so we all know astarion was named after the minotaur of greek myth, who, despite widely known as the minotaur (“bull of minos”), was named astarion/asterion (“starry one”) by his mother at birth. asterion the minotaur was trapped in a labyrinth and cursed to devour virginal men and women thrown in there as sacrifices.
”The House of Asterion” is a 1947 short story by Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges that retells the story of the minotaur from the minotaur’s point of view. it’s one of his best early short stories and it’s very short, only 3 pages long. you can read it here.
borges is in my top 3 favorite writers of all time, and “The House of Asterion” obviously deserves to be considered on its own merits, so i feel slightly irreverent connecting this text to a recent video game. but i reread this short story today and there was much to think about, there were many more seeds planted in my mind in terms of interpretations of the minotaur myth and how asterion the minotaur relates to the story of astarion the vampire. i think it will for you, too.
anyway. if you don’t click through and read it, please at least read how it ends, remembering, of course, that the speaker is asterion the minotaur:

This is half-rant, half 'blabbing about OC lore' but like.
I'm immensely confused why so many people seem to make it Tav+Gortash (Tavtash?) VS Durgetash.
I'm very obviously more leaning to Durgetash myself because I just simply prefer the dynamic there - but I can totally see the appeal with a Tav and have my own ideas for a Tav+Gortash ship that I would like to work with one day for my own OCs.
I think the idea of having a Tav grow up with Gortash is incredible; friends to lovers to enemies? The idea of a childhood friend coming back so very different; we all grow up but Gortash had been through literal Hell. Do they stick by his side despite how changed he is, or do they accept he is not the picture they had in mind and can't come to terms with their friend no longer being there? Do they become equals or rivals? Enemies? Do they simply drift apart until one day Tav can't walk throughout the streets of the Gate without hearing the name Gortash? Does it hurt? Does it inspire?
That's just a few flavours I personally like, even.
I have two AUs for my Durge+Tav to play through together.
One, they are adopted brothers who are separated after Durge... kills their parents. They reunite as adults; both tadpoled and don't immediately realize who is who as so many years have past and Durge (Veren) literally has no memory of his brother (Emerik), anyway.
The second is a playthrough where Emerik had grown up with Gortash but Gortash, obviously, also mysteriously disappears one day (shoutouts to his shitty parents). In this run, Emerik and Veren also are still tadpoled and play throughout the game together - but once the coronation happens we get two deeply unhappy individuals who have to come to terms with the image of Gortash they both carry.
Veren has little scraps of memories and is a redeemed Urge who insists Gortash is going to be nothing but trouble, and he knows the man better than anyone.
Emerik protests that there is a good man underneath there that is worth redeeming because he knows him better than anyone. They grew up together.
Why we fightin' when we can be causing extreme emotional distress to that man and our OCs.

Hello! I really enjoy reading your posts and thoughts. They're very thoughtful and correct. Therefore, I would like to know specifically from you, why do you think so many men don't like Astarion? They are ready to kill him even at the start or betray after meeting with the monster hunter. Is it some kind of inner jealousy? What do you think?
hello! first of all, thank you SO much!! that’s so sweet of you 🥺 i love making posts about characters i love so it makes me happy when people enjoy them too :’)
and secondly, i feel like there are a couple of different reasons why many men don’t like astarion, and i think it mostly comes down to homophobia, a bit of jealousy because of his popularity, and also the fact that they’re threatened by any characters who are bold enough to make moves against them
and just to be clear, this doesn’t apply to EVERY single person; not everyone is going to like him and that’s fine! he’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. but unfortunately many people dislike/hate him for silly reasons like this and i just don’t know how any of these things is enough to make you hate a character you didn’t even ATTEMPT to get to know. he is one of the most well-written and complex characters with such an incredible backstory and the potential to redeem himself and become an even better person (if you help him and show him love) and it’s so sad that so many people miss out on that because they immediately judge him :/
anyways, the first thing: homophobia. astarion has one of the most unique and distinctive voices, and he can be quite dramatic and sassy. his mannerisms can also be seen as flamboyant. many men don’t like this (i wonder why lol). he comes across as very confident and even a bit cocky at first, and eventually if you slowly gain approval with him, he will start flirting with tav… this has literally made some people have a meltdown 😳 obviously astarion’s sudden flirting makes sense from a story perspective, because we know he only attempted to get close to tav to seduce them and gain their protection at first. but they don’t know that, and i don’t think they care because they’re too busy being uncomfortable about it and think they’re being personally harassed. the moment men see a male character that likes men, they automatically freak out. even if they’re fine with the character otherwise, that’s enough to make them hate them (homophobia sucks!!)
