Unboxing My 1st Althea Box

I placed my order last Nov. 23, 2017 and it only took 4 days for my order to arrive from Korea. YAAS. At first I was skeptical with ordering from them because of the negative reviews about the shipping time. I still ordered from them because it's cheaper than the ones from Shopee and I'm assured that the products are authentic despite fact that I might receive it two weeks after especially that it's peak season for deliveries.

It was really packaged very well. The box was even covered with a bubble wrap so there wasn't any dent or crease on it.

The products were individually wrapped in bubble wrap so you're assured that there isn't any spillage or damage to it.

I only got myself the Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel (Php 180), Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam(Php 370), and the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask(Php 560). All of these for just Php 1,110 but I only paid Php 999 because I entered a 10% coupon I saw online. 

It’s my second tub of the Aloe Vera Gel and it’s really one of my HG products. I use it as a sleeping mask at night and it really moisturizes my skin and keeps it smooth. Also, it’s very effective in drying out a pimple. I’m happy that I saved Php 65 because the mall price is Php 245 pesos. I’ve mentioned on one of my posts that the Innisfree pore cleansing foam has become my favorite since I tried the sample size so now I’ve bought the full size. It was larger than I expected it be. I think it will last me for a long time because a pea size already foams so well. It expires in 2020 so I’m good. I have yet to try the Innisfree clay mask and tell you on my next post what I think of it. 

I would definitely order again from Althea. They offer big discounts most of the time and you really get value for money. Althea also offers COD or cash on delivery and free shipping for orders Php 999 and above (terms and conditions apply).

DJEM’S VERDICT: The first time that I saw this thing, I was like “What is this thing? It looks weird!”. So your girl went searching the internet to find out how this one works. Fortunately, I saw some instructions and found out that it is indeed a weird product. Here’s how you use it: First, you shouldn’t shake the bottle, if so, don’t use it yet. Second, let the pinkish particles subside before using it. Third, scoop out some of the pinkish parts with the use of a cotton bud. And lastly, apply it onto the skin (to pimples, etc.), and let it sit overnight. And when you wake up, tadaahhh! Your pimples are now dry! It immediately works with small zits, and it takes longer to have an effect on bigger ones. This is one of my holy grails (the other is the pimple patch) when I have bumps sitting on my face. I highly suggest you try this out!

Overall, this Double Trouble Box from Althea is a steal! If you’re going to add each of the items, it will cost you ₱6,380.00, but if you’re going to avail the box, you will save ₱5,100.00!!! Isn’t great? I can say that the products will surely heal your troubled face. I personally love this box ‘cause it’s really worth it and all products are very useful and you can use them for a long time (‘cause the product sizes are really big). Second Haul from Althea Korea

Finally got my second haul from Althea Korea last February 22, 2017. I was so happy with my first haul that right after I got it I already placed items on my wish list for my second haul. Kbeauty products are the bomb. I’m starting to have some sort of a skincare routine. 

I actually told my mom that I won these at a giveaway. Hahaha. I didn’t want her to know that I bought these online. She’s not used to me buying stuff like these. But lately, I’ve been trying to like take care of myself and like really learn to do make-up and stuff. I was actually hoping to receive this 2 weeks ago. I placed my order February 9 but for some reason I only got it last week. I even emailed their customer service because I was concerned about my parcel. Maybe there were just too many orders because of their valentines promos and free boxes that’s why there was a delay on the shipments. Nonetheless, I’m still glad that I already got mine. 

If you remember my first box (link here), there are two items which I bought again on my second haul. Let me list down the items that I bought.

Pig-Nose Clear Black Head 3- Step Kit  

Brand: Holika Holika

I was so amazed the first time I got to try it. It’s so satisfying to see those black heads after removing the strip. I really love this product. And once again, I only got it for 80php instead of 160php. Yayyy. I really recommend this product. 

Everyday Bouncy Facial Mask 

Brand: PACKage

I only bought one of these during my first haul. I just want to try it. I’ve tried other facial masks before from Watson’s and they were okay. But I loved this the first time I got to try it. My skin really felt so soft and smooth afterwards. So this time I bought 5. Maybe next time I’ll buy a whole box. And just like last time I got them for 50php each as well. I actually also wanted to try a different kind of facial mask but the ones I wanted were at of stock at the time. Maybe I’ll try a different one on my 3rd haul :-)

Calmia Oatmeal Cleansing Foam (150ml)

I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about this cleansing foam so I decided to buy one as well. I haven’t really tried it yet but I’m so excited to see the result on my face once I got to try it. I’ll probably do a review on this one since I bought two kinds of cleansing foam. I’ll be comparing them :-) This was such a good deal because the original price was 400php however, I only got it for 160php!

