a letter to Rosie about what he feels towards her but Greg saw it and hided it from Rosie. But then Rosie also found out that Greg is cheating on her and soon she found the letter that Alex wrote but it’s already too late for them because Alex and Bethany will soon to get married. On Rosie’s speech on Alex’s wedding day, she told him that she loves him but covers it by saying that it’s just a friendly love. After all of that Rosie starts her own hotel, and then Alex suddenly showed up, they kissed and that is the beginning of their love story that should gave started long back.
AND HERE’S THE MY ANSWER AGAIN FOR THE GUIDE QUESTIONS:
1. The life lesson that can be learned from the movie Love, Rosie is sometimes we don’t see the best thing that ever happened to us, the best person who’s there for us. We keep finding them but what we don’t know is they are just beside us all the time. Rosie and Alex have been best of friends since they were just a child so they take each other for granted and they didn’t know that what they felt for each other is not just a friendly love, Its already true love.
2. The most powerful part for me in the story that has been told is the part where Rosie got pregnant. She’s so strong to handle the situation and she even give up her dreams in Boston and she chooses the baby. Because not all single parents can do that, there are a lot of people who chooses to abort or give for adoption their babies just so they can chase their dreams.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Rosie. Because even if life has been tough on her, she still managed to continue her life, she takes all the risk and she’s ready to face the consequences of her actions.
4. None. There’s no part of the happened that reminds me of something that has occurred in my life or to anybody else.
OKAY SO HERE’S MY LAST BLOG AND MY LAST FAVOURITE MOVIE GUYS I HOPE YOU’LL WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT ALREADY 👇:
MY ANNOYING BROTHER
Tumblr media
MOVIE SUMMARY:
This is a South Korean Movie starring Du Yeong Go (D.0 Kyungsoo) and Doo-sik Go (Jo Jung-Suk). Du Yeong Go is a judo athlete who unfortunately damage his optic nerve and lost his sight after his game on the International Event. While his hyung(older brother), Doo-sik Go is a prisoner who applied for release on parole and make his younger brothers situation as an excuse. At first he doesn’t really care about Du Yeong and Du Yeong seems to hate his brother too because Doo-sik always make trouble that really annoys his younger brother. But as time passed by they seemed to be close with each other again. They bond together like they used to do when they were just a child. But one day, Doo-sik discovered that he has a pancreatic cancer so he decided to commit suicide by driving his car so fast, he’s nearly hit by a truck but fortunately he survived. After that he decided to help Du Yeong to train his self together with Du Yeong’s coach to be a national athlete. Then the day for Rio Paralympic Games in Brazil came, while Du Yeong is sitting on the corner, fidgeting because of too much nervousness, his coach told him about his brother’s situation. Du Yeong wants to go back in South Korea for his brother but decided to just make his brothers situation to win. After the Paralympic Games, Du Yeong won the gold medal that he really wants to win since he started being an athlete in Judo.
HERE’S MY ANSWER GUYS:
1. The life lesson that can be learned from the movie My annoying brother is even if you are not in good terms with your brother or any member of your family, always remember that they always there for you. From this movie you will learn how to appreciate your family, and not just that, you will also learn that physical disability won’t stop you to obtain your dreams.
2. For me, the most powerful part that has been told in the story is when Doo-sik motivates his younger brother Du Yeong. Having a brother who can motivate you is so heart touching. They will make you boost your confidence despite your situation.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Doo-sik. Because even though he doesn’t care for his younger brother at first, he still learned to love him and he still took care of him. He’s willing to do anything for his younger brother just to make him happy.
4. Yes, there is. My eldest brother always annoys me, he make fun of me all the time and I hate him for that but if he’s having a fever, I always take care of him and we develop a relationship as brothers and sister, he doesn’t annoy me all the time now.
SO GUYS THIS WOULD BE THE END OF MY BLOG. I’LL SURELY MISS WRITING BLOGS AND I’LL MISS ALL OF YOU WHO READ MY BLOG. I LOVE YOU ALL GUYS💖💖TAKE CARE ALWAYS🤗 BYEEEE GUYS JE T’AIME EVERYONEEEE!!!😘😘

The Perfect Gift
Not rly much of a fanfic writer but did one for fun for @princettegil
DRAGON KNIGHTS FANFIC
Pairing: Ramganas x Gil
Mostly cute, some fluff, sfw, slice of life, iunno how the fanfic community tags stuff
Summary: mixing canon with modern day, Ramganas gives Gil a new phone for safety measures. Gil ponders on all the things Ramganas has done for him and tries to find the perfect gift to show his gratitude, but can he find something that this new hi-tech phone can't already do??
====================================
"Bag?"
"Check."
"Wallet?"
"In the bag."
"Shopping list?
"Right here." Gil produced a folded piece of paper that was then visibly slipped into his own pocket.
"Phone?"
Gil revealed the new phone given to him by Ramganas from his other pocket, but not without an incredulous expresion. He still was not so familiar with such tehnology but Ramganas insisted he get one after some previous ... unfavorable encounters with past faces he'd rather forget.
"You remembered how to use it like I showed you?"
"Yeah," Gil lied. No matter. He lived without one all this time that another day or two wouldn't make a different while he was still getting the hang of it. And if he admitted it now Ramganas will all too willingly repeat a meticulous demonstration that Gil wasn't willing to go through right now.
"Good. I got a few errands to take care of myself but you call me if anything happens. Anything at all and I will be right there." Ramganas wrapped his hand behind Gil's head and pulled him gently for a forehead kiss.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Gil assured his lover. "Not like I'm going to get attacked at a fruit stand or anything. Well i'm not going to hold you up any longer. I know you can't be late either."
This time it was Gil's turn two softly lean in for a small kiss on the lips. "See you tonight."
With that Gil turned out the door for the long trek to the downtown market.
The trek down, although long, passed in no time as Gil knew the way like the back of his hand and usually zoned out until the sounds and smells of the town called him back to his senses.
Much time has past since he left his abusive ex but he was still uncomfortable hanging around in super social space for too long. Most of the time Gil just acquired whatever he needed and then left.
But today he was in a good mood. Well... honestly since moving in with Ramganas there had been more days like this. It was almost like a dream come true that he couldn't fathom just a few years ago. He was truly blessed to be reuited with Ramganas and live this peaceful ordinary life that he had always thought impossible.
A sudden flood of emotions overcame him thinking about all they had been through, and what Ramgans still does for him now.
"I should do something to return the favor," Gil stated his whim-decided desire aloud.