in regards to jealousy, i notice this tends to happen a lot when a character becomes really popular, especially if they’re physically attractive like astarion. it’s like they feel… threatened? bitter? in fandoms, a lot of people are women too, and i think misogyny comes into play here. people simply don’t like when women enjoy things, and astarion has a lot of female fans, so men don’t like that. it’s very weird. women enjoying themselves and loving a fictional man makes them very angry for some reason
i also think some of them just get easily annoyed when a character is very bold and willing to defend themselves. they don’t think about other perspectives except for their own, and they feel threatened when another character is tough and willing to challenge them to the point where their first thought is to just get rid of them before even trying to get to know them
i’ve seen people say they killed astarion because he put a knife to their throat at the start (he literally thinks that YOU are a threat to him. of course he’s going to threaten you and ask questions?!) and/or because he tried biting them in the middle of the night. and look, i understand how bad that second one looks, but you immediately find out why he was so desperate and made that decision because it’s revealed in that exact moment that he’s a starving vampire. that doesn’t excuse it, but it explains it. obviously it would’ve been nice if he asked first, but again, he literally tells you why he was scared and why he couldn’t trust you. he was doing it for his own survival. sometimes you need to take two seconds to put yourself in these character’s shoes before immediately losing your temper. and yes, i understand pretty much any of us would immediately remove that threat if we were actually in the situation, but it’s a FICTIONAL FANTASY ROLEPLAYING GAME. unless you’ve specifically made a character who would make those decisions in the game (which is fine and understandable because you’re supposed to roleplay as your character), i don’t understand why people would let their actual feelings get in the way and get rid of one of the most well-written and complex companions just because he did some things they don’t agree with. like, you’re supposed to stop and think: “who is this guy? what are his motives? there must be a reason for this” rather than just immediately crying about it and going straight to reddit to complain about how horrible he is as a character when you don’t even know him
but anyways yeah that’s personally why i think a lot of men don’t like astarion and why they choose to get rid of him. this is mostly based on things i’ve seen on reddit and the way they go on about how much they hate him while being extremely dramatic about it lol

About to throw your character asks a curveball:
Astarion.
Tumblr media
Ooh variety! 😈😈😈 The fangy boi!!!
Sexuality Headcanon: I'm pretty sure all the characters in BG3 are Pan. So I'll say Pan.
Gender Headcanon: Male
A ship I have with said character: Tav/Astarion obviously. I also like Astarion/Gale. Or redeemed!Dark Urge/Astarion.
A BROTP I have with said character: Astarion and Minthara being bitchy together is 👍👍👍
A NOTP I have with said character: N/A he deserves everyone. I guess Ascended Astarion/Tav because then he gets toxic af. Sexy. But toxic.
A random headcanon: I haven't fully finished the game yet so I'll have to abstain from some fangcanons lolol I need to do more research about the world first.
General Opinion over said character: Literally the thing that made me want to play BG3. He's so HIMMMM. Neil Newbon's performance is outstanding and his story really resonates with me, one survivor to another. It's very compelling. So yeah, new blorbo acquired. What an absolute beautiful king. Good for him tbh.

All of my Tavs :3
Kyreia (Tiefling Sorcerer). Honestly a very quiet person and deeply in love with her best friend. Very VERY bad at speaking up about her feelings. Her dream guardian is incredibly attractive.
Biromantic Bisexual (Shadowheart Romance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mint (Tiefling Bard). My favorite Tav and tav to end all tavs. Used to work for her abusive adoptive parents at a tavern in Baldur's Gate and desperately seeks to escape that life. Has the same ideals as Astarion in regards to doing what needs to be done to be free.
Heteromantic Demisexual (Astarion Romance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashara (Wood Elf Bard). I honestly haven't really fleshed her out yet in my mind, but what I DO know is she is the type of woman who would be rude to children and call them hellspawn. Has a soft spot for her companions who ask for money.
