Why is hoseok your ult? Why do you like him better than others? I'm genuinely curious

i've gotten asked this question several times and even though i've answered it in the past i suppose it's been a long time since i posted it.

hoseok is my ult because he is a hard working artist that A) has the skills, technique and talent to cultivate his artistry in a way that is genuinely interesting, innovative and contagious and B) he has a work ethic i highly respect that allows him to keep a clear and defined line between his idol persona and his personal life, but that still manages to come across as genuine, heartwarming and likeable.

i am drawn to artists that are well - talented. i honestly could care less if an idol is cute or relatable or good looking or "tries so hard to improve" if the talent - the raw, artistic talent is not there. hoseok is the most talented dancer, performer and entertainer in bts and he is easily one of the most energetic and charismatic idols in the industry. he can sing, dance, rap, write and has the stage presence of a motherfucking beast and that is ultimately what i'm looking to support. his musicality is unrivaled - which is what makes him such an amazing dancer but also a great rapper and composer. he's just very fucking consistent - his entertainment levels never waver and he can keep a crowd engaged and hype them up like no one's business

an all rounder like him and that is also as grounded and humble as him is hard to come across - but what's more important is that he does not need to have the public's approval to reassure himself. yes, he loves entertaining and being a mood maker that does fanservice for his fans bc he knows it's what they like is part of that - but he has such a firm and autonomous image of himself, he's just so sure of what he can do and what his talents are that he doesn't really come across as attention seeking. he doesn't do his job for the fame and the applause. he likes it - but he does not need it to have a raison d'etre

also, i just genuinely think he's fucking cool. and as i've said before being effortlessly cool is an invaluable asset not a lot of celebs have. companies spend millions of dollars trying to chase what's cool - to replicate it and to set those trends. but unfortunately very few pop musicians nowadays and even fewer idols could be seen as cool without seeming like they're trying desperately to be cool. hoseok is cool because he does not care what people think about him and he has such a skilled eye for aesthetics - for fashion, color palettes, styling, content, choreo, etc. that it just comes easy to him.

so yes in conclusion this is why i like hoseok. thanks for coming to my tedtalk