Gil traversed down the bustling streets of the south side of town. There were a lot of different stores this time around from what Gil remembered. Then again, he tried not coming down unless necessary and even so, didn't really pay attention. But it seemed that previous construction were completed, old business replaced with new ones, and quaint pop up shops and stores were rejeuvinating the life of this usually quiet town. It was becomming more lively.
For once Gil was in no hurry to complete his grocery shopping now tha another thought preoccupied his mind. What could he get for Ramganas?
This led to a subsequent train of trying to recall every detail of his lover all at once. What was his favorite color? His daily routine? Did he complain about needing anything recently? What could really express Gil's appreciation?
Ramganas had always been so attentive to Gil's needs, especially as Gil was trying to work through his own blocks of amnesia caused from past traumas.
When no answers started jumping out, Gil could feel his frustration settling in. But he was determined to bring a gift back one way or another, and that desire was stronger than his own disappointment in himself.
"Maybe I'll just browse until I see something that Ram would like."
Gil perused the store fronts, peeking through windows for the type of contents each had held. And with each item, he thought how it would relate to Ramganas. One window particularly caught his eye. A window of fantastically decorated watches.
"Oh! Perhaps this would do!" As much as Ramganas was meticulously detail-oriented when it came to Gil, he was rather absent minded about his own affairs. Often this would result in Ramganas having a rather laid-back approach to time for his own appointments.
"He can finally keep proper timing with this.--" but no sooner than he got his hopes up imagining his lover's happy face, he recalled that Ramganas had mention that one of the phone's capabilities was to display the time, as well as setting off alarms when needed. It already would have the functional ability to meet Ramganas's needs. Dejectedly, Gil pulled himself away from the storefront window and carried on.
As Gil continued his search with an even stronger determination, chiming notes tickled his ears. Following the direction for the source he spotted and open table vendor selling hand carved musical boxes.
"Ramganas loves music!" Gil proclaimed excitedly to himself. In fact Ramganas was a lover of all the arts and Gil had the joy of being taken to museum and concert dates.
"Perhaps I should get him a music box."
And then, Gil once again recalled Ramganas's all-too-thorough phone demonstration. It could play it too and Ram had already taken the liberty of installing an extensive music library into it.
With another heavy sigh, Gil pressed on.
Gil's mind wound faster and faster. What started as a leisurely day out was quickly becoming stressful as Gil's ideas for a peefect gift one by one were being upstaged by a new technology he had yet to figure out. "There's got to be something I can get that this thing can't already do."
A camera? No Ram already demonstrated the great photographic features of the thing using Gil as his personal model. A journal or art sketchbook? Nope, these things apparently had "apps" that could accomplish the task with no mess.
Nothing. Nothing Gil could think of this blasted brick couldn't already accomplish for Ramganas. All of which Ramganas already knew how to access whereas Gil still had much to learn.
Finally with a huff Gil decided to give up for now and at least accomplish what he had set out to do. Making his way to the familiar part of town where the food markets were located, Gil executed his best skill for the task which a phone certainly couldn't replicate, finding the best deals and bargains for all their necessary grocery items.
Once the necessary tasks were accomplished, Gil readied himself for the trek back. There was no longer any reason to linger, and he just about convinced himself in defeat for his side mission of acquiring a present for Ramganas.
But a part of him still didn't want to accept it. There had to be SOMETHING he could get. As if to answer his deepest desire of the moment, a storefront window caught his eye. It was a arts and craft store. Gil stared at it for a good long moment before the idea hit him.
"Of course! A phone certainly cannot replicate a hand-crafted item!" The thought of victory over technology pleased him and he went inside...
~~~
Ramganas heaved a tired sigh as his day's work came to an end. It was past sunset, the errands took much longer than he would have liked. With the sweat dripping down from the heat of the day, dealing with rude personalities, and being beyond hungry at this point, there was nothing he wanted more than to be home this instant with his sweet lover. He really wanted to hear Gil's voice right now.
A small grin crossed his face. Maybe he should give a pop quiz to test his boyfriend's knowledge of using the phone. He popped his own out and began dialing the digits.
Ring
Ring
Ring
"The number you are calling is not available. Please leave a message after the beep."
"That's strange... but maybe he just doesn't know how to answer. Let me try again."
No answer. Again and again.
A sudden fear crept under his skin. Why wasn't Gil answering? What if something happened to him?
The moment that thought entered his mind, Ramganas began to sprint his way back. *Please be okay!!*
At the door, Ramganas's fingers fumbled anxiously for the keys as he unlocked the door and threw it open.
"GIL!!"
The sight that greeted him was... not what he expected.
Gil, sitting on the floor, wide-eyed and frozen from the sudden burst, and seemingly entagled in... ribbons?
Ramganas stood with mouth slightly agape, "What is going on?"
"I.." Gil started, "I was trying to...But it didn't.. I didn't know how to...." the cat-like lover averted his gaze in shame and embarassment as he tried go hold back tears from falling. "... for you..." he managed to squeeze out in a pathetic mew.
In that moment Ramganas understood. His tall form swept across the room and wrapped his arms around his lover. "You are the greatest gift I have ever received." He squeezed tightly and could feel warm drops of wetness fall on his shoulder. Letting go to get a good look at the face of the one trying so hard to please him, "And look! You even gift-wrapped yourself up for me!" Ramganas laughed, which helped ease Gil into a small smile.
"That... wasn't my plan but glad you like my gift." Gil responded through a tear-soaked smile.
"Always." Ramganas whispered as he softly kissed Gil's forehead, then drew his face in close to kiss his lover's lips passionately.
As they gazed into each other's eyes filled with love and passion, Gil smiled and whispered softly, "care to help untie me now?"
At this suggestion Ramganas smirked mischeivously, "Opening gifts is my favorite part. How about we continue this in the bedroom?" Without waiting for a response, Ramganas scooped Gil's body into his arms and carried him princess-style into his room, making sure to close the door behind.
On Point With: DJ Ted Bishop Nieves
Tumblr media
The newly-anointed Mr. Fire Island Bear 2018 is actually a veteran nightlifer and DJ in this city, breaking through during the days of ball houses and big clubs. He shares a bit of his history with Thotyssey, and hints at some amazing stuff to come.
Thotyssey: Ted, hello! Happy Pride! And of course, a big congrats on winning Mr. Fire Island Bear at Cherry’s on the Bay this past weekend!
DJ Ted Bishop Nieves: Thank you so much, Jim.