Panromantic Heterosexual (Astarion fling)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crimson (Tiefling Bard). I...missed Mint so much I basically just made her to play for my first time doing Dark Urge. Obviously also romanced Astarion. I love Dark Urge background ;-; She was redeemed.
Heteromantic Demisexual (Astarion Romance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oriana (Elf Rogue). My friend and I both wanted to romance Astarion in our multiplay but clearly we cannot do that so we decided to make twin sisters that were like his cousins so he had a family. Honestly, they're both really hot. Oriana and her sister, Aries.
Biromantic Bisexual (Gale Romance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ess (Tiefling Paladin can you tell I like tieflings?). Dark Urge to DARKEST urge. A middle aged woman who literally wants to kill, but grows fiercely protective over companions knowing that they can further her goals and keep her company in the mean time.
Aromantic Lesbian (Minthara fling)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eilin (Half-Elf Fighter). She just wants to be kind. Literally just wants to be kind and get out of things. Always dreamed of going on a fairy tale like adventure out in the real world, but NOW EVERYTHINGS GONE TO SHIT AND SHE JUST WANTS TO BE SAFE but she likes Wyll c:

some more, slightly longwinded thoughts on various things i've done in act 1 of bg3 with my half-elf bard tav, elenion:
i ran into raphael and basically told him to fuck off because why would we ever accept "help" from a devil after seeing what just happened with wyll and mizora??
i also investigated the beach and found the harpies. i wonder if it was actually them that the squirrels were complaining about earlier and not alfira's beautiful song.
Tumblr media
gale is hilarious but i'm now imagining elenion, who has already chosen to project an image of them on a romantic walk with gale into his head, rolling their eyes and thinking "so that's what i might be getting myself into if we survive all this."
i think i need to try and get into the habit of talking to everyone at camp after anything big happens even if they don't have a ! over their heads. i went to camp and accidentally clicked on astarion, and he had quite a bit to say about raphael and then so did everyone else!
Tumblr media
lae'zel is so funny sometimes actually.
also, the investigate the beach quest seems to have bugged out for me--it didn't complete after getting the letter from the kid we saved, which i assume was the end of the quest, but the objective was still to find mol who had no new dialogue. and then after i beat the goblin leaders the quest suddenly completed and changed to say "the situation has changed in the grove. mol is busy dealing with other matters." that's kind of annoying, but i'm guessing/hoping it won't really cause any issues.
anyway. i investigated kagha, and when i confronted her i got an option to recite the history told on the plaques in the grove as a way of convincing her to turn against the shadow druids. i knew my dedication to reading every bit of flavor text that i can find would come in handy somewhere! also, the game says that you just speak the text that was etched into the plaques, but since elenion is a bard i'm choosing to pretend that he turned it into a song.
after that i set out toward the goblin camp to save halsin and defeat the leaders. on the way there i got a dream sequence with the guardian i made in character creation, going "i've been protecting you from everything and btw you should totally embrace the ilithid powers". i had no idea what the guardian was going to be used for so i just made her look basically like how i thought elenion's mother would look, except i gave her the wrong eye color by mistake. i imagine that would feel very strange and would make it obvious that someone is trying to magically use his mother's face to manipulate him but has gotten a significant detail wrong.
everyone else at camp had the same dream and all had something to say about it! elenion basically told everyone he isn't sure he trusts this mysterious dream visitor, because really, i don't see why he should from a roleplay perspective. when he later found a specimen and was asked to open his mind to it, he rejected it because i don't think intellectual curiosity or desire to protect others should override basic common sense, though maybe something later in the story will change that. guess we'll see.
also, minthara wiped my party once when i tried fighting her normally, so the second time around i killed her by luring her onto a bridge and then destroying it out from under her. i didn't get her loot that way, but it was hilarious. will probably try to beat her legitimately on a second playthrough though.
i forgot to say earlier, i love how investigating the shadow druids gives you the ability to make kagha see the error of her ways and redeem her. however i am still mad that she tried to imprison a child.