This was another brand of cleansing foam that I bought. I was actually a bit hesitant on this purchase. Hahaha. I was thinking whether to get another cleansing foam or get Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. But I still chose these anyway. I wanted to compare the two cleansing foam to see which one’s better. I’m not sure what was the original price since it’s currently out of stock but I only got it for 122php. Watch out for my blog about it versus the calmia cleansing foam :-)

Calmia Cleansing Tissue (87g)

Brand: Calmia

I saw one of the bloggers I’m following bought these and I wanted to give it a try myself. This was the first item I got to try. It smell’s so good. I tried it after I got home from a 2-hour commute. I can say that it’s effective cause when I tried to wipe it on my face I can really see the tissue having black areas due to the dirt on my face. It also feels cool on the face afterwards. I got it for 60php instead of 120php and it contains 20 sheets. Not bad right? :-)

Selfie Perfect concealer

Brand: Witch’s Pouch 

I actually already have a concealer which I brought from Maybelline. But I decided to buy this so I could try it out to see if it has better coverage than the one I’m currently using. You press the end tip of it so that the concealer will come out. I haven’t tried it yet and I forgot to bring it with me back to my dorm so I’ll probably try it out on the weekend. Surprisingly, from 560php I only got it for 220php. 

Blush & Contour Brush

Brand: It’s my Brush & Puff

I have a concealer and a blush but I’m actually using a beauty blender to spread and blend them in. I wanted to try the brush to see which I like better. Also, I hate the cleaning part when using beauty blenders and I think brushes are more easier to clean. So far I am loving this brush. And since I’m starting to learn and experiment with make-ups, I’ll probably by more types of brushes like for the eyeshadow and eyebrows etc. And can you guess just how much this is? It’s only 32php which is totally a great deal! 

Can’t wait to try them all and do reviews for some of the items. I also have prepared my bag for my 3rd haul. I love shopping beauty products on Althea Korea. LANEIGE Wild at Heart Palette Review (Limited Edition)

Hello there shimmers! I’m here for another K-Beauty review for you guys. But then, as you can see in the title, this is from LANEIGE’s Holiday Edition from last year and so I’m not sure if you can still get this from the store. I was a bit hesitant to post this for that reason but after some browsing, I saw a number of shops that still sell this online - I’ll link ‘em all for you later.

Well, back to the review..

I’ve always loved LANEIGE’s special edition collections so I make sure I pick up as many as I can get whenever they launch something new. For the Wild at Heart 2018 Holiday Collection, I got myself the multi-palette.

LANEIGE has a new store in SM Makati and MOA but since I’m never around the area, I just got mine online via Althea Korea PH.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

The palette contains 6 eyeshadow shades, 5 of them are shimmery and 1 matte. It also has a rosy petal blusher as well as a highlighter.

The shades are all perfect for everyday wear. The palette has trendy rose burgundy hues as well as the classic neutrals.

SWATCHES:

Laneige’s very K-Beauty style is apparent in their eyeshadows. They’re not about strong pigments, but more on creamy textures and iridescent shimmers. If you’re somehow expecting a dramatic Jeffree Star moment, this is not it. I used to be so obsessed over Lunasol palettes back in 2011 and if you��re into them too, you’ll love this palette from Laneige.

While I already know what to expect when it comes to the pigmentation level of this palette, I have to say that I’m still greatly disappointed with how the blusher turned out. It simply does not show up! *cue major eye roll moment*. It’s such a shame because the color itself is super lovely, it even has iridescent purple/pink/blue microfine shimmers as you apply it. But it won’t show up until you’ve reached 3 to 4 layers!

On the other hand, the highlighter is fantastic! It also has a gorgeous mix of microfine shimmers (gold/pink/purple) that truly enhances my complexion.

WHEN WORN:

I used three eyeshadow shades for my eyes and this is the outcome. I don’t know how to work with intensely pigmented eyehadows so this palette is perfect for me as they are subtle and very easy to blend. I personally love the neutral shades in this multi-palette. 

I also used the highlighter for my nose bridge, temples, cupid’s bow and chin. I applied the blusher using a huge dense brush and this is the fullest color payoff it can give. I do have pale skin but this one still doesn’t work for me. I think I’ll just use it as highlighter or eyeshadow.

MY THOUGHTS:

I got this palette for 1,810php ($35). Is it worth it? Well honestly, not really. There are better options for multi-palettes out there that come at more affordable price points. You can just go for Etude House or Peripera if you’re on a hunt for cute colors and subtle pigment payoff. 

However, if you’re all for the sake of collecting it, then it does make a nice addition to your collection. I personally love its packaging and limited edition makeup products always have a special space in my heart. The quality is surely top-notch (duh, it’s Laneige!), if only the blusher works then I might give it a 5-star review. For me, the Laneige Wild at Heart Multi-Palette is 3/5 - minus points for the blusher and for the very common color selection of the eyeshadows.