How good did that win feel? It really felt amazing to win. I'll be honest, I'm still in a bit of shock. It was really quite a surprise for me to be entering the contest, and it blew my mind when I won. It was an amazing rush of joy that I really can't describe.
Have you done contests before this one?
My first "contest" was actually just a few weeks ago during the Urban Bear street festival run by Robert Valin and his Urban Bear team. They had their first ever Mr. Urban Bear Contest, and I had enough liquor in me to give me the bravery to enter. I ended up winning on the strength of my lip sync performance, lol! That contest, of course, was all in good fun and I enjoyed that immensely.
Tumblr media
And now look at you, you’re a pageant queen! How did the Fire Island Bear contest go... what was required of you?
It was pretty intense. The first part of the contest actually took place several hours before the event at Cherry's. Each of the contestants who signed up ahead of time sat with the judges for a pretty intense Q&A.
After that we had the event at Cherry's, and there we had to present two outfits: a "bar night" look followed by a fetish outfit. That was pretty amazing and difficult. I'm sometimes very shy, and had a hard time getting up the courage to go up there. Once I dd though, there was no going back.
youtube
So the bear world--and nightlife in general--knows you best as a DJ, which we’ll get to a bit. But first, let’s start at the beginning: where’s your  hometown, and what were you into growing up?
I was born and raised here in the South Bronx, where I was surrounded by a lot of loud family and friends! Many of them were loud because they were musicians, so I developed a love of music pretty early on. And that was really what I was into as a kid: music.
The kids I grew up with in the neighborhood all played together after school, and most of the day during the summer. I was the one who always had the boom box with him, playing the loud music as we played handball, slugs, red light / green light, or all the other games a lot of us played as kids.
What were you listening to?
Back then I loved it all. My sister introduced me to disco, but I also listened to rock, country, and just about any other genre that was showcased on Kasey Kasem's American Top 40 radio show. Haha! Do people still know that existed?
I bet they don’t!
Tumblr media
How did you discover nightlife?
I was probably about 16 years-old, and like a lot of kids in the Bronx I decided to get working papers, and had worked a few jobs around my immediate neighborhood... stock boy, and stuff like that. But at 16, I got a job at Alexander’s department store. One day while riding the train, I caught an older man checking me out, and he got off at the same stop as I. We started speaking, and he told me about a place called the Pier. He asked if I wanted to check it out. I said yes, and we exchanged numbers and we stayed in touch.
That Friday after work, he picked me up for what I thought would be my first date with a man, but turned into my first class in NYC nightlife and drag and voguing and houses. That night I got the education of a lifetime, and he told me we'd do it again the following night.
That next night, instead of the Pier, we went to the legendary Tracks Nightclub on 19th Street. I stepped foot into that club, and it felt like I was home.That began my love affair with NYC's gay nightlife.
Over the years, I would be able to experience The Saint, Red Zone, The Copacabana, The World, Mars, my favorite of all time Sound Factory, and The Roxy. These places were my home, and I felt connected to them like nothing else.
Tumblr media
Were you voguing yourself, and turning lewks?
Ha! No, I never did master voguing, and was very shy back then. Never tried to draw too much attention to myself. But the LEWKS my friends would turn! Gurrrrrl. They were epic! Especially at Red Zone and The Tunnel.
Did you have a favorite Ball House?
Well, ALL the houses knew how to turn it in their own way. They all had it going on, so I wouldn't say I had a favorite house. However, you were always guaranteed crazy heights of entertainment when the Magnifiques, Aviances and Extravaganzas were in attendance at Sound Factory.
Is the new show Pose accurate in its portrayal of that time, from what little has aired so far?
I would say that yes, it's quite accurate as far as depicting the scene and the struggles of the people who were part of it.  It's really quite spot on.
Tumblr media
How did you ultimately get into DJing?
So, DJing started when I was pretty young. It's actually the reason I started working as a kid; I wanted to buy my own DJ equipment, and I did. I started teaching myself around 15-16, but it wasn't until my late 30's that I grew the balls to try and do something with it outside of it being a hobby.
Did you ever try using a DJ moniker before deciding to just go by your (presumably) actual name?
My real name is Ted Nieves. I decided to use “DJ Bishop” back in the 90s, when the X-Men introduced this character named Bishop, who absorbed energy and converted it into concussive force. I've always felt that a DJ absorbs the energy from the crowd and turns it back to them as concussive beats, so it seemed appropriate. Later on, as I started working, I added it to my own name in order to help spread my brand.
As of right now, what do you enjoy spinning most when given the freedom to do whatever?
Oooh. I'm seriously feeling my Afro and tech house vibes when left to my own devices. Those beats just get right under your skin, and drive your hips into madness.
Tumblr media
What have been some highlights for you, or major moments, DJing venues in this city over the years?
Oh, that's a really hard question... but I think that I can narrow it down a bit! The first major milestone for me was when G Lounge asked me to be part of their now legendary DiLF party, promoted by Mark Lander and Franco DiLuzio.
Next would be getting to be part of the team of DJs that work with NYC promoters Antonio Cedeno and Shane Tate. It's always an honor to be listed as a part of their teams. Also, being a part of the Fire Island Bear Weekend has been amazing. I've played the opening party two years in a row, and loved every minute of it.
Finally, now being able to have my own party in partnership with John-John Punki (Mr. Eagle 2017) at Rockbar. Those are really some of my proudest moments.
Tumblr media
Did you ever think the bear scene would become as huge as it is today?
Yes. The bear community was built out of a need for acceptance. The level of shaming and prejudice in the gay community has always been really bad. We're all aware that, often, the oppressed become the oppressors. Well, it is certainly true in the gay community. We are oppressed, so we need to oppress those who are larger than we think they should be, or skinnier than we think they should be, or who have a different color skin than we find attractive... and it goes on and on.
That doesn't mean, of course, that it's always love and light within the Bear Community. But I have certainly experienced more love and acceptance here than I have in the other aspects of gay life that I've experienced.
And with that said, that is why I believed from the beginning it would be a growing community. Who doesn't want to walk into a room of people that all look different, and not feel like they are judging you? Man, that's heaven right there.
Tumblr media
Okay, that brings us to the gigs. First off, there’s the Pride edition of Soaked at Rockbar in the West Village on Friday, June 15. John-John appears,  J. Rios and Matty B. host, Viva Vidalia performs, and dudes in underwear get wet for our entertainment. This monthly has been a huge success for Rockbar!