kind of hilarious to me how lae'zel was very clearly expressing... interest in my tav at the party and was all "well, it's your loss, then" when they turned her down whereas astarion, completely unprompted, was like "gods i wish i was having sex with someone right now. but not you obviously, that would be awful". 😭 well you know what, elenion is gorgeous and smart and a musician (an inherently sexy thing to be) so maybe that's your loss, you overdramatic fruit bat. not that they would've been interested in him anyway though.
i think i also could've ended up getting a romantic scene with shadowheart (she wanted to share a bottle of wine after everyone else went to sleep), but i chose not to do anything with her.
i've heard that if you trigger the weave scene with gale at the party then the other companions will have dialogue where they react to the budding romance. which sounds hilarious but i got his approval up very quickly just by having my character be nice to people, and got the weave scene earlier, so i didn't get that dialogue. oh well! i still got a very sweet conversation with him. all of this talk about tara makes me wish she could come on the journey with us :(
i'm so glad we get to see alfira again at the party. i wish she could be a companion tbh, it'd be nice to still have a bard around if you don't play as one.
and speaking of alfira, once again i'm obsessed with the dialogue options in this game:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i picked the mixed heritage option because although elenion hates to boast or reveal too much about himself, i think he is very proud of his family. but i love that you have the option to be like "if you're going to write a song about me then it obviously has to be about how hot i am" or "if you dare write a song about me i will actually kill you".
anyway uhhh. what else. i'm sure that i've missed plenty of things i could've done so far, for example i ended up finding a dead tiefling beside a telescope on a hill and i bet if i'd gone up there sooner i could've saved her. i bet i also could've gotten higher approval with at least karlach or lae'zel and seen what might've changed about their dialogue at the party if i'd progressed more in their quests first. i think i may have also missed the chance to adopt a baby owlbear. and i'll probably end up missing even more things! but that's fine because i already know i'm going to be doing multiple playthroughs of this game.
i think now before i do anything else i am going to work on karlach's personal quest, because i still haven't taken down those paladins and i need to get answers out of her.

💕💛📿 for your tavs!!
💕 Did your Tav romance anyone? What did their lives together look like after the end of the game?
Val: Horrible little Astarion romancer <3 Post-game things are a little rough for a while, because they’re both selfish people navigating the first romantic relationship either of them have been in (at least since Astarion became a vampire, idk if he was in any before that) and they’re both learning how to, like, actually care about another person. (Luckily they have a strong support network in the rest of their companions, and their families, and slowly start working through all their issues.)
I think they end up spending half their time living in the Underdark (where they’ve been trying to set up some kind of society for the vampire spawn, and Val finally meets their father and his family) and around Baldur’s Gate, where they’re closer to most of their companions and the rest of their families. (I’m determined that Astarion gets to reconnect with his biological family after the events of the game.)
Eiryn: She romanced Karlach, and had a wonderful time with her, and then at the end of the game Karlach died. Eiryn mourns for a long time, but I like to think she eventually moves on and finds a new girlfriend, while never forgetting Karlach.
Lee: Wyll romance! Before Moonrise Towers, Lee and Astarion are fuckbuddies who keep getting distracted from actually having sex to go “Okay but did you see how hot Wyll looked today though. Wyll’s so perfect <3” Lee eventually convinces Wyll he’s able to be a romantic while having two partners, and if he and Astarion are happy with each other then so are they.
Immediately post-game, Lee and Wyll want to go to Avernus with Karlach, and bring Astarion along to No Sun Land. I think the four of them have several more adventures in both Avernus and Faerun before eventually settling down together in Baldur’s Gate (once Karlach has a working heart and, if they’re very luckily, once Astarion is unvampired). Wyll might eventually end up becoming Grand Duke, but I’m not sold on that. I think he and Lee adopt kids at some point (whether Astarion is also part of that, I’m unsure).
💛 Which of your non-romanced companions did your Tav stay closest to after the end of the game? Which companions drifted apart?
(Just doing the main six companions here, since I decided to answer for all three of my guys.)
Val: Besties with Shadowheart forever. She’s one of the main reasons they don’t want to spend all their time in the Underdark, but even when they’re down there, the two of them are writing to each other constantly.
They didn’t do enough to discourage Gale from being a god, so he starts drifting away from Val and the rest of the group. Things are Tense during the epilogue party and only get worse. Until, I think, a year or so on, when the gang Gets Back Together to go and stop Gale’s latest Dickhead God Bullshit, and redeem him with the power of love and “you’ve always been enough for us, idiot”. After that… these guys are Val’s family, and they’re never drifting away from them again.
