Really much interested in the explanation of how a Targaryen prince with the largest dragon in the world & an army backing him, who has slaughtered the family & acquaintances of the same woman he has taken as a prize of war had a consensual sexual relationship with said woman. Especially when it’s coming from the very same people who have, at various occasions posted about “Valyrian white supremacist crown princess girlboss Rhaenyra Targaryen raped the poor MENA, Spanish, Indian, Dornish guard assigned to her by forcing herself on him.”
You would think that in their reasoning that big bad spoiled princess Rhaenyra is the dominant power in her sexual interaction with not so Dornish boy by sole virtue of being a princess … somehow someway they would understand that a dragon riding prince who has enacted violence on any and every acquaintance of Alys Rivers, a lowborn bastard, and then proceed to take her as his own prize of war most likely had a very non-consensual relationship with her.
🤷🏿‍♀️ One cannot rationalize the AemondxAlys shipper who also is a Rhaenyra hater/Criston admirer. Or any Criston admirers/defenders.

I’m probably gonna unfollow all Aemond and probably HOTD blogs in general soon cuz I don’t want to hear or see anything about his woman 🤣 makes me sad to be honest 😢, weird but it does 😂
Hahaha take heart, anon!
Look at it this way, we might see scenes of Aemond being completely whipped and those will be a sight to behold
Or they will hurt the most 😭😭😭 in which case just watch those scenes armed with a bottle of wine (if you're of age!!! 😂)
I dunno what to say, I cannot even comfort myself... how do the Aemond girlies who support AemondxAlys do it??? Asking for a friend... 🤷‍♀️

In light of your recent meta, what do you think about Aemond's relationship with Alys Rivers? Because they are a foil to daemon and rhaenyra as well.
Anon is talking about this POST.
And I answer shortly HERE of what I think about AemondxAlys by themselves, no comparisons.
Characters can be foils to more than one other character. The same is true of fictional relationships. Relationships can let us know more about the personalities and values of the ones involved and compared, therefore fulfilling the purpose of a foil.
I do think that Aemond/Alys are foils to Daemon/Rhaenyra. I also think it’s a foil even to Daemon/Mysaria. Mysaria ratted Daemon out, making as if he was having an affiar with Nettles and thus cannot be used as the absolute “healthy” relationship to contrast Aemonds’ captor-war prize one, Mysaria and Daemon did have much more regard in their time together than Aemon would have had for Alys.
Both men wanted and welcomed kids, it’s clear. Both Mysaria and Alys occupy that role of “women sexually linked to men but not their wives”. However, Alys is a sexual servant/slave while Mysaria either sold her sexual skills to Daemon or she willingly without having to face a real threat of Daemon hurting/killing her. She definitely wanted him.
Rhaenyra also definitely wanted him, and Daemon wanted Rhaenyra for both her position and her herself. I agree with this part of Rhaenyra’s characterization HERE by @alinahams:
Canon Rhaenyra has some set characteristics, namely that she’s proud (of her position, her capabilities and her family name), stubborn (refuses to give up what is rightfully hers, refuses to bow down and take injustice as it happens to her) and very feminine.
[...]
She was never an outcast, just lonely because despite all of her skills and hard work, there were still people she couldn’t please, who never had a kind word to say, her father and King didn’t want to defend her because it caused discord within his marriage, her stepmother the Queen hated her for wanting what was promised to her and she didn’t ask for, she had to smart up and was expected to plot and plan factions/wars and all this while she was a 9 year old child!
But instead of wilting, she fights. Refuses to give up. She’s stubborn, not just by her nature but because she has to be. She has to be strong. She won’t let Alicent and her family take away her birthright or her father (she is as much his priority and more so as his heir than Alicent). She won’t let Alicent’s (and this is very much Alicent’s doing, not Otto’s) rumour mongering spoil her dreams of a happy marriage and family (she is said to express her desire to marry Daemon whom she chose and loved), she won’t let King Viserys’ foolishness/hypocrisy rob her of the chance to love (Daemon and Harwin), she won’t take abuse against her and her children lying down (Daemon is hers, ofc she can command him to fight on her behalf), she won’t forgive the wrongs done to her (she hadn’t done anything to deserve not getting the chance to mourn her father, to lose her only daughter so tragically, to lose her son so violently, to be usurped on account of something she just CAN’T control) and in all these moments, we see her pride and stubbornness. They aren’t necessarily the best character traits but they help her stay strong and keep fighting.
If you go back to the post you’re referring to, she would have a lot in common with Daemon. And she is very willing to be love and be loved. Daemon supports her claim and accepts that she would rule.
Where is anything like this for Aemond and Alys? Alys seems to have a stronger mental fortitude like Rhaenyra does to resist against Tyland’s men and to either use magic or a manipulation of image and parlor tricks. Like Rhaenyra showing herself capable by ruling Dragonstone. But her partner....is not her partner.