This is actually my debut with the Soaked team, so I'm super excited about it. What makes it even more special is that there is a full upgrade of the sound system at Rockbar that [manager] Jason Romas and I worked on. It's going to be the official unveiling of that, and I can't wait to blow people's socks off with that sound.
Tumblr media
And you'll be back with John-John at Rockbar for your actual monthly, Purgatory, on June 28th! Hey, why aren''t we calling it FURgatory?
LOL, we had originally wanted to use a different name, but had to change it at the last minute. “Purgatory” was whet we came up with because that sounded sexy and naughty, and it kinda stuck. But maybe we should put it to a vote and see if people would like us to change it to FUR-gatory.  What do you think?
Either works! What's the scene like?
It's a really fun vibe. The party takes place right after RuPaul’s Drag Race, so people are really happy (usually) and very chatty after the show. We like to carry that vibe over, and slowly make it sexier. I bring a blend of pop, house, and EDM to the event, and I keep it sexy with our gogo dancers. We've had awesome response to the event, and are excited to continue and see how it goes.
Tumblr media
And tell us about (r)Evolution at the Hangar, also in the West Village. It looks that venue is trying to have more defined nights there (named parties, established DJs, some drag, etc).
Yes. (r)Evolution Saturdays at The Hangar was born out of them wanting to have a legit, full-on house music event that catered to the classic house heads, and the new kids that are still discovering what real house music is. DJ Mando and myself talked about it, and determined the sounds we wanted. We worked with management to come up with an official name for the event to start branding it, and breathe new life into this NYC gay nightlife fixture.
There are a few plans to really begin fleshing out some other nights as well. As you know, the Hangar has been a haven for many of our brothers and sisters of color for decades now, and yet so many people don't even know about it. I mean, can you believe that this coming Pride march, they will be celebrating 25 years of service to our community?
Amazing!
Tumblr media
So, anything else coming up for you?
Well, along with Soaked and (r)Evolution this week, I have Purgatory next. And Pride Sunday is a double-header for me playing at Rebar from 2-9pm for their annual Pride celebration, followed by The Hangar's Annual Pride and 25th Year anniversary celebration. So, it's a jam-packed June for me.
Nice! Enjoy the gigs! Okay, last question: What should a young, new DJ do when trying to make a career in this business?
Work hard and promote yourself.  No one will believe you if you don't believe it yourself.
Thanks, Ted!
Tumblr media
DJ Ted Bishop Nieves spins weekly Saturdays at The Hangar NYC (10pm), and last Thursdays at Rockbar for Purgatory (10pm). Check Thotyssey’s calendar for all his scheduled gigs, and follow DJ Ted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Vans releases new comfy sneakers that feel 'like you’re walking on a cloud'
Tumblr media
Vans unveils new ComfyCush technology for the classic Era style. (Photo: Courtesy of Vans)
Comfort and style stride side by side with Vans’ latest footwear launch. The new ComfyCush Era sneakers, the company says, feel as if “you’re walking on a cloud.” Vans has been working on thenew comfort-based technology since 2016, and it’s now finally ready to be shared with the world, starting with the classic Era style.
The original Era sneakers first debuted in 1976, 10 years after the Vans company was founded in Anaheim, Calif. Interestingly, the sneakers were designed by two skateboarders: Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. The Eras feature a low, top-lace structure, durable double-stitched canvas upper, padded tongue and waffle outsole.
The decision to launch ComfyCush was simple. It’s about diversifying Vans’ available options. “Our consumers make us who we are today, so by listening closely, we built exactly what they were asking for,” Matt Pino, Vans’ global footwear category manager tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “More comfort without sacrificing style, which led to pushing the innovation of the Era to the next level. We’ve been working on this technology since 2016, really focused around a rubber product (foam) that was designed specifically for comfort.”
Tumblr media
Aesthetically, the new ComfyCush Era sneakers look exactly like the original. The ComfyCush elements are hidden within the foundation and structure of shoes. They feature new tongue tie-down elastic straps that help “improve the overall fit and feel,” says Pino. “It eliminates the possibility of the tongue sliding to either the medial or lateral side of the foot.” There’s additional arch support and a new foam and rubber cushion and grip that help keep your feet more comfortable all day long.
Bridging the gap between comfort and style seems like a no-brainer, especially for a brand like Vans, which is competing with the juggernauts Adidas, Converse and Nike. “It’s important our consumers know we aren’t asking them to trade off any of our icons, but that we are simply providing them with an option that may meet the need of a particular lifestyle — that doesn’t compromise style,” says Pino.
Three Yahoo Lifestyle editors put the new ComfyCush Era sneakers to the test. Read our firsthand reviews below.
Editor test:
“I’ve been a Vans fan ever since I was a teen. I can still remember walking through my high school hallways, past the rows of burnt-orange lockers, wearing my trusty pair of navy-blue Era sneakers. I wore them until they were smudged with dirt and the blue canvas started to wear away. Still, I didn’t care. I loved them. Now, hearing that Vans is making my favorite sneakers more comfortable? I had to try them out.
“Over the weekend, I tested the new Vans ComfyCush Era sneakers while visiting my boyfriend in upstate New York. At first glance, I loved the off-white and checkered design. I don’t usually wear white sneakers, but the print and Vanilla shade felt refreshing, yet still inherently Vans. The real ‘treat’ came when I placed my feet inside the shoes. On Sunday, I spent the afternoon going to brunch, grocery shopping at Wegmans, and ended the day catching a flight back to Manhattan. There were even times I wore them on the icy snow patches that lined the Syracuse streets. I was surprised to find how well they kept up through it all. No slippage! My feet stayed dry and warm even in these harsh conditions (because let’s be real, they weren’t intended to be worn in the snow).
“Throughout my day, I noticed how consistently sturdy the footbeds felt and how soft the cushions were that supported my ankles. I’m someone who has wide feet, and they never once felt too tight around my toes, which is a big plus. In my experience, they’re perfect for running errands and traveling in, but most importantly — walking in. I think the longer I wear them, the more they will mold to my feet, too. The final verdict? They’re keepers. I now have a reason to bring these beloved sneakers back into my life.”
“This was my first time ever wearing a pair of Vans, and the experience was far from what I had expected. I’d previously had my eye on the brand’s classic slip-on sneakers — as a new mom, I need shoes that are simple to get on and off when taking care of an infant. I gave the ComfyCush Era sneakers a trial run on a busy Saturday: My schedule included a Baby & Me yoga class, shopping at Whole Foods and tidying up at home. With my son all set in his car seat, and the Lyft driver just four minutes away from picking us up, I was surprised at how easy it was to get quickly dressed in the kicks.