Eiryn: Eiryn kind of drifted from everyone after Karlach’s death. She wanted to be alone for a while, and had a big fight with Wyll in the aftermath. (He was the only member of the party who could cast Darkness, so I figured he’d be busy stopping Astarion from dying and therefore… end up missing Karlach’s death. He’s distraught over it, and feels Eiryn should’ve done more to encourage Karlach to go back to Avernus, and they both say some unpleasant things to each other in their grief. They eventually apologise and make up during the epilogue party.)
She ultimately remains closest with Gale, and I think moves in somewhere around Waterdeep, having never been particularly happy around Baldur’s Gate. But she travels a lot, and makes sure to see all her friends at least semi-regularly.
Lee: Obviously very close to Astarion and Karlach, and wants them to always be a big part of her life. Outside the Wyll/Astarion/Karlach group who she’s living with, she keeps in closest touch with Gale, but makes sure not to lose touch with any of the party.
📿 Are there any specific items that your Tav kept as heirlooms, or were otherwise significant to them for sentimental reasons? Did they give any of them as gifts to their companions?
Val: Val quite likes collecting gemstones and books, but for sentimental items, they buy up every unique item Mattis sells, and hangs onto it despite their shitty 8 Strength Inventory Capacity. They love their tiefling son and wear his Ring of Being Really Invisible all game. I think they gave Shadowheart the ring of ant resistance too. It’s Important.
Eiryn: Eiryn doesn’t generally care about physical items all that much. I do think she adopts Clive after Karlach’s death though.
Lee: Unlike Eiryn, Lee fucking Loves physical items and is going to get as many as they possibly can. At the start of the game, they’re waking up covered in blood with no memory of anything and a weird desire to cut everyone they meet up into little pieces, but one of the biggest problems is that they’re pretty sure they used to have a bone collection, and now it’s completely gone, and they’re gonna have to start collecting every bone they find to build it back up. (They eventually decide they like it far more than the original bone collection, which they think they might have got in even more unethical circumstances than their current graverobbing.)
Lee also, however, notices their companions are all missing their bone collections, and are denying ever experiencing the joys of having one. They gift each of their companions a skull; it’s a good bone to start with if they ever do want to make their own collections, and if not, Lee still likes to give them as tokens of affection.
They also like giving Wyll all the best jewellery and any pretty shells that they find.

*cracks knuckles* alright, character development asks for your boy: 6, 8, 11, 19, 29, 30. -@veilkeeper
(The character development asks)
6: What companion are you platonically close with? In my first run Kyvir was closest to Gale (I don't know what I did with him, but his approval skyrocketed so fast) but I'm currently going back and forth between him and Wyll in terms of story. The dynamic of the monster and the monster hunter is sososososo good, and the idea of Kyvir's closest friend learning he's Bhaalspawn and responding with "Well, that explains a lot" and everything after refusing Bhaal where Wyll's just incredibly proud of you... good shit. Also, daddy issues gang. But also the angst of Kyvir's best friend learning what he did in the past and barely being able to look at him, Gale's dialogue at the inauguration is so much... I genuinely haven't decided, I'm gonna go through their dialogue more carefully this run. Maybe it starts as Gale and then switches to Wyll in act 3 just from Gale taking the whole Absolutist thing so incredibly badly and then getting kidnapped before they can hash that out...? I don't know, much to think about. (I also considered Karlach but the whole Gortash thing was just. too much angst. tone it down like 5%.)
8: Who are they suspicious of? I don't know if suspicious is the right word, but he's the most distrustful of Wyll at first. Both because he can't believe anyone is as perfect as Wyll appears to be and because for some reason monster hunters get his hackles up. It would've been Astarion or Lae'zel if it wasn't for Astarion failing so hard at pretending he's not a vampire that Kyvir didn't even notice he was trying to hide it (he fully just thought Astarion was sensitive about it and so didn't bring it up) and both him and Lae'zel being really quite up-front about how they're not the greatest people. Shadowheart a little bit because she's so obviously lying her ass off before admitting she worships Shar, but also she's really obvious so he's not that worried. He's also suspicious of Jaheira when she first joins up because the Urge doesn't like her and this is a little before he realizes what's actually going on with that; he would have been distrustful of Minsc too, but Jaheira vouched for him and by that point Kyvir trusted her to at least not stab him in the back for no reason, so that was fine.
