I have to admit that this was an immediate cover buy, and because of the massive hype surrounding the novel. The end pages of this gorgeous book were my favourite part of the cover, and I’m pleased to be adding this into my hardcover collection! The creepy atmosphere and the gothic vibe of this novel was everything! I absolutely adored that house where the majority of the story took place, and I enjoyed that the author took some time to explore the setting, and not just the people. Moving onto the story though, I have to admit that I wasn’t the most interested in the overarching mystery that the novel was based on, and I had a hard time connecting with the majority of the characters. That being said, I really liked the premise that Signa and Death had a connection, right from when she was little, that steadily grew throughout the novel. I like how the author wasn’t shy about exploring the romantic and sexual relationship of the connection later on either, and I think it added a necessary layer of depth into the story.