“The slender cut fit my narrow feet perfectly. Not to mention, after gaining roughly an extra half size in foot length post-pregnancy, I still managed to have enough toe space in the shoes. As I maneuvered around the grocery store with a stroller and no shopping basket, I soon learned why these sneakers carry the ComfyCush title: They make your feet like you’re gliding on air.
“The thick sole also managed to help with my posture, forcing me to stand straighter and walk with even more confidence. And with all the bending down I had to do to pick up my son or his teething toys, the fabric of the shoe didn’t awkwardly bend or bulk.”
“While I love the subtle checkerboard design of the Marshmallow and True White colorway I tested, I wouldn’t sport these every day, simply because it would be too difficult to keep them pristine. So overall, I’m giving these ComfyCush Era Vans 4 out of 5 stars!”
Adrianna Barrionuevo, Yahoo Lifestyle senior beauty editor
“I’ve been a Vans loyalist for as long as I can remember. I would go as far as to call myself a Vans aficionado. So when I heard about the new Vans ComfyCush Era sneakers, I was beyond excited to slip on a pair of my favorite style. While I wasn’t skateboarding or strolling down to TK Burger in my old home of Newport Beach, Calif., I was navigating the busy streets of Manhattan to make it to Central Park for off-leash hours with my pup.
As soon as I took my first few steps, I noticed a difference in comfort level. From my heel to my toes, I felt much more supported and cozy compared to previous styles I’ve worn. I ended up wearing my sneakers all day long, clocking in a total of about 15,000 steps, and my feet felt comfortable every step of the way (even when I had to chase my pup to get him back on the leash to head home). I would recommend these to anyone looking for a stylish, yet casual shoe, whether they’re skateboarding or strolling around the city.”
How a guy who sold phones at a Sprint store landed his dream job in venture capital with just 1 tweet
Twitter/Screenshot
Chacho Valadez hated his job in sales.
One day he sent a tweet to Arlan Hamilton of Backstage Capital asking for book recommendations for aspiring VCs.
That led to a friendly conversation — and a job offer.
  On March 13, 2017, still tired from working on my schoolwork the night before, I was waiting for customers to stroll through the door of our Detroit Sprint store.
My least favorite part about my job as a bilingual sales consultant was helping customers with billing issues — those were never fun, especially when the customer decided to take the company’s issue out on you.
As a way to escape the reality of work, I would scroll through Twitter to keep up with the latest tech news and venture capitalists that I followed.
The previous December I had discovered Arlan Hamilton of Backstage Capital and appreciated the strong voice she had on Twitter.
I decided to send her a DM asking for advice and book recommendations as an aspiring VC
I was like a wide-eyed kid in awe over their favorite athlete when I saw her response. Her recommendation: Venture Deals by Brad Feld and Jason Mendelson. Naturally, I hopped on Amazon that minute and was reading the book two days later.
To my surprise, Arlan ended up following me back on Twitter. Arlan is the Founder and Managing Partner of Backstage Capital, a seed-stage investment firm that invests in underestimated founders.
You could imagine the excitement I had coming home from work and telling my wife all about my latest Twitter follower.
To her surprise, I came home from work not complaining for once.
As the son of an immigrant, seeing my dad build a life for himself in the United States has always inspired me.
I feel this drive and thankfulness deep in my stomach just thinking about it. In spite of my current job, I would often (and still do) daydream about running my own VC firm helping Latinx entrepreneurs accomplish their dreams. I knew I had to start somewhere, so I began thinking about starting a blog or podcast focused on Latinx founders.
One night I tweeted looking for advice and suggestions for my idea.
Arlan sent me a DM and said she would like to chat with me
At the time, she was looking for an executive assistant to help with her busy schedule. After a few exciting phone conversations with her talking VC, podcasts, tech, and more, she offered me a job on a part-time/trial basis. I was blown away! I was taking my first steps into the world of venture capital.
I started working remotely for Backstage in May, while still working full-time at Sprint and being enrolled full-time in online classes. It was a grind.
_I would wake up early for some school work, head to work at Sprint, back home for more school, and finally, late in the evening, I’d work on my Backstage projects — the best part of my day.
I had been thinking about quitting my job at Sprint in hopes that Backstage would turn into a full-time job, but I had zero guarantee of that happening.
Sometimes in life to achieve your dreams, you have to find the confidence to take big risks without knowing the full scope of the outcome.
After a long and particularly frustrating, retail customer-riffic Sunday, I decided I had had enough. It was time to take action.
If I could devote more of my time and energy into what I loved and less of my time and energy into the frustrations at my day job, then I could go on full-stride towards my dreams of becoming a VC. I put in my two-week’s notice the following day.
I texted Arlan to let her know that I had quit my job at Sprint to dedicate myself to Backstage.
She was surprised but also taken aback by the serendipity of it all; she and Christie had been discussing the idea of bringing me onto the team full-time.
Sometimes in life to achieve your dreams, you have to find the confidence to take big risks without knowing the full scope of the outcome.
Since making the leap, I’ve been working as an Investment Apprentice to Arlan and Mentor Program Coordinator at Backstage
To my wife’s continued delight, I’m not frustrated and grumbling about work anymore. Most days at Backstage are never the same; I could be traveling with Arlan to a speaking engagement, sitting in a pitch meeting with Christie, onboarding mentors into our ecosystem, helping Bryan with events and brand marketing, or working on deal memos.
I am given the opportunity to wear many hats in order to learn and grow. And although I’m getting more entrenched in Silicon Valley and other tech hubs across the country, I’m enjoying getting involved with the growing, local Detroit tech scene.
So there you have it. I now have my dream job — learning how to become a VC from some of the most creative, open-minded VCs in the business. Arlan and Christie are my Socrates, and I am their Plato.
For fans of The Office, you could say they’re my Michael Scott, and I’m their Dwight Schrute … or whatever metaphor you’d like to use.
Like many other Latinx folks in the U.S., I am a second-generation immigrant with a minimal professional network. It’s not always easy finding people who see your potential, take a chance, and give you an “at bat”.
I will be forever grateful for, and humbled by, Arlan for picking the kid on the bench to step up to the plate and swing for the fences.
My heart belongs to the Latinx community. I hope to support anyone who wants to start their own company, raise their first round of funding, or land a job in tech.