11: Weapon of choice? In this run mostly warhammers (specifically Faithbreaker and Ketheric's warhammer), and Nyrulna in act 3 (glowing trident go brrrrrrrrr), but since I intend to reclass him as a bard he won't be able to do that anymore. So that kind of remains to be seen. (Definitely giving him Orin's sword in act 3, though.)
19: How do you think they'll meet they're end? I remain convinced that redeemed Durge is fully immortal because Jergal won't let them die, so... what end? More seriously, if he does die it'll be in a dramatic battle against a grand force, the sort of fight that the bards will sing of for a thousand years! ...Or possibly he'll get stabbed in a back alley because he can't not be a little shit even when he really, really shouldn't. But probably Astarion and Halsin won't let that happen.
29: Does your Tav want to utilize the tadpole powers or not? Kyvir's head is quite messed up enough as it is, thank you very much. He is not touching the tadpole powers. Also, even aside from the "Hey, I don't need more brain damage" situation the Emperor's non-illithid disguise is juuuuuuuuust off-model enough (thanks to all the brain damage keeping the Emperor from getting a good look in his head) that it sets off some alarm bells for him so he was never going to trust the guy enough to start messing with the tadpoles anyway.
30: What's your favorite thing about your Tav? ...Hm. My favourite thing? Well, it's a bit basic, but I love the "pretending to care while not caring at all can get you far in life, but watch out" thing he's got going on. Enough of his life pre-amnesia stuck with him that he doesn't want to get near anyone, but his companions are all such messes that he can't not. In general I'm having a lot of fun playing with Kyvir's memories and how much he remembers the lessons they taught him even with the memories themselves gone, but mostly my favourite thing right now is the "defrosting ice king but no one realizes because he's really good at pretending to be super friendly" bit he's pulling off throughout most of the story by virtue of being one of the only members of this party with decent charisma, at least in act one. ...Also all the Durgetash posting he's inspiring but that's only partially related to him.

Posting this ask under a readmore because of Upd8 Spoilers.
I do think tav was just in on it, so they were most probably bluffing. Still, jane just being willing to let him die, or even worse, stage his death so it looks like they did it, is probably a mew level of fucked up. At this point dirk’s redemption is more believable in my opinion
Oh they were absolutely bluffing. There’s no way Rose and Jade would be chill letting a kid die, and KANAYA of all Trolls to snap Tavros’ neck. Also the little “I will turn him into a Rainbowdrinker!” “... That’s not how Troll Vampirism works.” “... Okay, I’ll snap his neck.” And Jade and Rose just, reaffirming that “hey yes! She will do it! Watch out!” It’s obviously a set-up.
This Jane is REALLY down a deep, DEEP rabbit hole. If there’s ANY chance for this Jane to redeem herself, and this is a DEEP maybe, it has to start right at this moment. Specifically, at Jake facing her. At Jake, who she thinks is worthless and wrapped around her finger, to call her out on how FUCKED up it was that she was about to sacrifice their kid. To snap her out of her bullshit even if momentarily, serve her a good, hard dose of truth, and leave her astonished at “Wait a fucking moment, what am I DOING, was I really going to just let my own CHILD die without a second thought, used as a political pawn?”
I feel only if THAT happens there’d be a glimmer of potential Jane Redemption, and even then that’d have to be the START of a REALLY long process of dismantling every single belief she has and undoing the immense damage she’s already done, and STILL being shunned by the group at large.

Mike and Gwen defend Octavian against unjust berations but they’ll also be the first to tell him when he’s actually being shitty. They probably help him when he’s trying to redeem himself. But the point of this was they don’t let people make fun of his name but they’re the first to tease him. He obviously doesn’t really like nicknames but they’ll give him Tavi and Tav and Tavian and Octgayvian when Mikes feeling punny.
They have the ability to come up with puns on the spot. When he talks about birds hes octavian. when he’s indecisive he’s octmaybean. i can’t think of any more puns rn but i also imagine he has the nickname “teddy” because that? cute as fuck
