I'm just ready to see more Penguin! I was honestly shocked that he didn't have a bigger role in the story - also that makeup job deserves an Oscar just saying! (2/3)

Colin Farrell is my fave version of Penguin - after Burgess Meredith (I'm the kind of fan who like 60's Batman, UNIRONICALLY) (3/3)

oh lol I must admit I am not a comics girl so I know very little about Oswald outside of the bits I absorbed from Gotham FOX (only watched the first season, but I have some former friends who were obsessed so I kinda vaguely know how the series plays out for him)... if I’m being honest I found Oswald pretty bland in The Batman, although that might be bc his part was a lot smaller than I expected. I was also surprised that his role wasn’t bigger, but it makes sense that The Riddler took center stage, so Oswald and Falcone had to take a bit of a back seat. the ending also gives Oswald the perfect opportunity to grow his empire, so I’m sure he’ll have a bigger role in the future as I’m pretty confident this will lead to a sequel (if not multiple) and there are already potential spinoff shows for HBOMax. I’m definitely intrigued narratively as to where they take the character.

BUT... idk I felt like the prosthetics were noticeable and I can’t see past the fatphobia of hiring someone thinner and shoving them in a fat suit, so I’d prefer that doesn’t get awarded lol. I’m not gonna place the full blame of that on Colin tho bc he did a stellar performance and idk if he knew going in that he’d be in the fat suit, plus like... I’m guessing he didn’t have much input on the character design.