I encourage you to keep striving. Keep grinding. Keep sharing your voice! If I had not taken the time to share my thoughts and dreams, I wouldn’t be in the position that I’m in today. You never know who is listening.
Backstage Capital is on a mission to invest in underestimated founders — 100 by 2020, to be exact. If you are Latinx and are interested in what we are up to at Backstage, get in contact with me: chacho [at] backstagecapital [dot] com or find me on Twitter @chachovaladez.
What is all this VR, AR, MR stuff? My last day at SXSW 2017.
I spent my final day of South By Southwest on the VR/AR track. It was the official open for those sessions, but it would be the only one of the three days I could experience. As much as I would have loved to learn more, I’d arrived on March 10th for the start of the design sessions, so having even a single day of the AR/VR was great.
As I said, though, it was the only day I’d have with this emerging technology space, so I wanted to get the most out of it. That boiled down to a series of lines (how shocking!). Starting at 11 AM, I bounced from session to session. I was thankful that most of my rooms were in the JW Marriot, as it helped ease my schedule. The day went something like this:
Speed walk to venue.
Hop in long line. Ask at least three people and a volunteer if I was in the right line (when they bend around corners, it’s hard to tell).
Stand for 10–15 minutes.
Bounce into the next line over when I hear I’m in the wrong line.
Stand for 30–45 minutes.
Talk to people in the surrounding area to keep boredom from creeping in (after all, talking to new people is some of the fun).
Go into session.
Get my “sardine” on (they really cram us into those rooms).
Furiously take notes.
Run to bathroom.
Sprint to corner store for an over-priced, pre-packaged sandwich and be grateful to have anything to eat in line.
Hop into next line which already has 50–100 people in it.
All of this became so normal over the last week that it the oddest part of the day was when my group went for dinner and we didn’t have to wait in line… at all.
Of the five sessions I tackled, only one was on a topic other than VR/AR. Titled “Lo-Fi Museum Moments in a Digital World,” this was the only specifically-museum session I attended. I didn’t have any lightbulb moments, though, so I’ll skip over that one to get into VR.
Participants sit in one of around twenty different VR booths.
Before I get into today’s sessions, a little about the differences between VR, AR and MR for context.
The Oculus Rift. Photo courtesy of Oculus.com
VR — Virtual Reality: immerses a single user (almost exclusively) in a virtual world. This means completely shutting out the real world by way of vision. VR may also incorporate sound, movement, and sometimes feelings (i.e. wind blowing on your face). This is primarily used for gaming right now, but film makers are stepping into the space at a rapid rate.
The Birdly uses movement, wind, action, sound, and visuals to create their VR world.
The Microsoft HoloLens. Photo courtesy of Microsoft.
AR — Augmented Reality: combines the real world and the virtual world in seamless and interactive ways. While this technology is still in it’s theoretical infancy, progress is rapid. Ultimately, this will be a lifestyle product which you use even more than your smartphone. Most daily interactions with people, products, brands, etc. will filter through your personal AR device.
MR — Mixed Reality: this is a term which can, for all intents and purposes, be interchanged with AR. With this space emerging as rapidly as it has, businesses and consumers have yet to settle on a consistent name. As it stands, AR seems to be the favored term, but perhaps Apple will settle the debate by naming theirs the iAR.
I’ll apologize for the stock imagery used. Surprisingly, this batch of sessions opted for visual-less presentations. I found it odd considering the industry, but it did help me focus on the content. For the sake of giving credit where credit is due, the photo at the beginning of this blog is courtesy of Microsoft.
OK, onto the good stuff!
A common theme among the panels was about how much this industry will alter the way in which we interact with absolutely everything. While that may seem obvious, let’s dive into it a bit deeper.
We currently live in digital 2D spaces. Facebook is 2D (even the 360 videos are viewed on 2D). Texting is 2D. FaceTime is 2D. Now, imagine all of that, and more, in a 3D space. How would web design change if instead of up/down and left/right scrolling, the actual webpage took up a 3D space? What if you learned physically? Instead of studying pictures of human anatomy, you got to look at all parts of a human body — inside and out — while the interface assisted you.
This will actually be a more natural interaction for us, as we physically operate in 3D, so the transitions should be pretty easy (and freaking cool!).
This brings me to a poignant moment from one of the sessions. While we are all currently excited for the possibilities and the fun of swimming underwater as part of a new video game, practical and long term application has yet to be created. I believe it was Mark Cuban who said it, but forgive me I’m wrong, as I heard it third hand, but AR/VR will not have “arrived” until we do mundane and boring things with it.
So, who and how are we determining what these mundane and boring things? I’m sure there’s think tanks pulling all-nighters contemplating how we’ll be able to use our toaster by blinking, and research is already being done in drastically different industries.
The medical community has discovered VR is more effective than morphine for pain management in the burn units.
Following a year of VR therapy, paraplegics participating in a study began to regain control of certain functions, such as bladder control.
While I am unable to cite these studies since they were discussed briefly in a session, just imagine the power these technologies may bring to changing our physical being.
Image courtesy of The Medical Futurist.
What will we learn about each other?
An interesting concept came up in my very last SXSW session. A fellow on the panel, by the name of Ola Bjorling, was in the midst of discussing how film makers will go about changing the movie industry and how a new time of videographic research is underway:
what might we learn about individuals while they are in private experiences.
when no one else is looking, what do you choose to view within your virtual space?
More to the point regarding filming and controlling a person’s viewpoint during a 360 experience, he advised videographers and directors to be less concerned with whether they can successfully control the public’s 15° of focus. As he put it, “if you have an interesting scene over here, and the viewers opts to stare at a blank wall, he has other issues.”
They are predicting that within just four years, you may be able to watch your favorite sports team play a game on your kitchen table. Image courtesy of Microsoft.
A few things I will remember going into the future (feel free to use these for yourself, too):
I don’t think we will be able to “opt out” of this one. Whereas some have chosen to keep their old flip phones instead of upgrading to a smartphone, I doubt that will be an option, going forward. Not only will more and more items begin to incorporate technology, this new tech will undoubtedly be a requirement for operating in the real world (i.e. unmanned checkout counters).
Maybe hold off on any new facial piercings for a while. Until we get a more stable form to the wearables, we can’t predict how they’ll sit on our faces/bodies. Certain existing headsets get caught on my nose stud, and I don’t think the visual result is pleasing for anyone involved.
These spaces are new. We need to be both patient and impatient. Patience allows us to get the quality products we want while giving the infrastructure space to catch up. Impatience is what’s driving the industry forward.
Keep some Pepto nearby when using the current VR headsets. Poorly shot video will lead to “hurl moments” every time.
Expose kids to these things. They will live in this future world longer than us, so let’s give them a leg up.
Here ends my daily SXSW 2017 blogs. I don’t think I made too much of a dink of myself in Austin, and I only have about eight new bruises to prove my speed walking is not yet up to par. All-in-all, a successful and rewarding journey (I say as I smack my head on an overhead cabinet).
What is all this VR, AR, MR stuff? My last day at SXSW 2017. was originally published in Austin Startups on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
Heyyy good day everyone so, uhm I’m Jacqueline Jacob and it’s my first time to create a blog post guys so please support me💓❤️. So, I’ll describe myself guys, I’m cute(but I’m the only one who’s saying that because whenever I tell this to my friends they say I’m the only one who knows about it and they always ask me where part of my face is cute because they cannot see it) like duhh guys I’m so cute you know hahahaha wait until you see my face haha. So that, I am cute, I’m short( that’s why my friends are always teasing me and they keep on telling me that I’m a dwarf) seriously guys? I’m not that small duhh I love my height, I’m sooo skinny guys that’s my biggest problem in my body, I’m kind of gluttonous(shh) but I still don’t gain weight and it’s so frustrating because I can’t buy the clothes that I like because it doesn’t look good on me, my dear body what is your problem(insert angry tone here guys haha) I think my metabolism is too fast. And most of all guys I’m a wattpad reader and I write love stories and poem but I hide my works because I’m afraid people won’t like it and I’m so afraid just by thinking that they will judge my work. You know that guys? you put a lot of effort on your work but they can’t even appreciate it instead they judge it and say so many hurtful words to the author. It sucks how people appreciate you(insert sarcastic tone here). And guys who’s a wattpader out their? omg pm me if you’re a wattpader, let’s talk about the stories you’ve read already!! It would be fun guys hahaha. But beware guys I am crazy, a cute but crazy girl hahaha(lol just joking) sometimes I am childish, sometimes I am serious, no one can predict what would be my mood(I’m a bipolar guys shh🤭🤭) hahaha. My friends usually call me crazy because I just laugh out loud out of nowhere and I don’t even know what am I laughing at hahaha so guys am I really crazy? please tell me I’m not (insert begging eyes here). Oh and I almost forget guys I’m just 16 years old(but I look more younger because of my height hahaha) and I’m a senior high school student from St. Paul University of the Philippines or sometimes they call it SPUP. I was born on July 24,2004(the day where the cutest was born hahaha stop it self you’re not cute) and guys I’m a Daddy’s girl, I love my father than my mother because my mother is always scolding me while my father always pampered me but it has a limit hahaha kidding aside, I love them both💕💕. So guys please support me? pretty please(puppy eyes). I know you can’t resist my cuteness now hahaha, I love you all guys I hope you appreciate my effort in writing this❤️.
So guy’s this questions that I will be answering has been asked by my teacher Sir Carlos Babaran, Good Day sir😊😊:
So let’s start now guy’s
1. Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Is my learning in SPUP vital to where I’m leading to?
So as I am contemplating with myself, I’ve realized that I can see myself 10 years from now in a plane while assisting all the passengers. Because seriously guys, since I dream of touring to every part of the world and I dreamed of riding a plane that’s why I want to be a flight attendant. And yes, of course my learning in SPUP is vital to where I’m leading to because I can use that learning to be my guide to where I’m leading to, I’ll use that to live my dreams in the near future.
okay so this is the second question guys
2. Was ABM the best choice afterall?
YES, for me it’s a yes because ABM contains the learning that I would need when I will go to college. Also in ABM I will learn how to run a business and I can use that learning if ever there is a change in my plans in the future.
number 3 guys
3. What course will you take in college and why?
The course that I will take in college is tourism. Why? It’s simple guys, I love to tour and as I say on my answer in the number one question, I love to tour and it’s my dream since I was still a child.
And here goes number 4 guys, actually this is just a five questions so don’t worry guys get a little more patience to read my blog hahaha so here it is;
4. What topic would you like to learn more in this subject?
So since this subject is empowerment technology, and technology means different types of technologies that we use in everyday life, I want to learn more on how to use computers, the every part of it, and how to use it. Because honestly guys, I’m not good in using computers. There’s a lot more I want to learn like how to create an app, how to access in different sites, and omg guys I really want to learn how to hack an account. I won’t use it for illegal guys even if I know that hacking is already illegal in online world haha, I just want to learn it because I envy those people I watched in every movies, it’s like it’s so cool.
so we’re in the last questions guys and I can almost hear you saying, “Finally!” hahaha
5. What the corona virus has taught you about life?
What corona has taught me about life is it is important to take care of your health. It’s important to be cautious every day because it’s not just ourselves that we are talking about, corona virus can also involve our whole family without us noticing it. We all should learn how to clean our surroundings, not just our surroundings but also ourselves. Always wash and disinfect your whole body.
My first favourite movie is THE VOW
Then after how many weeks or months of dating and courting, they decided to get married. Paige can’t remember Leo as her husband, she can’t remember all of their 4 years together and all she could remember is her life where she still hasn’t met Leo. Paige’s parents doesn’t agree on their relationship that’s why they want Paige to live with them, but Leo tried to pursue Paige to live with him and Paige gave it a try. But when she really can’t remember anything while she’s living with Leo, she decided to go back to her family and her family take advantage of her situation to go back to them. But Leo still tried to woo Paige, he asked her on a date, bring her on their favourite cafe and on their favourite spot but it seems like Paige like to be with her ex-fiancee Jeremy so Leo gave up on Paige and they got divorced. But after all of those struggles in their life, Paige manages to go in the right path, she became an artist again but she didn’t have the chance to regain her memories.
TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE OUT THEIR WHO HAVEN’T WATCHED THIS MOVIE, WATCH IT GUYS IT’S VERY INTERESTING AND WORTH YOUR TIME (SMILES)
SO HERE’S MY ANSWER FOR THE GUIDE QUESTIONS ABOVE:
1. The life lessons that can be learned from this movie is all married couple would end up happy. There is no such thing as fairy tales because not all of the couples end up together. There are a lot of circumstances that may happen on every couples relationship, just like what happen to Paige and Leo, Leo tried to fight for their relationship but it doesn’t work out because Paige can’t remember him. But at least, Paige tried to remember her past.
2. For me, the most powerful part in the movie is when Leo gave up on Paige. Because even though he really loved her, he still managed to let her go and continue his life without her.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Leo because he is so strong and very determined to help Paige remember him. I envy him for being understandable, loving, and caring husband, he always understands Paige even if it already hurts him.
4. It’s the part where Leo tried y pursue Paige but he gave up on the end. It reminds me of my experience when I want to go somewhere with my friends but my parents doesn’t want me to go, I tried to pursue them but I just gave up on the end because I know that no matter how hard I try to pursue them, I know they would not let me go.
This would my second favourite movie guys:
LOVE, ROSIE
Tumblr media
MOVIE SUMMARY:
Alex Stewart (Sam Cliflin) and Rosie Dunne (Lily Collins) are best of friends since they were just a child. They can’t see theirselves being in love to each other. It was Rosie’s 18th birthday that day and they were partying to celebrate her birthday when she and Alex kissed and then she passed out. Then morning came and the two of them talked, Rosie told Alex to forget hat happened last night like it was just nothing. Alex and Rosie goes to a beach then suddenly Greg, the fittest guy in their batch offered her to take her out on their school dance but Rosie refused his offer because Alex is the one who will take her out. Meanwhile, a certain girl named Bethany came up and showed interest to Alex so Rosie told Alex to make Bethany her partner on their upcoming school dance and she will go with Greg.
The day for their school dance come, Greg and Rosie get a private room and something happen between them. Alex’s father told him to go Harvard to study medicine and then Alex convinced Rosie to take the hotel management course at Boston University. But there comes a problem, Rosie got pregnant even if she’s taking contraceptive pills. He didn’t tell it to Alex because she doesn’t want her to burden him so she just keep it to herself, otherwise she decided to give up the baby for adoption after she gave birth but during her pregnancy she already got attached to the baby. One day, as Rosie and her baby Katie is strolling, she accidentally bump to Bethany and the information about her having a baby reached to Alex so Alex decided to pay her a visit and ask Rosie if he could be Katie’s godfather.
In America, Alex met a posh girl and he lived in with her. But it seems like there is something wrong with her attitude so he called Rosie and convinced her to come see him. But things between them didn’t go well because Rosie told him that she can’t see them as good couples and then Alex began to say hurtful words to Rosie and that ends her trip in America and she just returned to her daughter. After that Rosie and Greg get back together while Alex is so devastated because he found out that her girlfriend is cheating on him and got pregnant by some other man. Alex wrote a letter to Rosie about what he feels towards her but Greg saw it and hided it from Rosie. But then Rosie also found out that Greg is cheating on her and soon she found the letter that Alex wrote but it’s already too late for them because Alex and Bethany will soon to get married. On Rosie’s speech on Alex’s wedding day, she told him that she loves him but covers it by saying that it’s just a friendly love. After all of that Rosie starts her own hotel, and then Alex suddenly showed up, they kissed and that is the beginning of their love story that should gave started long back.
AND HERE’S THE MY ANSWER AGAIN FOR THE GUIDE QUESTIONS:
1. The life lesson that can be learned from the movie Love, Rosie is sometimes we don’t see the best thing that ever happened to us, the best person who’s there for us. We keep finding them but what we don’t know is they are just beside us all the time. Rosie and Alex have been best of friends since they were just a child so they take each other for granted and they didn’t know that what they felt for each other is not just a friendly love, Its already true love.
2. The most powerful part for me in the story that has been told is the part where Rosie got pregnant. She’s so strong to handle the situation and she even give up her dreams in Boston and she chooses the baby. Because not all single parents can do that, there are a lot of people who chooses to abort or give for adoption their babies just so they can chase their dreams.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Rosie. Because even if life has been tough on her, she still managed to continue her life, she takes all the risk and she’s ready to face the consequences of her actions.
4. None. There’s no part of the happened that reminds me of something that has occurred in my life or to anybody else.
OKAY SO HERE’S MY LAST BLOG AND MY LAST FAVOURITE MOVIE GUYS I HOPE YOU’LL WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT ALREADY 😊👇:
MY ANNOYING BROTHER
Tumblr media
MOVIE SUMMARY:
This is a South Korean Movie starring Du Yeong Go (D.0 Kyungsoo) and Doo-sik Go (Jo Jung-Suk). Du Yeong Go is a judo athlete who unfortunately damage his optic nerve and lost his sight after his game on the International Event. While his hyung(older brother), Doo-sik Go is a prisoner who applied for release on parole and make his younger brothers situation as an excuse. At first he doesn’t really care about Du Yeong and Du Yeong seems to hate his brother too because Doo-sik always make trouble that really annoys his younger brother. But as time passed by they seemed to be close with each other again. They bond together like they used to do when they were just a child. But one day, Doo-sik discovered that he has a pancreatic cancer so he decided to commit suicide by driving his car so fast, he’s nearly hit by a truck but fortunately he survived. After that he decided to help Du Yeong to train his self together with Du Yeong’s coach to be a national athlete. Then the day for Rio Paralympic Games in Brazil came, while Du Yeong is sitting on the corner, fidgeting because of too much nervousness, his coach told him about his brother’s situation. Du Yeong wants to go back in South Korea for his brother but decided to just make his brothers situation to win. After the Paralympic Games, Du Yeong won the gold medal that he really wants to win since he started being an athlete in Judo.
HERE’S MY ANSWER GUYS:
1. The life lesson that can be learned from the movie My annoying brother is even if you are not in good terms with your brother or any member of your family, always remember that they always there for you. From this movie you will learn how to appreciate your family, and not just that, you will also learn that physical disability won’t stop you to obtain your dreams.
2. For me, the most powerful part that has been told in the story is when Doo-sik motivates his younger brother Du Yeong. Having a brother who can motivate you is so heart touching. They will make you boost your confidence despite your situation.
3. My favourite character in the movie is Doo-sik. Because even though he doesn’t care for his younger brother at first, he still learned to love him and he still took care of him. He’s willing to do anything for his younger brother just to make him happy.
4. Yes, there is. My eldest brother always annoys me, he make fun of me all the time and I hate him for that but if he’s having a fever, I always take care of him and we develop a relationship as brothers and sister, he doesn’t annoy me all the time now.
SO GUYS THIS WOULD BE THE END OF MY BLOG. I’LL SURELY MISS WRITING BLOGS AND I’LL MISS ALL OF YOU WHO READ MY BLOG. I LOVE YOU ALL GUYS💕TAKE CARE ALWAYS🤗BYEEEE GUYS JE T’AIME EVERYONEEEE!!!
